ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਗ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਕੁਮੰਤ੍ਰੰ ਬਿਚਾਰੰ ॥
kaarai laag mantran kumantran bichaaran |

(Then both) began to contemplate the Kumantra Rupa Mantra.

ਇਤੈ ਉਚਰੇ ਬੈਨ ਭ੍ਰਾਤੰ ਲੁਝਾਰੰ ॥੪੧੭॥
eitai uchare bain bhraatan lujhaaran |417|

They all held consultation together and talked to one another about the war.417.

ਜਲੰ ਗਾਗਰੀ ਸਪਤ ਸਾਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਪੂਰੰ ॥
jalan gaagaree sapat saahansr pooran |

With seven thousand gagars filled with water

ਮੁਖੰ ਪੁਛ ਲਯੋ ਕੁੰਭਕਾਨੰ ਕਰੂਰੰ ॥
mukhan puchh layo kunbhakaanan karooran |

Kumbhkaran used seven thousand metallic pitchers of water to cleanse his face

ਕੀਯੋ ਮਾਸਹਾਰੰ ਮਹਾ ਮਦਯ ਪਾਨੰ ॥
keeyo maasahaaran mahaa maday paanan |

Then ate meat and drank a lot of alcohol.

ਉਠਯੋ ਲੈ ਗਦਾ ਕੋ ਭਰਯੋ ਵੀਰ ਮਾਨੰ ॥੪੧੮॥
autthayo lai gadaa ko bharayo veer maanan |418|

He ate flesh to his fill and drank wine excessively. After all this that proud warrior got up with his mace and marched forware.418.

ਭਜੀ ਬਾਨਰੀ ਪੇਖ ਸੈਨਾ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
bhajee baanaree pekh sainaa apaaran |

Seeing (whom) the vast army of monkeys fled,

ਤ੍ਰਸੇ ਜੂਥ ਪੈ ਜੂਥ ਜੋਧਾ ਜੁਝਾਰੰ ॥
trase jooth pai jooth jodhaa jujhaaran |

Seeing him the innumerable army of monkeys fled away and many groups of gods became frightful

ਉਠੈ ਗਦ ਸਦੰ ਨਿਨਦੰਤਿ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
autthai gad sadan ninadant veeran |

The loud cries of the warriors started to rise

ਫਿਰੈ ਰੁੰਡ ਮੁੰਡੰ ਤਨੰ ਤਛ ਤੀਰੰ ॥੪੧੯॥
firai rundd munddan tanan tachh teeran |419|

The terrible shouts of the warriors were heard and the truncated bodies pared by the arrows were seen moving.419.

ਭੁਜੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਤ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang prayaat chhand |

BHUJANG PRAYAAT STANZA

ਗਿਰੈ ਮੁੰਡ ਤੁੰਡੰ ਭਸੁੰਡੰ ਗਜਾਨੰ ॥
girai mundd tunddan bhasunddan gajaanan |

The trunks and heads (of the warriors) and the trunks of the elephants were lying down.

ਫਿਰੈ ਰੁੰਡ ਮੁੰਡੰ ਸੁ ਝੁੰਡੰ ਨਿਸਾਨੰ ॥
firai rundd munddan su jhunddan nisaanan |

The chopped trunks of the elephants are falling down and the torn banners are swinging hither and thither

ਰੜੈ ਕੰਕ ਬੰਕੰ ਸਸੰਕੰਤ ਜੋਧੰ ॥
rarrai kank bankan sasankant jodhan |

Horrible crows crowed and warriors hissed.

ਉਠੀ ਕੂਹ ਜੂਹੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੈਣ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੰ ॥੪੨੦॥
autthee kooh joohan mile sain krodhan |420|

The beautiful horses are rolling down and are warriors are sobbing in the battlefield, there is terrible lamination in the whole field.420.

ਝਿਮੀ ਤੇਗ ਤੇਜੰ ਸਰੋਸੰ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੰ ॥
jhimee teg tejan sarosan prahaaran |

(Warriors) wielded sharp swords with fury.

ਖਿਮੀ ਦਾਮਨੀ ਜਾਣੁ ਭਾਦੋ ਮਝਾਰੰ ॥
khimee daamanee jaan bhaado majhaaran |

There are fast knocking of the blows, exhibiting the glitter of swords and it seems that the lightning is flashing in the month of Bhason

ਹਸੇ ਕੰਕ ਬੰਕੰ ਕਸੇ ਸੂਰਵੀਰੰ ॥
hase kank bankan kase sooraveeran |

The fierce crows laugh and the warriors prepare for war.

ਢਲੀ ਢਾਲ ਮਾਲੰ ਸੁਭੇ ਤਛ ਤੀਰੰ ॥੪੨੧॥
dtalee dtaal maalan subhe tachh teeran |421|

The beautiful horses carrying warriors as neighing and the rosary of shields alongwith the sharp shafts look impressive.421.

ਬਿਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
biraaj chhand |

BIRAAJ STANZA

ਹਕ ਦੇਬੀ ਕਰੰ ॥
hak debee karan |

The goddess (Kali) is calling out,

ਸਦ ਭੈਰੋ ਰਰੰ ॥
sad bhairo raran |

A terrible war began in order in order to appease the goddess Kali

ਚਾਵਡੀ ਚਿੰਕਰੰ ॥
chaavaddee chinkaran |

screams the witch,

ਡਾਕਣੀ ਡਿੰਕਰੰ ॥੪੨੨॥
ddaakanee ddinkaran |422|

And the Bhairvas began to shout the vultures shrieked and the vampires belched.422.

ਪਤ੍ਰ ਜੁਗਣ ਭਰੰ ॥
patr jugan bharan |

Yoga fills the heart,

ਲੁਥ ਬਿਥੁਥਰੰ ॥
luth bithutharan |

The bowls of Yoginis were being filled and the corpses scattered

ਸੰਮੁਹੇ ਸੰਘਰੰ ॥
samuhe sangharan |

A face-to-face war is taking place,

ਹੂਹ ਕੂਹੰ ਭਰੰ ॥੪੨੩॥
hooh koohan bharan |423|

The clusters were destroyed and there was tumult all around.423.

ਅਛਰੀ ਉਛਰੰ ॥
achharee uchharan |

Apes are excited,

ਸਿੰਧੁਰੈ ਸਿੰਧਰੰ ॥
sindhurai sindharan |

The heavenly damsels began to dance and the bugles sounded

ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੁਚਰੰ ॥
maar maarucharan |

(Warriors) chant Maro-Maro,

ਬਜ ਗਜੇ ਸੁਰੰ ॥੪੨੪॥
baj gaje suran |424|

, The shouts of “Kill, Kill” and the rustling of arrows were heard.424.

ਉਝਰੇ ਲੁਝਰੰ ॥
aujhare lujharan |

The fighters are tangled,

ਝੁਮਰੇ ਜੁਝਰੰ ॥
jhumare jujharan |

The warriors got entangled with one another and the fighters gushed forward

ਬਜੀਯੰ ਡੰਮਰੰ ॥
bajeeyan ddamaran |

Doru, on the tambourine

ਤਾਲਣੋ ਤੁੰਬਰੰ ॥੪੨੫॥
taalano tunbaran |425|

The tabors and other musical instruments were played in the battlefield.425.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਪਰੀ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
paree maar maaran |

There is a fight going on.

ਮੰਡੇ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
mandde sasatr dhaaran |

There were blows of arms and the edges of the weapons were sharpened

ਰਟੈ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
rattai maar maaran |

They speak (from the mouth) Maro-Maro.

ਤੁਟੈ ਖਗ ਧਾਰੰ ॥੪੨੬॥
tuttai khag dhaaran |426|

The warriors repeated the shouts of “kill, kill” and the edge of the spears began to break.426.

ਉਠੈ ਛਿਛ ਅਪਾਰੰ ॥
autthai chhichh apaaran |

Immense splashes arise

ਬਹੈ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
bahai sron dhaaran |

There was continuous flow of blood and it also spattered

ਹਸੈ ਮਾਸਹਾਰੰ ॥
hasai maasahaaran |

Meat eaters laugh.

ਪੀਐ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਸਯਾਰੰ ॥੪੨੭॥
peeai sron sayaaran |427|

The flesh-eaters smiled and the jackals drank blood.427.

ਗਿਰੇ ਚਉਰ ਚਾਰੰ ॥
gire chaur chaaran |

Sundar Chur has fallen.

ਭਜੇ ਏਕ ਹਾਰੰ ॥
bhaje ek haaran |

The beautiful fly-whiskers fell and on one side the defeated warriors ran away

ਰਟੈ ਏਕ ਮਾਰੰ ॥
rattai ek maaran |

Many are running around.
