ਕਰ ਅੰਸੁਮਾਲੀ ॥
kar ansumaalee |

Like the rays of the sun,

ਸਰੰ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਾਲੀ ॥
saran satru saalee |

That's how arrows pierce enemies.

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰਿ ਛੂਟੇ ॥
chahoon or chhootte |

(Arrows) are shooting from all four sides.

ਮਹਾ ਜੋਧ ਜੂਟੇ ॥੪੨੯॥
mahaa jodh jootte |429|

He caused great loss to the enemies with his arrows, the arrows of the great warriors were discharged from all the four sides.429.

ਚਲੇ ਕੀਟਕਾ ਸੇ ॥
chale keettakaa se |

(That army) moving like worms,

ਬਢੇ ਟਿਡਕਾ ਸੇ ॥
badte ttiddakaa se |

or like a swarm of great locusts,

ਕਨੰ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਰੇਤੰ ॥
kanan sindh retan |

Or as much as the grains of sand in the sea

ਤਨੰ ਰੋਮ ਤੇਤੰ ॥੪੩੦॥
tanan rom tetan |430|

The arrows flew like the innumerable worms and locusts and they were countless in numbers like the particles of sand and the hair of the body.430.

ਛੁਟੇ ਸ੍ਵਰਣ ਪੁਖੀ ॥
chhutte svaran pukhee |

Arrows with golden feathers are loose.

ਸੁਧੰ ਸਾਰ ਮੁਖੀ ॥
sudhan saar mukhee |

Their iron head is Lishk.

ਕਲੰ ਕੰਕ ਪਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
kalan kank patree |

Arrows like crow's wings

ਤਜੇ ਜਾਣੁ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥੪੩੧॥
taje jaan chhatree |431|

The arrows, with golden wings and steel tips, were discharged and in this way, the arrows with sharp tips were discharged on the Kshatriyas.431.

ਗਿਰੈ ਰੇਤ ਖੇਤੰ ॥
girai ret khetan |

Sand warriors (as many as many) are falling in battle.

ਨਚੈ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤੰ ॥
nachai bhoot pretan |

Ghosts and ghosts are dancing.

ਕਰੈ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚਾਰੰ ॥
karai chitr chaaran |

are made like beautiful pictures.

ਤਜੈ ਬਾਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥੪੩੨॥
tajai baan dhaaran |432|

The warriors began to fall in the battlefield and the ghosts and fiends danced, the fighters, getting pleased, showered arrows.432.

ਲਹੈ ਜੋਧ ਜੋਧੰ ॥
lahai jodh jodhan |

Warriors see warriors

ਕਰੈ ਘਾਇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੰ ॥
karai ghaae krodhan |

And they hurt (the enemy) in anger.

ਖਹੈ ਖਗ ਖਗੈ ॥
khahai khag khagai |

Swords clash with swords.

ਉਠੈ ਝਾਲ ਅਗੈ ॥੪੩੩॥
autthai jhaal agai |433|

The warriors challenging others in fury, inflicted wounds on them, with the collision of dagger with the dagger, the sparks of fire were emited.433.

ਨਚੇ ਪਖਰਾਲੇ ॥
nache pakharaale |

Horsemen with saddles dance.

ਚਲੇ ਬਾਲ ਆਲੇ ॥
chale baal aale |

They go to the homes of the destitute.

ਹਸੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਨਾਚੈ ॥
hase pret naachai |

Ghosts laugh and dance.

ਰਣੰ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੈ ॥੪੩੪॥
ranan rang raachai |434|

The horses danced and the ghosts roamed, the fiends, laughingly were absorbed in war.434.

ਨਚੇ ਪਾਰਬਤੀਸੰ ॥
nache paarabateesan |

Shiva is dancing.

ਮੰਡਿਓ ਜੁਧ ਈਸੰ ॥
manddio judh eesan |

He has waged war.

ਦਸੰ ਦਿਉਸ ਕੁਧੰ ॥
dasan diaus kudhan |

Anger is hidden in ten directions.

ਭਯੋ ਘੋਰ ਜੁਧੰ ॥੪੩੫॥
bhayo ghor judhan |435|

Shiva also fought, while dancing, and in this way, for ten days, this ire-full war was fought.435.

ਪੁਨਰ ਬੀਰ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ੍ਰਯੋ ॥
punar beer tayaagrayo |

Then the warriors have abandoned (the war).

ਪਗੰ ਦ੍ਵੈਕੁ ਭਾਗ੍ਯੋ ॥
pagan dvaik bhaagayo |

Two steps have been taken backwards.

ਫਿਰ੍ਯੋ ਫੇਰਿ ਐਸੇ ॥
firayo fer aaise |

Then there are the layers

ਕ੍ਰੋਧੀ ਸਾਪ ਜੈਸੇ ॥੪੩੬॥
krodhee saap jaise |436|

Then the king, abandoning his spirit of bravery, ran for two steps, but then he rotated like the revengful snake.436.

ਪੁਨਰ ਜੁਧ ਮੰਡਿਓ ॥
punar judh manddio |

Then the war started.

ਸਰੰ ਓਘ ਛੰਡਿਓ ॥
saran ogh chhanddio |

Too many arrows have been shot.

ਤਜੈ ਵੀਰ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
tajai veer baanan |

Brave warriors shoot arrows,

ਮ੍ਰਿਤੰ ਆਇ ਤ੍ਰਾਣੰ ॥੪੩੭॥
mritan aae traanan |437|

Then he again began the war and showered arrows, the warriors discharged arrows and the death released them from the terror of the war.437.

ਸਭੈ ਸਿਧ ਦੇਖੈ ॥
sabhai sidh dekhai |

All righteous people are watching.

ਕਲੰਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਲੇਖੈ ॥
kalankrit lekhai |

(of the Kalki avatar) are writing the kirti.

ਧਨੰ ਧੰਨਿ ਜੰਪੈ ॥
dhanan dhan janpai |

Blessed seem blessed

ਲਖੈ ਭੀਰ ਕੰਪੈ ॥੪੩੮॥
lakhai bheer kanpai |438|

All the adepts saw Kalki and repeated “bravo, bravo”, the cowards trembled on seeing him.438.

ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
naraaj chhand |

NARAAJ STANZA

ਆਨਿ ਆਨਿ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸੰਧਾਨਿ ਬਾਨ ਧਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
aan aan sooramaa sandhaan baan dhaavaheen |

The warriors come and aim their arrows and move forward.

ਰੂਝਿ ਜੂਝ ਕੈ ਮਰੈ ਸੁ ਦੇਵ ਨਾਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
roojh joojh kai marai su dev naar paavaheen |

The warriors aiming the targets of their arrows marched forward and embracing martyrdom in the war, they wedded the heavenly damsels

ਸੁ ਰੀਝਿ ਰੀਝਿ ਅਛਰਾ ਅਲਛ ਸੂਰਣੋ ਬਰੈਂ ॥
su reejh reejh achharaa alachh soorano barain |

(Those) deva women disguise themselves as invisible (or invisible) warriors.

ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਬੀਨਿ ਬੀਨ ਕੈ ਸੁਧੀਨ ਪਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਧਰੈਂ ॥੪੩੯॥
prabeen been been kai sudheen paan kai dharain |439|

The heavenly damsels, also being pleased, began to wed the warriors catching their hands after selecting them.439.

ਸਨਧ ਬਧ ਅਧ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਬਿਰੁਧਿ ਸੂਰ ਧਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
sanadh badh adh hvai birudh soor dhaavaheen |

The armed warriors charge in front with their bows tied ('badh adh').

ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਸਾਗ ਤੀਛਣੰ ਕਿ ਤਾਕਿ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਲਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
su krodh saag teechhanan ki taak satru laavaheen |

The warriors, getting bedecked, fell on the direction of the opponents and striking sharp lances on the enemies

ਸੁ ਜੂਝਿ ਜੂਝ ਕੈ ਗਿਰੈ ਅਲੂਝ ਲੂਝ ਕੈ ਹਠੀਂ ॥
su joojh joojh kai girai aloojh loojh kai hattheen |

They fall fighting in battle and the hati (warriors) fight unscathed.
