ਆਪੁ ਹਾਥ ਦੈ ਸਾਧ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
aap haath dai saadh ubaare |He saved the saints by giving his hand
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਨੇਕ ਛਿਨਕ ਮੋ ਟਾਰੇ ॥੨੭੯॥
satru anek chhinak mo ttaare |279|And killed many enemies in the trenches. 279.
ਅਸਿਧੁਜ ਜੂ ਕੋਪਾ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਰਨ ॥
asidhuj joo kopaa jab hee ran |When Asidhuja (Maha Kaal) got angry in Ran
ਮਾਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਤ੍ਰੁਗਨ ਚੁਨਿ ਚੁਨਿ ॥
maarat bhayo satrugan chun chun |(Then) he killed the enemies selectively.
ਸਭ ਸਿਵਕਨ ਕਹ ਲਿਓ ਉਬਾਰਾ ॥
sabh sivakan kah lio ubaaraa |Saved all the servants
ਦੁਸਟ ਗਠਨ ਕੋ ਕਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਾ ॥੨੮੦॥
dusatt gatthan ko karaa prahaaraa |280|And struck the group of evildoers. 280.
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਨੇ ਦੁਸਟ ਜਬ ਕਾਲਾ ॥
eih bidh hane dusatt jab kaalaa |When time has thus slain the wicked,
ਗਿਰਿ ਗਿਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਧਰਨਿ ਬਿਕਰਾਲਾ ॥
gir gir pare dharan bikaraalaa |(Then) terrible (demons) began to fall on the earth.
ਨਿਜ ਹਾਥਨ ਦੈ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥
nij haathan dai sant ubaare |He saved the saints with his own hands
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਨਿਕ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥੨੮੧॥
satru anek tanik meh maare |281|And killed many enemies in the trenches. 281.
ਦਾਨਵ ਅਮਿਤ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
daanav amit kop kar dtooke |Innumerable giants came in anger
ਮਾਰਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਦਸੌ ਦਿਸਿ ਕੂਕੇ ॥
maareh maar dasau dis kooke |And 'Maro Maro' started shouting from ten directions.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਕਾਲ ਕੁਪਿ ਖੜਗ ਸੰਭਾਰਾ ॥
bahur kaal kup kharrag sanbhaaraa |Kal got angry and took over Kharg again
ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਸੈਨ ਪਲ ਬੀਚ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਾ ॥੨੮੨॥
satru sain pal beech prahaaraa |282|And immediately attacked the enemy's army. 282.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਸਟ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
bahur kop kar dusatt apaaraa |By doing immense evil wrath
ਮਹਾ ਕਾਲ ਕੌ ਚਹਤ ਸੰਘਾਰਾ ॥
mahaa kaal kau chahat sanghaaraa |Then wanted to kill Maha Kal.
ਜਿਮਿ ਗਗਨਹਿ ਕੋਈ ਬਾਨ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥
jim gaganeh koee baan chalaavai |As one shoots an arrow at the sky, (it) does not hit the sky,
ਤਾਹਿ ਨ ਲਗੇ ਤਿਸੀ ਪਰ ਆਵੈ ॥੨੮੩॥
taeh na lage tisee par aavai |283|Rather, it seems to him (the driver). 283.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਾਦਿਤ੍ਰ ਬਜਾਇ ॥
bhaat bhaat baaditr bajaae |The giants played the bells
ਦਾਨਵ ਨਿਕਟ ਪਹੂਚੇ ਆਇ ॥
daanav nikatt pahooche aae |And approached (the great age).
ਮਹਾ ਕਾਲ ਤਬ ਬਿਰਦ ਸੰਭਾਰੋ ॥
mahaa kaal tab birad sanbhaaro |Maha Kala then took up his duties.
ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਿ ਦੋਖਿਯਨ ਮਾਰੋ ॥੨੮੪॥
sant ubaar dokhiyan maaro |284|And saved the saints by killing the wicked. 284.
ਖੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਕਰਿ ਦਾਨਵ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
khandd khandd kar daanav maare |(He) killed the giants by cutting them to pieces
ਤਿਲ ਤਿਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਇ ਸਕਲ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
til til praae sakal kar ddaare |And made everyone equal ('Prai') to Til Til.
ਪਾਵਕਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
paavakaasatr kal bahur chalaayo |Kali (Kaal) then fired the fiery astra
ਸੈਨ ਅਸੁਰ ਕੋ ਸਗਲ ਗਿਰਾਯੋ ॥੨੮੫॥
sain asur ko sagal giraayo |285|And destroyed the entire army of giants. 285.
ਬਰੁਣਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਦਾਨਵ ਤਬ ਛੋਰਾ ॥
barunaasatr daanav tab chhoraa |Then the demons released Varuna's weapon,
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਵਕਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਕਹ ਮੋਰਾ ॥
jaa te paavakaasatr kah moraa |With which Agni diverted the astra.
ਬਾਸ੍ਵਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਬ ਕਾਲ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
baasvaasatr tab kaal chalaayo |Then Kala wielded the Basava astra
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਰਛ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੨੮੬॥
eindr pratrachh hvai judh machaayo |286|And Indra appeared and started a war. 286.
ਦਾਨਵ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਠਾਢ ਰਨ ਬਾਸਵ ॥
daanav nirakh tthaadt ran baasav |Seeing Indra ('Basava') standing in the desert
ਪੀਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਕੂਪ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਆਸਵ ॥
peevat bhayo koop dvai aasav |The giant drank two wells of wine.
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਕੋਪ ਅਤੁਲ ਅਸ ਗਰਜਾ ॥
kar kai kop atul as garajaa |Roaring in great anger,
ਭੂੰਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਨਿ ਲਰਜਾ ॥੨੮੭॥
bhoonm akaas sabad sun larajaa |287|Hearing (whose) sound, the earth and sky began to tremble. 287.
ਅਮਿਤ ਬਾਸਵਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
amit baasaveh baan prahaare |(He) shot innumerable arrows at Indra
ਬਰਮ ਚਰਮ ਸਭ ਭੇਦਿ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥
baram charam sabh bhed padhaare |which pierced the shields and armor and crossed.
ਜਨੁਕ ਨਾਗ ਬਾਬੀ ਧਸਿ ਗਏ ॥
januk naag baabee dhas ge |(It looked like) as if the snakes had entered their holes
ਭੂਤਲ ਭੇਦਿ ਪਤਾਰ ਸਿਧਏ ॥੨੮੮॥
bhootal bhed pataar sidhe |288|And having torn the earth and gone to the underworld. 288.
ਅਮਿਤ ਰੋਸ ਬਾਸਵ ਤਬ ਕਿਯਾ ॥
amit ros baasav tab kiyaa |Then Indra was very angry
ਧਨੁਖ ਬਾਨ ਕਰ ਭੀਤਰ ਲਿਯਾ ॥
dhanukh baan kar bheetar liyaa |And took the bow and arrow in hand.
ਅਮਿਤ ਕੋਪ ਕਰਿ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
amit kop kar bisikh prahaare |Being very angry, he shot arrows
ਫੋਰਿ ਦਾਨਵਨ ਪਾਰ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥੨੮੯॥
for daanavan paar padhaare |289|Who broke through the giants and came out. 289.
ਦਾਨਵ ਅਧਿਕ ਰੋਸ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
daanav adhik ros kar dhaae |The demon (again) got angry and attacked
ਦੇਵ ਪੂਜ ਰਨ ਮਾਝ ਭਜਾਏ ॥
dev pooj ran maajh bhajaae |And chased the god-worshippers out of the Rann.
ਭਜਤ ਦੇਵ ਨਿਰਖੇ ਕਲਿ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
bhajat dev nirakhe kal jab hee |When Kali (the great age) saw the gods fleeing from war,
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਛੋਰੇ ਰਨ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥੨੯੦॥
sasatr asatr chhore ran tab hee |290|Then they gave up (all) weapons and armor in the war. 290.
ਬਾਨਨ ਕੀ ਬਰਖਾ ਕਲਿ ਕਰੀ ॥
baanan kee barakhaa kal karee |Kali fired the arrows
ਲਾਗਤ ਸੈਨ ਦਾਨਵੀ ਜਰੀ ॥
laagat sain daanavee jaree |At the sight of which the giant army was destroyed.
