ਪਰੀ ਕੁਟ ਕੁਟੰ ਲਗੇ ਧੀਰ ਧਕੇ ॥
paree kutt kuttan lage dheer dhake |

There is a great rush of blows and the men of endurance are experiencing shocks.

ਚਵੀ ਚਾਵਡੀਯੰ ਨਫੀਰੰ ਰਣੰਕੰ ॥
chavee chaavaddeeyan nafeeran ranankan |

The vultures shriek and the clarionets are being played.

ਮਨੋ ਬਿਚਰੰ ਬਾਘ ਬੰਕੇ ਬਬਕੰ ॥੮॥੮੫॥
mano bicharan baagh banke babakan |8|85|

It appears that terrible tigers are roaring and roaming.8.85.

ਉਤੇ ਕੋਪੀਯੰ ਸ੍ਰੋਣਬਿੰਦੰ ਸੁ ਬੀਰੰ ॥
aute kopeeyan sronabindan su beeran |

On the other side the demon warrior Rkat Beej was infuriated.

ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ਭਲੀ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਆਨਿ ਤੀਰੰ ॥
prahaare bhalee bhaat so aan teeran |

He shot his arrows very dexterously.

ਉਤੇ ਦਉਰ ਦੇਵੀ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਖਗ ਪਾਤੰ ॥
aute daur devee kariyo khag paatan |

The goddess then speedily struck her sword.

ਗਰਿਯੋ ਮੂਰਛਾ ਹੁਐ ਭਯੋ ਜਾਨੁ ਘਾਤੰ ॥੯॥੮੬॥
gariyo moorachhaa huaai bhayo jaan ghaatan |9|86|

Which cused the demon to fall senseless, it seemed that he has passed away.9.86.

ਛੁਟੀ ਮੂਰਛਨਾਯੰ ਮਹਾਬੀਰ ਗਜਿਯੋ ॥
chhuttee moorachhanaayan mahaabeer gajiyo |

When he came to senses, the mighty hero roared.

ਘਰੀ ਚਾਰ ਲਉ ਸਾਰ ਸੋ ਸਾਰ ਬਜਿਯੋ ॥
gharee chaar lau saar so saar bajiyo |

For four gharis, the steel clasged with steel.

ਲਗੇ ਬਾਣ ਸ੍ਰੋਣੰ ਗਿਰਿਯੋ ਭੂਮਿ ਜੁਧੇ ॥
lage baan sronan giriyo bhoom judhe |

With the infliction of the arrow of the goddess, the blood of Rakat Beej began to fall on the ground.

ਉਠੇ ਬੀਰ ਤੇਤੇ ਕੀਏ ਨਾਦ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੰ ॥੧੦॥੮੭॥
autthe beer tete kee naad krudhan |10|87|

With innumerable drops of blood arose innumerable Rakat Beejas, who began to shout with rage.10.87

ਉਠੇ ਬੀਰ ਜੇਤੇ ਤਿਤੇ ਕਾਲ ਕੂਟੇ ॥
autthe beer jete tite kaal kootte |

All the warriors who arose, were destroyed by Kali.

ਪਰੇ ਚਰਮ ਬਰਮੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਗਾਤ ਟੂਟੇ ॥
pare charam baraman kahoon gaat ttootte |

Somewhere their shields, armour and wounded bodies are lying scattered

ਜਿਤੀ ਭੂਮਿ ਮਧੰ ਪਰੀ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
jitee bhoom madhan paree sron dhaaran |

With all the drops of blood that fall on the ground.

ਜਗੇ ਸੂਰ ਤੇਤੇ ਕੀਏ ਮਾਰ ਮਾਰੰ ॥੧੧॥੮੮॥
jage soor tete kee maar maaran |11|88|

The same number of warriors arise shouting “kill, kill”. 11.88.

ਪਰੀ ਕੁਟ ਕੁਟੰ ਰੁਲੇ ਤਛ ਮੁਛੰ ॥
paree kutt kuttan rule tachh muchhan |

There were struck blows after blows and the warriors being chopped are rolling in dust.

ਕਹੂੰ ਮੁੰਡ ਤੁੰਡੰ ਕਹੂੰ ਮਾਸੁ ਮੁਛੰ ॥
kahoon mundd tunddan kahoon maas muchhan |

Their heads, faces and pieces of flesh are lying scattered.

ਭਯੋ ਚਾਰ ਸੈ ਕੋਸ ਲਉ ਬੀਰ ਖੇਤੰ ॥
bhayo chaar sai kos lau beer khetan |

For four hundred kos, the battlefield was occupied by warriors.

ਬਿਦਾਰੇ ਪਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦ੍ਰੰ ਬਿਚੇਤੰ ॥੧੨॥੮੯॥
bidaare pare beer brindran bichetan |12|89|

Most of whom are lying dead or senseless.12.89.

ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ ॥
rasaaval chhand |

RASAAVAL STANZA

ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਢੂਕੇ ॥
chahoon or dtooke |

(heroic warriors) are fitting from all four sides.

ਮੁਖੰ ਮਾਰੁ ਕੂਕੇ ॥
mukhan maar kooke |

They scream from their mouths.

ਝੰਡਾ ਗਡ ਗਾਢੇ ॥
jhanddaa gadd gaadte |

The flags are definitely up.

ਮਚੇ ਰੋਸ ਬਾਢੇ ॥੧੩॥੯੦॥
mache ros baadte |13|90|

They have fixed firmly their banners and in excitement their rage is increasing.13.90.

ਭਰੇ ਬੀਰ ਹਰਖੰ ॥
bhare beer harakhan |

The warriors are full of joy

ਕਰੀ ਬਾਣ ਬਰਖੰ ॥
karee baan barakhan |

The warriors filled with delight are showering their arrows.

ਚਵੰ ਚਾਰ ਢੁਕੇ ॥
chavan chaar dtuke |

From the four (sides) four types of army are suitable

ਪਛੇ ਆਹੁ ਰੁਕੇ ॥੧੪॥੯੧॥
pachhe aahu ruke |14|91|

All the four types of forces are moving forward and staying in their arens.14.91.

ਪਰੀ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਝਾਰੰ ॥
paree sasatr jhaaran |

There was a (good) harvest of weapons,

ਚਲੀ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਧਾਰੰ ॥
chalee sron dhaaran |

With the use of all the weapons, the stream of blood began to flow.

ਉਠੇ ਬੀਰ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
autthe beer maanee |

Proud heroes and soldiers are standing up

ਧਰੇ ਬਾਨ ਹਾਨੀ ॥੧੫॥੯੨॥
dhare baan haanee |15|92|

The most honoured warriors arose with bow and arrows in their hands.15.92.

ਮਹਾ ਰੋਸਿ ਗਜੇ ॥
mahaa ros gaje |

(They) are raging with great anger.

ਤੁਰੀ ਨਾਦ ਬਜੇ ॥
turee naad baje |

They are raaring in great anger, and the clarionets and drums are being played.

ਭਏ ਰੋਸ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
bhe ros bhaaree |

Being extremely angry

ਮਚੇ ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ॥੧੬॥੯੩॥
mache chhatradhaaree |16|93|

Filled with great fury, the wielders of canopies are much excited.16.93.

ਹਕੰ ਹਾਕ ਬਜੀ ॥
hakan haak bajee |

Being insulted and insulted,

ਫਿਰੈ ਸੈਣ ਭਜੀ ॥
firai sain bhajee |

There are shouts after shouts and the forces are running hither and thither.

ਪਰਿਯੋ ਲੋਹ ਕ੍ਰੋਹੰ ॥
pariyo loh krohan |

Iron is furiously clashing with iron.

ਛਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਸੋਹੰ ॥੧੭॥੯੪॥
chhake soor sohan |17|94|

With great ire, the steel is being used, and the inebriated warriors look glorious.17.94.

ਗਿਰੇ ਅੰਗ ਭੰਗੰ ॥
gire ang bhangan |

Broken limbs seem to fall (inj),

ਦਵੰ ਜਾਨੁ ਦੰਗੰ ॥
davan jaan dangan |

The warriors with chopped limbs have fallen and the red blood appears like flaming fire.

ਕੜੰਕਾਰ ਛੁਟੇ ॥
karrankaar chhutte |

Arrows are released after being shot

ਝਣੰਕਾਰ ਉਠੇ ॥੧੮॥੯੫॥
jhanankaar utthe |18|95|

The jingling and the twanging sounds of weapons are being heard.18.95.

ਕਟਾ ਕਟ ਬਾਹੇ ॥
kattaa katt baahe |

Katakat (armour) is moving

ਉਭੈ ਜੀਤ ਚਾਹੈ ॥
aubhai jeet chaahai |

The weapons are being struck with clinking sound and both sides wan their victory.

ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮਾਤੇ ॥
mahaa mad maate |

(They are) very drunk

ਤਪੇ ਤੇਜ ਤਾਤੇ ॥੧੯॥੯੬॥
tape tej taate |19|96|

Many are intoxicated with wine and in great fury, they appear highly inflamed.19.96.
