ਰਾਨੀ ਮਰਤ ਮੀਤ ਕੇ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
raanee marat meet ke maare |That the queen will be killed by the friends.
ਰਾਨੀ ਮਰੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਰਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
raanee marai raajaa mar jai hai |The king will die when the queen dies
ਹਮਰੇ ਕਹਾ ਹਾਥ ਧਨੁ ਐ ਹੈ ॥੧੯॥
hamare kahaa haath dhan aai hai |19|And where will our money come from? 19.
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਲੋਭ ਰਛਕਨ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
at hee lobh rachhakan kiyo |The guards were very greedy
ਰਾਜਾ ਸੰਗ ਭੇਦ ਨਹਿ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
raajaa sang bhed neh diyo |And did not tell the secret to the king.
ਸਹਿਤ ਜਾਰ ਰਾਨਿਯਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sahit jaar raaniyeh na maariyo |Did not kill the queen with allies
ਧਨ ਕੇ ਲੋਭ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਟਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੦॥
dhan ke lobh baat ko ttaariyo |20|And because of greed for money, he postponed the matter. 20.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਛਠਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੦੬॥੩੮੯੬॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥

ਰਾਜਾ ਕੌਚ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਕੋ ਬੀਰ ਦਤ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ॥
raajaa kauach bihaar ko beer dat tih naam |The name of the King of Kooch (Cooch) Bihar was Bir Dutt.
ਅਮਿਤ ਦਰਬੁ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰਹੈ ਬਸਤੁ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਪੁਰ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
amit darab taa ke rahai basat indr pur graam |1|He had a lot of wealth and lived in Indrapur Nagar. 1.

ਮੁਸਕ ਮਤੀ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਬਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
musak matee taa kee bar naaree |His mistress was a beautiful woman named Mati.
ਜਨੁ ਰਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਭਈ ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
jan rat pat ke bhee kumaaree |Suppose Rati's husband (Kam Dev) has a daughter.
ਕਾਮ ਕਲਾ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਤਿਹ ਸੋਹੈ ॥
kaam kalaa duhitaa tih sohai |He had a daughter named Kam Kala
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵਨ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਮੋਹੈ ॥੨॥
dev adevan ko man mohai |2|Who was enthralled by the gods and demons. 2.
ਜੋ ਪੁਰ ਚਹੈ ਤਿਸੀ ਕੌ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
jo pur chahai tisee kau maarai |She used to kill whoever she wanted in the city.
ਅਕਬਰ ਕੀ ਕਛੁ ਕਾਨਿ ਨ ਧਾਰੈ ॥
akabar kee kachh kaan na dhaarai |Even Akbar did not care.
ਦੇਸ ਤਲਟੀ ਬਸਨ ਨਹਿ ਦੇਵਹਿ ॥
des talattee basan neh deveh |The foothills did not allow anyone to settle in the area
ਲੂਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਸੌਦਾਗ੍ਰਨ ਲੇਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
loott koott sauadaagran leveh |3|And looted the traders. 3.
ਅਕਬਰ ਸਾਹਿ ਕੋਪ ਅਤਿ ਆਯੋ ॥
akabar saeh kop at aayo |King Akbar got very angry
ਤਿਨ ਪੈ ਬੈਰਿਨ ਓਘ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
tin pai bairin ogh patthaayo |And attacked him with enemy forces.
ਜੋਰਿ ਸੈਨਿ ਸੂਰਾ ਸਭ ਧਾਏ ॥
jor sain sooraa sabh dhaae |All the warriors joined the army and lay down
ਪਹਿਰਿ ਕੌਚ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਬਜਾਏ ॥੪॥
pahir kauach dundabhee bajaae |4|And put on armor and sounded the bells. 4.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਕੌਚ ਬਿਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਟ ਪਹੂੰਚੇ ਆਇ ॥
jab hee kauach bihaar ke nikatt pahoonche aae |When they came near Couch Bihar
ਲਿਖਿ ਪਤਿਯਾ ਐਸੇ ਪਠੀ ਰਣ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਬਜਾਇ ॥੫॥
likh patiyaa aaise patthee ran dundabhee bajaae |5|(Then) they sent a letter like this (to the king) by ringing the bell of Ran.5.
ਕੈ ਹਮ ਕੌ ਮਿਲੁ ਆਇ ਕੈ ਪਤੀਆ ਲਿਖੀ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ॥
kai ham kau mil aae kai pateea likhee sudhaar |It is well written in the letter that either by coming
ਕੈ ਪਗੁ ਪਰੁ ਕੈ ਅਨਤ ਟਰੁ ਕੈ ਲਰੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ॥੬॥
kai pag par kai anat ttar kai lar sasatr sanbhaar |6|Pari Pai or go somewhere else or (then) take care of the armor. 6.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਜਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ ਸੌ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab nrip ke sravanan sau pariyo |When the king heard this
ਭਾਜਿ ਚਲਤ ਭਯੋ ਧੀਰ ਨ ਧਰਿਯੋ ॥
bhaaj chalat bhayo dheer na dhariyo |So he ran away, not having patience.
ਮੁਸਕ ਮਤੀ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
musak matee jab hee sun paaee |When Mushka Mati heard this
ਬਾਧਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਦੁੰਦਭੀ ਬਜਾਈ ॥੭॥
baadh nripeh dundabhee bajaaee |7|So the king was tied up and sounded the bell. 7.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤੇ ਸੈਨਿ ਸੰਭਾਰੀ ॥
bhaat bhaat te sain sanbhaaree |In many ways (he) prepared the army
ਮਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਹੰਕਾਰੀ ॥
maare soorabeer hankaaree |and slew the proud warriors.
ਰਾਜਾ ਕਿਤੇ ਬਾਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨੇ ॥
raajaa kite baadh kar leene |(He) tied how many kings
ਜਾਇ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਕੇ ਬਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥੮॥
jaae bhavaanee ke bal deene |8|And went and sacrificed Bhavani. 8.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਦਲਦਲ ਏਕ ਤਕਾਇ ਕੈ ਦਯੋ ਦਮਾਮੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
daladal ek takaae kai dayo damaamo jaae |Seeing a swampy area, he went (there) and shouted.
ਸੁਨਤ ਨਾਦ ਸੂਰਾ ਸਭੈ ਤਹੀ ਪਰੇ ਅਰਰਾਇ ॥੯॥
sunat naad sooraa sabhai tahee pare araraae |9|All the warriors (of the enemy party) fell down screaming after hearing the shout. 9.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਜੌ ਧਾਏ ਫਸਿ ਫਸਿ ਤੇ ਗਏ ॥
jau dhaae fas fas te ge |Those who moved (that way) got stuck in the swamp.
ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਤੁਰਤ ਤੇ ਲਏ ॥
geh geh tarun turat te le |The woman immediately caught them.
ਸਕਲ ਕਾਲਿਕਾ ਕੀ ਬਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
sakal kaalikaa kee bal deene |All were sacrificed to Kalika.
ਬਾਜ ਤਾਜ ਸਭਹਿਨ ਕੇ ਛੀਨੇ ॥੧੦॥
baaj taaj sabhahin ke chheene |10|Everyone's crowns and horses were taken away. 10.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਏਕ ਭ੍ਰਿਤ ਤਿਹ ਭੀਤਰ ਪਠਿਯੋ ਬਨਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
