ਮੈਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਣ ਬਨੀ ਦੋਊ ਭਉਹ ਮਨੋ ਅਖੀਯਾ ਸਮ ਗਾਸੀ ॥
main kee maano saan banee doaoo bhauh mano akheeyaa sam gaasee |Those, whose body was like gold and beauty like moon, those, whose glory was like that of the god of love and both of whose eyebrows were like arrows
ਦੇਖਤ ਜਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁਖ ਹੋ ਨਹਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਹੋਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ॥
dekhat jaa at hee sukh ho neh dekhat hee tih hot udaasee |Seeing which gives great happiness and not seeing causes sadness.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਸਿ ਪੈ ਜਲ ਕੀ ਮਨੋ ਕੰਜ ਮੁਖੀ ਭਈ ਸੂਕਿ ਜਰਾ ਸੀ ॥੮੧੧॥
sayaam binaa sas pai jal kee mano kanj mukhee bhee sook jaraa see |811|On seeing whom, there was attainment of extreme happiness and not seeing whom, the mind experienced sorrow, those gopis withered away like the apodal in water without the moonbeams.811.
ਰਥ ਊਪਰਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚੜਾਇ ਕੈ ਸੋ ਸੰਗਿ ਲੈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪ ਤਹਾ ਕੋ ਗਏ ਹੈ ॥
rath aoopar sayaam charraae kai so sang lai sabh gop tahaa ko ge hai |Taking all the gopas with him in chariots, Krishna left
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨੀਯਾ ਸੁ ਰਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਸੁ ਸੋਕ ਭਏ ਹੈ ॥
gvaaraneeyaa su rahee grih mai jin ke man beech su sok bhe hai |The gopis remained within their homes and the suffering of their mind increased abundantly
ਠਾਢਿ ਉਡੀਕਤ ਗੋਪਿ ਜਹਾ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਦੋਊ ਏ ਸੋ ਅਏ ਹੈ ॥
tthaadt uddeekat gop jahaa tih tthaur bikhai doaoo e so ae hai |The place where the gopis had gathered together and were waiting for Krishna, both the brothers, Krishna and Balram, went there
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਸਸਿ ਸੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਤਨ ਰੂਪ ਛਏ ਹੈ ॥੮੧੨॥
sundar hai sas se jin ke mukh kanchan se tan roop chhe hai |812|The faces of both the brothers were beautiful like moon and the bodies like gold.812.
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਕਿਧੌ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਪੈ ਗਏ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਲੋਕ ਸਬੈ ॥
jab hee akraoor ke sang kidhau jamunaa pai ge brij lok sabai |When Akrur reached on the bank of Yamuna w3ith all the people, then seeing the love of all, Akrur repented in his mind
ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਕਰੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਹਮਹੂੰ ਸੁ ਅਬੈ ॥
akraoor hee chint karee man mai at paap kariyo hamahoon su abai |He thought that he had sinned profusely in taking away Krishna from that place
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਤਜ ਕੈ ਰਥ ਬੀਚ ਧਸਿਯੋ ਜਲ ਕੇ ਸੰਧਿਆ ਕਰਬੇ ਕੋ ਤਬੈ ॥
tab hee taj kai rath beech dhasiyo jal ke sandhiaa karabe ko tabai |Only then did he leave the chariot (Akrur) and enter the water at once to make the dusk.
ਇਹ ਕੋ ਮਰਿ ਹੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੰਸ ਬਲੀ ਜੁ ਭਈ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਚਿੰਤ ਜਬੈ ॥੮੧੩॥
eih ko mar hai nrip kans balee ju bhee ih kee at chint jabai |813|Thinking like this, he entered the river-water for sandhya prayer and got worried on reflecting that the mighty Kansa would then kill Krishna.813.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਨਾਤ ਜਬੈ ਅਕ੍ਰੂਰ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
naat jabai akraoor man har ko kariyo bichaar |When Akrur contemplated (killing) Sri Krishna while taking bath
ਤਬ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਜਲ ਮੈ ਤਬੈ ਦਰਸਨ ਦਯੋ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੮੧੪॥
tab tih ko jal mai tabai darasan dayo muraar |814|While taking bath, when Akrur remembered Lored Krishna, then the Lord (Murari) manifested himself in real form.814.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਮੁੰਡ ਹਜਾਰ ਭੁਜਾ ਸਹਸੇ ਦਸ ਸੇਸ ਕੇ ਆਸਨ ਪੈ ਸੁ ਬਿਰਾਜੈ ॥
mundd hajaar bhujaa sahase das ses ke aasan pai su biraajai |Akruru saw that Krishna, with thousands of heads and thousands of arms, was seated on the bed of Sheshanaga
ਪੀਤ ਲਸੈ ਪਟ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਕਰੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਕਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਨੰਦਗ ਛਾਜੈ ॥
peet lasai patt chakr karai jih ke kar bheetar nandag chhaajai |He has worn the yellow garments and had the disc and sword in his hands
ਬੀਚ ਤਬੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਸਾਧਹਿ ਕੇ ਹਰਬੇ ਡਰ ਕਾਜੈ ॥
beech tabai jamunaa pragattiyo fun saadheh ke harabe ddar kaajai |In the same form Krishna manifested himself to Akrur in Yamuna
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਜਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਘਟ ਸਾਵਨ ਲਾਜੈ ॥੮੧੫॥
jaa ko kariyo sabh hee jag hai jih dekhat hee ghatt saavan laajai |815|Akrur saw that Krishna, the remover of the sorrows of the saints, has under his control the whole world and he has such brilliance that the coulds of Sawan are feeling shy.815.
ਜਲ ਤੇ ਕਢ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਖ ਕੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੋ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਮਨ ਆਨੰਦ ਪਾਈ ॥
jal te kadt kai man mai sukh kai mathuraa ko chaliyo man aanand paaee |Then Akrur, coming out of water and in great comfort, started towards Mathura
ਧਾਇ ਗਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਪੁਰ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਨ ਕੀ ਨ ਕਰੀ ਦੁਚਿਤਾਈ ॥
dhaae gayo nrip ke pur mai har maaran kee na karee duchitaaee |He ran to the palace of the king and he now had not fear of Krishna being killed
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰਨ ਕੋ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੀ ਜੁਰੀ ਸਭ ਆਨਿ ਲੁਕਾਈ ॥
kaanrah ko roop nihaaran ko mathuraa kee juree sabh aan lukaaee |Seeing the beauty of Krishna, all the inhabitants of Mathura gathered together in order to have a look at him
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਛੂ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਹੋ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਸੋਊ ਪਾਰ ਪਰਾਈ ॥੮੧੬॥
jaa ke kachhoo tan mai dukh ho har dekhat hee soaoo paar paraaee |816|The person, who had any slight ailment in his body, the same was removed on seeing Krishna.816.
ਹਰਿ ਆਗਮ ਕੀ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਬਤੀਆ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਕੀ ਸਭੈ ਤ੍ਰੀਅ ਧਾਈ ॥
har aagam kee sun kai bateea utth kai mathuraa kee sabhai treea dhaaee |Hearing about the arrival of Krishna, all the women of Mathura ran (to have his sight)
ਆਵਤ ਥੋ ਰਥ ਬੀਚ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਚਲਿ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੋਊ ਆਈ ॥
aavat tho rath beech charriyo chal kai tih tthaur bikhai soaoo aaee |The direction in which the chariot was going, all of them gathered there,
ਮੂਰਤਿ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਆਨਨ ਓਰ ਰਹੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
moorat dekh kai reejh rahee har aanan or rahee liv laaee |They were pleased to see the winsome elegance of Krishna and kept seeing only towards that side
ਸੋਕ ਕਥਾ ਜਿਤਨੀ ਮਨ ਥੀ ਇਹ ਓਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਦਈ ਬਿਸਰਾਈ ॥੮੧੭॥
sok kathaa jitanee man thee ih or nihaar dee bisaraaee |817|Whatever sorrow they had in their mind, the same was removed on seeing Krishna.817.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਸਮ ਸਿਕੰਧੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਨੰਦ ਅਉ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ ਕਰਣੰ ॥
eit sree dasam sikandhe puraane bachitr naattak granthe krisanaavataare kaanrah joo nand aau gopin sahit mathuraa praves karanan |End of the chapter entitled “The arrival of Krishna in Mathura alongwith Nand and gopas” in Krishnavatar (based on Dasham Skandh Purana) in Bachittar Natak.

mathuraa pur kee prabhaa kab man mai kahee bichaar |The poet after reflection has described the beauty of the city of Mathura
ਸੋਭਾ ਜਿਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਸੁ ਕਬਿ ਕਰਿ ਨਹਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥੮੧੮॥
sobhaa jih dekhat su kab kar neh sakat uchaar |818|Its glory is such that the poets cannot describe.818.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਜਿਹ ਕੀ ਜਟਿਤ ਨਗ ਭੀਤਰ ਹੈ ਦਮਕੈ ਦੁਤਿ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਬਿਜੁ ਛਟਾ ॥
jih kee jattit nag bheetar hai damakai dut maanahu bij chhattaa |The city studded with gems looks like the flash of lightning
ਜਮੁਨਾ ਜਿਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਤੀਰ ਬਹੈ ਸੁ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਟਾ ॥
jamunaa jih sundar teer bahai su biraajat hai jih bhaat attaa |The river Yamuna flows by its side and its parts look splendid
ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਜਿਹ ਦੇਖਤ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਰਿਝਵੈ ਪਿਖਿ ਤਾ ਧਰ ਸੀਸ ਜਟਾ ॥
brahamaa jih dekhat reejh rahai rijhavai pikh taa dhar sees jattaa |Seeing it Shiva and Brahma are getting pleased
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਮ ਸੁ ਬਾਤ ਕਰੈ ਸੰਗ ਮੇਘ ਘਟਾ ॥੮੧੯॥
eih bhaat prabhaa dhar hai pur dhaam su baat karai sang megh ghattaa |819|The houses in the city are so high, that they seem to touch the clouds.819.
ਹਰਿ ਆਵਤ ਥੋ ਮਗ ਬੀਚ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਕੋ ਧੁਬੀਆ ਮਗ ਏਕ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
har aavat tho mag beech chaliyo rip ko dhubeea mag ek nihaariyo |When Krishna was going, he saw a washerman in the way
ਜਉ ਸੁ ਗਹੇ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਪਟ ਤਉ ਕੁਪਿ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੋ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jau su gahe tih te patt tau kup kai nrip ko tih naam uchaariyo |When Krishna took away the clothes from him, he, in anger, began to cry for the king
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਤਬੈ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਸੰਗ ਅੰਗੁਲਿਕਾ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
kaanrah tabai ris kai man mai sang angulikaa tih ke mukh maario |Krishna, getting enraged in his mind, slapped him
ਇਉ ਗਿਰ ਗਯੋ ਧਰਨੀ ਪਰ ਸੋ ਪਟ ਜਿਉ ਧੁਬੀਆ ਪਟ ਸੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ ॥੮੨੦॥
eiau gir gayo dharanee par so patt jiau dhubeea patt sang prahaario |820|After this beating, he fell dead on the ground like a washerman throwing the clothes on the earth.820.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਰਿਪੁ ਧੁਬੀਆ ਕਹੁ ਕੂਟਿ ॥
sabh gvaaran so har kahee rip dhubeea kahu koott |Shri Krishna told all the Gwalas to give Kutapa Char to the washerman of Vari (Kans).
ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸਕਲ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਲੂਟਿ ॥੮੨੧॥
basatr jite nrip ke sakal lehu sabhan ko loott |821|After beating the washerman, Krishna said to all the gopas to loot all the clothes of the king.821.
ਸੋਰਠਾ ॥

ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੇ ਗ੍ਵਾਰ ਅਜਾਨ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਪਹਿਰ ਜਾਨਤ ਨਹੀ ॥
brij ke gvaar ajaan basatr pahir jaanat nahee |The ignorant gopas of Braja did not know the wearing of those clothes
ਬਾਕਾਤਾ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਆਨਿ ਚੀਰ ਪੈਨ੍ਰਹਾਏ ਤਿਨ ਤਨੈ ॥੮੨੨॥
baakaataa treea aan cheer painrahaae tin tanai |822|The wife of the washerman came to get them wear the clothes.822.
ਰਾਜਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਛਤ ਬਾਚ ਸੁਕ ਸੋ ॥
raajaa preechhat baach suk so |Speech of king Parikshat addressed to Shuka:
