ਸਾਹੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਲੀਨੀ ॥
saahu sutaa sabh hee so leenee |Shah's daughter took them all.
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਚਾਰੌ ਪੂਤ ਡੁਬਾਈ ॥
nrip ke chaarau poot ddubaaee |By drowning the four sons of the king
ਲੈ ਧਨੁ ਅਮਿਤ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਘਰ ਆਈ ॥੧੯॥
lai dhan amit bahur ghar aaee |19|And Amit returned home with money. 19.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਸੁਤਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਚਾਰੌ ਦਏ ਡੁਬਾਇ ॥
eih chhal so sut nripat ke chaarau de ddubaae |With this trick, the four sons of the king were drowned
ਆਨਿ ਧਾਮ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਬਸੀ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਹਰਖ ਉਪਜਾਇ ॥੨੦॥

ਬਤਿਸੁ ਲਛਨ ਨਗਰ ਇਕ ਸੋਹੈ ॥

ਜਾ ਕੇ ਤਟ ਅਮਰਾਵਤਿ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥
jaa ke tatt amaraavat ko hai |Amrapuri was nothing like it.
ਸੈਨ ਸੁਲਛਨ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤਹ ਸੁਭ ਮਤਿ ॥
sain sulachhan nrip tah subh mat |There was an auspicious and intelligent king named Sulchhan Sen.
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਿਕਟ ਮਤਿ ॥੧॥
soorabeer balavaan bikatt mat |1|Who was very brave, strong and wise. 1.
ਮੰਜ੍ਰਿ ਬਿਚਛਨਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਵਨਿ ਬਰ ॥
manjr bichachhan naar tavan bar |Bichchhani Manjari was his beautiful wife
ਪੜੀ ਬ੍ਯਾਕਰਨ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੋਕ ਸਰ ॥
parree bayaakaran saasatr kok sar |who studied grammar and Kok Shastra etc.
ਸੋਭਾ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਵਨ ਕੀ ਸੋਹਤ ॥
sobhaa adhik tavan kee sohat |She was very beautiful
ਸੁਰ ਨਰ ਨਾਗ ਅਸੁਰ ਮਨ ਮੋਹਤ ॥੨॥
sur nar naag asur man mohat |2|(By seeing whom) gods, men, snakes and giants were enthralled. 2.

ਏਕ ਸਾਹ ਕੋ ਪੂਤ ਤਹਾ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਘਨੋ ॥
ek saah ko poot tahaa sundar ghano |There lived a very handsome son of a Shah,
ਜਨੁ ਔਤਾਰ ਮਦਨ ਕੋ ਯਾ ਜਗ ਮੋ ਬਨੋ ॥
jan aauataar madan ko yaa jag mo bano |As if he had come to this world as an incarnation of Kama Dev.
ਬਿਤਨ ਕੇਤੁ ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੈ ਜਾਨਿਯੈ ॥
bitan ket tih naam kuar kai jaaniyai |Consider the name of that virgin as Bitan Ketu.
ਹੋ ਜਾ ਸਮ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਕਤਹੁ ਬਖਾਨਿਯੈ ॥੩॥
ho jaa sam sundar avar na katahu bakhaaniyai |3|No one else was as beautiful as him. 3.
ਨੈਨ ਹਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਹਰੇ ਬੈਨ ਪਿਕ ਕੇ ਹਰੇ ॥
nain harin ke hare bain pik ke hare |(He) had stolen the hooves of the deer and the hooves of the cuckoo.
ਜਨੁਕ ਸਾਨਿ ਪਰ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਦੋਊ ਬਾਢਿਨ ਧਰੇ ॥
januk saan par bisikh doaoo baadtin dhare |(It appears) as if two arrows were sharpened on the hay for harvesting.
ਬਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ਲਗਤ ਨ ਕਾਢੇ ਜਾਤ ਹੈ ॥
binaa prahaare lagat na kaadte jaat hai |They appear unmanageable and cannot be removed.
ਹੋ ਖਟਕਤ ਹਿਯ ਕੇ ਮਾਝ ਸਦਾ ਪਿਯਰਾਤ ਹੈ ॥੪॥
ho khattakat hiy ke maajh sadaa piyaraat hai |4|Then they pierce the heart and give pain. 4.
ਨਿਰਖਿ ਤਵਨ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਤਰਿਨਿ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਭਈ ॥
nirakh tavan ko roop tarin mohit bhee |Seeing his form, Rani fell in love with him.
ਲੋਕ ਲਾਜ ਕੁਲ ਕਾਨਿ ਤ੍ਯਾਗਿ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਦਈ ॥

ਭੇਦਿ ਪਾਇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਸਿ ॥

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਭੋਜਨਹਿ ਖਵਾਇਸਿ ॥

laaj bisaar pragatt tih kahaa |6|After removing the shame, he told him clearly. 6.
ਬਿਤਨ ਕੇਤੁ ਜਬ ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
bitan ket jab yau sun paayo |When Bitan Ketu heard like this
ਭੋਗ ਨ ਕਿਯੋ ਨਾਕ ਐਂਠਾਯੋ ॥
bhog na kiyo naak aaintthaayo |So he did not indulge, but he offered a nose.
ਸੁਨਿ ਅਬਲਾ ਮੈ ਤੋਹਿ ਨ ਭਜਿਹੌ ॥
sun abalaa mai tohi na bhajihau |(And began to say) O woman! Listen, I will not indulge you
ਨਾਰਿ ਆਪਨੀ ਕੌ ਨਹਿ ਤਜਿਹੌ ॥੭॥
naar aapanee kau neh tajihau |7|And I will not leave my wife.7.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਜੌ ਉਪਾਇ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਲਛਿਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਇਲਾਜ ॥
jau upaae kottik karahu lachhik karahu ilaaj |If you take crores of measures and take lakhs of treatment
ਧਰਮ ਆਪਨੌ ਛਾਡਿ ਤੁਹਿ ਤਊ ਨ ਭਜਹੌ ਆਜ ॥੮॥
dharam aapanau chhaadd tuhi taoo na bhajahau aaj |8|(Even so, I) will not run away from you by leaving my religion. 8.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਰਾਨੀ ਜਤਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹੀ ॥
raanee jatan kott kar rahee |Rani tried hard,
ਏਕੈ ਨਾਹਿ ਮੂੜ ਤਿਹ ਗਹੀ ॥
ekai naeh moorr tih gahee |But that fool kept the only 'no'.
ਕੋਪ ਭਯੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੋ ਜਿਯ ਭਾਰੋ ॥
kop bhayo triy ko jiy bhaaro |A lot of anger filled the woman's mind
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਬਾਧਿ ਭੋਹਰੇ ਡਾਰੋ ॥੯॥
taa kau baadh bhohare ddaaro |9|And caught him and locked him in the dungeon. 9.
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਬਾਧਿ ਭੋਹਰਾ ਡਾਰਾ ॥
taa kau baadh bhoharaa ddaaraa |He was tied and thrown into the river
ਮੂਆ ਸਾਹੁ ਸੁਤ ਜਗਤ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
mooaa saahu sut jagat uchaaraa |And told everyone that Shah's son is dead.
