ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਗੀ ਸਖੀ ਤਹ ਆਈ ॥
baar na lagee sakhee tah aaee |(Just) It didn't take long and the maid came there.
ਆਨ ਕੁਅਰ ਤਨ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਤਾਈ ॥
aan kuar tan brithaa jataaee |He came and narrated the whole story to Kumar
ਤੋ ਪਰ ਅਟਕਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਭਈ ॥
to par attakat nrip triy bhee |That the king's wife has fallen in love with you.
ਛੂਟਹੁ ਕਸਬ ਲਗਨ ਲਗਿ ਗਈ ॥੫॥
chhoottahu kasab lagan lag gee |5|(His) work has been done away with, (only one) effort has been put in. 5.
ਅਬ ਵਹ ਧਾਮ ਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਰਥ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
ab vah dhaam kritaarath keejai |Now (go to his house) and pray for success.
ਹ੍ਯਾਂ ਤੇ ਚਲਿ ਵਹਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪਗੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
hayaan te chal veh grih pag deejai |Go from here and enter his house.
ਉਠਹੁ ਕੁਅਰ ਜੂ ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਲੈਯੈ ॥
autthahu kuar joo bilam na laiyai |Hey Kumar! Get up early, don't be late
ਰਾਜ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕੇ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹੈਯੈ ॥੬॥
raaj tarun ke sej suhaiyai |6|And please the queen's sage. 6.
ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਬਿਧ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਮਨ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
jih tih bidh taa ko man leenaa |(The maid) as how she won his mind
ਆਨਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਕਹ ਦੀਨਾ ॥
aan milaae kuar kah deenaa |And brought and joined the queen.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਰਿਝਾਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat tih taeh rijhaayo |He teased the queen with all manner of things
ਚਾਰਿ ਪਹਰ ਨਿਸਿ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥੭॥
chaar pahar nis bhog kamaayo |7|And four hours of the night combined. 7.
ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਨਿਸਿ ਸਕਲ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ॥
kel karat nis sakal bihaanee |The whole night passed by making plans
ਕਰਤ ਕਾਮ ਕੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥
karat kaam kee kott kahaanee |And kept talking a lot about sex.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੇ ਆਸਨ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ॥
bhaat bhaat ke aasan kar kai |By doing different postures
ਕਾਮ ਤਪਤ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਕਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ॥੮॥
kaam tapat sabh hee keh har kai |8|Removed all the heat of lust. 8.
ਭੋਰ ਭਯੋ ਰਜਨੀ ਜਬ ਗਈ ॥
bhor bhayo rajanee jab gee |When the night passed and the morning came,
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਚਿਰਈ ਚੁਹਚਈ ॥
bhaat bhaat chiree chuhachee |So many kinds of sparrows began to chirp.
ਸ੍ਰਮਿਤ ਭਏ ਦੋਊ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਤੇ ॥
sramit bhe doaoo kel kamaate |Both got tired while working
ਏਕਹਿ ਸੇਜ ਸੋਏ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੇ ॥੯॥
ekeh sej soe ras maate |9|And fell asleep on the same sedge drunk in the juice. 9.
ਸੋਵਤ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ ਨੀਦਿ ਜਬ ਜਗੇ ॥
sovat tayaag need jab jage |After sleeping, when you wake up from sleep,
ਮਿਲਿ ਕਰਿ ਕੇਲ ਕਰਨ ਤਬ ਲਗੇ ॥
mil kar kel karan tab lage |Then (again) they started playing sex together.
ਆਸਨ ਕਰਤ ਅਨੇਕ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰਾ ॥
aasan karat anek prakaaraa |started doing various postures,
ਕੋਕਹੁੰ ਤੇ ਦਸ ਗੁਨ ਬਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੧੦॥
kokahun te das gun bisataaraa |10|Which were ten times more than Kok Shastra. 10.
ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੈ ॥
kel kamaat adhik ras maatai |Became very engrossed in sexual activity
ਭੂਲਿ ਗਈ ਘਰ ਕੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਸਾਤੈ ॥
bhool gee ghar kee sudh saatai |And the power of the house was completely forgotten.
ਚਿਤ ਅਪਨੋ ਅਸ ਕੀਯਾ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
chit apano as keeyaa bichaaraa |(That queen) thought like this in her mind
ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਥ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥੧੧॥
pragatt mitr ke saath uchaaraa |11|And clearly told the friend. 11.
ਸੁਨਹੁ ਬਾਤ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਮੇਰੀ ॥
sunahu baat payaare tum meree |Oh dear! You listen to me.
ਦਾਸੀ ਭਈ ਆਜ ਮੈ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
daasee bhee aaj mai teree |I have become your maid from today.
ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਟ ਦਰਬ ਕੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
mere tott darab kee naahee |I have no shortage of money.
ਹਮ ਤੁਮ ਆਵਹੁ ਕਹੂੰ ਸਿਧਾਹੀ ॥੧੨॥
ham tum aavahu kahoon sidhaahee |12|(Therefore) let you and I go out somewhere. 12.
ਐਸੋ ਜਤਨ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਿਯੈ ॥
aaiso jatan mitr kachh kariyai |O friend! Make such an effort
ਅਪਨੇ ਲੈ ਮੁਹਿ ਸੰਗ ਸਿਧਰਿਯੈ ॥
apane lai muhi sang sidhariyai |Take me away.
ਅਤਿਥ ਭੇਸ ਦੋਊ ਧਰਿ ਲੈਹੈਂ ॥
atith bhes doaoo dhar laihain |Both of them will wear sadhabhesa
ਇਕ ਠਾ ਬੈਠ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਖੈਹੈਂ ॥੧੩॥
eik tthaa baitth khajaanaa khaihain |13|And we will eat treasure by staying in one place. 13.
ਜਾਰ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਅਬਲਾ ਸੌ ਐਸੇ ॥
jaar kahiyo abalaa sau aaise |The man said to the woman,
ਤੁਹਿ ਨਿਕਸੇ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਕੈਸੇ ॥
tuhi nikase lai kar sang kaise |How can I take you with me?
ਠਾਢੇ ਈਹਾ ਅਨਿਕ ਰਖਵਾਰੇ ॥
tthaadte eehaa anik rakhavaare |Many guards are standing here
ਨਭ ਕੇ ਜਾਤ ਪਖੇਰੂ ਮਾਰੈ ॥੧੪॥
nabh ke jaat pakheroo maarai |14|Who also kill the birds flying in the sky. 14.
ਜੌ ਤੁਹਿ ਮੁਹਿ ਕੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੈ ॥
jau tuhi muhi kau nripat nihaarai |If the king sees you and me
ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਠੌਰ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਰ ਡਾਰੈ ॥
duhoonan tthauar maar kar ddaarai |So let us both be killed.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮ ਅਸ ਕਰਹੁ ਉਪਾਵੈ ॥
taa te tum as karahu upaavai |So you do this
ਮੁਰ ਤੁਰ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧੫॥
mur tur bhed na doosar paavai |15|That no one else could find a secret except me. 15.
ਸੂਰ ਸੂਰ ਕਰਿ ਗਿਰੀ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਧਰਿ ॥
soor soor kar giree tarun dhar |(Rani immediately played the role) Rani fell on the ground saying 'Sul Sul'.
ਜਾਨੁਕ ਗਈ ਸਾਚੁ ਦੈਕੈ ਮਰਿ ॥
jaanuk gee saach daikai mar |(Inj Lagan Lagi) As if the real muchi had died.
ਹਾਇ ਹਾਇ ਕਹ ਨਾਥ ਉਚਾਈ ॥
haae haae kah naath uchaaee |She started calling her husband by saying 'hi hi'.
ਬੈਦ ਲਏ ਸਭ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬੁਲਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
baid le sabh nikatt bulaaee |16|(He) called all the doctors. 16.
ਸਭ ਬੈਦਨ ਸੌ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਾ ॥
sabh baidan sau nripat uchaaraa |The king said to all the doctors
ਯਾ ਕੋ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਛੂ ਉਪਚਾਰਾ ॥
yaa ko karahu kachhoo upachaaraa |That do some remedy.
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਰਾਨੀ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
jaa te raanee marai na paavai |So that the queen could not die
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥੧੭॥
bahur hamaaree sej suhaavai |17|And make my sage pleasant again. 17.
ਬੋਲਤ ਭੀ ਇਕ ਸਖੀ ਸਿਯਾਨੀ ॥
bolat bhee ik sakhee siyaanee |(In this) a wise woman spoke
ਜਿਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੀ ਰਤਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਪਛਾਨੀ ॥
jin triy kee rat kriyaa pachhaanee |Who understood the Rati-Kira of the queen.
ਏਕ ਨਾਰਿ ਬੈਦਨੀ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
ek naar baidanee hamaare |(It was said that) we have a female physician.
ਜਿਹ ਆਗੇ ਕ੍ਯਾ ਬੈਦ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥੧੮॥
jih aage kayaa baid bichaare |18|What are the doctors thinking about that (ability)? 18.
ਜੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੁਮ ਤਾਹਿ ਬੁਲਾਵੋ ॥
jau raajaa tum taeh bulaavo |O Rajan! If you call him
ਤਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਉਪਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਵੋ ॥
taahee te upachaar karaavo |And get treatment from him.
ਰਾਨੀ ਬਚੈ ਬਿਲੰਬ ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ॥
raanee bachai bilanb na laavai |(So she) will not delay and the queen will be saved.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵੈ ॥੧੯॥
bahur tihaaree sej suhaavai |19|Then your sage will be pleasant. 19.
ਸੋਈ ਬਾਤ ਰਾਜੈ ਜਬ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
soee baat raajai jab maanee |When the king accepted that
ਬੋਲ ਪਠਾਈ ਵਹੈ ਸਿਯਾਨੀ ॥
bol patthaaee vahai siyaanee |So that wise woman (Vedana) was called.
ਜੋ ਤਿਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਾਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਖਾ ॥
jo tin purakh naar kar bhaakhaa |The man whom they had turned into a woman,
ਤਾਹੀ ਕਹ ਬੈਦਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖਾ ॥੨੦॥
taahee kah baidan kar raakhaa |20|Made him a doctor and kept him. 20.
ਸਖੀ ਤਬੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਪਹਿ ਗਈ ॥
sakhee tabai raajaa peh gee |Then the maid went to the king
ਤਾਹਿ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਤ ਭਈ ॥
taeh tarun kar layaavat bhee |And brought her (the male physician) as a wife.
ਜਬ ਤਿਨ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
jab tin triy kee naar nihaaree |When he saw the woman's pulse,
ਰਾਜਾ ਸੋ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੧॥
raajaa so ih bhaat uchaaree |21|So told the king like this. 21.
ਰਾਜ ਰੋਗ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹ ਧਰਿਯੋ ॥
raaj rog raanee kah dhariyo |The queen has got the royal disease (tuberculosis).
ਜਾਤਿ ਸਿਤਾਬੀ ਦੂਰਿ ਨ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥
jaat sitaabee door na kariyo |Which can't be fixed quickly.
ਆਠ ਬਰਿਸ ਲਗਿ ਰਹੈ ਜੁ ਕੋਈ ॥
aatth baris lag rahai ju koee |If one takes (treatment) for eight years,
ਯਾ ਕੋ ਦੂਰਿ ਦੂਖ ਤਬ ਹੋਈ ॥੨੨॥
yaa ko door dookh tab hoee |22|Then its sorrow will be removed. 22.
