ਪੁਨਿ ਅਪਛ੍ਰਨ ਆਇਸ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
pun apachhran aaeis deejai |(Now) then allow the adversaries
ਜਾ ਸੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰੀਝੈ ਸੋਈ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
jaa so nrip reejhai soee keejai |(That he) do that which pleases the king.
ਕਉਤਕਿ ਹੇਰਿ ਭੂਪ ਜਬ ਲੈ ਹੈ ॥
kautak her bhoop jab lai hai |When the king will see their death
ਘਟਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ਬਲ ਮਨ ਦ੍ਰਵਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੬੭੬॥
ghatt jai hai bal man drav jai hai |1676|“Therefore command the heavenly damsels to do that with which the king feels pleased, when the king will be immersed in such a spectacle, his power will decline.”1676.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |DOHRA
ਕਮਲਜ ਯੌ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸੁਨੀ ਬਾਤ ਸੁਰਰਾਜ ॥
kamalaj yau har siau kahiyo sunee baat suraraaj |Brahma spoke thus to Sri Krishna and Indra heard (this).
ਨਭਿ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਬਾਸਵ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕਰਹੁ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੁਰਰਾਜ ॥੧੬੭੭॥
nabh nihaar baasav kahiyo karahu nrit suraraaj |1677|When Brahma said this, Indra heard all this, Brahma looking towards the sky, said to Indra, “O the king of gods! arrange the dance.”1677.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਉਤ ਦੇਵਬਧੂ ਮਿਲਿ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰੈ ਇਤ ਸੂਰ ਸਬੈ ਮਿਲ ਜੁਧੁ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
aut devabadhoo mil nrit karai it soor sabai mil judh machaayo |On that side, the heavenly damsels began to dance, and on this side, the warriors began the war
ਕਿੰਨਰ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਗਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਉਤ ਮਾਰੂ ਬਜੈ ਰਨ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਯੋ ॥
kinar gandhrab gaavat hai ut maaroo bajai ran mangal gaayo |Kinnars and Gandharvas sand and the musical instruments of were played
ਕਉਤੁਕ ਦੇਖਿ ਬਡੋ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਇਹ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਤਉ ਬਿਰਮਾਯੋ ॥
kautuk dekh baddo tin ko ih bhoopat ko man tau biramaayo |After seeing their great sacrifices, the heart of this king (Kharag Singh) has become enamored.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਅਚਾਨ ਲਯੋ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਨਿ ਸੁ ਬਾਨ ਮਹਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਤਨਿ ਲਾਯੋ ॥੧੬੭੮॥
kaanrah achaan layo dhan taan su baan mahaa nrip ke tan laayo |1678|Seeing this spectacle, the mind of the king deviated and at the same time, suddenly Krishna pulled his bow and shot an arrow into the body of the king.1678.
ਲਾਗਤ ਹੀ ਸਰ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਭਯੋ ਤੇਊ ਤੀਰਨ ਸੋ ਬਰ ਬੀਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
laagat hee sar mohit bhayo teaoo teeran so bar beer sanghaare |With the infliction of the arrow, the king became enamoured, but still he killed the warriors
ਗਿਆਰਹ ਰੁਦ੍ਰਨਿ ਕੇ ਅਗਨੰ ਗਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਲਏ ਹਰਿ ਲੋਕਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
giaarah rudran ke aganan gan maar le har lok sidhaare |Killing innumerable ganas of eleven Rudras, he despatched them to the next world
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਭਾਨ ਜਲਾਧਿਪ ਅਉ ਸਸਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਕੇ ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
dvaadas bhaan jalaadhip aau sas indr kuber ke ang prahaare |Twelve Suryas, Varuna, Chandra, Indra, Kuber etc. were struck blows
ਅਉਰ ਜਿਤੇ ਭਟ ਠਾਢੇ ਰਹੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਬਿਪਤੇ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥੧੬੭੯॥
aaur jite bhatt tthaadte rahe kab sayaam kahai bipate kar ddaare |1679|The poet Shyam says that all other warriors struck blows, the poet Shyam says that all other warriors who were standing there, were all put to shame.1679.
ਸਕ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਸਾਠ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਰ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਸਤਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੇ ਗਾਤ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
sakr ko saatth lagaavat bhayo sar dvai sat kaanrah ke gaat lagaae |Indra shot sixty arrows and put two hundred (arrows) in Krishna's body.
ਚਉਸਠਿ ਬਾਨ ਹਨੇ ਜਮ ਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਘਾਏ ॥
chausatth baan hane jam ko rav dvaadas dvaadas ke sang ghaae |He discharged sixty arrows towards Indra, two hundred to Krishna, sixty-four to Yama and twelve to twelve Suryas and wounded them
ਸੋਮ ਕੋ ਸਉ ਸਤ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਚਾਰ ਲਗਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥
som ko sau sat rudr ko chaar lagaavat bhayo kab sayaam sunaae |He shot one hundred arrows to Chandrama and four to Rudra
ਸ੍ਰੌਨ ਭਰੇ ਸਬ ਕੇ ਪਟ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਚਾਚਰ ਖੇਲਿ ਅਬੈ ਭਟ ਆਏ ॥੧੬੮੦॥
srauan bhare sab ke patt maanahu chaachar khel abai bhatt aae |1680|The clothes of all these warriors were saturated with blood, and it seemed that all of them had come after playing Holi.1680.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਅਉਰ ਸੁਭਟ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਤਿਹ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
aaur subhatt bahute tih maare |He slew many other warriors,
ਜੂਝ ਪਰੇ ਜਮ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
joojh pare jam dhaam sidhaare |Many other warriors were killed there and they reached the abode of Yama
ਤਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਪੈ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਚਲ ਆਯੋ ॥
tab nrip pai brahamaa chal aayo |Then Brahma went and came to the king.
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਯਹ ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥੧੬੮੧॥
sayaam bhanai yah bain sunaayo |1681|Then the king came to Brahma and said,1681
ਕਹਿਓ ਸੁ ਕਿਉ ਇਨ ਕਉ ਰਨਿ ਮਾਰੈ ॥
kahio su kiau in kau ran maarai |(Brahma) began to say, (O king! Why do you) kill them in war?
ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਕਿਉ ਸਰ ਡਾਰੈ ॥
brithaa kop kai kiau sar ddaarai |“Why are you killing them in the war, and why are you discharging your arrows in fury in vain?
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਇਹੈ ਕਾਜ ਅਬ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
taa te ihai kaaj ab keejai |So do it now
ਦੇਹ ਸਹਿਤ ਨਭਿ ਮਾਰਗ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧੬੮੨॥
deh sahit nabh maarag leejai |1682|Now you may do one thing and go to heavens alongwith your body.1682.
ਜੁਧ ਕਥਾ ਨਹੀ ਰਿਦੈ ਚਿਤਾਰੋ ॥
judh kathaa nahee ridai chitaaro |Don't think about the Britishness of the war
ਅਪਨੋ ਅਗਲੋ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰੋ ॥
apano agalo kaaj savaaro |“Do no think of war now and amend your future
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਬਿ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
taa te ab bilanb nahee keejai |So don't delay now
ਮੇਰੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਮਾਨ ਕੈ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧੬੮੩॥
mero kahiyo maan kai leejai |1683|Do not delay now and follow my saying.1683.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ਚਲੋ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਸੁਜਾਨ ਸੁਨੋ ਅਬ ਢੀਲ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
eindr ke dhaam chalo balavaan sujaan suno ab dteel na keejai |O strong! Now go to Indra's house. Hey Sujan! Listen, don't delay now.
ਦੇਵਬਧੂ ਜੋਊ ਚਾਹਤ ਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਸੁਖ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
devabadhoo joaoo chaahat hai tin ko mileeai mil kai sukh leejai |“O mighty one! now you may go to the world of Indra without any delay and meeting the desired damsels enjoy them
ਤੇਰੋ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਮਾਨ ਕਹਿਓ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਪੀਜੈ ॥
tero manorath pooran hot hai maan kahio nrip amrit peejai |“O king! you have fulfilled your objective and now you may quaff the nectar of the name of the Lord
ਰਾਜਨ ਰਾਜ ਸਮਾਜ ਤਜੋ ਇਨ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੋ ਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧੬੮੪॥
raajan raaj samaaj tajo in beeran ko na brithaa dukh deejai |1684|You may now leave the company of these kings and do not put tot anguish these warriors uselessly.”1684.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |DOHRA
ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਬਤੀਆ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੀ ਭੂਪ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੁਖ ਦੈਨ ॥
yau sun bateea braham kee bhoop satr dukh dain |One who gives pain to enemies by hearing such words of Brahma
ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤਿ ਹਰਖ ਬਢਾਇ ਕੈ ਬੋਲਿਓ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਬੈਨ ॥੧੬੮੫॥
at chit harakh badtaae kai bolio bidh so bain |1685|Hearing these words of Brahma, that calamitous king for the enemies, getting extremely pleased in his mind, said to Brahma,1685
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਯੌ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸੋ ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
yau brahamaa so bain sunaayo |(The king) spoke thus to Brahma,
ਤੋ ਸਿਉ ਕਹੋ ਜੁ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਆਯੋ ॥
to siau kaho ju man mai aayo |“O Brahma! tell you whatever I think in my mind
ਮੋ ਸੋ ਬੀਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਜਬ ਧਰੈ ॥
mo so beer sasatr jab dharai |When a hero like me dons armor,
ਕਹੋ ਬਿਸਨ ਬਿਨ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਲਰੈ ॥੧੬੮੬॥
kaho bisan bin kaa so larai |1686|A hero like me taking up his weapons, with whom shall he fight except Vishnu?1686.
