ਹੋ ਕਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਆਇਯੋ ॥੫॥
ho kaal kripaa kar dhaam hamaare aaeiyo |5|And requested him to come to her house again next day.(5)
ਭੋਗ ਮਾਨਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਗਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਪੁਨਿ ਆਇਯੋ ॥
bhog maan nrip gayo praat pun aaeiyo |After enjoying sex, Raja had gone away, but came back in the morning.
ਕਾਮ ਕੇਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਸਾਥ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਪਜਾਯੋ ॥
kaam kel triy saath bahur upajaayo |He again revelled in the lovemaking
ਪੁਨਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਜੂ ਬਚਨ ਮੀਤ ਸੋ ਯੌ ਕਿਯੋ ॥
pun raanee joo bachan meet so yau kiyo |‘And, then, spoke to her, saying,
ਹੋ ਹਮਰੈ ਚਿਤ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਲਲਾ ਜੂ ਤੁਮ ਲਿਯੋ ॥੬॥
ho hamarai chit churaae lalaa joo tum liyo |6|‘You have stolen my heart.’(6)
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਮੀਤ ਸੁ ਪਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਯੈ ॥
jaa te tum ko meet su pat kar paaeiyai |(She)‘Through some means I will take you as my husband,
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੋਊ ਆਜੁ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਨਾਇਯੈ ॥
taa te soaoo aaj charitr banaaeiyai |‘I will conduct some trickery.
ਜੌ ਮੈ ਕਹੋ ਸੁ ਕਰਿਯਹੁ ਸਾਜਨ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
jau mai kaho su kariyahu saajan aae kai |‘Whatever I say, my benefactor, you must do.
ਹੋ ਮੋ ਕਹ ਹਰ ਲੈ ਜੈਯਹੁ ਹਰਖ ਬਢਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੭॥
ho mo kah har lai jaiyahu harakh badtaae kai |7|‘And with full satisfaction rejoice with me.’(7)
ਏਕ ਬਾਸ ਸੋ ਕੁਪਿਯਾ ਕਸੀ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
ek baas so kupiyaa kasee sudhaar kai |She took a bamboo stick and, on its top-end, she tied a funnel,
ਗਾੜੀ ਰੇਤੀ ਮਾਝ ਸੁ ਸਭਨ ਦਿਖਾਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
gaarree retee maajh su sabhan dikhaar kai |Displaying to every body she dug it in the sand.
ਆਖੈ ਦੋਊ ਬੰਧਾਇ ਨਿਸਾ ਕੋ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
aakhai doaoo bandhaae nisaa ko aae kai |She told him to hit it while mounting a horse and
ਹੋ ਮਾਰੈ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਬਾਨ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਵਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੮॥
ho maarai yaa ko baan turang dhavaae kai |8|that too with blindfolded eyes.(8)

ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਜੁ ਨਰ ਦੋਊ ਆਖਿ ਮੁੰਦਾਵੈ ॥
pratham ju nar doaoo aakh mundaavai |The first person to blindfold (shave)
ਰਾਤਿ ਅੰਧੇਰੀ ਤੁਰੈ ਧਵਾਵੈ ॥
raat andheree turai dhavaavai |(It was announced,) ‘Primarily the person should blindfold both hiseyes and then travel when it is dark at night.
ਬਾਦਗਸਤਿਯਾ ਇਹ ਸਰ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
baadagasatiyaa ih sar maarai |Shabadbedhi will shoot an arrow at it (kupi) by tying a target (badgastiya),
ਸੋ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੯॥
so raanee kai saath bihaarai |9|‘Then, ifhe could hit it (the funnel) with an arrow, that person willmake love with Rani.’(9)
ਯਹ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਾਤ ਸਭਨ ਹੂੰ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
yah sun baat sabhan hoon paayo |Everyone heard this.
ਬਿਸਿਖ ਚਲਾਤ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥
bisikh chalaat turang dhavaayo |Hearing the news, many came from all sides.
ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਅਧੇਰੀ ਆਖਿ ਮੁੰਦਾਵੈ ॥
raatr adheree aakh mundaavai |But with eyes closed in the dark night
ਚੋਟ ਚਲਾਤ ਕਹੂੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧੦॥
chott chalaat kahoon kahoon jaavai |10|During dark night, they shot the arrows but all those would goastray.(10)
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਏਸ੍ਵਰ ਚਲਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
des des esvar chal aavai |The kings of the countries used to walk.
ਆਖਿ ਮੂੰਦ ਦੋਊ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
aakh moond doaoo teer chalaavai |The Rajas came from many countries.They would shoot arrows with eyes closed.
ਅਰਧ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਕਛੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
aradh raatr kachh drisatt na aavai |Nothing was visible at midnight.
ਛੋਰੈ ਚੋਟ ਕਹੂੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧੧॥
chhorai chott kahoon kahoon jaavai |11|Being not able to see at night, their arrows would go astray.(11)

ਅਰਧ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਮੂੰਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਗਨ ਸਭ ਕੋਊ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਇ ॥
aradh raatr moonde drigan sabh koaoo teer chalaae |They all shot arrows at midnight with eyes closed.
ਜੀਤਿ ਨ ਰਾਨੀ ਕੌ ਸਕੈ ਨਿਜੁ ਰਾਨਿਨ ਦੈ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੨॥
jeet na raanee kau sakai nij raanin dai jaae |12|They could not win Rani but lost their own Ranis.(l2)

ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂ ਹਰਖਿਤ ਅਤਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
raajaa joo harakhit at bhayo |Raja (Himmat Singh) was very happy to do this
ਰਾਨੀ ਭਲੋ ਭੇਦ ਕਹਿ ਦਯੋ ॥
raanee bhalo bhed keh dayo |Raja (Himmat Singh) was much pleased that Rani had revealed secret tohim.
ਸੁਜਨਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਜੂ ਕੋ ਕੋ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥
sujan kuar joo ko ko pai hai |No one can get Sujani Kuri,
ਨਿਜੁ ਰਾਨਿਨ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਦੈ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੩॥
nij raanin mo kau dai jai hai |13|‘No one could win Sujjan Kumari, rather, one could lose his Rani to me.(13)
ਤਬ ਲੌ ਪਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੂ ਆਏ ॥
tab lau param singh joo aae |Till then Param Singh came
ਜਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ਸੌ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਏ ॥
jih raanee sau kel kamaae |In the meantime came Parm Singh who had been enjoying with Rani.
ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਡੇਰਾ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
bhalee bhaat dderaa tih deeno |He was well accommodated
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੌ ਆਦਰੁ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੪॥
bhaat bhaat sau aadar keeno |14|Be put up his camp at a nice place and was endowed honour.(14)
ਰੈਨਿ ਭਈ ਰਾਨੀਯਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
rain bhee raaneeyeh bulaayo |At nightfall, Rani called.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਤਵਨ ਸੌ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
bahur tavan sau kel kamaayo |At night Rani called him over and enjoyed lovemaking with him.
ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਭਏ ਬਾਸ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
andhakaar bhe baas utaariyo |When it got dark, the bamboo was removed
ਕੁਪਿਯਾ ਕੌ ਭੂ ਪਰ ਧਰਿ ਪਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੫॥
kupiyaa kau bhoo par dhar paariyo |15|In the darkness of night, she took down the bamboo and threw thefunnel on the ground.(15)

ਕੁਪਿਯਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਿ ਵੈਸਹਿ ਧਰੀ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
kupiyeh baan prahaar kar vaiseh dharee banaae |He hit the funnel with an arrow and left it there.
ਬਿਦਾ ਕਿਯੋ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਐਸੋ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਖਾਇ ॥੧੬॥
bidaa kiyo rat maan kai aaiso mantr sikhaae |16|And after lovemaking, she told him a few anecdotes and let himgo.(16)
