ਪਤਿਯਾ ਬਾਚਿ ਚੜੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਥੈ ॥
patiyaa baach charre har rathai |(The letter reached Shri Krishna) After reading the letter, Shri Krishna got on the chariot.
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਲੂਟ ਲਯੋ ਮਨਮਥੈ ॥
maanahu loott layo manamathai |As if they were robbed by Kaam Dev.
ਉਤ ਸਿਸੁਪਾਲ ਜੋਰਿ ਦਲ ਆਯੋ ॥
aut sisupaal jor dal aayo |From there, Shishupal also joined the army
ਕੁੰਦਨ ਪੁਰੀ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਯਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੩॥
kundan puree nagar niyaraayo |13|Kundan came near Puri Nagar. 13.
ਭੇਦ ਕਹਾ ਰੁਕਮਿਨੀ ਬਿਪ੍ਰ ਸ੍ਰਯੋਂ ॥

ਜਬ ਮੈ ਗੌਰਿ ਪੂਜਬੈ ਐਹੌਂ ॥
jab mai gauar poojabai aaihauan |That when I come (to the temple) to worship Gauri
ਤਬ ਤਵ ਦਰਸ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੋ ਪੈਹੌਂ ॥੧੪॥
tab tav daras chandr so paihauan |14|Then I get the vision of your moon (like face). 14.

ਤਬ ਤੁਮ ਹਮ ਕੌ ਭੁਜਾ ਭਰਿ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਰਥਹਿ ਚੜਾਇ ॥
tab tum ham kau bhujaa bhar leejahu ratheh charraae |Then you take me by the arm and take me on the chariot.
ਨਿਜੁ ਨਾਰੀ ਲੈ ਕੀਜਿਯਹੁ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਘਾਇ ॥੧੫॥
nij naaree lai keejiyahu dusatt sabhan ko ghaae |15|Kill all the enemies and make (me) your wife. 15.

ਰੁਕਮ ਬ੍ਯਾਹ ਕੀ ਸੌਜ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
rukam bayaah kee sauaj banaaee |Rukum (Raj Kumar) prepares (completely) the wedding material
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਪਕਵਾਨ ਮਿਠਾਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat pakavaan mitthaaee |and miscellaneous dishes and sweets (made).
ਫੂਲਿਯੋ ਫਿਰਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਮੈ ॥
fooliyo firat triyan ke gan mai |He used to flourish in the gathering of women.
ਮੂੰਡ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਕੀ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥੧੬॥
moondd mundde kee khabar na man mai |16|He did not even have the news of being cheated in his mind. 16.
ਗੌਰਿ ਪੂਜਨੇ ਬਹਿਨਿ ਪਠਾਈ ॥
gauar poojane bahin patthaaee |(He) sent sister (Rukmini) to worship Gauri.
ਤਹ ਤੇ ਹਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
tah te haree krisan sukhadaaee |From there Sri Krishna took (him).
ਦੁਸਟ ਲੋਗ ਮੁਖ ਬਾਇ ਰਹਤ ਭੇ ॥
dusatt log mukh baae rahat bhe |Wicked people were left behind
ਹਾਇ ਹਾਇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਤ ਭੇ ॥੧੭॥
haae haae ih bhaat kahat bhe |17|And kept saying 'hi hi' like this. 17.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang chhand |Bhujang Verse:
ਚਲਿਯੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਰਥੈ ਡਾਰਿ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
chaliyo krisan taa kau rathai ddaar lai kai |Sri Krishna took him on the chariot.
ਤਬੈ ਬੀਰ ਧਾਏ ਸਭੈ ਕੋਪ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ॥
tabai beer dhaae sabhai kop hvai kai |Then all the warriors got angry and ran away.
ਜਰਾਸਿੰਧੁ ਤੇ ਆਦਿ ਲੈ ਬੀਰ ਜੇਤੇ ॥
jaraasindh te aad lai beer jete |Since Jarasandh, there were as many heroes,
ਹਥੈ ਲੈ ਪਟੈਲੈ ਚਲੇ ਡਾਰਿ ਤੇਤੇ ॥੧੮॥
hathai lai pattailai chale ddaar tete |18|Put patel (nets covering the mouth) in the hands (armor and on the face) and went. 18.
ਕਿਤੇ ਪਾਖਰੈ ਡਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਾਜਿਯੋ ਪੈ ॥
kite paakharai ddaar kai baajiyo pai |By putting saddles on how many horses
ਕਿਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਜਾਮੇ ਚੜੇ ਤਾਜਿਯੋ ਪੈ ॥
kite chaar jaame charre taajiyo pai |And how many horses they rode wearing four clothes.
ਮਘੇਲੇ ਧਧੇਲੇ ਬੁੰਦੇਲੇ ਚੰਦੇਲੇ ॥
maghele dhadhele bundele chandele |Maghele, Dhadhele, Bundele, Chandele,
ਕਛ੍ਵਹੇ ਰਠੌਰੇ ਬਘੇਲੇ ਖੰਡੇਲੇ ॥੧੯॥
kachhvahe ratthauare baghele khanddele |19|Turtles, Rathore, Baghele, Khandele (etc.) 19.
ਤਬੈ ਰੁਕਮ ਰੁਕਮੀ ਸਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਲੈ ਕੈ ॥
tabai rukam rukamee sabhai bhaae lai kai |Then Rukum and Rukmi took all the brothers
ਚਲਿਯੋ ਸੈਨ ਬਾਕੀ ਹਠੀ ਗੋਲ ਕੈ ਕੈ ॥
chaliyo sain baakee hatthee gol kai kai |And went with a good strong army.
ਤਹਾ ਬਾਨ ਤੀਖੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਓਰ ਚਾਰੂ ॥
tahaa baan teekhe chhutte or chaaroo |Arrows started flying there from all four sides.
ਮੰਡੇ ਆਨਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਬਜ੍ਯੋ ਰਾਗ ਮਾਰੂ ॥੨੦॥
mandde aan jodhaa bajayo raag maaroo |20|With the playing of Maru Raga, the warrior started the war. 20.
ਕਹੀ ਭੀਮ ਭੇਰੀ ਬਜੈ ਸੰਖ ਭਾਰੇ ॥
kahee bheem bheree bajai sankh bhaare |Somewhere big and heavy trumpets start playing,
ਕਹੂੰ ਨਾਦ ਨਾਫੀਰਿਯੈ ਔ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
kahoon naad naafeeriyai aau nagaare |Somewhere bells and whistles started playing.
ਪਰੀ ਮਾਰਿ ਬਾਨਾਨ ਕੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਐਸੀ ॥
paree maar baanaan kee bhaat aaisee |The arrows hit like that,
ਉਠੀ ਅਗਨਿ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਕਾਲ ਜੈਸੀ ॥੨੧॥
autthee agan jvaalaa pralai kaal jaisee |21|It is as if the flames of fire are coming out at the time of deluge. 21.
ਚਲੈ ਸੀਘ੍ਰਤਾ ਸੌ ਖਹੈ ਬਾਨ ਬਾਨੇ ॥
chalai seeghrataa sau khahai baan baane |Arrows were flying fast.
ਉਠੈ ਅਗਨ ਜ੍ਵਾਲਾ ਲਸੈ ਜ੍ਯੋ ਟਨਾਨੇ ॥
autthai agan jvaalaa lasai jayo ttanaane |The sparks that came out (by their eating) looked like fireflies.
ਕਹੂੰ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੈ ਪਰੇ ਮਰਮ ਭੇਦੇ ॥
kahoon charam baramai pare maram bhede |Shields and armor were pierced somewhere.
ਕਹੂੰ ਮਾਸ ਕੇ ਗੀਧ ਲੈ ਗੇ ਲਬੇਦੇ ॥੨੨॥
kahoon maas ke geedh lai ge labede |22|Somewhere the vultures were carrying the pieces of meat. 22.
ਕਹੂੰ ਅੰਗੁਲਿਤ੍ਰਾਣ ਕਾਟੇ ਪਰੇ ਹੈ ॥
kahoon angulitraan kaatte pare hai |The gloves were cut somewhere.
ਕਹੂੰ ਅੰਗੁਲੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਰਤਨੈ ਝਰੇ ਹੈ ॥
kahoon angulee kaatt ratanai jhare hai |Somewhere gems were falling from the cut fingers (rings).
ਰਹੀ ਹਾਥ ਹੀ ਮੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੈ ਕਟਾਰੇ ॥
rahee haath hee mai kripaanai kattaare |Many were left with knives and kirpans in their hands
ਗਿਰੈ ਜੂਝਿ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਪਰੇ ਭੂਮ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੨੩॥
girai joojh kai kai pare bhoom maare |23|And they were lying on the ground after fighting. 23.
ਤਬੈ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕੈ ਚੰਦੇਲੇ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥
tabai kop kai kai chandele sidhaae |Then the Chandelas (warriors) went away in anger.
ਬਧੇ ਚੁੰਗ ਚੁੰਗੀ ਚਲੇ ਖੇਤ ਆਏ ॥
badhe chung chungee chale khet aae |They came to the battlefield by jumping and jumping.
ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਘੇਰਿਯੋ ਹਰੀ ਕਿਸਨ ਕੌ ਯੌ ॥
