ਦਾਰਿਮ ਦਰਕ ਗਇਓ ਪੇਖਿ ਦਸਨਨਿ ਪਾਤਿ ਰੂਪ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਕ੍ਰਾਤਿ ਜਗਿ ਫੈਲ ਰਹੀ ਸਿਤ ਹੀ ॥
daarim darak geio pekh dasanan paat roop hee kee kraat jag fail rahee sit hee |“Seeing the row of teeth, the heart of pomegranate hath burst, the luster of her beauty is spreading like moonshine in the world.
ਐਸੀ ਗੁਨ ਸਾਗਰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਸੁ ਨਾਗਰਿ ਹੈ ਲੀਨੋ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਨੈਨ ਕੋਰਿ ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ॥੮੯॥
aaisee gun saagar ujaagar su naagar hai leeno man mero har nain kor chit hee |89|“That most beautiful damsel hath manifested herself and the ocean of suchlike qualities, she hath captivated my mind with the sharpness of her eyes.”89.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |DOHRA,
ਬਾਤ ਦੈਤ ਕੀ ਸੁੰਭ ਸੁਨਿ ਬੋਲਿਓ ਕਛੁ ਮੁਸਕਾਤ ॥
baat dait kee sunbh sun bolio kachh musakaat |Hearing the words of the demon, the king Sumbh said smilingly,
ਚਤੁਰ ਦੂਤ ਕੋਊ ਭੇਜੀਏ ਲਖਿ ਆਵੈ ਤਿਹ ਘਾਤ ॥੯੦॥
chatur doot koaoo bhejee lakh aavai tih ghaat |90|“Some expert spy be sent there in order to know her ingenuity.”90.,
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਕਹੀ ਉਨ ਦੈਤ ਅਬ ਕੀਜੈ ਏਕ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
bahur kahee un dait ab keejai ek bichaar |That demon said again, “It may now be considered,
ਜੋ ਲਾਇਕ ਭਟ ਸੈਨ ਮੈ ਭੇਜਹੁ ਦੈ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ॥੯੧॥
jo laaeik bhatt sain mai bhejahu dai adhikaar |91|“To send the most efficient warrior in the army giving him authority.”91.,
ਸ੍ਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਬੈਠੋ ਹੁਤੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਧਿ ਸਭਾ ਉਠਿ ਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਜੋਰਿ ਕਹਿਓ ਮਮ ਜਾਊ ॥
baittho huto nrip madh sabhaa utth kai kar jor kahio mam jaaoo |The king was seated in his court and there with folded hands (Dhumar Lochan) said, I will go,
ਬਾਤਨ ਤੇ ਰਿਝਵਾਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਹੋ ਨਾਤੁਰਿ ਕੇਸਨ ਤੇ ਗਹਿ ਲਿਆਊ ॥
baatan te rijhavaae milaae ho naatur kesan te geh liaaoo |“Firstly, I shall please her with talk, otherwise, I shall bring her, seizing her by her hair,
ਕ੍ਰੁਧ੍ਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਬ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰੇ ਰਣਿ ਸ੍ਰਉਣਤ ਕੀ ਸਰਤਾਨ ਬਹਾਊ ॥
krudhr kare tab judh kare ran sraunat kee sarataan bahaaoo |“If she makes me furious, I shall wage the war with her and cause the steams of blood to flow in the battlefield,
ਲੋਚਨ ਧੂਮ ਕਹੈ ਬਲ ਆਪਨੋ ਸ੍ਵਾਸਨ ਸਾਥ ਪਹਾਰ ਉਡਾਊ ॥੯੨॥
lochan dhoom kahai bal aapano svaasan saath pahaar uddaaoo |92|“I have so much strength that I can make the mountains fly with the blowing of my breaths,” said Dhumar Lochan.92.,
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਉਠੇ ਬੀਰ ਕੋ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਸੁੰਭ ਕਹੀ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਹੁ ॥
autthe beer ko dekh kai sunbh kahee tum jaahu |Seeing that warrior getting up, Sumbh told him to go:,
ਰੀਝੈ ਆਵੈ ਆਨੀਓ ਖੀਝੇ ਜੁਧ ਕਰਾਹੁ ॥੯੩॥
reejhai aavai aaneeo kheejhe judh karaahu |93|“Bring her if she is pleased to come, if she is furious, then wage the war.”93.,
ਤਹਾ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਲੋਚਨ ਚਲੇ ਚਤੁਰੰਗਨ ਦਲੁ ਸਾਜਿ ॥
tahaa dhoomr lochan chale chaturangan dal saaj |Then Dhumar Lochan went there after arranging the four parts of his army.,
ਗਿਰ ਘੇਰਿਓ ਘਨ ਘਟਾ ਜਿਉ ਗਰਜ ਗਰਜ ਗਜਰਾਜ ॥੯੪॥
gir gherio ghan ghattaa jiau garaj garaj gajaraaj |94|Like dark clouds, he besieged the mountain (of the goddess), thundering like the king of elephants.94.,
ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਨੈਨ ਗਿਰ ਰਾਜ ਤਟਿ ਊਚੇ ਕਹੀ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥
dhoomr nain gir raaj tatt aooche kahee pukaar |Dhumar Lochan then shouted loudly, standing on the base of the mountain,
ਕੈ ਬਰੁ ਸੁੰਭ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਕੋ ਕੈ ਲਰ ਚੰਡਿ ਸੰਭਾਰਿ ॥੯੫॥
kai bar sunbh nripaal ko kai lar chandd sanbhaar |95|“O Chandi, either marry the king Sumbh or wage the war.”95.,
ਰਿਪੁ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਭਈ ਅਸਵਾਰ ॥
rip ke bachan sunat hee singh bhee asavaar |Hearing the words of the enemy, the goddess mounted her lion.,
ਗਿਰ ਤੇ ਉਤਰੀ ਬੇਗ ਦੈ ਕਰਿ ਆਯੁਧ ਸਭ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੯੬॥
gir te utaree beg dai kar aayudh sabh dhaar |96|She descended the mountain swiftly, holding the weapons in her hands.96.,

ਕੋਪ ਕੈ ਚੰਡ ਪ੍ਰਚੰਡ ਚੜੀ ਇਤ ਕ੍ਰੁਧੁ ਕੈ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਚੜੈ ਉਤ ਸੈਨੀ ॥
kop kai chandd prachandd charree it krudh kai dhoomr charrai ut sainee |From that side, the powerful Chandi marched forward in great furry and from this side, the army of Dhumar Lochan moved forward.,
ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਨ ਮਾਰ ਮਚੀ ਤਬ ਦੇਵੀ ਲਈ ਬਰਛੀ ਕਰਿ ਪੈਨੀ ॥
baan kripaanan maar machee tab devee lee barachhee kar painee |There were great slayings with shafts and swards, the goddess held up the sharp dagger in her hand.
