ਮੁਹਕਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਏਕ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਹ ॥
muhakam singh ek chhatree jah |There was a tent called Muhkam,
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਉਪਜਾ ਦੁਤਿਯ ਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਹ ॥
jih sam upajaa dutiy na meh mah |Like whom no one else was born on earth.
ਰਾਨੀ ਜਬ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
raanee jab taa ko lakh paayo |When the queen saw him,
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥੨॥
kaam bhog grih bol kamaayo |2|So called home and reconciled (with him). 2.
ਤਬ ਲਗਿ ਆਇ ਗਯੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਤਹ ॥
tab lag aae gayo raajaa tah |By then the king came there
ਜਾਰ ਹੁਤੋ ਭੋਗਤ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਜਹ ॥
jaar huto bhogat taa kau jah |Where the friend was consorting with him.
ਨਿਰਖ ਨਾਥ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
nirakh naath triy charitr bichaaraa |Seeing her husband, the woman considered (in her mind) his character.
ਹਾਰ ਤੋਰਿ ਅੰਗਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਡਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
haar tor anganaa meh ddaaraa |3|He broke the (neck) necklace and threw it in the courtyard. 3.
ਬਿਹਸਿ ਬਚਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੰਗ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
bihas bachan nrip sang uchaaraa |(She) laughed and said to the king
ਖੋਜਿ ਹਾਰ ਤੁਮ ਦੇਹੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
khoj haar tum dehu hamaaraa |May you find my necklace.
ਆਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਜੌ ਹਾਥ ਲਗੈ ਹੈ ॥
aan purakh jau haath lagai hai |If another man reaches out (to find her),
ਤੌ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਹਿਰਨ ਤੇ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
tau hamare pahiran te jai hai |4|Then he will not be able to drink water from me. 4.
ਖੋਜਤ ਭਯੋ ਜੜ ਹਾਰ ਅਯਾਨੋ ॥
khojat bhayo jarr haar ayaano |He started looking for a stupid necklace
ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਨੀਚ ਕਰਿ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ॥
netr neech kar bhed na jaano |Eyes downcast, but he did not perceive the secret.
ਨਾਰਿ ਆਗੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮੀਤ ਨਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
naar aage hvai meet nikaaraa |The woman stepped forward and removed the friend.
ਸਿਰ ਨੀਚੇ ਪਸੁ ਤਿਹ ਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਾ ॥੫॥

paharik lage khoj jarr haaro |It took a while to find the necklace
ਲੈ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹ ਦਯੋ ਸੁਧਾਰੋ ॥
lai raanee kah dayo sudhaaro |And (finally) found it and gave it to the queen.
ਅਤਿ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਾ ਤਾਹਿ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥
at patibrataa taeh tthaharaayo |(The king) considered him to be extremely brilliant
ਦੁਤਿਯ ਪੁਰਖ ਜਿਨ ਕਰ ਨ ਛੁਆਯੋ ॥੬॥
dutiy purakh jin kar na chhuaayo |6|Who did not let the other man touch (until the necklace). 6.

ਨ੍ਰਿਪਬਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਏਕ ਰਾਜਾਨਾ ॥

ਮਾਨਤ ਆਨਿ ਦੇਸ ਜਿਹ ਨਾਨਾ ॥
maanat aan des jih naanaa |Whom Ein believed to be very country.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਿਲਕੰਚਿਤ ਦੇ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
sree kilakanchit de tih raanee |He had a queen named (Dei) of Kilkanchit,
ਜਾਹਿ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਪੁਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਰਿਸਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
jaeh nirakh pur naar risaanee |1|Seeing whom the women of the city used to get irritated. 1.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਬਰਵਤੀ ਨਗਰ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਜਤ ॥
nripabaravatee nagar tih raajat |There used to be a town called Nripbarvati.
ਦੁਤਿਯ ਪ੍ਰਿਥੀ ਜਨੁ ਸੁਰਗ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ॥
dutiy prithee jan surag biraajat |(Which) is like a second heaven on earth.
ਨਗਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
nagar prabhaa neh jaat bakhaanee |The beauty of (that) city cannot be boasted.
ਥਕਿਤ ਰਹਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੨॥
thakit rahat raajaa ar raanee |2|Seeing her beauty, the king and the queen used to get tired. 2.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਿਤਚੌਪ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੰਨ੍ਯਾ ॥
sree chitachauap matee tih kanayaa |His daughter's name was Chitchop Mati
ਜਿਹ ਸਮ ਨਾਰਿ ਨ ਉਪਜੀ ਅੰਨ੍ਰਯਾ ॥
jih sam naar na upajee anrayaa |Like whom no other woman was born.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਉਪਮਾ ਕਰੀ ॥
taa kee jaat na upamaa karee |Her (beauty) cannot be compared.
ਰੂਪ ਰਾਸ ਜੋਬਨ ਤਨ ਭਰੀ ॥੩॥
roop raas joban tan bharee |3|(He) was the essence of the form (and his) body was full of Joban. 3.
ਰਾਜ ਕੁਅਰ ਇਕ ਹੁਤੋ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
raaj kuar ik huto apaaraa |There used to be a great Rajkumar.
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਨਿਕਸਾ ਨਿਮਿਤਿ ਸਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
eik din nikasaa nimit sikaaraa |(He) went out to play hunting one day.
ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਹਿਤ ਧਯੋ ਨ ਪਹੁਚਾ ਕੋਈ ॥
mrig hit dhayo na pahuchaa koee |(He) ran for the deer, but no companion arrived
ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਨਗਰ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥
aavat bhayo nagar tih soee |4|And he came to that city. 4.
ਰਾਜ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਿਹ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰੋ ॥
raaj sutaa tih roop nihaaro |Raj Kumari saw his form
ਮਨ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਬਚ ਅਸ ਕਰਾ ਬਿਚਾਰੋ ॥
man kram bach as karaa bichaaro |And thinking like this, having saved the mind.
ਐਸੋ ਛੈਲ ਏਕ ਦਿਨ ਪੈਯੈ ॥
aaiso chhail ek din paiyai |If such a handsome man is obtained one day,
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਪਲ ਪਲ ਬਲਿ ਜੈਯੈ ॥੫॥
janam janam pal pal bal jaiyai |5|So I will go from birth to birth from moment to moment. 5.
ਅਟਿਕ ਸਿੰਘ ਲਖਿ ਤੇਜ ਸਵਾਯਾ ॥
attik singh lakh tej savaayaa |Seeing Atiq Singh (the king's) glory,
ਥਕਿਤ ਰਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੀ ਜਾਯਾ ॥
thakit rahee raajaa kee jaayaa |The king's son was tired.
ਪਠੈ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਲਿਯੋ ਮਗਾਇ ॥
patthai sahacharee liyo magaae |(He) sent Sakhi and asked for him
ਕਾਮ ਭੋਗ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨੁਪਜਾਇ ॥੬॥
kaam bhog ruch maanupajaae |6|And worked with him with interest. 6.
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਹਰ ਨਿਸੁ ਕਿਯਾ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
chaar pahar nis kiyaa bilaasaa |Leaving the fear of parents
ਤਜਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋ ਤ੍ਰਾਸਾ ॥
taj kar maat pitaa ko traasaa |Had sex till four o'clock in the night.
