ਮਨਿ ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਨਹਿ ਚੰਦ ਕੀ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਜੋਬਨ ਵਾਰਨ ਮੈ ॥੫੪੭॥
man yau upajee upamaa neh chand kee chaadanee joban vaaran mai |547|It seems that on seeing them, the moon is sacrificing the youth of his moonshine.547.
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਬਾਚ ਰਾਧੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥
chandrabhagaa baach raadhe prat |Speech of Chandarbhaga addressed to Radha:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਬਤੀਯਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੋ ॥
bateeyaa fun chandrabhagaa mukh te ih bhaat kahee brikhabhaan sutaa so |Then Chandrabhaga spoke thus to Radha from (his) face. (O Radha!)
ਆਵਹੁ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਹਮ ਨਾਹਕ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਾ ਸੋ ॥
aavahu khel kare har so ham naahak khel karo tum kaa so |Chandarbhaga said this to Radha, “With whom you are absorbed in amorous play fruitlessly! come, let us play with Krishna
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਉਪਜੀ ਹੈ ਜੋਊ ਅਪਨੇ ਮਨੂਆ ਸੋ ॥
taa kee prabhaa kab sayaam kahai upajee hai joaoo apane manooaa so |Poet Shyam says, His beauty has arisen in my own mind.
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਜੋਤਿ ਤਰਈਯਨ ਕੀ ਛਪਗੀ ਦੁਤਿ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਕਲਾ ਸੋ ॥੫੪੮॥
gvaarin jot tareeyan kee chhapagee dut raadhikaa chandrakalaa so |548|Describing the beauty of the spectacle, the poet has said that in the light of the supernatural power of Radha, the light of the earthen-lamp like gopis concealed itself.548.

ਸੁਨਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਕੀ ਸਭੈ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਤਬ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
sun chandrabhagaa kee sabhai bateeyaa brikhabhaan sutaa tab aaise kahiyo hai |After hearing all the words of Chandrabhaga, then Radha said like this, O Sakhi! listen,
ਯਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਸੁਨੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਮ ਲੋਕਨ ਕੋ ਉਪਹਾਸ ਸਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
yaahee ke het suno sajanee ham lokan ko upahaas sahiyo hai |Hearing the words of chandarbhaga, Radha said to her, “O friend! for this objective, I have endured the ridicules of the people
ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਮੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਾਸ ਕਥਾ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਹਮ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਗਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
sraunan mai sun raas kathaa tab hee man mai ham dhayaan gahiyo hai |(When) we have heard the story of Rasa with our ears, since then we have fixed (it) in our mind.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਖੀਆ ਪਿਖ ਕੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਤਨ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੫੪੯॥
sayaam kahai akheea pikh kai hamare man ko tan mohi rahiyo hai |549|On listening about the amorous play, my attention is diverted to this side and seeing Krishna with my own eyes, my mind has been fascinated.549.
ਤਬ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਹਮਰੀ ਬਤੀਆ ਸੁਨਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
tab chandrabhagaa ih bhaat kahiyo sajanee hamaree bateea sun leejai |Chandrabhaga said thus, O Sakhi! Listen to me (carefully).
ਦੇਖਹੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਪਿਖਏ ਫੁਨਿ ਜੀਜੈ ॥
dekhahu sayaam biraajat hai jih ke mukh ke pikhe fun jeejai |Then Chanderbjhaga said, “O friend! listen to me and see, Krishna is seated there and we all are alive on seeing him
ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਰੇ ਮਿਤ ਹੋਇ ਖੁਸੀ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਉਠ ਕੈ ਸੋਊ ਕਾਜ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥
jaa ke kare mit hoe khusee suneeai utth kai soaoo kaaj kareejai |(More) Listen, whatever (work) makes a friend happy, one should take up and do that work (quickly).
ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਧੇ ਕਹੋ ਤੁਮ ਸੋ ਅਬ ਚਾਰ ਭਈ ਤੁ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੫੫੦॥
taahee te raadhe kaho tum so ab chaar bhee tu bichaar na keejai |550|The work, bydoing which the friend is pleased, that work should be done, therefore, O Radha! I am saying to you that now when you have adopted this path, do not have other thoughts in your mind”.550.

ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੇ ਭੇਟਨ ਪਾਇ ਚਲੀ ਬਤੀਯਾ ਸੁਨਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
kaanrah ke bhettan paae chalee bateeyaa sun chandrabhagaa fun kaise |After listening to the words of Chandrabhaga, how (Radha) went to worship the feet of Sri Krishna.
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਨਾਗ ਸੁਤਾ ਇਹ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਲੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਧਰੈ ਸੇ ॥
maanahu naag sutaa ih sundar tiaag chalee grihi patr dharai se |Radha started on listening to the words of Chandarbhaga for the attainment of Krishna and she appeared like a Naga-damsel leaving her home
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਨਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਤੇ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਿਹ ਐਸੇ ॥
gvaaran mandar te nikasee kab sayaam kahai upamaa tih aaise |Poet Shyam says, the simile of the gopis leaving their homes can be said like this,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਘਨੈ ਤਜਿ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਬਿਜਲੀ ਦੁਤਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੫੫੧॥
maanahu sayaam ghanai taj kai pragattee hai soaoo bijalee dut jaise |551|Giving the simile of the gopis coming out of the temple, the poet has said that they look like the manifestation of the creepers of lightning, leaving the clouds.551.
ਰਾਸਹਿ ਕੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
raaseh kee rachanaa bhagavaan kahai kab sayaam bachitr karee hai |Lord Krishna has created the arena of amorous play in a wonderful way
ਰਾਜਤ ਹੈ ਤਰਏ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਹ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਚੰਦ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
raajat hai tare jamunaa at hee tah chaadanee chand karee hai |Down below, Yamuna is flowing with currents like moonshine
ਸੇਤ ਪਟੈ ਸੰਗ ਰਾਜਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਸੁ ਕਰੀ ਹੈ ॥
set pattai sang raajat gvaarin taa kee prabhaa kab ne su karee hai |The gopis are adorned with white robes. His brilliance is described by the poet as follows,
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਰਾਸ ਬਗੀਚਨ ਮੈ ਇਹ ਫੂਲਨ ਕੀ ਫੁਲਵਾਰਿ ਜਰੀ ਹੈ ॥੫੫੨॥
maanahu raas bageechan mai ih foolan kee fulavaar jaree hai |552|The gopis look splendid in white garments and they appear like a flower-garden in the forest of amorous play.552.
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਮਾਨਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਨ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
chandrabhagaa hoon ko maan kahiyo brikhabhaan sutaa har paaein laagee |Obeying Chandarbhaga, Radha touched the feet of Krishna
ਮੈਨ ਸੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਦੇਖਿਬੇ ਕੋ ਅਨੁਰਾਗੀ ॥
main see sundar moorat pekh kai taahee ke dekhibe ko anuraagee |She merged like a charming portrait in Krishna on seeing him
ਸੋਵਤ ਥੀ ਜਨੁ ਲਾਜ ਕੀ ਨੀਦ ਮੈ ਲਾਜ ਕੀ ਨੀਦ ਤਜੀ ਅਬ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
sovat thee jan laaj kee need mai laaj kee need tajee ab jaagee |Till now she had been absorbed in the sleep of shyness, but that shyness also abandoned sleep and awoke
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਮੁਨੀ ਨਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਲਹੈ ਇਹ ਤਾਹੀ ਸੋ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੫੫੩॥
jaa ko munee neh ant lahai ih taahee so khel karai baddabhaagee |553|He, whose mystery has not been comprehended by the sages, the fortunate Radhika is absorbed in playing with him.553.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਾਚ ਰਾਧਾ ਸੋ ॥
kaanrah baach raadhaa so |Speech of Krishna addressed to Radha:
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਸੰਗ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਬਿਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਬਾਤ ॥
krisan raadhikaa sang kahiyo at hee bihas kai baat |Krishna laughingly said (this) to Radha,
ਖੇਲਹੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਮ ਕੰਚਨ ਗਾਤ ॥੫੫੪॥
khelahu gaavahu prem so sun sam kanchan gaat |554|Krishna said smilingly to Radha, “O dear of the body of gold! You keep on playing smilingly.”554.
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਬਿਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਚੀਤ ॥
krisan baat sun raadhikaa at hee bihas kai cheet |Hearing Krishna's words, Radha laughed in her heart (she became very happy).
ਰਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਗਾਵਨ ਲਗੀ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਸੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਗੀਤ ॥੫੫੫॥
raas bikhai gaavan lagee gvaarin so mil geet |555|Hearing the words of Krishna, Radha, smilingly in her mind, began to sing alongwith the gopis in the amorous play.555.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਅਰੁ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੁਖੀ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੰਗ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
chandrabhagaa ar chandramukhee mil kai brikhabhaan sutaa sang gaavai |Chandrabhaga and Chandramukhi (namely Sakhis) started singing songs along with Radha.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਭੀਤਰ ਤਾਨ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
soratth saarang sudh malaar bilaaval bheetar taan basaavai |Chandarbhaga and Chandarmukhi began to sing alongwith Radha and raised the tunes of Sorath, Sarang, Shuddh Malhar and Bilawal
ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਹੂੰ ਕੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਸੋਊ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਜੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
reejh rahee brij hoon kee treeyaa soaoo reejh rahai dhun jo sun paavai |The women of Braja were allured and whosoever listened to that tune, he was fascinated
ਸੋ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਇਨ ਪੈ ਹਿਤ ਕੈ ਬਨ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਅਉ ਚਲਿ ਆਵੈ ॥੫੫੬॥
so sun kai in pai hit kai ban tiaag mrigee mrig aau chal aavai |556|Listening to that voice, even the deer and does of the forest moved towards this side.556.
ਤਿਨ ਸੇਾਂਧੁਰ ਮਾਗ ਦਈ ਸਿਰ ਪੈ ਰਸ ਸੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਭੀਨੋ ॥
tin seaandhur maag dee sir pai ras so tin ko at hee man bheeno |The gopis filled their partings of the hair on the head with vermilion and their mind was filled with pleasure
ਬੇਸਰ ਆਡ ਸੁ ਕੰਠਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਮੋਤਿਸਿਰੀ ਹੂੰ ਕੋ ਸਾਜ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥
besar aadd su kantthasiree ar motisiree hoon ko saaj naveeno |They bedecked themselves with the nose-ornaments, necklaces and wreaths of pearls
ਭੂਖਨ ਅੰਗ ਸਭੈ ਸਜਿ ਸੁੰਦਰਿ ਆਖਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਕਾਜਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
bhookhan ang sabhai saj sundar aakhan bheetar kaajar deeno |The gopis, adorning all their limbs with ornaments, applied antimony to their eyes
ਤਾਹੀ ਸੁ ਤੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੫੫੭॥
taahee su te kab sayaam kahai bhagavaan ko chit churaae kai leeno |557|The poet Shyam says that in this way, they stole the mind of Lord Krishna.557.
ਚੰਦ ਕੀ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਮੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜਬੈ ਹਰਿ ਖੇਲਨਿ ਰਾਸ ਲਗਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
chand kee chaadanee mai kab sayaam jabai har khelan raas lagiyo hai |When Krishna began to play in moonshine, the face of Radhika appeared to him like the moon
ਰਾਧੇ ਕੋ ਆਨਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਚਾਦ ਸੋ ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਪਗਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
raadhe ko aanan sundar pekh kai chaad so taahee ke beech pagiyo hai |She store the heart of Krishna
