ਜਾਇ ਰਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਯਹੈ ਉਚਾਰੋ ॥
jaae raav prat yahai uchaaro |Go and say this (on our behalf) to the king
ਤਵ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੌ ਹਿਯੋ ਹਮਾਰੋ ॥੪॥
tav dekhan kau hiyo hamaaro |4|‘Go and tell the Raja that we wan ted to have the pleasure of meeting him.( 4)
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਚਨ ਰਾਵ ਤਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥
yau sun bachan raav tih aayo |Hearing these words, the king came there.
ਚਾਰਿ ਚਾਰਿ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬੈਠਾਯੋ ॥
chaar chaar bheetar baitthaayo |Getting such communication he came over, but on his way, he established the posts of four persons each.
ਤਿਨ ਆਯੁਧ ਦੇਖਨ ਕੌ ਲਏ ॥
tin aayudh dekhan kau le |Took to see their weapons.
ਹਾਥੋ ਹਾਥ ਕਾਢਿ ਕੈ ਦਏ ॥੫॥
haatho haath kaadt kai de |5|Then he requested Raja to show him his arms, and he readily agreed.(5)
ਆਯੁਧੁ ਕਾਢਿ ਐਸ ਬਿਧਿ ਦਏ ॥
aayudh kaadt aais bidh de |He thus removed the armor
ਜੋਰੇ ਏਕ ਬਨਾਵਤ ਭਏ ॥
jore ek banaavat bhe |He gave in all those and, then, ordered new clothes them.
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਾਹ ਸੀਵਿ ਦੋਊ ਲੀਨੀ ॥
jaa kee baah seev doaoo leenee |Both his arms were taken like this
ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਧੋ ਮੁਸਕੈ ਜਨ ਦੀਨੀ ॥੬॥
bin baadho musakai jan deenee |6|The sleeves of those were prepared such that, without tying even, the arms could not be moved.(6)
ਏਕ ਭਾਟ ਕੌ ਭੇਦ ਬਤਾਯੋ ॥
ek bhaatt kau bhed bataayo |By telling a secret to a Bhat
ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਪੈ ਕਹਾਯੋ ॥
raajaa ke mukh pai kahaayo |He trained a bard to say to Raja at his face,
ਜੋ ਸਭ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੈ ਮੁਝ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
jo sabh sasatr dai mujh ddaare |That if you give me all the armor
ਤੌ ਦਾਤਾ ਤੂ ਜਾਨ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੭॥
tau daataa too jaan hamaarai |7|‘If you give me all your arms, only then I will consider you benevolent person.’(7)
ਯਹ ਸੁਨਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੈ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
yah sun nripat sasatr dai ddaare |Hearing this, the king gave the armor.
ਹੋਰ ਰਹੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਨ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥
hor rahe mantreen nivaare |Acquiescing to the request, the Raja handed over the arms in spite of the warning of his ministers;
ਜਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਯੁਧ ਭਯੋ ॥
jaanayo nripat niraayudh bhayo |When the king became disarmed
ਬਾਗੋ ਆਨਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਪਹਿਰਯੋ ॥੮॥
baago aan taeh pahirayo |8|They had envisaged the fact, that the Raja could not use his arms now, as he was going to wear white clothes.(8)
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਸੋ ਬਾਗੋ ਪਹਿਰਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਬਾਹ ਕਢੀ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥
so baago pahiriyo nripat baah kadtee neh jaeh |Raja put that gown on, through which arms could not be taken out.
ਤੀਰ ਖਾਨ ਠਾਢੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਮੁਸਕੈ ਲਈ ਚਰਾਇ ॥੯॥
teer khaan tthaadto huto musakai lee charaae |9|Teer Khan, who was standing there, tied up his arms.(9)

ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰਾਜ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਤਹ ਭਾਰੋ ॥
sundar raaj putr tah bhaaro |(Khan said to the king) You are a beautiful royal son,
ਤੁਰਤ ਤੇਗ ਕਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੰਭਾਰੋ ॥
turat teg kah taeh sanbhaaro |(He said,) ‘You are a prince, come quick and strike a blow.’
ਤਮਕਿ ਵਾਰ ਤਾ ਤੁਰਕਹਿ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
tamak vaar taa turakeh kiyo |So that Turk attacked with anger
ਬਾਹਨ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਦੁਧਾ ਕਰਿ ਦਿਯੋ ॥੧੦॥
baahan duhoon dudhaa kar diyo |10|(As he could not,) Then the Turk struck and cut his both the arms.(10)

ਏਕ ਰਾਵ ਅਗਨਿਤ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਹ ਲਗਿ ਲਰੈ ਰਸਾਇ ॥
ek raav aganit turak kah lag larai rasaae |Raja was all alone, but the Turks were in great number.
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਭਏ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਏ ਬਜਾਇ ॥੧੧॥
sundar kau raajaa bhe maarat bhe bajaae |11|The handsome Raja was killed after challenges.(11)

ਜਲ ਕੇ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਇਕ ਜਾਯੋ ॥
jal ke asv asv ik jaayo |There was a horse born from a sea horse.
ਸੋ ਬਾਗਾ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੇ ਆਯੋ ॥
so baagaa raaje ke aayo |There was one (humanoid) horse, which was of good breed, it came near Raja.
ਚਰਵੇਦਾਰ ਤਾਹਿ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ॥
charavedaar taeh lai gayo |The shepherds took him there (to the palace).
ਭੇਦ ਰਾਨਿਯਨ ਕੌ ਲੈ ਦਯੋ ॥੧੨॥
bhed raaniyan kau lai dayo |12|He took the Raja’s one garment and disclosed everything to the Ranis.(12)

ਕੁੰਕਮ ਦੇ ਘਨਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਯੌ ਸ੍ਰਵਨਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
kunkam de ghanasaar de yau sravanan sun paae |Kookum and Ghansaar, both the Ranis, when heard this,
ਮਤੋ ਬੈਠਿ ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਕਿਯੋ ਜੂਝਿ ਮਰਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੧੩॥
mato baitth duhoonan kiyo joojh maran ke bhaae |13|They both decided to kill themselves fighting.(13)
ਜੌ ਹਮਰੇ ਪਤਿ ਲਰਿ ਮਰੇ ਸਮੁਹ ਬਦਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਣ ਖਾਇ ॥
jau hamare pat lar mare samuh badan brin khaae |‘If our husband has succumbed to the injuries inflicted to his body,
ਤੌ ਹਮ ਹੂੰ ਸਭ ਲਰਿ ਮਰੈ ਨਰ ਕੋ ਭੇਖ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੧੪॥
tau ham hoon sabh lar marai nar ko bhekh banaae |14|‘Then we all will die fighting disguised as men.’(14)

ਯਹੈ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਹੂੰਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
yahai mantr sabhahoon bichaariyo |Everyone considered this plan.
ਸਭ ਹੂੰ ਭੇਖ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੋ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
sabh hoon bhekh purakh ko dhaariyo |After scheming like this, they all disguised themselves as men,
ਏਕ ਦਿਸਾ ਕੁੰਕਮ ਦੇ ਗਈ ॥
ek disaa kunkam de gee |Kunkam Dei went in one direction
ਦੇ ਘਨਸਾਰ ਦੂਜ ਦਿਸਿ ਭਈ ॥੧੫॥
de ghanasaar dooj dis bhee |15|And planned Kookum to raid from one side and ,Ghansaar from the other.(15)

ਕੁੰਕਮ ਦੇ ਘਨਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੋਊ ਅਨੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
kunkam de ghanasaar de doaoo anee banaae |They all agreed to the plan and all of them put the clothes of men.
ਦੁਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਠਾਢੀ ਭਈ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੧੬॥
duhoon or tthaadtee bhee judh karan ke bhaae |16|From one side Kookum started and from the other Ghansaar.(l6)
