ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਮ ਮਾਲਾ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਤੀਯ ਧਿਆਇ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨॥

ਬਿਸਿਖ ਬਾਣ ਸਰ ਧਨੁਜ ਭਨ ਕਵਚਾਤਕ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ॥

bisikh baan sar dhanuj bhan kavachaatak ke naam |

Bisikh (arrow) Baan, Sir, Dhanuj (born from the bow, arrow) are called by the names of 'Kavachantak' (armour-piercing, arrow).

ਸਦਾ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਜੈ ਕਰੋ ਸਕਲ ਕਰੋ ਮਮ ਕਾਮ ॥੭੫॥

sadaa hamaaree jai karo sakal karo mam kaam |75|

O Significant Baan (arrow), the son of the bow and destroyer of the armour! even bring victory to us and fulfil our tasks.75.

ਧਨੁਖ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

dhanukh sabad prithamai uchar agraj bahur uchaar |

First pronounce the word 'Dhanukh' and then say the word 'Agraja' (forward arrow from the bow).

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ॥੭੬॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai leejahu chatur sudhaar |76|

Uttering first the word “Dhanush” and then the word “Agraj” all the names of Ban can be comprehended correctly.76.

ਪਨਚ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

panach sabad prithamai uchar agraj bahur uchaar |

First pronounce the word 'Panch' (bow) and then say the word 'Agraja'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲੈ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੭੭॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai nikasat chalai apaar |77|

Uttering first the word “Panach” and then the word “Agraj” all he names of Baan continue to be evolved.77.

ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਨਿਖੰਗ ਕੇ ਬਾਸੀ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

naam uchaar nikhang ke baasee bahur bakhaan |

(First) pronounce the name 'Nikhang' (Bhattha) and then pronounce the word 'Basi' (Resident).

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੭੮॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai leejahu hridai pachhaan |78|

Uttering the names of Nikhang and then describing “Vanshi” all the names of Baan can be known.78.

ਸਭ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਯਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਹਾ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

sabh mrigayan ke naam keh haa pad bahur uchaar |

Say the names of all the 'mrigyans' (animals) and then pronounce the word 'ha'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਭੈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਣੁ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੭੯॥

naam sabhai sree baan ke jaan hridai niradhaar |79|

After naming all the deer and then uttering the word “Ha”, all the names of Baan are comprehended in mind.79.

ਸਕਲ ਕਵਚ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਭੇਦਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

sakal kavach ke naam keh bhedak bahur bakhaan |

Take all the names of Kavach' and then say the word 'Bhedak' (piercing).

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥੮੦॥

naam sakal sree baan ke nikasat chalai pramaan |80|

After uttering all the names of “Kavach” (armour) and then adding the word “Bhedak” with them all the names of Baan continue to be evolved.80.

ਨਾਮ ਚਰਮ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਕਹਿ ਛੇਦਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

naam charam ke pritham keh chhedak bahur bakhaan |

First say the names of 'charm' (shield) and then say the word 'chedak' (piercer).

ਨਾਮ ਸਬੈ ਹੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੮੧॥

naam sabai hee baan ke chatur chit mai jaan |81|

After uttering the names of “Charam” and tehn adding the word “Chhedak”, the wise people come to know all the names of Baan in their mind.81.

ਸੁਭਟ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਾ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਸੁਨਾਇ ॥

subhatt naam uchaar kai haa pad bahur sunaae |

First pronounce the name 'Subhat' (Surma) and then recite the word 'Ha'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਬੈ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੮੨॥

naam sileemukh ke sabai leejahu chatur banaae |82|

After uttering the name “Subhat” and then adding the word “Ha”, the wise people tell all the names of Baan.82.

ਸਭ ਪਛਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਪਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

sabh pachhan ke naam keh par pad bahur bakhaan |

Say the names of all the birds and then say the word 'Par' (Vari).

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਬੈ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਚਤੁਰਿ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੮੩॥

naam sileemukh ke sabai chit mai chatur pachhaan |83|

Uttering the names of all the birds and then adding the word “Par” with them, the wise people recognize the names of Baan.83.

ਪੰਛੀ ਪਰੀ ਸਪੰਖ ਧਰ ਪਛਿ ਅੰਤਕ ਪੁਨਿ ਭਾਖੁ ॥

panchhee paree sapankh dhar pachh antak pun bhaakh |

Bird, Pari (winged) Spankha (with wings) Pachidhar (bearer of wings) (saying) then say the word 'antak' (concluding).

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਜਾਨ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਮੈ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੮੪॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai jaan hridai mai raakh |84|

After adding the word “Antak” with the words “Pakshi, Paresh and Pankhdhar” all the names of Baan are recognized in mind.84.

ਸਭ ਅਕਾਸ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਚਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

sabh akaas ke naam keh char pad bahur bakhaan |

Say all the names of the sky and then say 'char' (dispersive) pada.

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਲੀਜੈ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੮੫॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai leejai chatur pachhaan |85|

Uttering all names of “Aakaash” and then saying the word “Char”, the wise people recognize all the names of Baan.85.

ਖੰ ਅਕਾਸ ਨਭਿ ਗਗਨ ਕਹਿ ਚਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰੁ ॥

khan akaas nabh gagan keh char pad bahur uchaar |

Say kh, akash, nabha and gagan (words) and then pronounce the word 'char' (moving).

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ॥੮੬॥

naam sakal sree baan ke leejahu chatur su dhaar |86|

After saying the words “Khe, Aakaash, Nabh and Gagan” and then uttering the word “Char”, the wise people may comprehend correctly all the names of Baan.86.

ਅਸਮਾਨ ਸਿਪਿਹਰ ਸੁ ਦਿਵ ਗਰਦੂੰ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨੁ ॥

asamaan sipihar su div garadoon bahur bakhaan |

Say sky, sipihar, div and then gardun (rotating sky) (word).

ਪੁਨਿ ਚਰ ਸਬਦ ਬਖਾਨੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ॥੮੭॥

pun char sabad bakhaaneeai naam baan ke jaan |87|

After speaking the words “Aasmaan, Sipihir, div, Gardoon etc.” and then saying word “Char”, the names of Baan are known.87.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਧਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

pritham naam keh chandr ke dhar pad bahuro dehu |

First say the names of the moons, then add the word 'dhar' (retainer).

ਪੁਨਿ ਚਰ ਸਬਦ ਉਚਾਰੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਲਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੮੮॥

pun char sabad uchaareeai naam baan lakh lehu |88|

Uttering the name “Chandra” in the beginning and then adding the word “Deh” and afterwards speaking the word “Char”, the names of Baan are formed.88.

ਗੋ ਮਰੀਚ ਕਿਰਨੰ ਛਟਾ ਧਰ ਧਰ ਕਹਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥

go mareech kiranan chhattaa dhar dhar keh man maeh |

Go, Marich, Kiran, Chhatadhar (the moon that holds the light) (Then) say the word 'Dhar' in your mind.

ਚਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਹੁਇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੮੯॥

char pad bahur bakhaaneeai naam baan hue jaeh |89|

After adding the word “Char” at the end of the words “Go, Marich, Kiran, Chhataadhar etc.”, the names of Baan are formed.89.

ਰਜਨੀਸਰ ਦਿਨਹਾ ਉਚਰਿ ਧਰ ਧਰ ਪਦ ਕਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ॥

rajaneesar dinahaa uchar dhar dhar pad keh ant |

Say (first) 'Rajnisar' (Moon) 'Dinha' (Destroyer of the Day) (word), then (twice) say the word 'Dhar Dhar'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਰਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੯੦॥

naam sakal sree baan ke nikarat jaeh anant |90|

After uttering the words “Rajnishwar and Dinha” and adding the word “Dhurandhar” at the end, the names of Baan are evolved.90.

ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਨਿਸਾ ਦਿਨ ਘਾਤਨੀ ਚਰ ਧਰ ਸਬਦ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

raatr nisaa din ghaatanee char dhar sabad bakhaan |

After saying Ratri, Nisa, Din Ghatni, then say 'Char' and 'Dhar' Pad.

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਬਖਿਆਨ ॥੯੧॥

naam sakal sree baan ke kareeahu chatur bakhiaan |91|

Saying the word “Chardhar” alongwith the words “Ratri, Nisha and Din-ghatini”, all the names of Baan are evolved.91.

ਸਸਿ ਉਪਰਾਜਨਿ ਰਵਿ ਹਰਨਿ ਚਰ ਕੋ ਲੈ ਕੈ ਨਾਮ ॥

sas uparaajan rav haran char ko lai kai naam |

Sasi Uparjani' (creator of the moon) and 'ravi harni' (destroyer of the sun) (say these words first, then) use the words 'char'.

ਧਰ ਕਹਿ ਨਾਮ ਏ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਪੋ ਆਠਹੂੰ ਜਾਮ ॥੯੨॥

dhar keh naam e baan ke japo aatthahoon jaam |92|

After uttering the name “Raatri”, then speaking “Char” and afterwards saying the word “Dhar”, all the names of Baan can be remembered.92.

ਰੈਨ ਅੰਧਪਤਿ ਮਹਾ ਨਿਸਿ ਨਿਸਿ ਈਸਰ ਨਿਸਿ ਰਾਜ ॥

rain andhapat mahaa nis nis eesar nis raaj |

Ran Andhapati', 'Maha Nispati', 'Nisi-Isar', 'Nisi Raj' and 'Chandra',

ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਬਾਨ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਧਰ੍ਯੋ ਚਿਤ੍ਰਨ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਕਾਜ ॥੯੩॥

chandr baan chandreh dharayo chitran ke badh kaaj |93|

The words “raatri, Andhakaarpati, Nispati” etc. are known by the name Chandra-Baan, which in the form of “Chandrama” (moon), kill the forms steeped in darkness.93.

ਸਭ ਕਿਰਨਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਧਰ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

sabh kiranan ke naam keh dhar pad bahur uchaar |

Say all the names of Kiran and then chant the word 'dhar'.

ਪੁਨਿ ਧਰ ਕਹੁ ਸਭ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੯੪॥

pun dhar kahu sabh baan ke jaan naam niradhaar |94|

Saying the names of all the rays, then uttering the word “Dhar” and afterwards repeating the word “Dhar” again, all the names of Baan are known.94.

ਸਭ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਤ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

sabh samundar ke naam lai ant sabad sut dehu |

Take the names of all the oceans and then say the word 'Sut' at the end.

ਪੁਨਿ ਧਰ ਸਬਦ ਉਚਾਰੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਲਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੯੫॥

pun dhar sabad uchaareeai naam baan lakh lehu |95|

Saying all the names of “Samudra” (Ocean), adding the word “Shatdeh” at the end and afterwards uttering the word “Dhar”, all the names of Baan come forward.95.

ਜਲਪਤਿ ਜਲਾਲੈ ਨਦੀ ਪਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਸੁਤ ਪਦ ਕੋ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

jalapat jalaalai nadee pat keh sut pad ko dehu |

(First) say 'Jalpati', 'Jlalai' (a place of water) 'Nadi Pati' (word) and then add the word 'Sut'.

ਪੁਨਿ ਧਰ ਸਬਦ ਬਖਾਨੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਲਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੯੬॥

pun dhar sabad bakhaaneeai naam baan lakh lehu |96|

After saying the word “Samudra” (Ocean), adding the word “Shatdeh” and afterwards saying the word “Dhar”, all the names of Baan can be comprehended.96.
