ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਹੁਐ ਗਿਰੇ ਨ ਪਗ ਪਾਛੇ ਫਿਰੇ ॥
ttook ttook huaai gire na pag paachhe fire |Holding their swords in their hands, the warriors of both the side, fought with one another in the battlefield. They fell, having been chopped into bits, but still they did not retrace their steps.
ਅੰਗਨਿ ਸੋਭੇ ਘਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਬਢੇ ॥
angan sobhe ghaae prabhaa at hee badte |Their beauty was greatly enhanced by the wounds on the bodies.
ਹੋ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਮਨੋ ਛਿਟਕਾਇ ਜਨੇਤੀ ਸੇ ਚਢੇ ॥੧੦॥
ho basatr mano chhittakaae janetee se chadte |10|Having been wounded, their increased still further and they appeared like the members of the marriage party walking and exhibiting their dressers.10.

ਅਨਹਦ ਬਜੇ ॥
anahad baje |The trumpets sounded,
ਧੁਣ ਘਣ ਲਜੇ ॥
dhun ghan laje |Hearing the resounding of the trumpets, the clouds are feeling shy.
ਘਣ ਹਣ ਘੋਰੰ ॥
ghan han ghoran |The echo that arose from the beating of the sticks,
ਜਣ ਬਣ ਮੋਰੰ ॥੧੧॥
jan ban moran |11|The army is swelling forward like the clouds, from all the four side, and it appears that there is a large gathering of peacocks in the forest.11.
ਮਧੁਰ ਧੁਨਿ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਢਲ ਹਲ ਢਾਲੰ ॥
dtal hal dtaalan |The shields (inj) were shining
ਜਿਮ ਗੁਲ ਲਾਲੰ ॥
jim gul laalan |The luster of the shields appears like the red roses.
ਖੜ ਭੜ ਬੀਰੰ ॥
kharr bharr beeran |A tumult (was created) among the warriors.
ਤੜ ਸੜ ਤੀਰੰ ॥੧੨॥
tarr sarr teeran |12|The movement of warriors and the shooting of arrows are creating different distinct sounded.12.
ਰੁਣ ਝੁਣ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
run jhun baaje |The kings were busy,
ਜਣ ਘਣ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
jan ghan gaaje |Such a sound is being heard in the battlefield as if the clouds are thundering.
ਢੰਮਕ ਢੋਲੰ ॥
dtamak dtolan |Drums were beating.
ਖੜ ਰੜ ਖੋਲੰ ॥੧੩॥
kharr rarr kholan |13|The resounding of the drums and the sound of the empty quivers is also being hard.13.
ਥਰ ਹਰ ਕੰਪੈ ॥
thar har kanpai |The timid thar-thar trembled
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੰਪੈ ॥
har har janpai |The warriors are battled and seeing the dreadful war, they are mediating upon the Lord-God.
ਰਣ ਰੰਗ ਰਤੇ ॥
ran rang rate |Warriors were dressed in war colors,
ਜਣ ਗਣ ਮਤੇ ॥੧੪॥
jan gan mate |14|All are absorbed in the war and are submerged in the thoughts of war.14.
ਥਰਕਤ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
tharakat sooran |The warriors trembled
ਨਿਰਖਤ ਹੂਰੰ ॥
nirakhat hooran |The brave fighters are moving hither and thither and the heavenly damsels are looking at them.
