The helmets were knocked and the wounds were caused, the warriors were infuriated and their zeal grew.534.

The fast-moving horses began to run and the warriors obtained salvation after severe fighting.535.

ਹਰਣਣ ਹਾਥੀ ॥

Including elephants

ਸਰਣਣ ਸਾਥੀ ॥

The elephants ran like deer and the warriors took refuge with their comrades

ਭਰਣਣ ਭਾਜੇ ॥
bharanan bhaaje |

Killed by the lodge

ਲਰਣਣ ਲਾਜੇ ॥੫੩੬॥

The enemies ran and felt shy of fighting.536.

ਚਰਣਣ ਚਰਮੰ ॥

Shattered shields

ਬਰਣਣ ਬਰਮੰ ॥

ਕਰਣਣ ਕਾਟੇ ॥
karanan kaatte |

And the armor is broken,

ਬਰਣਣ ਬਾਟੇ ॥੫੩੭॥

The bodies and the armours were cut, the ears and eyes were amputated.537.

ਮਰਣਣ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
maranan maare |

(He) has slain enemies,

ਤਰਣਣ ਤਾਰੇ ॥
taranan taare |

There are wicked curses,

ਜਰਣਣ ਜੀਤਾ ॥
jaranan jeetaa |

The war (he) has won

ਸਰਣਣ ਸੀਤਾ ॥੫੩੮॥
saranan seetaa |538|

The warriors breathed their last and ferried across the world-ocean, some were burnt in the fire of ire and took rufuge.538.

The sky itself

ਅਰਣਣ ਐਣੰ ॥

The gods moved in their air-vehicles and saw the scene

ਹਰਣਣ ਹੂਰੰ ॥

With (those) hoors

ਪਰਣਣ ਪੂਰੰ ॥੫੩੯॥

The heavenly damsels wandered and began to wed the warriors.539.

ਗਰਣਣ ਗਾਜੇ ॥

Various types of musical instruments resounded and the elephants thundered

ਸਰਣਣ ਸੁਝੇ ॥

(to strike them) are wise

ਜਰਣਣ ਜੁਝੇ ॥੫੪੦॥
jaranan jujhe |540|

The warriors took refuge while some began to fight.,540.

ਤਤ ਤੀਰੰ ॥

Hero arrows

ਬਬ ਬੀਰੰ ॥

which are placed on the shields

ਜਜ ਜੁਆਲੰ ॥੫੪੧॥

The arrows began to kill warriors and the fire came out of the shelds.541.

ਤਜ ਤਾਜੀ ॥
taj taajee |

to the horses

ਗਗ ਗਾਜੀ ॥
gag gaajee |

The horses began to run and the warriors began to roar

ਮਮ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
mam maare |

scolding

ਤਤ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੫੪੨॥
tat taare |542|

They began to kill one another and ferry across the worls-ocean.542.

ਜਜ ਜੀਤੇ ॥
jaj jeete |

have won (the war),

ਲਲ ਲੀਤੇ ॥
lal leete |

After gaining victory in war, the enemies were being made allies,

ਤਤ ਤੋਰੇ ॥
tat tore |

And (arrow) go

ਛਛ ਛੋਰੇ ॥੫੪੩॥
chhachh chhore |543|

The cleavage was caused amongst the warriors and they were also being forsaken.543.

ਰਰ ਰਾਜੰ ॥

of the king (Ravana).

ਧਧ ਧਾਯੰ ॥

The king Ravana thundered violently and with great zeal marched forward.544.

ਡਡ ਡਿਗੇ ॥

who have fallen,

ਭਭ ਭਿਗੇ ॥
bhabh bhige |

(They are) drenched with blood.

ਸਸ ਸ੍ਰੋਣੰ ॥

blood (flowing)

ਤਤ ਤੋਣੰ ॥੫੪੫॥

The warriors began to fall after being saturated with blood and th blood was flowing like water.545.
