ਛਿਦੇ ਚਰਮੰ ॥
chhide charaman |

The weapons, coming into contact with armours, are piercing the bodies

ਤੁਟੈ ਖਗੰ ॥
tuttai khagan |

Khargs are broken

ਉਠੈ ਅੰਗੰ ॥੫੦੭॥
autthai angan |507|

The spars are breaking and the sparks of fire are coming out from them.507.

ਨਚੇ ਤਾਜੀ ॥
nache taajee |

horses dance,

ਗਜੇ ਗਾਜੀ ॥
gaje gaajee |

The horses are dancing and the warriors are thundering

ਡਿਗੇ ਵੀਰੰ ॥
ddige veeran |

Heroes are falling,

ਤਜੇ ਤੀਰੰ ॥੫੦੮॥
taje teeran |508|

They are falling while discharging the arrows.508.

ਝੁਮੇਾਂ ਸੂਰੰ ॥
jhumeaan sooran |

The warriors swing,

ਘੁਮੀ ਹੂਰੰ ॥
ghumee hooran |

hooves go around,

ਕਛੇ ਬਾਣੰ ॥
kachhe baanan |

The warriors have woven the fabric

ਮਤੇ ਮਾਣੰ ॥੫੦੯॥
mate maanan |509|

Seeing the heavenly damsels moving, the warriors are swinging and, being intoxicated, are discharging arrows.509.

ਪਾਧਰੀ ਛੰਦ ॥
paadharee chhand |

PAADHARI STANZA

ਤਹ ਭਯੋ ਘੋਰ ਆਹਵ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
tah bhayo ghor aahav apaar |

There has been a great and terrible war.

ਰਣ ਭੂੰਮਿ ਝੂਮਿ ਜੁਝੇ ਜੁਝਾਰ ॥
ran bhoonm jhoom jujhe jujhaar |

In this way, the war ensued and many warriors fell in the field

ਇਤ ਰਾਮ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਅਤਕਾਇ ਉਤ ॥
eit raam bhraat atakaae ut |

From here Lachman and from there Atakai (warriors of the name)

ਰਿਸ ਜੁਝ ਉਝਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਪੁਤ ॥੫੧੦॥
ris jujh ujhare raaj put |510|

On one side there is Lakshman, brother of Ram and on the other there is the demon Atkaaye and both these princes are fighting with each other.510.

ਤਬ ਰਾਮ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ ਅਤਿ ਕੀਨ ਰੋਸ ॥
tab raam bhraat at keen ros |

Then Lachman became very angry

ਜਿਮ ਪਰਤ ਅਗਨ ਘ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਤ ਜੋਸ ॥
jim parat agan ghrit karat jos |

Then Lakshman became highly infuriated and increased it with zeal like the fire blazing fiercely when the ghee is poured over it

ਗਹਿ ਬਾਣ ਪਾਣ ਤਜੇ ਅਨੰਤ ॥
geh baan paan taje anant |

(He) held the bow in hand and (thus released) endless arrows.

ਜਿਮ ਜੇਠ ਸੂਰ ਕਿਰਣੈ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥੫੧੧॥
jim jetth soor kiranai durant |511|

He discharged the scorching arrows like the terrible sunrays of eh month of Jyestha.511.

ਬ੍ਰਣ ਆਪ ਮਧ ਬਾਹਤ ਅਨੇਕ ॥
bran aap madh baahat anek |

(Warriors) inflict many wounds on each other.

ਬਰਣੈ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਏਕ ਏਕ ॥
baranai na jaeh keh ek ek |

Getting himself wounded he discharged so many arrows which are indescribable

ਉਝਰੇ ਵੀਰ ਜੁਝਣ ਜੁਝਾਰ ॥
aujhare veer jujhan jujhaar |

(Many) warriors have been martyred due to war.

ਜੈ ਸਬਦ ਦੇਵ ਭਾਖਤ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥੫੧੨॥
jai sabad dev bhaakhat pukaar |512|

These brave fighters are absorbed in fight and on the other hand, the gods are raising the sound of victory.512.
