ਆਸਫ ਖਾ ਉਮਰਾਵ ਕੇ ਰਹਤ ਆਠ ਸੈ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ॥
aasaf khaa umaraav ke rahat aatth sai treey |Eight hundred wives lived with Asaf Khan Umrao.
ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਰੁਚਿ ਮਾਨੇ ਘਨੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਮਾਨ ਸੁਖ ਜੀਯ ॥੧॥
nitiprat ruch maane ghane adhik maan sukh jeey |1|He used to take interest in them every day with great happiness in his mind. 1.

ਰੋਸਨ ਜਹਾ ਤਵਨ ਕੀ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
rosan jahaa tavan kee naaree |His (one) wife was Roshan Jahan
ਆਪੁ ਹਾਥ ਜਨੁਕੀਸ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
aap haath janukees savaaree |Which is as if the Lord has made it with his own hands.
ਆਸਫ ਖਾ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਹਿਤ ਕਰੈ ॥
aasaf khaa taa sau hit karai |Asaf Khan was very fond of her.
ਵਹੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਰਸ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਨਹਿ ਢਰੈ ॥੨॥
vahu triy ras taa ke neh dtarai |2|But that woman was not interested in him. 2.
ਮੋਤੀ ਲਾਲ ਸਾਹੁ ਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਸੁਤ ॥

ਤਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਯੋ ਬਿਧਨਾ ਅਤਿ ॥
taa ko roop diyo bidhanaa at |To whom God gave many forms.
ਇਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਿਲੋਕ੍ਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
eih triy taeh bilokayo jab hee |When this woman saw him,
ਲਾਗੀ ਲਗਨ ਨੇਹ ਕੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੩॥
laagee lagan neh kee tab hee |3|Since then she started loving him. 3.
ਸਖੀ ਏਕ ਤਿਨ ਤੀਰ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
sakhee ek tin teer bulaaee |He called one of his friends.
ਜਾਨਿ ਹੇਤ ਕੀ ਕੈ ਸਮੁਝਾਈ ॥
jaan het kee kai samujhaaee |Explained to him knowing (his) hitu.
ਮੇਰੀ ਕਹੀ ਮੀਤ ਸੌ ਕਹਿਯਹੁ ॥
meree kahee meet sau kahiyahu |Go and tell my friend
ਹਮਰੀ ਓਰ ਨਿਹਾਰਤ ਰਹਿਯਹੁ ॥੪॥
hamaree or nihaarat rahiyahu |4|May you continue to be kind to me. 4.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |Self:
ਸੀਸੇ ਸਰਾਬ ਕਿ ਫੂਲ ਗੁਲਾਬ ਕਿ ਮਤ ਕਿਧੌ ਮਦਰਾਕਿ ਸੇ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੇ ॥
seese saraab ki fool gulaab ki mat kidhau madaraak se payaare |(That woman sent word) O dear! Your pearls are wine glasses, or rose flowers or drunk with wine.
ਬਾਨਨ ਸੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਬਾਰਨ ਸੇ ਤਰਵਾਰਨ ਸੇ ਕਿ ਬਿਖੀ ਬਿਖਿਯਾਰੇ ॥
baanan se mrig baaran se taravaaran se ki bikhee bikhiyaare |are like arrows or like stags, or like swords (sharp like) or poisonous snakes.
ਨਾਰਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਜਰਾਰਨ ਕੇ ਦੁਖ ਟਾਰਨ ਹੈ ਕਿਧੌ ਨੀਦ ਨਿੰਦਾਰੇ ॥
naarin ko kajaraaran ke dukh ttaaran hai kidhau need nindaare |Women sitting wearing surma are pain relievers or full of sleep.
ਨੇਹ ਜਗੇ ਕਿ ਰੰਗੇ ਰੰਗ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੇ ਮੀਤ ਕੇ ਨੈਨ ਸਖੀ ਰਸਿਯਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
neh jage ki range rang kaahoo ke meet ke nain sakhee rasiyaare |5|Awake in love, or dyed in one's color. O Sakhi! My beloved's lips are very juicy. 5.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਚੰਦ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਰਾਤਿ ਸਜਨ ਸੌ ਪਾਈਯੈ ॥
chand chaadanee raat sajan sau paaeeyai |If we get the gentleman in the moonlit night
ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਅੰਗ ਗਰੇ ਲਪਟਾਇਯੈ ॥
geh geh taa ke ang gare lapattaaeiyai |Then his body should be held and put on the cheek.
ਪਲ ਪਲ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਨ ਛੋਰੋ ਏਕ ਛਿਨ ॥
pal pal bal bal jaau na chhoro ek chhin |Don't spare even a single lick while attacking him from moment to moment.
ਹੋ ਬੀਤਹਿਾਂ ਬਰਸ ਪਚਾਸ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ਏਕ ਦਿਨ ॥੬॥
ho beetahiaan baras pachaas na jaano ek din |6|Do not consider the passage of fifty years as the passage of a single day. 6.
ਪਲ ਪਲ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਪਿਯਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
pal pal bal bal jaau piyaa ko paae kai |After getting the beloved, I will turn away from him moment by moment.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਦੋਊ ਨੈਨ ਰਹੋ ਉਰਝਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
nirakh nirakh doaoo nain raho urajhaae kai |I am confused after seeing both his faces.
ਕਰਿ ਅਧਰਨ ਕੋ ਪਾਨ ਅਜਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜਗ ਰਹੋ ॥
kar adharan ko paan ajar hvai jag raho |Stay young in the world by sucking his lips.
ਹੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਚਿਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਸੌ ਕਹੋ ॥੭॥
ho apane chit kee baat na kaahoo sau kaho |7|Don't tell anyone what's on your mind. 7.
ਮਰਿ ਕੈ ਹੋਇ ਚੁਰੈਲ ਲਲਾ ਕੋ ਲਾਗਿਹੋ ॥
mar kai hoe churail lalaa ko laagiho |Let me cling to my beloved even after death.
ਟੂਕ ਕੋਟਿ ਤਨ ਹੋਇ ਨ ਤਿਹ ਤਜਿ ਭਾਗਿਹੋ ॥
ttook kott tan hoe na tih taj bhaagiho |Even if the body is innumerable broken (even then), don't leave it and run away.
ਬਿਰਹ ਸਜਨ ਕੇ ਬਧੀ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮਰੋ ॥
birah sajan ke badhee divaanee hvai maro |Let me die as a madman with a pierced ear of a gentleman.
ਹੋ ਪਿਯ ਪਿਯ ਪਰੀ ਕਬਰ ਕੋ ਬੀਚ ਸਦਾ ਕਰੋ ॥੮॥
ho piy piy paree kabar ko beech sadaa karo |8|And lying in the grave, I will always love my beloved. 8.
ਕਾਜੀ ਜਹਾ ਅਲਹ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਨ੍ਯਾਇ ਚੁਕਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
kaajee jahaa alah hvai nayaae chukaae hai |Where Allah will judge as Qazi
ਸਭ ਰੂਹਨ ਕੋ ਅਪੁਨ ਨਿਕਟ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
sabh roohan ko apun nikatt bulaae hai |And will call all souls unto him.
ਤਹਾ ਠਾਢੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜ੍ਵਾਬ ਨਿਡਰ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮੈ ਕਰੋਂ ॥
tahaa tthaadtee hvai jvaab niddar hvai mai karon |Will answer there by standing there and being fearless
ਹੋ ਇਸਕ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ਪਗੀ ਨ ਕਾਨਿ ਕਛੂ ਧਰੋ ॥੯॥
ho isak tihaare pagee na kaan kachhoo dharo |9|That oh dear! I don't care about anyone in your love. 9.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਲਲਾ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਦਿਵਾਨੇ ਹਮ ਭਏ ॥
nirakh lalaa ko roop divaane ham bhe |Seeing the form of my beloved, I have become crazy.
ਬਿਨ ਦਾਮਨ ਕੇ ਦਏ ਸਖੀ ਬਿਕਿ ਕੈ ਗਏ ॥
bin daaman ke de sakhee bik kai ge |O Sakhi! I have sold without giving a damn.
ਕਰਿਯੋ ਵਹੈ ਉਪਾਇ ਜੋ ਮਿਲਿਯੈ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
kariyo vahai upaae jo miliyai jaae kai |Do what you can to meet him.
ਹੋ ਸਭ ਸਖਿ ਤੇਰੋ ਦਾਰਿਦ ਦੇਉਾਂ ਬਹਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੧੦॥
ho sabh sakh tero daarid deauaan bahaae kai |10|(On success) O Sakhi! I will remove all your poverty. 10.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਲਖਿ ਆਤੁਰ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਸਖੀ ਚਲੀ ਤਹਾ ਤੇ ਧਾਇ ॥
lakh aatur taa ko sakhee chalee tahaa te dhaae |Seeing his helplessness, Sakhi hurried away from there.
ਮਨ ਭਾਵੰਤਾ ਮਾਨਨੀ ਦੀਨੋ ਮੀਤ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੧੧॥
man bhaavantaa maananee deeno meet milaae |11|He made friends with that honorable lady. 11.

ਮਨ ਭਾਵੰਤਾ ਮੀਤ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਜਬ ਪਾਇਯੋ ॥
man bhaavantaa meet kuar jab paaeiyo |Desired partner when the woman obtained
ਸਕਲ ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਸੋਕ ਮਿਟਾਇਯੋ ॥
sakal chit ko sundar sok mittaaeiyo |So Sundari removed all the sorrow of (her) heart.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਭੋਗਨ ਭਰੀ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਭਈ ॥
taa ko bhogan bharee tarun taa kee bhee |After enjoying him abundantly, the woman became his.
