ਬਾਜ ਉਠੇ ਤਹ ਕੋਟਿ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
baaj utthe tah kott nagaare |

Millions of nagares started playing there.

ਰੁਝ ਗਿਰੇ ਰਣ ਜੁਝ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੩੭੭॥
rujh gire ran jujh nihaare |377|

Many trumpets sounded there and the onlookers of war, also fell down in fear.377.

CHAAMAR STANZA

ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਲੈ ਸਕੋਪ ਬੀਰ ਬੋਲਿ ਕੈ ਸਬੈ ॥
sasatr asatr lai sakop beer bol kai sabai |

Summoning all the warriors and taking the armor with wrath

ਕੋਪ ਓਪ ਦੈ ਹਠੀ ਸੁ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਪਰੇ ਸਬੈ ॥
kop op dai hatthee su dhaae kai pare sabai |

All the warriors in their fury, took their arms and weapons in their hands, moved forward with persistence and shouting loudly fell upon the opponents

ਕਾਨ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਬਾਨ ਤਾਨਿ ਤਾਨਿ ਤੋਰ ਹੀ ॥
kaan ke pramaan baan taan taan tor hee |

They shoot arrows by pulling them up to their ears

ਸੁ ਜੂਝਿ ਜੂਝ ਕੈ ਪਰੈ ਨ ਨੈਕੁ ਮੁਖ ਮੋਰ ਹੀ ॥੩੭੮॥
su joojh joojh kai parai na naik mukh mor hee |378|

The pulled their bows upto their ears and discharged their arrows and without moving backward even slightly they fought and fell.378.

ਬਾਨ ਪਾਨਿ ਲੈ ਸਬੈ ਸਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਚਲੇ ॥
baan paan lai sabai sakrudh sooramaa chale |

All the warriors with arrows in their hands have gone away in anger.

ਬੀਨਿ ਬੀਨਿ ਜੇ ਲਏ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ਬੀਰਹਾ ਭਲੇ ॥
been been je le prabeen beerahaa bhale |

Taking angrily there bows an arrows in there hand they moved and the worriers were killed silectivly

ਸੰਕ ਛੋਰ ਕੈ ਭਿਰੈ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਘਾਇ ਡਾਰ ਹੀ ॥
sank chhor kai bhirai nisank ghaae ddaar hee |

Sangs fight unhesitatingly and lash out at each other.

ਸੁ ਅੰਗ ਭੰਗ ਹੁਇ ਗਿਰੈਂ ਨ ਜੰਗ ਤੇ ਪਧਾਰ ਹੀ ॥੩੭੯॥
su ang bhang hue girain na jang te padhaar hee |379|

They were all fearlessly inflicting wounds and their limbs are falling down, but still they did not run away from the battlefield.379.

ਨਿਸਪਾਲਿਕ ਛੰਦ ॥
nisapaalik chhand |

NISHPAALAK STANZA

ਆਨਿ ਸਰ ਤਾਨਿ ਅਰੁ ਮਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਰ ਹੀਂ ॥
aan sar taan ar maan kar chhor heen |

By drawing the bow and shooting the arrows with satisfaction (tying the target).

ਐਨ ਸਰ ਚੈਨ ਕਰਿ ਤੈਨ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰ ਹੀਂ ॥
aain sar chain kar tain kar jor heen |

By pulling their bows, the warriors are proudly discharging their arrows and are uniting arrows with arrows discharging swiftly the later arrows

ਘਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਵ ਕਰਿ ਆਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਲਾਗ ਹੀਂ ॥
ghaav kar chaav kar aan kar laag heen |

Then (the archer) draws more (arrows) with his hand. (The arrow) strikes and injures (the warrior).

ਛਾਡਿ ਰਣਿ ਖਾਇ ਬ੍ਰਿਣ ਬੀਰ ਬਰ ਭਾਗ ਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੦॥
chhaadd ran khaae brin beer bar bhaag heen |380|

They are striking blows with zeal and the great fighters also having been wounded are running away.380.

ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰਿ ਬੋਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਧਿ ਅਰਿ ਧਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
krodh kar bodh har sodh ar dhaavaheen |

(Many) being angry, forgetting knowledge, wander about to find the enemy.

ਜੋਧ ਬਰ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਧਰਿ ਬਿਰੋਧਿ ਸਰ ਲਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
jodh bar krodh dhar birodh sar laavaheen |

The Lord (Kalki) is moving forward, killing the enemies angrily and consciously and is striking his arrows on the opponents

ਅੰਗ ਭਟ ਭੰਗ ਹੁਐ ਜੰਗ ਤਿਹ ਡਿਗਹੀਂ ॥
ang bhatt bhang huaai jang tih ddigaheen |

The warrior whose limb is broken falls on the battlefield.

ਸੰਗਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਣ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਤਨ ਭਿਗਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੧॥
sang bin rang ran sron tan bhigaheen |381|

The warriors with chopped limbs are falling down in the battlefield and all their blood is oozing out from their bodies.381.

ਧਾਇ ਭਟਿ ਆਇ ਰਿਸ ਖਾਇ ਅਸਿ ਝਾਰਹੀਂ ॥
dhaae bhatt aae ris khaae as jhaaraheen |

The warriors come running and draw their swords in anger.

ਸੋਰ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਸਰ ਤੋਰ ਅਰਿ ਡਾਰਹੀਂ ॥
sor kar jor sar tor ar ddaaraheen |

The warriors come in rage, strike the swords and are killing the enemies while shouting

ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤਜਿ ਪੈ ਨ ਭਜਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਰਨ ਸੋਭਹੀਂ ॥
praan taj pai na bhaj bhoom ran sobhaheen |

Pranas give up, but do not run away and adorn themselves in the battlefield.

ਪੇਖਿ ਛਬਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਦੁਤਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਭਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੨॥
pekh chhab dekh dut naar sur lobhaheen |382|

They breath their last, but do not abandon the battlefield and seem splendid in this way, the women of gods are getting allured on seeing their beauty.382.

ਭਾਜ ਨਹ ਸਾਜਿ ਅਸਿ ਗਾਜਿ ਭਟ ਆਵਹੀਂ ॥
bhaaj nah saaj as gaaj bhatt aavaheen |

Warriors come with their swords drawn and do not run away.

ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰਿ ਬੋਧ ਹਰਿ ਜੋਧ ਅਸਿ ਲਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
krodh kar bodh har jodh as laavaheen |

The warriors are coming being bedecked with their swords and on this side the Lord in his fury is recognizing the real fighters

ਜੂਝਿ ਰਣਿ ਝਾਲਿ ਬ੍ਰਿਣ ਦੇਵ ਪੁਰਿ ਪਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
joojh ran jhaal brin dev pur paavaheen |

After eating wounds and fighting in the battlefield, they find (abode) in Dev-puri (heaven).

ਜੀਤਿ ਕੈ ਗੀਤ ਕੁਲਿ ਰੀਤ ਜਿਮ ਗਾਵਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੩॥
jeet kai geet kul reet jim gaavaheen |383|

After fighting and getting wounded, the warriors leave for abode of gods and there they are welcomed with songs of victory.383.

ਨਰਾਜ ਛੰਦ ॥
naraaj chhand |

NARAAJ STANZA

ਸਾਜ ਸਾਜ ਕੈ ਸਬੈ ਸਲਾਜ ਬੀਰ ਧਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
saaj saaj kai sabai salaaj beer dhaavaheen |

All the warriors are armed and fleeing (to the battlefield).

ਜੂਝਿ ਜੂਝ ਕੇ ਮਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਲੋਕ ਲੋਕ ਪਾਵਹੀਂ ॥
joojh joojh ke marai pralok lok paavaheen |

All the warriors getting bedecked are falling upon the enemy and after fighting in the war, they reach heaven

ਧਾਇ ਧਾਇ ਕੈ ਹਠੀ ਅਘਾਇ ਘਾਇ ਝੇਲਹੀਂ ॥
dhaae dhaae kai hatthee aghaae ghaae jhelaheen |

Clumsy warriors run away and heal their wounds.

ਪਛੇਲ ਪਾਵ ਨ ਚਲੈ ਅਰੈਲ ਬੀਰ ਠੇਲਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੪॥
pachhel paav na chalai arail beer tthelaheen |384|

The persistent warriors run forward and endure the anguish of the wounds, their feet do not fall back and they are driving other warriors ahead.384.

ਕੋਪ ਓਪ ਦੈ ਸਬੈ ਸਰੋਖ ਸੂਰ ਧਾਇ ਹੈਂ ॥
kop op dai sabai sarokh soor dhaae hain |

Enraged, all the warriors run away full of rage.

ਧਾਇ ਧਾਇ ਜੂਝ ਹੈਂ ਅਰੂਝਿ ਜੂਝਿ ਜਾਇ ਹੈਂ ॥
dhaae dhaae joojh hain aroojh joojh jaae hain |

All the warriors are moving forward in anger and are embracing martyrdom in the battlefield

ਸੁ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਮੇਲ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰ ਆਨਿ ਡਾਰਹੀਂ ॥
su asatr sasatr mel kai prahaar aan ddaaraheen |

They attack by gathering weapons and armor.

ਨ ਭਾਜਿ ਗਾਜ ਹੈ ਹਠੀ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਘਾਇ ਮਾਰਹੀਂ ॥੩੮੫॥
n bhaaj gaaj hai hatthee nisank ghaae maaraheen |385|

Colliding their arms and weapons, they are striking blows and the stable warriors, who do not think of running away, are striking blows, persistently thundering fearlessly.385.

ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਢੋਲ ਬਾਸੁਰੀ ਸਨਾਇ ਝਾਝ ਬਾਜ ਹੈਂ ॥
mridang dtol baasuree sanaae jhaajh baaj hain |

Mridanga, dhol, flute, tambourine and cymbals (etc.) are played.

ਸੁ ਪਾਵ ਰੋਪ ਕੈ ਬਲੀ ਸਕੋਪ ਆਨਿ ਗਾਜ ਹੈਂ ॥
su paav rop kai balee sakop aan gaaj hain |

The small and big drums, flutes, anklets etc. are creating sounds and the warriors firmly putting their feet on the earth are thundering angrily

ਸੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਬੂਝ ਕੈ ਹਠੀ ਅਰੂਝਿ ਆਨਿ ਜੂਝ ਹੈਂ ॥
su boojh boojh kai hatthee aroojh aan joojh hain |

Stout warriors engage in war thoughtfully and fight.

ਸੁ ਅੰਧ ਧੁੰਧ ਹੁਇ ਰਹੀ ਦਿਸਾ ਵਿਸਾ ਨ ਸੂਝ ਹੈਂ ॥੩੮੬॥
su andh dhundh hue rahee disaa visaa na soojh hain |386|

The persistent warriors recognizing others are entangled with them and there is such a run in the battlefield that the directions are not being comprehended.386.

ਸਰੋਖ ਕਾਲਿ ਕੇਸਰੀ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਸੈਣ ਧਾਇ ਹੈਂ ॥
sarokh kaal kesaree sanghaar sain dhaae hain |

The Lion of the Goddess (or Nihkalunk form of the lion) roams around attacking the (enemy) army.

ਅਗਸਤ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਕੀ ਜਿਮੰ ਪਚਾਇ ਸੈਨ ਜਾਇ ਹੈਂ ॥
agasat sindh kee jiman pachaae sain jaae hain |

The lion of the goddess Kali, in order to kill the army, is running angrily in this way and wants to destroy the army in this way just as the sage August had completely drunk the ocean

ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਬਾਹਣੀਸ ਕੋ ਅਨੀਸ ਤੀਰ ਗਾਜ ਹੈਂ ॥
sanghaar baahanees ko anees teer gaaj hain |

Senapati ('Bahnis') are killed and close to the king.

ਬਿਸੇਖ ਜੁਧ ਮੰਡ ਹੈ ਅਸੇਖ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਾਜ ਹੈਂ ॥੩੮੭॥
bisekh judh mandd hai asekh sasatr baaj hain |387|

After killing the forces, the warriors are thundering and in the dreadful fight, their weapons are colliding.387.

SWAYYA STANZA

ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਬਾਜ ਕਰੀ ਰਥ ਕੋਟਿਕ ਕੂਟੇ ॥
aavat hee nrip ke dal te har baaj karee rath kottik kootte |

Kalki ('Hari') has killed many chariots, horses and elephants of the king's entourage on his arrival.

ਸਾਜ ਗਿਰੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਰਾਜ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਰ ਬਾਜ ਫਿਰੈ ਹਿਹਨਾਵਤ ਛੂਟੇ ॥
saaj gire nrip raaj kahoon bar baaj firai hihanaavat chhootte |

On the arrival of the army of the king, the Lord (Kalki) chopped many elephants, horses and chariots, the horses bedecked by the king were roaming in the battlefield,
