ਫਿਕਰੰਤ ਸਿਆਰ ਬਸੇਖਯੰ ॥੧੪॥੧੩੬॥
fikarant siaar basekhayan |14|136|

Many warriors are roaring and the jackals, in particular, being pleased, are howling.14.136.

ਹਰਖੰਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤਿ ਰੰਗਣੀ ॥
harakhant sronat ranganee |

ਬਿਹਰੰਤ ਦੇਬਿ ਅਭੰਗਣੀ ॥
biharant deb abhanganee |

The immortal Durga, the dyer with blood, is moving, pleased with her task.

ਬਬਕੰਤ ਕੇਹਰ ਡੋਲਹੀ ॥
babakant kehar ddolahee |

ਰਣਿ ਅਭੰਗ ਕਲੋਲਹੀ ॥੧੫॥੧੩੭॥
ran abhang kalolahee |15|137|

The roaring lion is running and such is the continuous situation in the battlefield.15.137.

ਢਮ ਢਮਤ ਢੋਲ ਢਮਕਯੰ ॥
dtam dtamat dtol dtamakayan |

ਧਮ ਧਮਤ ਸਾਗ ਧਮਕਯੰ ॥
dham dhamat saag dhamakayan |

The drums are resounding and the daggers are clanking.

ਬਹ ਬਹਤ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣਯੰ ॥
bah bahat krudh kripaanayan |

ਜੁਝੈਤ ਜੋਧ ਜੁਆਣਯੰ ॥੧੬॥੧੩੮॥
jujhait jodh juaanayan |16|138|

The fighting warriors, in great fury, are striking their swords.16.138.

DOHRA

ਭਜੀ ਚਮੂੰ ਸਬ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਸੁੰਭ ਨਿਰਖ ਨਿਜ ਨੈਣ ॥
bhajee chamoon sab daanavee sunbh nirakh nij nain |

Seeing with his own eyes the running demon-army

ਨਿਕਟ ਬਿਕਟ ਭਟ ਜੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਬੁਲਿਯੋ ਬੈਣ ॥੧੭॥੧੩੯॥
nikatt bikatt bhatt je hute tin prat buliyo bain |17|139|

Sumbh spoke to the mighty warriors standing near him.17.139.

ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥

NARAAJ STANZA

ਨਿਸੁੰਭ ਸੁੰਭ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ॥
nisunbh sunbh kop kai |

ਪਠਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪ ਕੈ ॥
patthiyo su paav rop kai |

Srriking his foot on the earth Sumbh sent Nisumbh saying

ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਿ ਸੀਘ੍ਰ ਜਾਈਯੋ ॥
kahiyo ki seeghr jaaeeyo |

ਦ੍ਰੁਗਾਹਿ ਬਾਧ ਲ੍ਰਯਾਈਯੋ ॥੧੮॥੧੪੦॥
drugaeh baadh lrayaaeeyo |18|140|

“Go immediately and bring Durga after binding her.”18.140.

ਚੜ੍ਯੋ ਸੁ ਸੈਣ ਸਜਿ ਕੈ ॥
charrayo su sain saj kai |

ਸਕੋਪ ਸੂਰ ਗਜਿ ਕੈ ॥
sakop soor gaj kai |

Thundering and in great fury, he marched forward alongwith his army.

ਉਠੈ ਬਜੰਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਜਿ ਕੈ ॥
autthai bajantr baaj kai |

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸੁਰੇਸੁ ਭਾਜਿ ਕੈ ॥੧੯॥੧੪੧॥
chaliyo sures bhaaj kai |19|141|

The trumpets were sounded, hearing which caused the king of gods run away.19.141.

ਅਨੰਤ ਸੂਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ॥
anant soor sang lai |

ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਦੁੰਦਭੀਨ ਦੈ ॥
chaliyo su dundabheen dai |

Beating his drums, he marched forward taking countless warriors with him.

ਹਕਾਰਿ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਭਰੇ ॥
hakaar sooramaa bhare |

ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਡਰੇ ॥੨੦॥੧੪੨॥
bilok devataa ddare |20|142|

He called and gathered so many brave fighters, seeing whom the gods were frightened.20.142.

ਮਧੁਭਾਰ ਛੰਦ ॥
madhubhaar chhand |

MADHUBHAAR STANZA

ਕੰਪਿਯੋ ਸੁਰੇਸ ॥
kanpiyo sures |

ਬੁਲਿਯੋ ਮਹੇਸ ॥
buliyo mahes |

The king of gods trembled and reated all his painful circumstances to Lord Shiva.

ਕਿਨੋ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
kino bichaar |

ਪੁਛੇ ਜੁਝਾਰ ॥੨੧॥੧੪੩॥
puchhe jujhaar |21|143|

When he gave out all his feflections, Shiva asked him about the number of his warriors.21.143.

ਕੀਜੈ ਸੁ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ॥
keejai su mitr |

ਕਉਨੇ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ॥
kaune charitr |

(He further asked him) to make friends all others through all possible means

ਜਾਤੇ ਸੁ ਮਾਇ ॥
jaate su maae |

ਜੀਤੈ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੨੨॥੧੪੪॥
jeetai banaae |22|144|

So that the victory of the mother of the world is assured.22.144.

ਸਕਤੈ ਨਿਕਾਰ ॥
sakatai nikaar |

ਭੇਜੋ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
bhejo apaar |

Bring out all your powers, and send them in the war

ਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
satran jaae |

ਹਨਿ ਹੈ ਰਿਸਾਇ ॥੨੩॥੧੪੫॥
han hai risaae |23|145|

So that they may go before enemies and in great rage destroy them.23.145.

ਸੋਈ ਕਾਮ ਕੀਨ ॥
soee kaam keen |

ਦੇਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥
devan prabeen |

The wise gods did as advised

ਸਕਤੈ ਨਿਕਾਰਿ ॥
sakatai nikaar |

ਭੇਜੀ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੨੪॥੧੪੬॥
bhejee apaar |24|146|

And sent their boundless powers from amoungst themselves to the battlefield.24.146.

ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
bridh naraaj chhand |

BIRADH NIRAAJ STANZA

ਚਲੀ ਸਕਤਿ ਸੀਘ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣਿ ਪਾਣਿ ਧਾਰ ਕੈ ॥
chalee sakat seeghr sree kripaan paan dhaar kai |

Immediately the powers wore the sword and went towards the arena of war

ਉਠੇ ਸੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਧ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਡਉਰ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਡਕਾਰ ਕੈ ॥
autthe su gridh bridh ddaur ddaakanee ddakaar kai |

And with them ran the great vultures nd belching vampires.

ਹਸੇ ਸੁ ਰੰਗ ਕੰਕ ਬੰਕਯੰ ਕਬੰਧ ਅੰਧ ਉਠਹੀ ॥
hase su rang kank bankayan kabandh andh utthahee |

The terrible crows smiled and the blind headless bodies also moved.

ਬਿਸੇਖ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਰੁ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰ ਬੁਠਹੀ ॥੨੫॥੧੪੭॥
bisekh devataa ru beer baan dhaar butthahee |25|147|

From this side, the gods and other heroes began to shower shafts.25.147.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਸਬੈ ਸਕਤਿ ਐ ਕੈ ॥
sabai sakat aai kai |

ਚਲੀ ਸੀਸ ਨਿਐ ਕੈ ॥
chalee sees niaai kai |

All the powers came and went back paying their obeisance.

ਮਹਾ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥
mahaa asatr dhaare |

ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੨੬॥੧੪੮॥
mahaa beer maare |26|148|

They wore terrible arms and killed many great warriors.26.148.

ਮੁਖੰ ਰਕਤ ਨੈਣੰ ॥
mukhan rakat nainan |

ਬਕੈ ਬੰਕ ਬੈਣੰ ॥
bakai bank bainan |

Their faces and eyes are reddened with blood and they are uttering challenging words from their mouths.

ਧਰੇ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਣੰ ॥
dhare asatr paanan |

ਕਟਾਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣੰ ॥੨੭॥੧੪੯॥
kattaaree kripaanan |27|149|

They are holding arms, daggers and swords in their hands.27.149.

ਉਤੈ ਦੈਤ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
autai dait gaaje |

ਤੁਰੀ ਨਾਦ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
turee naad baaje |

From the other side, the demons are thundering, and the trumpets are resounding.

ਧਾਰੇ ਚਾਰ ਚਰਮੰ ॥
dhaare chaar charaman |

ਸ੍ਰਜੇ ਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਬਰਮੰ ॥੨੮॥੧੫੦॥
sraje kraoor baraman |28|150|

They are wearing cruel armour, holding winsome shields in their hands.28.150.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਗਰਜੇ ॥
chahoon or garaje |

ਸਬੈ ਦੇਵ ਲਰਜੇ ॥
sabai dev laraje |

They began to roar from all the four sides and hearing their voices, all the gods trembled.

ਛੁਟੇ ਤਿਛ ਤੀਰੰ ॥
chhutte tichh teeran |

ਕਟੇ ਚਉਰ ਚੀਰੰ ॥੨੯॥੧੫੧॥
katte chaur cheeran |29|151|

The sharp arrows were shot and the garments and fly-whisks were torn.29.151.

ਰੁਸੰ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਰਤੇ ॥
rusan rudr rate |

ਮਹਾ ਤੇਜ ਤਤੇ ॥
mahaa tej tate |

Inebriated with extreme ferocity, the warriors are seen with brightened faces.

ਕਰੀ ਬਾਣ ਬਰਖੰ ॥
karee baan barakhan |

ਭਰੀ ਦੇਬਿ ਹਰਖੰ ॥੩੦॥੧੫੨॥
bharee deb harakhan |30|152|

The goddess Durga, being very much pleased, hath begun showering the rain of arrows.30.152.

ਇਤੇ ਦੇਬਿ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
eite deb maarai |

ਉਤੈ ਸਿੰਘੁ ਫਾਰੈ ॥
autai singh faarai |

On this side, the goddess is busy in killing and on the other side the lion is tearing up all.

ਗਣੰ ਗੂੜ ਗਰਜੈ ॥
ganan goorr garajai |

ਸਬੈ ਦੈਤ ਲਰਜੇ ॥੩੧॥੧੫੩॥
sabai dait laraje |31|153|

Hearing the roars of the Ganas (attendants) of Shiva, the demons have become frightened.31.153.
