Though his arms have been chopped.”2239.
Speech of Krishna:
SWAYYA
“O Shiva! listen, I shall do it now
Seeing his arms cut doen and his erratic behaviour, I relinquish my anger
(He calls himself) the son of Prahlad, so this is what I consider in my mind.
“I also think that he is the son of Prahlad, therefore I release him after punishing him and do not kill him.”2240.
(Shiva) being thus blessed by Lord Krishna, placed that king at the feet of Lord Krishna.
In this way, causing the king to accept his mistake, Shiva got him to fall at the feet of Krishna and said, “Sahasrabahu has committed a wrong act, O Lord! forsake your anger
Marry (your) grandson with his daughter, think nothing else in your mind.
“Now marry your son with his daughter without any thought and taking Usha and Aniruddh with you, go to your home.”2241.
He, who will listen to the praises of Krishna from others and also sing himself
He, who will read about his virtues, and cause others to read the same and sing in verse
He meditates on Sri Krishna while sleeping, waking up, walking around the house.
He, who will remember him, while sleeping, waking and moving, he will never be born again in this ocean of Samsara.2242.
End of the description of conquering Banasura and marrying Aniruddh and Usha in Krishnavatara (based on Dasham Skandh Purana) in Bachittar Natak.
Now begins the description of the salvation of the king Dig
CHAUPAI
There was a Chhatri king named Dig.
There was a Kshatriya king named Dig, who was born as a chameleon
All the Yadavs (boys) came to play.
When all the Yadavas were playing, then being thirsty, they came to a well.2243.
(They) saw a lizard in him.
Seeing a chameleon in the well, they all thought of taking it out
(They) began to withdraw, (but it was not withdrawn from them).
They made efforts, but noticing thief failure, they all felt amazed.2244.
Speech of the Yadavas addressed to Krishna:
DOHRA
Thinking about this, all of them, came to Krishna and said, “There is a chameleon in the well
Adopt some measure and take it out.”2245.
KABIT
Hearing the world of Yadavas, and understanding the whole mystery,
Krishna said smilingly, “Where is that well, show it to me.”
The Yadavas led and Krishna followed and reaching there he saw in the well
When Krishna caught that chameleon, all its sins ended and it was transformed into a man.2246.
SWAYYA
He, who remembered Krihsna for an instant, he was redeemed
Instructing the parrot, Ganika obtained salvation
Who is there such an individual, who has remembered the Lord (Narayana) and did not ferry across the world-ocean
Then this chameleon, which was thouched by Krishna, why it should not be redeemed?247.
TOTAK STANZA
When Sri Krishna lifted him up,
When Krishna took it up, it was transformed into a man
Then Sri Krishna spoke to him like this
Then Krishna asked, “What is your name, and which is your country?”2248.
Speech of the chameleon addressed to Krishna:
SORTHA
“My name is Dig and I am the king of a country
