ਕਹੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਭਕੰਤ ॥
kahoon bhoot pret bhakant |

Somewhere the ghosts speak

ਸੁ ਕਹੂੰ ਕਮਧ ਉਠੰਤ ॥
su kahoon kamadh utthant |

Somewhere the ghosts and fiends shouted and somewhere the headless trunks began to rise in the battlefield

ਕਹੂੰ ਨਾਚ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ॥
kahoon naach beer baitaal |

Baital Bir is dancing somewhere

ਸੋ ਬਮਤ ਡਾਕਣਿ ਜੁਆਲ ॥੭੮੧॥
so bamat ddaakan juaal |781|

Somewhere the brave Baitals danced and somewhere the Vampires raised flames of fire.781.

ਰਣ ਘਾਇ ਘਾਏ ਵੀਰ ॥
ran ghaae ghaae veer |

Warriors are suffering wounds on the battlefield,

ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਭੀਗੇ ਚੀਰ ॥
sabh sron bheege cheer |

The garments of warriors were saturated with blood, on being wounded in the battlefield

ਇਕ ਬੀਰ ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲੰਤ ॥
eik beer bhaaj chalant |

A warrior flees (from the battlefield).

ਇਕ ਆਨ ਜੁਧ ਜੁਟੰਤ ॥੭੮੨॥
eik aan judh juttant |782|

On one side the warriors are running away and on the other side they are coming and fighting in the war.782.

ਇਕ ਐਂਚ ਐਂਚ ਕਮਾਨ ॥
eik aainch aainch kamaan |

By pulling a bow

ਤਕ ਵੀਰ ਮਾਰਤ ਬਾਨ ॥
tak veer maarat baan |

On one side, the warriors are stretching their bows and discharging arrows

ਇਕ ਭਾਜ ਭਾਜ ਮਰੰਤ ॥
eik bhaaj bhaaj marant |

One is dying on the run,

ਨਹੀ ਸੁਰਗ ਤਉਨ ਬਸੰਤ ॥੭੮੩॥
nahee surag taun basant |783|

On the other side they are running away and brathing their last, but not getting a place in the heaven.783.

ਗਜ ਰਾਜ ਬਾਜ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
gaj raaj baaj anek |

Many elephants and horses died.

ਜੁਝੇ ਨ ਬਾਚਾ ਏਕ ॥
jujhe na baachaa ek |

Many elephants and horses died and not even one was saved

ਤਬ ਆਨ ਲੰਕਾ ਨਾਥ ॥
tab aan lankaa naath |

Then the king of Lanka Vibhishan came

ਜੁਝਯੋ ਸਿਸਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ॥੭੮੪॥
jujhayo sisan ke saath |784|

Then Vibhishan, the Lord of Lanka, fought with the boys.784.

ਬਹੋੜਾ ਛੰਦ ॥
bahorraa chhand |

BAHORA STANZA

ਲੰਕੇਸ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੋ ਤਕ ਬਾਨ ॥
lankes ke ur mo tak baan |

Sri Rama's son (Lav) stabbed Vibhishan in his chest

ਮਾਰਯੋ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਸਤ ਜਿ ਕਾਨ ॥
maarayo raam sisat ji kaan |

The sons of Ram pulling their bows shot an arrow in the heart of the king of Lanka

ਤਬ ਗਿਰਯੋ ਦਾਨਵ ਸੁ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਧ ॥
tab girayo daanav su bhoom madh |

So Vibhishana fell on the earth,

ਤਿਹ ਬਿਸੁਧ ਜਾਣ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਯੋ ਬਧ ॥੭੮੫॥
tih bisudh jaan nahee keeyo badh |785|

That demon fell down on the earth and considering him unconscious, the boys did not kill him.785.

ਤਬ ਰੁਕਯੋ ਤਾਸ ਸੁਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਆਨ ॥
tab rukayo taas sugreev aan |

Then Sugriva came and stood with him (and started saying-)

ਕਹਾ ਜਾਤ ਬਾਲ ਨਹੀ ਪੈਸ ਜਾਨ ॥
kahaa jaat baal nahee pais jaan |

Then Sugriva came and stopped there and said, “O boys! where are you going? You cannot get away and remain safe.”

ਤਬ ਹਣਯੋ ਬਾਣ ਤਿਹ ਭਾਲ ਤਕ ॥
tab hanayo baan tih bhaal tak |

Then (Love) saw his forehead and shot an arrow,

ਤਿਹ ਲਗਯੋ ਭਾਲ ਮੋ ਰਹਯੋ ਚਕ ॥੭੮੬॥
tih lagayo bhaal mo rahayo chak |786|

Then the boys of the sage made a target of his forehead and shot his arrow which struck his forehead and feeling the sharpness of the arrow, he became actionless.786.

ਚਪ ਚਲੀ ਸੈਣ ਕਪਣੀ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ॥
chap chalee sain kapanee su krudh |

The army of monkeys became enraged (at once) and ran away,

ਨਲ ਨੀਲ ਹਨੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸੁ ਜੁਧ ॥
nal neel hanoo angad su judh |

On seeing this the whole army was pressed and in great fury, they began to fight alongwith Nal, Neel, Hanuman and Angad

ਤਬ ਤੀਨ ਤੀਨ ਲੈ ਬਾਲ ਬਾਨ ॥
tab teen teen lai baal baan |

At the same time, the children took three arrows with anger

ਤਿਹ ਹਣੋ ਭਾਲ ਮੋ ਰੋਸ ਠਾਨ ॥੭੮੭॥
tih hano bhaal mo ros tthaan |787|

Then the boys took three arrows each and shot them on the foreheads of all.787.

ਜੋ ਗਏ ਸੂਰ ਸੋ ਰਹੇ ਖੇਤ ॥
jo ge soor so rahe khet |

The warriors who went remained on the battlefield.

ਜੋ ਬਚੇ ਭਾਜ ਤੇ ਹੁਇ ਅਚੇਤ ॥
jo bache bhaaj te hue achet |

Those who remained in the field, they embraced death an those who survived lost their senses and ran away

ਤਬ ਤਕਿ ਤਕਿ ਸਿਸ ਕਸਿ ਬਾਣ ॥
tab tak tak sis kas baan |

Then the children shot arrows one by one

ਦਲ ਹਤਯੋ ਰਾਘਵੀ ਤਜਿ ਕਾਣਿ ॥੭੮੮॥
dal hatayo raaghavee taj kaan |788|

Then those boys tightly shot their arrows on their arrows on their targets and destroyed fearlessly the forces of Ram.788.

ਅਨੂਪ ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
anoop naraaj chhand |

ANOOP NIRAAJ STANZA

ਸੁ ਕੋਪਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਬਲੰ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਰਾਘਵੀ ਸਿਸੰ ॥
su kop dekh kai balan su krudh raaghavee sisan |

Seeing the anger of the strong, the sons of Sri Rama become angry.

ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਤ ਸਰੰ ਬਬਰਖ ਬਰਖਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥
bachitr chitrat saran babarakh barakhano ranan |

Seeing the strength and rage of the boys (sons) of Ram and visualizing that volley of arrows in that wonderful type of war,

ਭਭਜਿ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਸੁਤੰ ਉਠੰਤ ਭੇਕਰੀ ਧੁਨੰ ॥
bhabhaj aasuree sutan utthant bhekaree dhunan |

The sons of the demons (Vibhishana etc.) are running and there is a terrible sound.

ਭ੍ਰਮੰਤ ਕੁੰਡਲੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਪਪੀੜ ਦਾਰਣੰ ਸਰੰ ॥੭੮੯॥
bhramant kunddalee kritan papeerr daaranan saran |789|

The army of demons, raising terrible sound, fled away and wandered circularly.789.

ਘੁਮੰਤ ਘਾਇਲੋ ਘਣੰ ਤਤਛ ਬਾਣਣੋ ਬਰੰ ॥
ghumant ghaaeilo ghanan tatachh baanano baran |

Most phattars move around and are pierced by sharp arrows.

ਭਭਜ ਕਾਤਰੋ ਕਿਤੰ ਗਜੰਤ ਜੋਧਣੋ ਜੁਧੰ ॥
bhabhaj kaataro kitan gajant jodhano judhan |

Many wounded warriors after being shot by sharp arrows began to wander and many warriors began to wander and many warriors began to roar and many of them becoming helpless breathed their last

ਚਲੰਤ ਤੀਛਣੋ ਅਸੰ ਖਿਮੰਤ ਧਾਰ ਉਜਲੰ ॥
chalant teechhano asan khimant dhaar ujalan |

Sharp swords move and white blades shine.

ਪਪਾਤ ਅੰਗਦ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਹਨੂ ਵ ਸੁਗ੍ਰਿਵੰ ਬਲੰ ॥੭੯੦॥
papaat angad kesaree hanoo v sugrivan balan |790|

The sharp sword of white edges were struck in the battlefield, the strength of Angad, Hanuman, Sugriva etc. began to wean away.790.

ਗਿਰੰਤ ਆਮੁਰੰ ਰਣੰ ਭਭਰਮ ਆਸੁਰੀ ਸਿਸੰ ॥
girant aamuran ranan bhabharam aasuree sisan |

(This is how the heroes have fallen) as if the spears have fallen on the earth with the force of the wind.

ਤਜੰਤ ਸੁਆਮਣੋ ਘਰੰ ਭਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਲੇ ਭਟੰ ॥
tajant suaamano gharan bhajant praan le bhattan |

Very full of dust and vomiting blood from their mouths.

ਉਠੰਤ ਅੰਧ ਧੁੰਧਣੋ ਕਬੰਧ ਬੰਧਤੰ ਕਟੰ ॥
autthant andh dhundhano kabandh bandhatan kattan |

Witches scream in the sky and jackals roam the earth.

ਲਗੰਤ ਬਾਣਾਣੋ ਬਰੰ ਗਿਰੰਤ ਭੂਮਿ ਅਹਵਯੰ ॥੭੯੧॥
lagant baanaano baran girant bhoom ahavayan |791|

Ghosts and ghosts are talking and postmen are belching. 792.

ਪਪਾਤ ਬ੍ਰਿਛਣੰ ਧਰੰ ਬਬੇਗ ਮਾਰ ਤੁਜਣੰ ॥
papaat brichhanan dharan babeg maar tujanan |

The chief warriors fall like mountains to the earth.

ਭਰੰਤ ਧੂਰ ਭੂਰਣੰ ਬਮੰਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤੰ ਮੁਖੰ ॥
bharant dhoor bhooranan bamant sronatan mukhan |

The warriors being shot by arrows quickly began to fall on the earth, the dust clung to their bodies and the blood oozed out from their mouths
