ਕੰਠਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਸਰਿ ਮਾਗ ਧਰੈ ਜੋਊ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਾਜ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥
kantthasiree ar besar maag dharai joaoo sundar saaj naveeno |They bedecked themselves with necklaces and vermilion in the parting of the hair on their head
ਜੋ ਅਵਤਾਰਨ ਤੇ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੁ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਨਗੀਨੋ ॥
jo avataaran te avataar kahai kab sayaam ju hai su nageeno |The poet Shyam, who is also an incarnation of Krishna incarnations, is the Nagina (of the Gopi form of jewels).
ਤਾਹਿ ਕਿਧੌ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਛਲ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਮਨੋ ਮਨ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੫੮੮॥
taeh kidhau at hee chhal kai su churaae mano man gopin leeno |588|All of them have also worn the gem-like Krishna, who is the greatest of incarnations and with extreme deceit, they have stolen him and concealed in their mind.588.
ਕਾਨਰ ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਸਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਹੀ ਸੰਗ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਐਸੇ ॥
kaanar so brikhabhaan sutaa has baat kahee sang sundar aaise |Radha caused her eyes to dance, while talking smilingly to Krishna
ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਸੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸੁ ਰੁਚੈ ਸੇ ॥
nain nachaae mahaa mrig se kab sayaam kahai at hee su ruchai se |Her eyes are extremely charming like doe
ਤਾ ਛਬਿ ਕੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਉਪਜੀ ਕਬਿ ਕੇ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਉਮਗੈ ਸੇ ॥
taa chhab kee at hee upamaa upajee kab ke man te umagai se |A very beautiful simile of that scene came to the mind of the poet. (seems to be)
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਆਨੰਦ ਕੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਮਨੋ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੈ ਪਤਿ ਸੋ ਰਤਿ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੫੮੯॥
maanahu aanand kai at hee mano kel karai pat so rat jaise |589|While praising the beauty of that spectacle, the poet says that they are absorbed in delightful amorous play like Rati with the god of love.589.
ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਚਨ ਸੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਤੁਲਿ ਖੁਭਾ ਹੈ ॥
gvaarin ko har kanchan se tan mai man kee man tul khubhaa hai |The mind of the gopis is studded with the body of Krishna like a gem
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਸੋ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਨੀ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਸੁਭਾ ਹੈ ॥
khelat hai har ke sang so jin kee baranee nahee jaat subhaa hai |They are playing with that Krishna, whose temperament cannot be described
ਖੇਲਨ ਕੋ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਰਚੀ ਰਸ ਕੇ ਹਿਤ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਭਾ ਹੈ ॥
khelan ko bhagavaan rachee ras ke hit chitr bachitr sabhaa hai |Sri Krishna has created a great assembly like the image of Rasa (love) to play with.
ਯੌ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤਿਨ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਮਨੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਹੈ ॥੫੯੦॥
yau upajee upamaa tin mai brikhabhaan sutaa mano chandr prabhaa hai |590|The lord has also created this wornderful assembly for his amorous sport and in this assembly, Radha looks splendid like the moon.590.
ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨੁ ਸੁਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਆਇਸ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਖੇਲਤ ਭੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥
brikhabhaan sutaa har aaeis maan kai khelat bhee at hee sram kai |Obeying Krishna, Radha is playing with effort single-mindedly
ਗਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਸੋ ਹਾਥ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਸਭ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਾਚਤ ਰਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥
geh haath so haath treeyaa sabh sundar naachat raas bikhai bhram kai |All the women, catching their hands, are busy in roundelays in the amorous sport describing their story
ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁ ਕਥਾ ਮਨ ਬੀਚ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ਕਰੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਕੈ ॥
tih kee su kathaa man beech bichaar karai kab sayaam kahee kram kai |Poet Shyam says, (the poets) have recited their story in order after considering it in their mind.
ਮਨੋ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੇ ਘਨ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭਾਮਿਨਿ ਦਾਮਿਨਿ ਜਿਉ ਦਮਕੈ ॥੫੯੧॥
mano gopin ke ghan sundar mai brij bhaamin daamin jiau damakai |591|The poet says that within the clouds-like cluster of gopis, the extremely beautiful women of Braja are flashing like lightning.591.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਪਿਖਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਚਤ ਰਾਧਿਕਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਮਨੈ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ॥
pikh kai naachat raadhikaa krisan manai sukh paae |Krishna was very happy to see Radha dancing.
ਅਤਿ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਜੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਛਕਿ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਬਜਾਇ ॥੫੯੨॥
at hulaas jut prem chhak muralee utthiyo bajaae |592|Seeing Radhika dancing, Krishna felt pleased in his mind and with extreme pleasure and affection, he began to play on his flute.592.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਨਟ ਨਾਇਕ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਬੀਚ ਧਮਾਰਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
natt naaeik sudh malaar bilaaval gvaarin beech dhamaaran gaavai |Nat Nayak sings Shuddha Malhar, Bilawal and Dhamar (Adi Ragas) in Gopis.
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਸੁ ਬਿਭਾਸ ਭਲੇ ਹਿਤ ਸਾਥ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
soratth saarang raamakalee su bibhaas bhale hit saath basaavai |The chief dancer Krishna began to sing and play on the musical modes of Shuddh Malhar, Bilawal, Sorath, Sarang, Ramkali and Vibhas etc.
ਗਾਵਹੁ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਬੁਲਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਜੀਯ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
gaavahu hvai mriganee treey ko su bulaavat hai upamaa jeey bhaavai |He calls (them) the women who were infatuated like deer at (his) singing, (his) similitude strikes (the poet's) mind like this.
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਭਉਹਨ ਕੋ ਕਸਿ ਕੈ ਧਨੁ ਨੈਨਨ ਕੇ ਮਨੋ ਤੀਰ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥੫੯੩॥
maanahu bhauhan ko kas kai dhan nainan ke mano teer chalaavai |593|He began to attract by singing the doe-like women and it seemed that on the bow of the eyebrows, he was discharging with tightness the arrows of his eyes.593.
ਮੇਘ ਮਲਾਰ ਅਉ ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰਿ ਭਲੇ ਗਵਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਿਤ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
megh malaar aau devagandhaar bhale gavaree kar kai hit gaavai |Megh, Malhar, Dev sings Gandhari and Gowdi beautifully.
ਜੈਤਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਲਸਿਰੀ ਨਟ ਨਾਇਕ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
jaitasiree ar maalasiree natt naaeik sundar bhaat basaavai |Krishna is singing and playing beautifully on the musical modes of Megh Malhar, Devgandhar, Gauri, Jaitshri, Malshri etc.
ਰੀਝ ਰਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਰੀਝ ਰਹੈ ਸੁਰ ਜੋ ਸੁਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
reejh rahee brij kee sabh gvaarin reejh rahai sur jo sun paavai |All the women of Braja and also the gods, who are listening it, they are getting fascinated
ਅਉਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਕਹੀਯੈ ਤਜਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਭਾ ਸਭ ਆਸਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੫੯੪॥
aaur kee baat kahaa kaheeyai taj indr sabhaa sabh aasan aavai |594|What more should be said, even the gods of the court of Indra, forsaking their seats, are coming to hear these Ragas (musical modes).594.
ਖੇਲਤ ਰਾਸ ਮੈ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਰਸ ਸੰਗ ਤ੍ਰੀਯਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਤੀਨੋ ॥
khelat raas mai sayaam kahai at hee ras sang treeyaa mil teeno |Says (the poet) Shyam, the three gopis sing together (absorbed in) rasa (of love).
ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਅਰੁ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮੁਖੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਖਭਾਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਸਜਿ ਸਾਜ ਨਵੀਨੋ ॥
chandrabhagaa ar chandramukhee brikhabhaan sutaa saj saaj naveeno |Absorbed in the amorous play, Krishna is talking to the adorned Chandarbhaga, Chandarmukhi and Radha edxtremely passionately
ਅੰਜਨ ਆਖਨ ਦੈ ਬਿੰਦੂਆ ਇਕ ਭਾਲ ਮੈ ਸੇਾਂਧੁਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
anjan aakhan dai bindooaa ik bhaal mai seaandhur sundar deeno |In the eyes of these gopis there is antimony, a fixed mark on the forehead and saffron on the parting of the hair on the head
ਯੌ ਉਜਪੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਕੈ ਸੁਭ ਭਾਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ਅਬੈ ਮਨੋ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੫੯੫॥
yau ujapee upamaa treey kai subh bhaag prakaas abai mano keeno |595|It seems that the fortune of these women has risen just now.595.
ਖੇਲਤ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੋ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਭਗਾ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਰਸ ਜੋ ਉਮਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
khelat kaanrah so chandrabhagaa kab sayaam kahai ras jo umahiyo hai |A profound shower of pleasure was experienced, when Chandarbhaga and Krishna played together
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਿਹ ਸੋ ਬਹੁ ਲੋਗਨ ਕੋ ਉਪਹਾਸ ਸਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
preet karee at hee tih so bahu logan ko upahaas sahiyo hai |These gopis in deep love for Krishna endured ridicules of many people
ਮੋਤਿਨ ਮਾਲ ਢਰੀ ਗਰ ਤੇ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
motin maal dtaree gar te kab ne tih ko jas aaise kahiyo hai |A garland of pearls is draped around his neck, whose success is described by the poet as follows.
ਆਨਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਮਨੋ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੇ ਛਪਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੁ ਪਤਾਰਿ ਗਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੫੯੬॥
aanan chandr mano pragatte chhap kai andhiaar pataar gayo hai |596|The necklace of pearls has falled down from her neck and the poet says that it seems that on the manifestation of the moon-face, the darkness has concealed itself in the nether-world.596.

ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਕੈ ਇਉ ਉਪਜਯੋ ਜੀਯ ਭਾਵ ॥
gvaarin roop nihaar kai iau upajayo jeey bhaav |By seeing the form of the gopis, the mind is thus created
ਰਾਜਤ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਦਨੀ ਕੰਜਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਤਲਾਵ ॥੫੯੭॥
raajat jayo meh chaadanee kanjan sahit talaav |597|Seeing the beauty of the gopis, it seems that the tank of lotus-flowers looks splendid in moon-lit night.597.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਲੋਚਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਧਰ ਆਨਨ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਸਮ ਮੈਨਾ ॥
lochan hai jin ke su prabhaadhar aanan hai jin ko sam mainaa |Whose eyes are like lotuses and whose faces are like Kamadeva.
ਕੈ ਕੈ ਕਟਾਛ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਲਯੋ ਮਨ ਪੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਜੋਊ ਰਛਕ ਧੈਨਾ ॥
kai kai kattaachh churaae layo man pai tin ko joaoo rachhak dhainaa |They, whose eyes are like lotus and the remaining body like the god of love, their mind has been stolen by Krishna the protector of cows, with signs
ਕੇਹਰਿ ਸੀ ਜਿਨ ਕੀ ਕਟਿ ਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਪੋਤ ਸੋ ਕੰਠ ਸੁ ਕੋਕਿਲ ਬੈਨਾ ॥
kehar see jin kee katt hai su kapot so kantth su kokil bainaa |Whose face is thin like a lion, neck like a dove and voice like a cuckoo.
ਤਾਹਿ ਲਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਭਉਹ ਨਚਾਇ ਨਚਾਇ ਕੈ ਨੈਨਾ ॥੫੯੮॥
taeh layo har kai har ko man bhauh nachaae nachaae kai nainaa |598|They, whose waist is like that of a lion, the throat like that of a pigeon and the speech like that of a nightingale, their mind has been abducted by Krishna with signs of his eyebrows and eyes.598.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਛੁ ਭਉ ਨਾ ॥
kaanrah biraajat gvaarin mai kab sayaam kahai jin ko kachh bhau naa |Krishna is seated amongst those gopis, who do not fear anyone
ਤਾਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕੋ ਨੈਕੁ ਸੁਨੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਬਨਿ ਗਉਨਾ ॥
taat kee baat ko naik sunai jin ke sang bhraat kariyo ban gaunaa |They are wandering with that Ram-like Krishna, who had gone to the forest with his brother on listening to the words of his father
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਲਟੈ ਲਟਕੈ ਤਨ ਮੋ ਜੋਊ ਸਾਧਨ ਕੇ ਮਨਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਿਵਉਨਾ ॥
taa kee lattai lattakai tan mo joaoo saadhan ke man giaan divaunaa |The locks of his hair
ਸੰਦਲ ਪੈ ਉਪਜੀ ਉਪਮਾ ਮਨੋ ਲਾਗ ਰਹੇ ਅਹਿ ਰਾਜਨ ਛਉਨਾ ॥੫੯੯॥
sandal pai upajee upamaa mano laag rahe eh raajan chhaunaa |599|Which even enlighten the saints with knowledge and they seem like the young ones of black serpents on the sandalwood.599.
ਖੇਲਤ ਹੈ ਸੋਊ ਗ੍ਵਾਰਿਨ ਮੈ ਜੋਊ ਊਪਰ ਪੀਤ ਧਰੇ ਉਪਰਉਨਾ ॥
khelat hai soaoo gvaarin mai joaoo aoopar peet dhare upraunaa |He, who is wearing the yellow raiments, he is playing with the gopis
