ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਸੁਤਾ ਤੁਰਕ ਕਹ ਦੈਹੈ ॥੨੬॥
chhatree sutaa turak kah daihai |26|Who will give (his) daughter to Chhatri Turk. 26.
ਹਾਡਿਯਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਤੁਰਕਿ ਨਹਿ ਦਈ ॥
haaddiyan sutaa turak neh dee |The Hadis have not (yet) given birth to the Turks
ਛਤ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤੁਰਕਨੀ ਨ ਭਈ ॥
chhatraanee turakanee na bhee |And (no) Chhatrani Turkani took place.
ਕਛ ਰਜਪੂਤਨ ਲਾਜ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
kachh rajapootan laaj gavaaee |Some Rajputs have lost the lodge
ਰਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਬੇਗਮਾ ਕਹਾਈ ॥੨੭॥
raanee te begamaa kahaaee |27|And (their wives) are called begums from queens. 27.
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਧਰੈ ਇਹੌ ਨਿਜੁ ਬੁਧਾ ॥
ab mai dharai ihau nij budhaa |Now this thing has come to my mind
ਮੰਡੌ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤ ਮਹਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧਾ ॥
manddau beer khet meh krudhaa |To be angry and wage war in the battlefield like a warrior.
ਪਹਿਰਿ ਕੌਚ ਕਰਿ ਖੜਗ ਸੰਭਾਰੌਂ ॥
pahir kauach kar kharrag sanbhaarauan |Put on the armor and take care of the kharg
ਚੁਨਿ ਚੁਨਿ ਆਜੁ ਪਖਰਿਯਾ ਮਾਰੌਂ ॥੨੮॥
chun chun aaj pakhariyaa maarauan |28|And kill the horsemen by choice. 28.
ਤਬ ਕੰਨ੍ਯਾ ਨਿਜੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਕਾਰਾ ॥
tab kanayaa nij pitaa hakaaraa |Then the father called his daughter
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
eih bidh taa sau mantr uchaaraa |And so reasoned with him.
ਤਾਤ ਤਨਿਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹਿ ਕਰੀਯੈ ॥
taat tanik chintaa neh kareeyai |(Daughter replied) O father! Don't worry too much
ਸਨਮੁਖ ਪਾਤਿਸਾਹ ਸੌ ਲਰੀਯੈ ॥੨੯॥
sanamukh paatisaah sau lareeyai |29|And face the king and fight. 29.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਬੋਲ ਸਦਾ ਥਿਰ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਵਸਰੇ ਜਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
bol sadaa thir rahai divasare jaae hai |Days pass, but words remain forever.
ਕਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਛਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਾਰਣ ਗਾਇ ਹੈ ॥
kare karam chhatrin ke chaaran gaae hai |Charan (Bhat) people keep singing about the deeds done by Chhatriyas.
ਤਾਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕੋ ਦੀਜੈ ਆਹਵ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥
taat na mo ko deejai aahav keejiyai |Oh father! Do not give me (the Turks) and make war.
ਹੋ ਦਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਜਸ ਲੀਜਿਯੈ ॥੩੦॥
ho daan kripaan duhoon jag mai jas leejiyai |30|By doing both the work of donating and holding the Kirpan, stand in Jag (Meaning- get Jas in both people by donating the Kirpan.) 30.
ਖੜਗ ਹਾਥ ਜਿਨਿ ਤਜਹੁ ਖੜਗਧਾਰਾ ਸਹੋ ॥
kharrag haath jin tajahu kharragadhaaraa saho |Do not let go of the sword and bear the edge of the sword.
ਭਾਜਿ ਨ ਚਲਿਯਹੁ ਤਾਤ ਮੰਡਿ ਰਨ ਕੌ ਰਹੋ ॥
bhaaj na chaliyahu taat mandd ran kau raho |Oh father! Start the war and stand firm and don't run away.
ਪਠੇ ਪਖਰਿਯਾ ਹਨਿਯਹੁ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਕਰਿ ॥
patthe pakhariyaa haniyahu bisikh prahaar kar |Kill the young horsemen with arrows.
ਹੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਰਿਨ ਕੌ ਮਰਿਯਹੁ ਹਮਹਿ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਕਰਿ ॥੩੧॥
ho maar arin kau mariyahu hameh sanghaar kar |31|Kill the enemies and (then) kill me yourself. 31.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਇਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਾਈ ॥
sunahu pitaa ik karahu upaaee |Oh father! Listen, (I) do a measure
ਸਮਸਦੀਨ ਕਹ ਲੇਹੁ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥
samasadeen kah lehu bulaaee |And I call Shamsdin.
ਜਬ ਆਵੇ ਤਬ ਪਕਰਿ ਸੰਘਰਿਯਹੁ ॥
jab aave tab pakar sanghariyahu |When (he) comes then catch him and kill him.
ਬਹੁਰੌ ਨਿਕਸਿ ਜੁਧ ਕੌ ਕਰਿਯਹੁ ॥੩੨॥
bahurau nikas judh kau kariyahu |32|Then go out and fight (with the enemy). 32.
ਸਿਧ ਪਾਲ ਤਬ ਐਸ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ॥
sidh paal tab aais bichaaree |Then Siddh Pal thought like this
ਭਲੀ ਬਾਤ ਇਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
bhalee baat in sutaa uchaaree |That the daughter has said a good thing.
ਅੰਤਹਪੁਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਿਰ ਆਯੋ ॥
antahapur te baahir aayo |He came out of Ranvas
ਬੋਲਿ ਪਠਾਨਨ ਐਸ ਜਤਾਯੋ ॥੩੩॥
bol patthaanan aais jataayo |33|And called the Pathans and explained in this way. 33.
ਏ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕੇ ਬਡੇ ਬਨਾਏ ॥
e hai prabh ke badde banaae |These (kings) are made by the Lord.
ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਸੇ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਪਗ ਲਾਏ ॥
ham tum se in ke pag laae |We, like you, are at their feet.
ਜੋ ਇਨ ਕਹਾ ਵਹੈ ਮਨ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
jo in kahaa vahai man maanaa |I believe in what they have said
ਸਿਰ ਪਰ ਹੁਕਮ ਸਾਹ ਕੋ ਆਨਾ ॥੩੪॥
sir par hukam saah ko aanaa |34|And I take the king's command on my forehead. 34.
ਤਬ ਮਿਲਿ ਖਾਨ ਸਾਹ ਕੇ ਗਏ ॥
tab mil khaan saah ke ge |Then the Pathans went to the king together
ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਅਨੰਦਿਤ ਭਏ ॥
at hee hridai anandit bhe |And was very happy in the heart.
ਤੁਰਕਹਿ ਛਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਨ ਦਈ ॥
turakeh chhatrin sutaa na dee |Chhatriyas never gave birth to the Turks.
ਹਸਿ ਹੈ ਇਨੈ ਭਲੀ ਇਹ ਭਈ ॥੩੫॥
has hai inai bhalee ih bhee |35|They gladly accepted (so) it was good. (Meaning - This is a good thing, now we will laugh at them) 35.
ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਇਤੈ ਪਿਤਹਿ ਸਮੁਝਾਵੈ ॥
duhitaa itai piteh samujhaavai |Here the daughter had to explain to the father
ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਨਮੁ ਫੇਰਿ ਨਹਿ ਆਵੈ ॥
chhatree janam fer neh aavai |That Chhatri birth will not be met again.
ਅਬ ਲੌ ਐਸੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਪਈ ॥
ab lau aaisee baat na pee |So far such a thing has not happened
ਤੁਰਕਨ ਕੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਗਈ ॥੩੬॥
turakan ke chhatraanee gee |36|That the (house) of the Turks has been sheltered. 36.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਮੋਹਿ ਨ ਦੀਜੈ ਤਾਤਾ ॥
taa te mohi na deejai taataa |So O Father! Do not (refer to the king) me
ਮੰਡਹੁ ਜੁਧ ਹੋਤ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਤਾ ॥
manddahu judh hot hee praataa |And make war in the morning.
ਚਲਿ ਹੈ ਕਥਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਗ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
chal hai kathaa sadaa jag maahee |This story will always be in the world.
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਪਠਾਨ ਕਿ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥੩੭॥
praat patthaan ki chhatree naahee |37|In the morning, either there will be no pathans or there will be no chhatris. 37.
ਪਹਿਰਹੁ ਕੌਚ ਬਜਾਇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
pahirahu kauach bajaae nagaare |Put on the armor and play the bells
