ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕਰਮ ਕਾਰਣੰ ॥
kripaal karam kaaranan |Kripalu is the savior,
ਬਿਹਾਲ ਦਿਆਲ ਤਾਰਣੰ ॥੨੦੪॥
bihaal diaal taaranan |204|“He is merciful and kind towards all and mercifully gives support to helpless and ferries them across.204.
ਅਨੇਕ ਸੰਤ ਤਾਰਣੰ ॥
anek sant taaranan |O the deliverer of many saints,
ਅਦੇਵ ਦੇਵ ਕਾਰਣੰ ॥
adev dev kaaranan |“He is the saviour of many saints and is the basic cause of the gods and demons.
ਸੁਰੇਸ ਭਾਇ ਰੂਪਣੰ ॥
sures bhaae roopanan |He is in the form of Indra
ਸਮਿਧ੍ਰ ਸਿਧ ਕੂਪਣੰ ॥੨੦੫॥
samidhr sidh koopanan |205|“He is also the king of gods and is the store of all powers.”205.
ਬਰੰ ਨਰੇਸ ਦੀਜੀਐ ॥
baran nares deejeeai |(Then Kaikai started saying-) Hey Rajan! Give (me) rain.
ਕਹੇ ਸੁ ਪੂਰ ਕੀਜੀਐ ॥
kahe su poor keejeeai |The queen said, “O king! Grant me the boons and fulfil thy sayins.
ਨ ਸੰਕ ਰਾਜ ਧਾਰੀਐ ॥
n sank raaj dhaareeai |O Rajan! Have no doubt in your mind,
ਨ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲ ਹਾਰੀਐ ॥੨੦੬॥
n bol bol haareeai |206|“Adandon the position of duality from your mind and do not fail in your promise.”206.

ਨ ਲਾਜੀਐ ॥
n laajeeai |(O King!) Do not be ashamed
ਨ ਭਾਜੀਐ ॥
n bhaajeeai |(from speech) do not turn,
ਰਘੁਏਸ ਕੋ ॥
raghues ko |To Rama
ਬਨੇਸ ਕੋ ॥੨੦੭॥
banes ko |207|“O king! Do not hesitate and run away from your promise, give exile to Ram.207.
ਬਿਦਾ ਕਰੋ ॥
bidaa karo |send (Rama) away,
ਧਰਾ ਹਰੋ ॥
dharaa haro |Remove (the weight of) the earth,
ਨ ਭਾਜੀਐ ॥
n bhaajeeai |(from speech) do not turn,
ਬਿਰਾਜੀਐ ॥੨੦੮॥
biraajeeai |208|“Bid farewell to Ram and take back the proposed rule from him. Don’t run away from your promise and be seated peacefully.208.

basisatt ko |(O King!) Vashishta
ਦਿਜਿਸਟ ਕੋ ॥
dijisatt ko |And to the Raj Purohit
ਬੁਲਾਈਐ ॥

patthaaeeai |209|“O king! Cal Vasishtha and the royal priest and send Ram to the forest.”209.

nares jee |The king (Dasaratha)
ਉਸੇਸ ਲੀ ॥
auses lee |Cool breath
ਘੁਮੇ ਘਿਰੇ ॥
ghume ghire |And by eating gherni
ਧਰਾ ਗਿਰੇ ॥੨੧੦॥
dharaa gire |210|The king heaved a long sigh, moved hither and thither and then fell down.210.
ਸੁਚੇਤ ਭੇ ॥
suchet bhe |When the king
ਅਚੇਤ ਤੇ ॥
achet te |Awakened from the unconscious state
ਉਸਾਸ ਲੈ ॥
ausaas lai |So take a chance
ਉਦਾਸ ਹ੍ਵੈ ॥੨੧੧॥
audaas hvai |211|The king again came to his senses from the stupor and grievously heaved a long breath.211.
ਉਗਾਧ ਛੰਦ ॥
augaadh chhand |UGAADH STANZA
ਸਬਾਰ ਨੈਣੰ ॥
sabaar nainan |(The king) with watery eyes
ਉਦਾਸ ਬੈਣੰ ॥
audaas bainan |With tears in his eyes and anguish in his utterance,
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਕੁਨਾਰੀ ॥
kahiyo kunaaree |Said - O lowly woman!
ਕੁਬ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਰੀ ॥੨੧੨॥
kubrit kaaree |212|The kin said to Kaikeyi, “You are a mean and evil woman.212.
ਕਲੰਕ ਰੂਪਾ ॥
kalank roopaa |There is stigma!
ਕੁਵਿਰਤ ਕੂਪਾ ॥
kuvirat koopaa |“You are a blemish on womankind and a store of vices.
ਨਿਲਜ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
nilaj nainee |O innocent-eyed one!
ਕੁਬਾਕ ਬੈਣੀ ॥੨੧੩॥
kubaak bainee |213|“You have no shame in your eyes and your words are ignominious.213.
ਕਲੰਕ ਕਰਣੀ ॥
kalank karanee |O blasphemer!
ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਹਰਣੀ ॥
samridh haranee |“You are evil woman and are the destroyer of enhancement.
ਅਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਰਮਾ ॥
akrit karamaa |O doer of impossible deeds!
ਨਿਲਜ ਧਰਮਾ ॥੨੧੪॥
nilaj dharamaa |214|“You are performer of evil deeds and shameless in your Dharma.214.
ਅਲਜ ਧਾਮੰ ॥
alaj dhaaman |O house of shamelessness
ਨਿਲਜ ਬਾਮੰ ॥
nilaj baaman |“You are the abode of shamelessness and a woman forsaking hesitation (shyness).
ਅਸੋਭ ਕਰਣੀ ॥
asobh karanee |Disgraceful!
ਸਸੋਭ ਹਰਣੀ ॥੨੧੫॥
sasobh haranee |215|“You are the performer of misdeeds and destroyer of glory.215.
