ਚਿਕਾਰ ਚਾਵਡੀ ਨਭੰ ਫਿਕੰਤ ਫਿੰਕਰੀ ਫਿਰੰ ॥
chikaar chaavaddee nabhan fikant finkaree firan |

The eerie sound of blowing the nafiris is happening continuously.

ਭਕਾਰ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤਣੰ ਡਿਕਾਰ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਡੁਲੰ ॥੭੯੨॥
bhakaar bhoot pretanan ddikaar ddaakanee ddulan |792|

The vultures shrieked and roamed circularly in the sky , the ghosts and fiends began to shout in the battlefield and the vampires roamed while belching. 792.

ਗਿਰੈ ਧਰੰ ਧੁਰੰ ਧਰੰ ਧਰਾ ਧਰੰ ਧਰੰ ਜਿਵੰ ॥
girai dharan dhuran dharan dharaa dharan dharan jivan |

Seeing Bharata in the battlefield, the warriors run away in fear.

ਭਭਜਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਣਤੰ ਤਣੈ ਉਠੰਤ ਭੈ ਕਰੀ ਧੁਨੰ ॥
bhabhaj sraunatan tanai utthant bhai karee dhunan |

The warriors, on whatever side of the earth they were, began to fal, the blood flowed from the bodies of the fleeing warriors and there were terrible shouts

ਉਠੰਤ ਗਦ ਸਦਣੰ ਨਨਦ ਨਿਫਿਰੰ ਰਣੰ ॥
autthant gad sadanan nanad nifiran ranan |

Balak (Love and Kush) angrily shoot arrows into the foreheads of the warriors.

ਬਬਰਖ ਸਾਇਕੰ ਸਿਤੰ ਘੁਮੰਤ ਜੋਧਣੋ ਬ੍ਰਣੰ ॥੭੯੩॥
babarakh saaeikan sitan ghumant jodhano branan |793|

The resonance of fifes filled the battlefield and the clusters of warriors showering the arrows and being inflicted with wounds began to wander.793.

ਭਜੰਤ ਭੈ ਧਰੰ ਭਟੰ ਬਿਲੋਕ ਭਰਥਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥
bhajant bhai dharan bhattan bilok bharathano ranan |

Here ends the Bhartha-bandha chapter of Ramavatara of Sri Bachitra Natak.

ਚਲਯੋ ਚਿਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਚਪੀ ਬਬਰਖ ਸਾਇਕੋ ਸਿਤੰ ॥
chalayo chiraae kai chapee babarakh saaeiko sitan |

Seeing the war of Bharat, many warriors began to run away fearfully. On this side, in great fury, Bharat began to shower arrows.

ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਸਾਇਕੰ ਸਿਸੰ ਬਬਧ ਭਾਲਣੋ ਭਟੰ ॥
su krudh saaeikan sisan babadh bhaalano bhattan |

The warriors fled in fear and left Bharata alone on earth.

ਪਪਾਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਵੀਯੰ ਹਠੀ ਮਮੋਹ ਆਸ੍ਰ ਮੰਗਤੰ ॥੭੯੪॥
papaat prithaveeyan hatthee mamoh aasr mangatan |794|

The sons of the sage in great ire showered a volley of arrows and caused Bharat to fall on the earth.794.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਰਾਮਾਵਤਾਰੇ ਭਰਥ ਬਧਹਿ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥
eit sree bachitr naattake raamaavataare bharath badheh dhiaae samaapatan |

When Sita's lord (Sri Rama) heard the struggle of Bharata's brother

ANOOP NIRAAJ STANZA

ਭਭਜਿ ਭੀਤਣੋ ਭਟੰ ਤਤਜਿ ਭਰਥਣੋ ਭੂਅੰ ॥
bhabhaj bheetano bhattan tataj bharathano bhooan |

To drive away mighty warriors and smite the mighty with wrath,

ਗਿਰੰਤ ਲੁਥਤੰ ਉਠੰ ਰੁਰੋਦ ਰਾਘਵੰ ਤਟੰ ॥
girant luthatan utthan rurod raaghavan tattan |

The warriors fled leaving Bharat fallen on the earth and rising and falling over corpses they came to Ram.

ਜੁਝੇ ਸੁ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਭਰਥਣੋ ਸੁਣੰਤ ਜਾਨਕੀ ਪਤੰ ॥
jujhe su bhraat bharathano sunant jaanakee patan |

With them thunder like the thunder of the clouds, from which emanates a fearful tone.

ਪਪਾਤ ਭੂਮਿਣੋ ਤਲੰ ਅਪੀੜ ਪੀੜਤੰ ਦੁਖੰ ॥੭੯੫॥
papaat bhoomino talan apeerr peerratan dukhan |795|

When Ram came to Know of the death of Bharat, then highly anguished with sorrows he fell down of the earth.795.

ਸਸਜ ਜੋਧਣੰ ਜੁਧੀ ਸੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਬਧਣੋ ਬਰੰ ॥
sasaj jodhanan judhee su krudh badhano baran |

Witches scream in the sky and jackals roam the earth.

ਤਤਜਿ ਜਗ ਮੰਡਲੰ ਅਦੰਡ ਦੰਡਣੋ ਨਰੰ ॥
tataj jag manddalan adandd danddano naran |

Ram himself started for war in great fury after decorating his army of warriors in order to kill the brave fighters and punish the unpunished

ਸੁ ਗਜ ਬਜ ਬਾਜਣੋ ਉਠੰਤ ਭੈ ਧਰੀ ਸੁਰੰ ॥
su gaj baj baajano utthant bhai dharee suran |

Parbati wears the head (of warriors in rund-mala) and Shiva is dancing in the desert.

ਸਨਧ ਬਧ ਖੈ ਦਲੰ ਸਬਧ ਜੋਧਣੋ ਬਰੰ ॥੭੯੬॥
sanadh badh khai dalan sabadh jodhano baran |796|

Hearing the voices of the elephants and the horses, the gods also became fearful and in this army there were several heroes who could destroy the bedecked forces.796.

ਭਖੰਤ ਮਾਸ ਹਾਰਣੰ ਬਮੰਤ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਦੁਰਗਯੰ ॥
bhakhant maas haaranan bamant jvaal duragayan |

Roaming in he sky, the vultures began to move on the earth, the goddess Durga, appeared showering innumerable fires and eating the flesh.

ਪੁਅੰਤ ਪਾਰਬਤੀ ਸਿਰੰ ਨਚੰਤ ਈਸਣੋ ਰਣੰ ॥
puant paarabatee siran nachant eesano ranan |

Arrows fly,

ਭਕੰਤ ਭੂਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਤਣੋ ਬਕੰਤ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਲੰ ॥੭੯੭॥
bhakant bhoot pretano bakant beer baitalan |797|

It seemed that Shiva, the lord of Parvati, was engaged in Tandava dance in the battlefield. The heinous shouts of ghosts, fiends and brave Vaitals are being heard.797.

ਤਿਲਕਾ ਛੰਦ ॥
tilakaa chhand |

TILKA STANZA

ਜੁਟੇ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
jutte veeran |

(to whom) the arrows are shooting

ਛੁਟੇ ਤੀਰੰ ॥
chhutte teeran |

They are running away.

ਫੁਟੇ ਅੰਗੰ ॥
futte angan |

Religion

ਤੁਟੇ ਤੰਗੰ ॥੭੯੮॥
tutte tangan |798|

The warriors began to fight, the arrows were showered, the limbs were chopped and the saddles of the horses were torn.798.

ਭਗੇ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
bhage veeran |

Warriors are fighting,

ਲਗੇ ਤੀਰੰ ॥
lage teeran |

Furious with anger

ਪਿਖੇ ਰਾਮੰ ॥
pikhe raaman |

(And they say-) Tie the two children

ਧਰਮੰ ਧਾਮੰ ॥੭੯੯॥
dharaman dhaaman |799|

The warriors began to run on being shot by arrows the sbode of Dharma (Ram) saw all this.799.

ਜੁਝੇ ਜੋਧੰ ॥
jujhe jodhan |

Then they are close enough,

ਮਚੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੰ ॥
mache krodhan |

is surrounded

ਬੰਧੋ ਬਾਲੰ ॥
bandho baalan |

Both child heroes

ਬੀਰ ਉਤਾਲੰ ॥੮੦੦॥
beer utaalan |800|

Being enraged the warriors began to fight and said, “Arrest and bind these boys quickly.”800.

ਢੁਕੇ ਫੇਰ ॥

Without hesitation

ਲਿਨੇ ਘੇਰ ॥

shoot arrows,

ਵੀਰੈਂ ਬਾਲ ॥
veerain baal |

Heroes are falling,

ਜਿਉ ਦ੍ਵੈਕਾਲ ॥੮੦੧॥
jiau dvaikaal |801|

The soldiers rushed forth and besieged both the death-like radiant boy.801.

ਤਜੀ ਕਾਣ ॥
tajee kaan |

(many) limbs are cut off,

ਮਾਰੇ ਬਾਣ ॥
maare baan |

(many) have fallen in battle,

ਡਿਗੇ ਵੀਰ ॥
ddige veer |

Of heroes in war

ਭਗੇ ਧੀਰ ॥੮੦੨॥
bhage dheer |802|

The boys fearlessly discharged arrows with which the warriors fell and very enduring ones fled away.802.
