ਬਹੁਰਿ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਸੌ ਤਿਹ ਬਰਾ ॥੮॥
bahur suyanbar sau tih baraa |8|And then showered him (Pritam) through the water. 8.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਸਤਾਨਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੯੭॥੭੦੫੧॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਪਲਵਲ ਦੇਸ ਹੁਤਾ ਇਕ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
palaval des hutaa ik raajaa |There used to be a king in Palval country,
ਜਿਹ ਸਮਾਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਸਾਜਾ ॥
jih samaan bidh avar na saajaa |The likes of which no one else had been created by Vidhata.
ਤੜਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਰਿ ਭਨਿਜੈ ॥
tarritaa de tih naar bhanijai |His wife of Tarita (Dei) used to say,
ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੂਰ ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਨ ਕਹਿਜੈ ॥੧॥
chandr soor jih sam na kahijai |1|The like of whom was not even called the sun and the moon. 1.
ਅਲਿਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਸੁਤਾ ਬਖਨਿਯਤ ॥
alikrit de tih sutaa bakhaniyat |His daughter's name was Alikritde (Dei).
ਅਮਿਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਪਹਿਚਨਿਯਤ ॥
amit roop vaa ke pahichaniyat |Her form was very beautiful.
ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਇਕ ਸੌਦਾਗਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
tih tthaa ik sauadaagar aayo |A merchant came to that place,
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੂਜੋ ਨ ਬਨਾਯੋ ॥੨॥
jih sam bidh doojo na banaayo |2|The creator did not create another like him. 2.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਲਖਿ ਅੰਗਾ ॥
raaj kuar taa ke lakh angaa |Raj Kumari seeing her body
ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਚ ਰੀਝੀ ਸਰਬੰਗਾ ॥
man kram bach reejhee sarabangaa |By mind, escape and action, he became angry in every way.
ਪਠੈ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਲੀਅਸਿ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
patthai sahacharee leeas bulaae |He sent (his) sakhi and called him
ਕਹਤ ਭਈ ਬਤਿਯਾ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ॥੩॥
kahat bhee batiyaa musakaae |3|And started laughing and talking. 3.
ਅਧਿਕ ਭੋਗ ਤਿਹ ਸਾਥ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
adhik bhog tih saath machaayo |He played with him a lot
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਰਸ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat ras kel kamaayo |And made a bunch of bananas.
ਚੁੰਬਨ ਔਰ ਅਲਿੰਗਨ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
chunban aauar alingan leeno |Kisses and hugs taken
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਸੁਖ ਦੀਨੋ ॥੪॥
bhaat anik triy ko sukh deeno |4|And gave pleasure to the woman in many ways. 4.
ਜਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚਿਤ ਤਵਨੈ ਹਰ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
jab triy chit tavanai har liyo |When he (the merchant) stole the woman's image,
ਤਬ ਅਸ ਚਰਿਤ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
tab as charit chanchalaa kiyo |Then the woman behaved like this.
ਤਾਤ ਮਾਤ ਦੋਇ ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਏ ॥
taat maat doe bol patthaae |He called both (his) parents
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੌ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥੫॥
eih bidh tin sau bachan sunaae |5|And speak to them like this. 5.
ਮੈ ਅਬ ਲਗਿ ਨਹਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਈ ॥
mai ab lag neh teerath anrahaaee |I have not done the pilgrimage till now,
ਅਬ ਤੀਰਥ ਕਰਿ ਹੌ ਤਹ ਜਾਈ ॥
ab teerath kar hau tah jaaee |Now I will go to the shrines and take a bath.
ਜੌ ਆਇਸ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਪਾਊ ॥
jau aaeis tum te mai paaoo |If I get your permission,
ਤੀਰਥ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਇ ਸਕਲ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਊ ॥੬॥
teerath nrahaae sakal fir aaoo |6|Then I will return after bathing in all the shrines. 6.
ਪਤਿ ਕੁਰੂਪ ਹਮ ਕਹ ਤੁਮ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
pat kuroop ham kah tum diyo |You have given me an ugly husband.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੈ ਉਪਾਇ ਇਮਿ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
taa te mai upaae im kiyo |So I have taken this measure.
ਜੌ ਮੁਰ ਪਤਿ ਸਭ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹੈ ਹੈ ॥
jau mur pat sabh teerath anrahai hai |If my husband will take bath on all the shrines
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਧਿਕ ਕਾਇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
sundar adhik kaae hvai jai hai |7|Then his body will become more beautiful.7.
ਲੈ ਆਗ੍ਯਾ ਪਤਿ ਸਹਿਤ ਸਿਧਾਈ ॥
lai aagayaa pat sahit sidhaaee |(That Raj Kumari) took permission and went with her husband
ਭਾਤ ਭਾਤ ਤੀਰਥਨ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat teerathan anrahaaee |And bathed in various shrines.
ਘਾਤ ਪਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਨਾਥ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ॥
ghaat paae kar naath sanghaaraa |She took the opportunity and killed her husband
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਠੌਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਬੈਠਾਰਾ ॥੮॥
taa kee tthauar mitr baitthaaraa |8|And made (his) friend sit in his place. 8.
ਅਪਨੇ ਧਾਮ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਈ ॥
apane dhaam bahur fir aaee |Then she returned to her home
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਹਿ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਜਤਾਈ ॥
maat piteh ih bhaat jataaee |And said thus unto the parents,
ਮੁਰ ਪਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਤੀਰਥਨ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਯੋ ॥
mur pat at teerathan anrahayo |My husband has taken bath at many shrines.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਪੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥੯॥
taa te bap sundar hvai gayo |9|Therefore (his) body has become beautiful. 9.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਹਮ ਤੀਰਥ ਅਨ੍ਰਹਾਏ ॥
bhaat bhaat ham teerath anrahaae |We have bathed in many shrines
ਅਨਿਕ ਬਿਧਵ ਤਨ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਜਿਵਾਏ ॥
anik bidhav tan bipr jivaae |And fed the Brahmins in many ways.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਦੈਵ ਆਪੁ ਬਰ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
taa te daiv aap bar diyo |By doing this, God himself gave rain
ਮਮ ਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਪੁ ਕਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
mam pat ko sundar bap kiyo |10|And made my husband's body beautiful. 10.
ਯਹ ਕਾਹੂ ਨਰ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਪਾਈ ॥
yah kaahoo nar baat na paaee |No one has discovered this
ਕਹਾ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਆਈ ॥
kahaa karam kar kai triy aaee |What has the woman done?
ਤੀਰਥ ਮਹਾਤਮ ਸਭਹੂੰ ਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ ॥
teerath mahaatam sabhahoon jaanayo |Everyone considered (this transformation) the greatest of the pilgrimage
ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਨ ਕਿਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨ੍ਯੋ ॥੧੧॥
bhed abhed na kinoo pachhaanayo |11|And no one understood the difference. 11.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਤੀਨ ਸੌ ਅਠਾਨਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੩੯੮॥੭੦੬੨॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
