ਸਕਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਸਬਦ ਆਦਿ ਕਹਿ ਅਰਦਨ ਪਦ ਕਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ॥

sakal mrig sabad aad keh aradan pad keh ant |

First by saying the names of all the animals, (then) at the end say the word 'Ardan'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲੈ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੨੨੯॥

sakal naam sree baan ke nikasat chalai anant |229|

Saying all the names of related to “Mrig” (deer) in the beginning and uttering the word “Ardan” at the end, all the names of Baan continue to be evolved.229.

ਕੁੰਭਕਰਨ ਪਦ ਆਦਿ ਕਹਿ ਅਰਦਨ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

kunbhakaran pad aad keh aradan bahur bakhaan |

Say the word 'Kumbhakaran' first, then say the word 'Ardan'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜਾਨ ॥੨੩੦॥

sakal naam sree baan ke chatur chit mai jaan |230|

The wise men comprehend all the names of Baan by uttering the word “Kumbhkaran” in the beginning and then saying the word “Ardan”.230.

ਰਿਪੁ ਸਮੁਦ੍ਰ ਪਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਕਹਿ ਕਾਨ ਅਰਿ ਭਾਖੋ ਅੰਤਿ ॥

rip samudr pit pritham keh kaan ar bhaakho ant |

First saying 'Ripu Samudra Pit', (then) say the words 'Kan' and 'Ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੨੩੧॥

sakal naam sree baan ke nikasat chaleh anant |231|

Uttering the word “Rip-Samudra” in the beginning and then saying the word “Kaanari” at the end, innumerable names of Baan get evolved.231.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਨਾਮ ਦਸਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਬੰਧੁ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

pritham naam dasagreev ke lai bandh ar pad dehu |

First take the name of 'Dasgriva' (Ravana), then add the term 'Bandhu Ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੩੨॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |232|

The wise people recognize all the names of Baan in their mind by uttering the names of “Dasgareev Ravana in the beginning and then adding words “Vadh and Ari”.232.

ਖੋਲ ਖੜਗ ਖਤ੍ਰਿਅੰਤ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਦੁ ਕਹੁ ਅੰਤਿ ॥

khol kharrag khatriant kar kai har pad kahu ant |

First by saying the word 'Khol' (Kavach) or 'Kharag', then at the end say the word 'Khatriyant' or 'Hari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲੈ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੨੩੩॥

sakal naam sree baan ke nikasat chalai anant |233|

Ending with the words “Khol, Khadag, Kshatriyantkaarak and Kehri”, all the names of Baan get evolved.233.

ਕਵਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਟਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਭਾਖਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਅਰਿ ਭਾਖੁ ॥

kavach kripaan kattaareeeh bhaakh ant ar bhaakh |

Say the word 'Ari' at the end by saying Kavach, Kirpan or Katari.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੨੩੪॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chit meh raakh |234|

Saying the words “Kavach, Kripaan and Kataari” and adding the world “Ari” at the end, the names of Baan are kept in the mind.234.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਭ ਉਚਰਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

pritham sasatr sabh uchar kai ant sabad ar dehu |

First pronounce the names of all the weapons and add the word 'Ari' at the end.

ਸਰਬ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੩੫॥

sarab naam sree baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |235|

Uttering firstly the names of all the weapons and adding the word “Ari” at the end, all the names of Baan are recognized in the mind.235.

ਸੂਲ ਸੈਹਥੀ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਹਾ ਸਿਪ੍ਰਾਦਰ ਕਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ॥

sool saihathee satru haa sipraadar keh ant |

(First) by saying Sula, Saihthi, Satru, then say 'ha' pada or 'sipradar' (shield breaker).

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਅਨੰਤ ॥੨੩੬॥

sakal naam sree baan ke nikasat chaleh anant |236|

Saying the worlds “Shool, Saihathi, Shatruha and Sipraadar” at the end, all the names of Baan get evolved.236.

ਸਮਰ ਸੰਦੇਸੋ ਸਤ੍ਰੁਹਾ ਸਤ੍ਰਾਤਕ ਜਿਹ ਨਾਮ ॥

samar sandeso satruhaa satraatak jih naam |

Samar sandeso (the bearer of war) Satruha (the slayer of the enemy) Stratantaka (the destroyer of the enemy) who has (these) three names.

ਸਭੈ ਬਰਨ ਰਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਸੁਖ ਧਾਮ ॥੨੩੭॥

sabhai baran rachhaa karan santan ke sukh dhaam |237|

O Baan! whose names are Samar, Sandesh, Shatruha and Shatruha and Shatrantak, you are the protector of all the Varnas (castes) and giver of comfort to the saints.237.

ਬਰ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

bar pad pritham bakhaan kai ar pad bahur bakhaan |

Say the word 'bar' (chest) first, then say the word 'ari'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਤ੍ਰੁਹਾ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਨ ॥੨੩੮॥

naam satruhaa ke sabhai chatur chit meh jaan |238|

Saying the word “Var” in the beginning and then uttering the word “Ari”, the names of Baan the destroyer of enemies, continue to be evolved.238.

ਦਖਣ ਆਦਿ ਉਚਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਸਖਣ ਅੰਤਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

dakhan aad uchaar kai sakhan ant uchaar |

Pronounce the word 'Sakhan' by saying 'Dakhan' first.

ਦਖਣ ਕੌ ਭਖਣ ਦੀਓ ਸਰ ਸੌ ਰਾਮ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥੨੩੯॥

dakhan kau bhakhan deeo sar sau raam kumaar |239|

Uttering firstly the word “Dakshin” and then saying the word “Bhakshan” at the end, the meaning of Baan is comprehended, because Ram had given the food of Baan to Ravana, the resident of a Southern country and had killed him 239

ਰਿਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਮੰਡਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

risaraa pritham bakhaan kai manddar bahur bakhaan |

Say 'Risra' pada first and then say 'Mandri' pada.

ਰਿਸਰਾ ਕੋ ਬਿਸਿਰਾ ਕੀਯੋ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਰਘੁਪਤਿ ਕੇ ਬਾਨ ॥੨੪੦॥

risaraa ko bisiraa keeyo sree raghupat ke baan |240|

Saying “Risra” in the beginning, then the word “Mundari” is uttered and then the Baan of Raghupati (Ram) are comprehended.240.

ਬਲੀ ਈਸ ਦਸ ਸੀਸ ਕੇ ਜਾਹਿ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਬੰਧੁ ॥

balee ees das sees ke jaeh kahaavat bandh |

The ten-headed (Ravana) whose bond (Kumbhakarna) and lord (Shiva) are called mighty,

ਏਕ ਬਾਨ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਕੇ ਕੀਯੋ ਕਬੰਧ ਕਬੰਧ ॥੨੪੧॥

ek baan raghunaath ke keeyo kabandh kabandh |241|

Raghunath (Ram) chopped into bits with his single Baan and also made the relatives of the mighty Dasgreev Ravana as headless Trunks.241.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਭਾਖਿ ਸੁਗ੍ਰੀਵ ਪਦ ਬੰਧੁਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

pritham bhaakh sugreev pad bandhur bahur bakhaan |

First say the word 'Sugriva', then say 'Bandhuri' (Bandhuari).

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਨੀਅਹੁ ਬੁਧਿ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੨੪੨॥

sakal naam sree baan ke jaaneeahu budh nidhaan |242|

Saying the word Sugriv in the beginning, then adding the word “Bandh”, the wise people know all the names of Baan.242.

ਅੰਗਦ ਪਿਤੁ ਕਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਪਦ ਅੰਤ ਸਬਦ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

angad pit keh pritham pad ant sabad ar dehu |

By first saying 'angad pitu', add the word 'ari' at the end.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੪੩॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |243|

Saying “Angad-Pitr” (Bali) in the beginning and then adding the word “Ari”, all the names of Baan are comprehended .243.

ਹਨੂਮਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਈਸ ਅਨੁਜ ਅਰਿ ਭਾਖੁ ॥

hanoomaan ke naam lai ees anuj ar bhaakh |

Taking Hanuman's name, (then) say 'Eis Anuj Ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਿਤ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖੁ ॥੨੪੪॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chit meh raakh |244|

Uttering the names of Hanuman and adding the words “Ish, Anuj and Ari”, all the names of Baan are understood in the mind.244.

ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਸਬਦ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

sasatr sabad prithamai uchar ant sabad ar dehu |

Say the word 'Sastra' first, then say the word 'Ari' at the end.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ਅਨੇਕਨਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੪੫॥

sakal naam sree baan ke jaan anekan lehu |245|

Uttering firstly the word “Shastar” and then adding the word “Ari” at the end, all the names of Baan are known.245.

ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਅਰਿ ਸਬਦ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

asatr sabad prithamai uchar ant ar sabad bakhaan |

Pronounce the word 'Astra' first and then say the word 'Ari' at the end.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੪੬॥

sakal naam sree baan ke leejahu chatur pachhaan |246|

The word “Astar” is said in the beginning and the word “Ari” at the end, in this way all the names of Baan are comprehended.246.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਚਰਮ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਸਭ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਕਹਿ ਅੰਤ ॥

pritham charam ke naam lai sabh ar pad keh ant |

First take all the names of 'charm' (shield) and then add the word 'ari' at the end.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸਤ੍ਰਾਤ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਸਤ ਚਲਹਿ ਬਿਅੰਤ ॥੨੪੭॥

sakal naam satraat ke nikasat chaleh biant |247|

Saying all the names of “Charam” and adding the word “Ari” at the end, innumerable names of the enemy-destroying Baan continue to be evolved.247.

ਤਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਭ ਉਚਰਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

tan traan ke naam sabh uchar ant ar dehu |

(First) pronounce all the names of 'tanu tran' (protector of the body, armor), add the word 'ari' at the end.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਕੀਜੈ ਨੇਹੁ ॥੨੪੮॥

sakal naam sree baan ke taa siau keejai nehu |248|

Adding the word “Ari” at the end of tan-tran (armour), all the names of Baan are formed, for which we should exhibit affection.248.

ਸਕਲ ਧਨੁਖ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਅਰਦਨ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

sakal dhanukh ke naam keh aradan bahur uchaar |

(First) say all the names of 'Dhanukh' and then pronounce the word 'Ardan'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੨੪੯॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chatur niradhaar |249|

Saying all the names of Dhanush (bow), and then uttering the word “Ardan”, all the names of Baan are known.249.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਪਨਚ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਕ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

pritham naam lai panach ke antak bahur bakhaan |

First take all the names of 'Panch' (Chilla), then pronounce the word 'Antak'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਕਰੀਅਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਬਖਿਆਨ ॥੨੫੦॥

sakal naam sree baan ke kareeahu chatur bakhiaan |250|

Saying the names of Panach (Pratyacha) and then adding the word “Antak”, all the names of Baan are described.250.

ਸਰ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

sar pad pritham bakhaan kai ar pad bahur bakhaan |

Say the word 'Sir' first, then pronounce the word 'Ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜਾਨ ॥੨੫੧॥

sakal naam sree baan ke chatur chit mai jaan |251|

Saying the word “Shar” in the beginning and then adding the word “Ari”, all the names of Baan are known mind.251.

ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਹਾ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

mrig pad pritham bakhaan kai haa pad bahur bakhaan |

First pronounce the word 'mrig' (grazed animal) and then say the word 'ha'.

ਮ੍ਰਿਗਹਾ ਪਦ ਯਹ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੫੨॥

mrigahaa pad yah hot hai leejahu chatur pachhaan |252|

Saying the word “Mrig” in the beginning and then adding the word “Ha”, the word “Mrig-ha is formed, which connotes the Baan, which is the destroyer of the deer, which is recognized in the mind by the wise persons.252.
