ਖਰਚੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਤਵਨ ਕਹ ਦਈ ॥
kharachee adhik tavan kah dee |Gave her (maid) a lot of money to spend
ਤਤਛਿਨ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਿਦਾ ਪਠਈ ॥੧੮॥
tatachhin kar kai bidaa patthee |18|And sent away immediately. 18.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਬਿਦਾ ਭਈ ਬਹੁ ਦਰਬ ਲੈ ਗਈ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੇ ਧਾਮ ॥
bidaa bhee bahu darab lai gee kuar ke dhaam |She (the maid) left with a lot of money and went to that Kumar's house.
ਆਠ ਮਾਸ ਦੁਰਿ ਤਹ ਰਹੀ ਲਖੀ ਨ ਦੂਸਰ ਬਾਮ ॥੧੯॥
aatth maas dur tah rahee lakhee na doosar baam |19|(She) remained hidden there for eight months and no other woman saw (her).19.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਨਵਮੋ ਮਾਸ ਚੜਤ ਜਬ ਭਯੋ ॥
navamo maas charrat jab bhayo |When the ninth month dawned,
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਭੇਸ ਨਾਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਯੋ ॥
taa kah bhes naar ko kayo |So he (Kumar) was disguised as a woman.
ਲੈ ਰਾਨੀ ਕਹ ਤਾਹਿ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ॥
lai raanee kah taeh dikhaayo |Brought (him) and showed it to the queen.
ਸਭਹਿਨ ਹੇਰਿ ਹਿਯੋ ਹੁਲਸਾਯੋ ॥੨੦॥
sabhahin her hiyo hulasaayo |20|All (the women) were happy to see. 20.
ਜੋ ਮੈ ਕਹੋ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
jo mai kaho sunahu nrip naaree |(Dasi started saying) O Rani! Listen to what I say.
ਇਹ ਸੌਪਹੁ ਤੁਮ ਅਪਨਿ ਦੁਲਾਰੀ ॥
eih sauapahu tum apan dulaaree |Hand it over to your daughter.
ਰਾਜਾ ਸਾਥ ਨ ਭੇਦ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥
raajaa saath na bhed bakhaano |Do not tell the king its secret.
ਮੇਰੋ ਬਚਨ ਸਤਿ ਕਰ ਮਾਨੋ ॥੨੧॥
mero bachan sat kar maano |21|Accept my words truthfully. 21.
ਜੋ ਇਸ ਕੌ ਰਾਜਾ ਲਹਿ ਲੈ ਹੈ ॥
jo is kau raajaa leh lai hai |If the king sees it,
ਭੂਲਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਧਾਮ ਨ ਐ ਹੈ ॥
bhool tihaaro dhaam na aai hai |Then he will not come to your house.
ਲੈ ਯਾ ਕੌ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ਨਿਜੁ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
lai yaa kau kar hai nij naaree |It will make your lady
ਮੁਖ ਬਾਏ ਰਹਿ ਹੋ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਯਾਰੀ ॥੨੨॥
mukh baae reh ho tum payaaree |22|And oh dear! You will remain face to face. 22.
ਭਲੀ ਕਹੀ ਤੁਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਖਾਨੀ ॥
bhalee kahee tuhi taeh bakhaanee |(The queen said) You have done well what you have told.
ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਗਤਿ ਕਿਨੂੰ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
triy charitr gat kinoo na jaanee |No one has understood the speed of a woman's character.
ਤਿਹ ਕੋ ਭਵਨ ਸੁਤਾ ਕੇ ਰਾਖਾ ॥
tih ko bhavan sutaa ke raakhaa |He was kept in the daughter's house
ਭੇਦ ਨ ਮੂਲ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਤਨ ਭਾਖਾ ॥੨੩॥
bhed na mool nripat tan bhaakhaa |23|And did not tell any secret of it to the king. 23.
ਚਹਤ ਹੁਤੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸੁਤਾ ਸੁ ਭਈ ॥
chahat hutee nrip sutaa su bhee |What Raj Kumari wanted, happened.
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਸਹਚਰਿ ਛਲਿ ਗਈ ॥
eih chhal so sahachar chhal gee |With this trick, the maid tricked (the queen).
ਤਾ ਕਹ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਧਾਮ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਾ ॥
taa kah pragatt dhaam meh raakhaa |He clearly kept it at home
ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਭੇਦ ਕੋਊ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਹਿ ਨ ਭਾਖਾ ॥੨੪॥
nripeh bhed koaoo triyeh na bhaakhaa |24|And the queen did not say anything to the king. 24.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਇਹ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਤਿਹ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਲਹਿਯੋ ਆਪਨੋ ਯਾਰ ॥
eih charitr tih chanchalaa lahiyo aapano yaar |(By performing this charitra) that Kumari got her friend.
ਸਭ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮੁਖ ਬਾਏ ਰਹੀ ਸਕਾ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੨੫॥
sabh triy mukh baae rahee sakaa na koaoo bichaar |25|All the women were left speechless, no one could understand the secret. 25.
ਸੁਰ ਮੁਨਿ ਨਾਗ ਭੁਜੰਗ ਸਭ ਨਰ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਕਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
sur mun naag bhujang sabh nar bapure kin maeh |Devas, sages, snakes, bhujangs and manukhs are all considered,
ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਨ ਕੇ ਭੇਦ ਪਛਾਨਤ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੨੬॥
dev adev triyaan ke bhed pachhaanat naeh |26|Even gods and demons have not been able to recognize the secrets of women. 26.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਦੋਇ ਸੌ ਅਠਾਸੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੨੮੮॥੫੪੭੭॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade doe sau atthaasee charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |288|5477|afajoon|Here is the conclusion of the 288th charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 288.5477. goes on

ਸੁਨਾ ਸਹਿਰ ਬਗਦਾਦ ਕੇ ਦਛਿਨ ਸੈਨ ਨਰੇਸ ॥
sunaa sahir bagadaad ke dachhin sain nares |A king of Baghdad named Dachhin San has heard.
ਦਛਿਨ ਦੇ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਰਹਤ ਸੁ ਰਤਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਸ ॥੧॥
dachhin de taa ke tarun rahat su rat ke bhes |1|His wife was Dachhin (Dei) who was like the form of Rati.1.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਕਮਲ ਕੇਤੁ ਇਕ ਸਾਹੁ ਬਸਤ ਤਹ ॥
kamal ket ik saahu basat tah |There lived a king named Kamal Ketu,
ਜਾ ਸਮ ਦੂਸਰ ਭਯੋ ਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਹ ॥
jaa sam doosar bhayo na meh mah |There was no one else like him on earth.
ਤੇਜਵਾਨ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਧਰਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
tejavaan balavaan dharatree |He was energetic, strong and armed
ਜਾਹਿਰ ਚਹੂੰ ਓਰ ਮਹਿ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥੨॥
jaahir chahoon or meh chhatree |2|And it was popular in the form of an umbrella on the four sides. 2.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਜਬ ਰਾਨੀ ਤਿਹ ਕੁਅਰ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਬਿਲੋਕਾ ਨੈਨ ॥
jab raanee tih kuar ko roop bilokaa nain |When Rani saw the form of that Kumar with her eyes,
ਰਹੀ ਮਗਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਮੈਨ ਮਦ ਬਿਸਰ ਗਈ ਸੁਧਿ ਐਨ ॥੩॥
rahee magan hvai main mad bisar gee sudh aain |3|So she became satisfied and forgot about the house. 3.

ਚਤੁਰ ਸਹਚਰੀ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਹਕਾਰੀ ॥
chatur sahacharee kuar hakaaree |That queen called a clever maid.
ਆਨਿ ਕੁਅਰਿ ਤਨ ਕੀਅਸ ਜੁਹਾਰੀ ॥
aan kuar tan keeas juhaaree |(He) came and paid obeisance to the queen.
ਚਿਤ ਕੋ ਭੇਦ ਸਕਲ ਤਿਹ ਦੀਯੋ ॥
chit ko bhed sakal tih deeyo |Tell him everything on your mind
ਵਾ ਕੇ ਤੀਰ ਪਠਾਵਨ ਕੀਯੋ ॥੪॥
vaa ke teer patthaavan keeyo |4|And sent (him) to him (Kumar). 4.
