ਕਈ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਰੰਤ ਬੇਦ ॥
kee sinmrit saasatr ucharant bed |Many recite Smritis Shastras and Vedas!
ਕਈ ਕੋਕ ਕਾਬ ਕਥਤ ਕਤੇਬ ॥੧੦॥੧੩੦॥
kee kok kaab kathat kateb |10|130|Many go through Kok Shastras (pertaining to sex) other poetry books and Semitic Scriptures! 10. 130
ਕਈ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਈ ਪਉਨ ਅਹਾਰ ॥
kee agan hotr kee paun ahaar |Many perform havan (fire-worship) and many subsist on air!
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਕੋਟ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੋ ਅਹਾਰ ॥
kee karat kott mrit ko ahaar |Many a million eat clay!
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਸਾਕ ਪੈ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਭਛ ॥
kee karat saak pai patr bhachh |May people eat green leaves!
ਨਹੀ ਤਦਪਿ ਦੇਵ ਹੋਵਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਛ ॥੧੧॥੧੩੧॥
nahee tadap dev hovat pratachh |11|131|Still the Lord does not manifest Himself to them! 11. 131
ਕਈ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਨ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਰੀਤ ॥
kee geet gaan gandharab reet |There are many song-tunes and observances of Gandharvas!
ਕਈ ਬੇਦ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ॥
kee bed saasatr bidiaa prateet |There are many who are absorbed in the learning of Vedas and Shastras!
ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਰੀਤਿ ਜਗ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ॥
kahoon bed reet jag aad karam |Somewhere Yagyas (sacrifices) are performed according to the Vedic injunctions!
ਕਹੂੰ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਹੂੰ ਤੀਰਥ ਧਰਮ ॥੧੨॥੧੩੨॥
kahoon agan hotr kahoon teerath dharam |12|132|Somewhere havens are performed and somewhere at pilgrim-stations the befitting rituals are being followed! 12. 132
ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਭਾਖਾ ਰਟੰਤ ॥
kee des des bhaakhaa rattant |Many speak languages of different countries!
ਕਈ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਪੜ੍ਹੰਤ ॥
kee des des bidiaa parrhant |Many study the learning of various countries! Many study the learning of various countries
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤਨ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
kee karat bhaant bhaantan bichaar |Many ruminate over several types of philosophies!
ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਤਾਸੁ ਪਾਯਤ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥੧੩॥੧੩੩॥
nahee naik taas paayat na paar |13|133|Still they cannot comprehend even a little of the Lord! 13. 133
ਕਈ ਤੀਰਥ ਤੀਰਥ ਭਰਮਤ ਸੁ ਭਰਮ ॥
kee teerath teerath bharamat su bharam |Many wander away on various pilgrim-stations in delusion!
ਕਈ ਅਗਨ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਈ ਦੇਵ ਕਰਮ ॥
kee agan hotr kee dev karam |Some perform havens and some perform rituals to please gods!
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਰ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
kee karat beer bidiaa bichaar |Some pay consideration to the learning of warfare!
ਨਹੀਂ ਤਦਪ ਤਾਸ ਪਾਯਤ ਨ ਪਾਰ ॥੧੪॥੧੩੪॥
naheen tadap taas paayat na paar |14|134|Still they cannot comprehend of the Lord! 14. 134
ਕਹੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਰੀਤ ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਧਰਮ ॥
kahoon raaj reet kahoon jog dharam |Somewhere royal discipline is being followed and somewhere the discipline of Yoga!
ਕਈ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਰਤ ਸੁ ਕਰਮ ॥
kee sinmrit saasatr ucharat su karam |Many perform the recitation of Smritis and Shastras!
ਨਿਉਲੀ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਹੂੰ ਹਸਤ ਦਾਨ ॥
niaulee aad karam kahoon hasat daan |Somewhere Yogic Karmas including neoli (purgation of intestines) are being practiced and somewhere elephants are being given as gifts!
ਕਹੂੰ ਅਸ੍ਵਮੇਧ ਮਖ ਕੋ ਬਖਾਨ ॥੧੫॥੧੩੫॥
kahoon asvamedh makh ko bakhaan |15|135|Somewhere the horse sacrifices are being performed and their merits are being related! 15. 135
ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
kahoon karat braham bidiaa bichaar |Somewhere the Brahmins are holding discussions about Theology!
ਕਹੂੰ ਜੋਗ ਰੀਤ ਕਹੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਚਾਰ ॥
kahoon jog reet kahoon bridh chaar |Somewhere the Yogic methods are being practiced and somewhere the four stages of life are being followed!
ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਗਾਨ ॥
kahoon karat jachh gandhrab gaan |Somewhere the Yaksha and Gandharvas sing!
ਕਹੂੰ ਧੂਪ ਦੀਪ ਕਹੂੰ ਅਰਘ ਦਾਨ ॥੧੬॥੧੩੬॥
kahoon dhoop deep kahoon aragh daan |16|136|Somewhere the offerings of incense earthen lamps and libations are made! 16. 136
ਕਹੂੰ ਪਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਮ ਕਹੂੰ ਬੇਦ ਰੀਤ ॥
kahoon pitr karam kahoon bed reet |Somewhere karmas are performed for the manes and somewhere the Vedic injunctions are followed!
ਕਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਚ ਕਹੂੰ ਗਾਨ ਗੀਤ ॥
kahoon nrit naach kahoon gaan geet |Somewhere the dances are accomplished and somewhere songs are sung!
ਕਹੂੰ ਕਰਤ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਉਚਾਰ ॥
kahoon karat saasatr sinmrit uchaar |Somewhere the Shastras and Smritis are recited!
ਕਈ ਭਜਤ ਏਕ ਪਗ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ॥੧੭॥੧੩੭॥
kee bhajat ek pag niraadhaar |17|137|May pray stading on a single foot! 17. 137
ਕਈ ਨੇਹ ਦੇਹ ਕਈ ਗੇਹ ਵਾਸ ॥
kee neh deh kee geh vaas |Many are attached to their bodies and many reside in their homes!
ਕਈ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਨ ਉਦਾਸ ॥
kee bhramat des desan udaas |Many wander in various countries as hermits!
ਕਈ ਜਲ ਨਿਵਾਸ ਕਈ ਅਗਨਿ ਤਾਪ ॥
kee jal nivaas kee agan taap |Many live in water and many endure the heat of fire!
ਕਈ ਜਪਤ ਉਰਧ ਲਟਕੰਤ ਜਾਪ ॥੧੮॥੧੩੮॥
kee japat uradh lattakant jaap |18|138|Many worship the Lord with face upside down! 18. 138
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਜੋਗ ਕਲਪੰ ਪ੍ਰਜੰਤ ॥
kee karat jog kalapan prajant |Many practice Yoga for various kalpas (ages)!
ਨਹੀ ਤਦਪਿ ਤਾਸ ਪਾਯਤ ਨ ਅੰਤ ॥
nahee tadap taas paayat na ant |Still they cannot know the Lord’s end!
ਕਈ ਕਰਤ ਕੋਟ ਬਿਦਿਆ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
kee karat kott bidiaa bichaar |Many a million indulge in the study of sciences!
ਨਹੀ ਤਦਪਿ ਦਿਸਟਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਮੁਰਾਰ ॥੧੯॥੧੩੯॥
nahee tadap disatt dekhai muraar |19|139|Still they cannot behold the Sight of the Lord! 19. 139
ਬਿਨ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਕਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਰਤ ਪਾਨ ॥
bin bhagat sakat nahee parat paan |Without the power of devotion they cannot realise the Lord!
ਬਹੁ ਕਰਤ ਹੋਮ ਅਰ ਜਗ ਦਾਨ ॥
bahu karat hom ar jag daan |Though they perform havens hold Yagyas (sacrifices) and offer charities!
ਬਿਨ ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਇਕ ਚਿਤ ਲੀਨ ॥
bin ek naam ik chit leen |Without the single-minded absorption in he Lord’s Name !
ਫੋਕਟੋ ਸਰਬ ਧਰਮਾ ਬਿਹੀਨ ॥੨੦॥੧੪੦॥
fokatto sarab dharamaa biheen |20|140|All the religious rituals are useless! 20. 140
ਤ੍ਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ ॥
tv prasaad | tottak chhand |BY THY GRACE TOTAK STANZA!
ਜਯ ਜੰਪਤ ਜੁਗਣ ਜੂਹ ਜੁਅੰ ॥
jay janpat jugan jooh juan |Gather ye together and shout victory to that Lord!
ਭੈ ਕੰਪਹਿ ਮੇਰੁ ਪਯਾਲ ਭੁਅੰ ॥
bhai kanpeh mer payaal bhuan |In whose Fear tremble the heaven nether-world and the earth!
ਤਪੁ ਤਾਪਸ ਸਰਬ ਜਲੇਰੁ ਥਲੰ ॥
tap taapas sarab jaler thalan |For whose realization all the ascetics of water and land perform austerities!
ਧਨ ਉਚਰਤ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਬਲੰ ॥੧॥੧੪੧॥
dhan ucharat indr kuber balan |1|141|To Whom Indra Kuber and king Bal hail ! 1. 141
ਅਨਖੇਦ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਭੇਦ ਅਭਿਅੰ ॥
anakhed saroop abhed abhian |He is Griefless Entity Indiscriminate and Fearless!
