ਬਿਸਨਪਦ ॥ ਕਿਦਾਰਾ ॥

VISHNUPADA KEDARA

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਯੋ ਆਹਵ ਘੋਰ ॥
eih bidh bhayo aahav ghor |

Thus a fierce war ensued.

ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਧਰਾ ਪਰ ਸੂਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਿਸੋਰ ॥
bhaat bhaat gire dharaa par soor sundar kisor |

In this way, there was a dreadful fighting and the fine warriors fell upon the earth

ਕੋਪ ਕੋਪ ਹਠੀ ਘਟੀ ਰਣਿ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਇ ॥
kop kop hatthee ghattee ran sasatr asatr chalaae |

In the battlefield, the Hathi (army of warriors) got angry and fell, wielding weapons.

ਜੂਝਿ ਜੂਝਿ ਗਏ ਦਿਵਾਲਯ ਢੋਲ ਬੋਲ ਬਜਾਇ ॥
joojh joojh ge divaalay dtol bol bajaae |

Those persistent warriors in their fury struck their arms and weapons and sounding their drums and trumpets and fighting bravely, they tell upon the ground

ਹਾਇ ਹਾਇ ਭਈ ਜਹਾ ਤਹ ਭਾਜਿ ਭਾਜਿ ਸੁ ਬੀਰ ॥
haae haae bhee jahaa tah bhaaj bhaaj su beer |

The sound of lamentation was heard on all sides and the warriors ran hither and thither

ਪੈਠਿ ਪੈਠਿ ਗਏ ਤ੍ਰੀਆਲੈ ਹਾਰਿ ਹਾਰਿ ਅਧੀਰ ॥
paitth paitth ge treeaalai haar haar adheer |

On this side they were falling on the earth and on that side the heavenly damsels getting agitated were putting wreaths around their necks and wedding them

ਅਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਛੁਟੇ ਸਰਾਨ ਦਿਸਾਨ ਭਯੋ ਅੰਧਿਆਰ ॥
apramaan chhutte saraan disaan bhayo andhiaar |

Endless arrows had gone (by which) darkness had spread in all directions.

ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਪਰੇ ਜਹਾ ਤਹ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੁਝਾਰ ॥੧੦੧॥
ttook ttook pare jahaa tah maar maar jujhaar |101|

The darkness spread on the discharge of innumerable arrows and the dead warriors were seen scattered hither and thither in bits.27.101.

VISHNUPADA DEVGANDHARI

ਮਾਰੂ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਨ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
maaroo sabad suhaavan baajai |

The slanderers are sounding sweet bells.

ਜੇ ਜੇ ਹੁਤੇ ਸੁਭਟ ਰਣਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਆਯੁਧ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
je je hute subhatt ran sundar geh geh aayudh gaaje |

The deadly musical instruments were played in the wararena and all the fine warriors holding their weapons in their hands thundered

ਕਵਚ ਪਹਰਿ ਪਾਖਰ ਸੋ ਡਾਰੀ ਅਉਰੈ ਆਯੁਧ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
kavach pahar paakhar so ddaaree aaurai aayudh saaje |

Having put on armor, they put saddles (on horses) and put on armor.

ਭਰੇ ਗੁਮਾਨ ਸੁਭਟ ਸਿੰਘਨ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਆਹਵ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ॥
bhare gumaan subhatt singhan jayon aahav bhoom biraaje |

Wearing their armours and striking all the warriors were fighting in the battlefield like lions filled with pride

ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਚਲੇ ਗਦਾ ਗਾਜੀ ਸਬ ਸੁਭਟ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਕਾਜੇ ॥
geh geh chale gadaa gaajee sab subhatt ayodhan kaaje |

All the warriors were going to fight holding the mace.

ਆਹਵ ਭੂਮਿ ਸੂਰ ਅਸ ਸੋਭੇ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦੁਤਿ ਲਾਜੇ ॥
aahav bhoom soor as sobhe nirakh indr dut laaje |

Holding their maces, the fighters moved for fighting, these warriors looked splendid in the battlefield and even Indra on seeing them and their elegance was feeling shy

ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਹੂਐ ਗਿਰੇ ਧਰਣਿ ਪਰ ਆਹਵ ਛੋਰਿ ਨ ਭਾਜੇ ॥
ttook ttook hooaai gire dharan par aahav chhor na bhaaje |

They were falling on the ground having been cut into bits, but they were not running away from the battlefield

ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਭਏ ਦੇਵ ਮੰਦਰ ਕਹੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰਨ ਸੁਭਟ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ॥੧੦੨॥
praapat bhe dev mandar kahu sasatran subhatt nivaaje |102|

They were embracing death and were moving into the worlds of gods alonwith their weapons.28.102.

VISHNUPADA KALYAN

ਦਹਦਿਸ ਧਾਵ ਭਏ ਜੁਝਾਰੇ ॥
dahadis dhaav bhe jujhaare |

The warring soldiers flee in ten directions.

ਮੁਦਗਰ ਗੁਫਨ ਗੁਰਜ ਗੋਲਾਲੇ ਪਟਸਿ ਪਰਘ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
mudagar gufan guraj golaale pattas paragh prahaare |

The warriors ran in all the ten directions and struck blows with maces, cannon-balls and axes

ਗਿਰਿ ਗਿਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਸੁਭਟ ਰਨ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਜਾਨੁ ਬਸੰਤ ਖਿਲਾਰੇ ॥
gir gir pare subhatt ran manddal jaan basant khilaare |

In the battlefield, the warriors are lying down, as if they are sleeping after playing Holi (Spring).

ਉਠਿ ਉਠਿ ਭਏ ਜੁਧ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਿ ਰੋਹ ਭਰੇ ਰਜਵਾਰੇ ॥
autth utth bhe judh kau praapat roh bhare rajavaare |

The warriors fallen in the battlefield were looking like the flowers scattered in the spring

ਭਖਿ ਭਖਿ ਬੀਰ ਪੀਸ ਦਾਤਨ ਕਹ ਰਣ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥
bhakh bhakh beer pees daatan kah ran manddalee hakaare |

Warriors (like coals) ravenously and gnashing their teeth scurry across the battlefield.

ਬਰਛੀ ਬਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਜਾਇਧੁ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰੇ ॥
barachhee baan kripaan gajaaeidh asatr sasatr sanbhaare |

The proud kings, getting up again, were fighting and were challenging their gathering of warriors shouting and grinding their teeth

ਭਸਮੀ ਭੂਤ ਭਏ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਗਣ ਦਾਝਤ ਦੇਵ ਪੁਕਾਰੇ ॥
bhasamee bhoot bhe gandhrab gan daajhat dev pukaare |

The gana gandharbs are consumed and the devas call out as they burn.

ਹਮ ਮਤ ਮੰਦ ਚਰਣ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਕਾਹਿ ਨ ਲੇਤ ਉਬਾਰੇ ॥੧੦੩॥
ham mat mand charan saranaagat kaeh na let ubaare |103|

The Gandharvas while fighting with lances, arrows, swords and other arms and weapons, rolling in dust, shouted to the gods, saying “O Lord! we are under your refuge, why do you save up?”29.103.

MARU

ਦੋਊ ਦਿਸ ਸੁਭਟ ਜਬੈ ਜੁਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
doaoo dis subhatt jabai jur aae |

When the warriors from both sides came together.

ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਢੋਲ ਮ੍ਰਿਦੰਗ ਬਜਤ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਾਵਨ ਮੇਘ ਲਜਾਏ ॥
dundabh dtol mridang bajat sun saavan megh lajaae |

When the warriors rushed to fight from both the directions and confronted one another then, listening to the sound of drums and kettledrums, the clouds of Sawan felt shy

ਦੇਖਨ ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਮਹਾ ਹਵ ਚੜੇ ਬਿਮਾਨ ਸੁਹਾਏ ॥
dekhan dev adev mahaa hav charre bimaan suhaae |

The gods and demons ascended their air-vehicles in order to see the war

ਕੰਚਨ ਜਟਤ ਖਚੇ ਰਤਨਨ ਲਖਿ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਨਗਰ ਰਿਸਾਏ ॥
kanchan jattat khache ratanan lakh gandhrab nagar risaae |

Seeing the articles studded with gold and gems, the gandharvas got enraged,

ਕਾਛਿ ਕਛਿ ਕਾਛ ਕਛੇ ਕਛਨੀ ਚੜਿ ਕੋਪ ਭਰੇ ਨਿਜਕਾਏ ॥
kaachh kachh kaachh kachhe kachhanee charr kop bhare nijakaae |

And in their fury began to chop the fighters dreadful war

ਕੋਊ ਕੋਊ ਰਹੇ ਸੁਭਟ ਰਣ ਮੰਡਲਿ ਕੇਈ ਕੇਈ ਛਾਡਿ ਪਰਾਏ ॥
koaoo koaoo rahe subhatt ran manddal keee keee chhaadd paraae |

Very few warriors survived in the battlefield and many adandoned the fighting and ran away

ਝਿਮਝਿਮ ਮਹਾ ਮੇਘ ਪਰਲੈ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਬ੍ਰਿੰਦ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਬਰਸਾਏ ॥
jhimajhim mahaa megh paralai jayon brind bisikh barasaae |

The arrows were being showered like the rain-drops from the clouds on the doomsday

ਐਸੋ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਬਡੇ ਕਵਤਕ ਕਹ ਪਾਰਸ ਆਪ ਸਿਧਾਏ ॥੧੦੪॥
aaiso nirakh badde kavatak kah paaras aap sidhaae |104|

Parasnath himself reached there in order to see this wonderful war.30.104.

ਬਿਸਨਪਦ ॥ ਭੈਰੋ ॥ ਤ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

BHAIRAV VISHNUPADA BY THE GRACE

ਦੈ ਰੇ ਦੈ ਰੇ ਦੀਹ ਦਮਾਮਾ ॥
dai re dai re deeh damaamaa |

The big horn sounds incessantly.

ਕਰਹੌ ਰੁੰਡ ਮੁੰਡ ਬਸੁਧਾ ਪਰ ਲਖਤ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਕੀ ਬਾਮਾ ॥
karahau rundd mundd basudhaa par lakhat svarag kee baamaa |

He said, “Strike on the trumpets and within the view of these heavenly damsels, I shall devastate the whole earth

ਧੁਕਿ ਧੁਕਿ ਪਰਹਿ ਧਰਣਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਭਟ ਬੀਰ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਰਜਾਊ ॥
dhuk dhuk pareh dharan bhaaree bhatt beer baitaal rajaaoo |

“This earth will throb and tremble and I shall satisfy the hunger of Vaitals etc.

ਭੂਤ ਪਿਸਾਚ ਡਾਕਣੀ ਜੋਗਣ ਕਾਕਣ ਰੁਹਰ ਪਿਵਾਊ ॥
bhoot pisaach ddaakanee jogan kaakan ruhar pivaaoo |

I shall cause the ghosts, fiends, Dakinis, Yoginis and Kakinis to drink blood to their fill

ਭਕਿ ਭਕਿ ਉਠੇ ਭੀਮ ਭੈਰੋ ਰਣਿ ਅਰਧ ਉਰਧ ਸੰਘਾਰੋ ॥
bhak bhak utthe bheem bhairo ran aradh uradh sanghaaro |

“I shall destroy everything up and down in all the directions and many Bhairavas will appear in this war

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਚੰਦ ਸੂਰਜ ਬਰਣਾਦਿਕ ਆਜ ਸਭੈ ਚੁਨਿ ਮਾਰੋ ॥
eindr chand sooraj baranaadik aaj sabhai chun maaro |

I shall kill even today Indra, Chandra, Surya, Varuna etc. by picking them up

ਮੋਹਿ ਬਰ ਦਾਨ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਦੀਨਾ ਜਿਹ ਸਰਿ ਅਉਰ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
mohi bar daan devataa deenaa jih sar aaur na koee |

“I have been blessed with boon by that Lord, who has no second to Him

ਮੈ ਹੀ ਭਯੋ ਜਗਤ ਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੋ ਮੈ ਕਰੌ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥੧੦੫॥
mai hee bhayo jagat ko karataa jo mai karau su hoee |105|

I am the creator of the world and whatever I shall do, that will happen.31.105.

ਬਿਸਨਪਦ ॥ ਗਉਰੀ ॥ ਤ੍ਵਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਥਤਾ ॥
bisanapad | gauree | tvaprasaad kathataa |

VISHNUPADA WITH THY GRACE Saying in Gauri :

ਮੋ ਤੇ ਅਉਰ ਬਲੀ ਕੋ ਹੈ ॥
mo te aaur balee ko hai |

Who is stronger than me?

ਜਉਨ ਮੋ ਤੇ ਜੰਗ ਜੀਤੇ ਜੁਧ ਮੈ ਕਰ ਜੈ ॥
jaun mo te jang jeete judh mai kar jai |

“Who I more powerful than me. Who will become victorious over me?

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਚੰਦ ਉਪਿੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੌ ਪਲ ਮਧਿ ਜੀਤੌ ਜਾਇ ॥
eindr chand upindr kau pal madh jeetau jaae |

“I shall conquer even Indra, Chanddra, Upendra in an instant

ਅਉਰ ਐਸੋ ਕੋ ਭਯੋ ਰਣ ਮੋਹਿ ਜੀਤੇ ਆਇ ॥
aaur aaiso ko bhayo ran mohi jeete aae |

Who is there anyone else who will come to fight with me

ਸਾਤ ਸਿੰਧ ਸੁਕਾਇ ਡਾਰੋ ਨੈਕੁ ਰੋਸੁ ਕਰੋ ॥
saat sindh sukaae ddaaro naik ros karo |

(If I) get as angry as Rata, I will dry up the seven oceans.

ਜਛ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਰ ਕੋਰ ਕਰੋਰ ਮੋਰਿ ਧਰੋ ॥
jachh gandhrab kinr kor karor mor dharo |

“On getting slightly angry, I can dry up all the seven oceans and can throw away by twisting crores of Yakshas, gandharvas and Kinnars

ਦੇਵ ਔਰ ਅਦੇਵ ਜੀਤੇ ਕਰੇ ਸਬੈ ਗੁਲਾਮ ॥
dev aauar adev jeete kare sabai gulaam |

All the gods and demons have been enslaved.

ਦਿਬ ਦਾਨ ਦਯੋ ਮੁਝੈ ਛੁਐ ਸਕੈ ਕੋ ਮੁਹਿ ਛਾਮ ॥੧੦੬॥
dib daan dayo mujhai chhuaai sakai ko muhi chhaam |106|

“I have conquered and enslaved all the gods and demons, I have been blessed by the Divine Power and who is there who can even touch my shadow.”32.106.

VISHNUPADA MARU

ਯੌ ਕਹਿ ਪਾਰਸ ਰੋਸ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
yau keh paaras ros badtaayo |

By saying this, Paras (Nath) increased his anger.

ਦੁੰਦਭਿ ਢੋਲ ਬਜਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸਨਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
dundabh dtol bajaae mahaa dhun saamuhi sanayaasan dhaayo |

Saying thus, Parasnath was greatly infuriated and he came in front of the Sannyasis

ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਨਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਛਡੈ ਬਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਘ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
asatr sasatr naanaa bidh chhaddai baan prayogh chalaae |

Weapons and armor are various types of sticks and arrows.

ਸੁਭਟ ਸਨਾਹਿ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਦਲ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਬਾਨਨ ਬੇਧਿ ਉਡਾਏ ॥
subhatt sanaeh patr chaladal jayon baanan bedh uddaae |

He struk blows of arms and weapons in various ways and pierced the armours of the warriors with his arrows like the leaves

ਦੁਹਦਿਸ ਬਾਨ ਪਾਨ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੇ ਦਿਨਪਤਿ ਦੇਹ ਦੁਰਾਨਾ ॥
duhadis baan paan te chhootte dinapat deh duraanaa |

The arrows were discharged from sides, which caused the concealment of the sun

ਭੂਮਿ ਅਕਾਸ ਏਕ ਜਨੁ ਹੁਐ ਗਏ ਚਾਲ ਚਹੂੰ ਚਕ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
bhoom akaas ek jan huaai ge chaal chahoon chak maanaa |

It appeared that the earth and the sky had become one

ਇੰਦਰ ਚੰਦ੍ਰ ਮੁਨਿਵਰ ਸਬ ਕਾਪੇ ਬਸੁ ਦਿਗਿਪਾਲ ਡਰਾਨੀਯ ॥
eindar chandr munivar sab kaape bas digipaal ddaraaneey |

Indra, Chandra, the great sages, Dikpals etc., all trembled with fear

ਬਰਨ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਛਾਡਿ ਪੁਰ ਭਾਜੇ ਦੁਤੀਯ ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀਯ ॥੧੦੭॥
baran kuber chhaadd pur bhaaje duteey pralai kar maaneey |107|

Varuna and Kuber etc., also feeling the presence of second doomsday, left their own abodes and ran away.33.107.

VISHNUPADA MARU

ਸੁਰਪੁਰ ਨਾਰਿ ਬਧਾਵਾ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
surapur naar badhaavaa maanaa |

The women of heaven rejoiced greatly

ਬਰਿ ਹੈ ਆਜ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਭਟਨ ਕੌ ਸਮਰ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
bar hai aaj mahaa subhattan kau samar suyanbar jaanaa |

The heavenly damsels began to sing songs of felicitation thinking that they would be wedding the great warriors in that swayamvara of war

ਲਖਿ ਹੈ ਏਕ ਪਾਇ ਠਾਢੀ ਹਮ ਜਿਮ ਜਿਮ ਸੁਭਟ ਜੁਝੈ ਹੈ ॥
lakh hai ek paae tthaadtee ham jim jim subhatt jujhai hai |

Standing on one foot we shall watch as the warriors fight,

ਤਿਮ ਤਿਮ ਘਾਲਿ ਪਾਲਕੀ ਆਪਨ ਅਮਰਪੁਰੀ ਲੈ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
tim tim ghaal paalakee aapan amarapuree lai jai hai |

That they would stand on one foot and observe the warriors fighting and immediately take them to heaven, causing them to sit in their palanquins

ਚੰਦਨ ਚਾਰੁ ਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਚੰਦਨ ਕੇ ਚੰਚਲ ਅੰਗ ਚੜਾਊ ॥
chandan chaar chitr chandan ke chanchal ang charraaoo |

(On that day) I will make beautiful pictures of sandalwood and apply them on a beautiful body like sandalwood

ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਮਰ ਸੁਅੰਬਰ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਪਰਮ ਪਿਅਰ ਵਹਿ ਪਾਊ ॥
jaa din samar suanbar kar kai param piar veh paaoo |

The day on which they would come into contact with their beloved one, on that day they would decorated with sandal their pretty limbs

ਤਾ ਦਿਨ ਦੇਹ ਸਫਲ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੋ ਅੰਗ ਸੀਂਗਾਰ ਧਰੋ ॥
taa din deh safal kar maano ang seengaar dharo |

On that day, the body will be considered successful and the limbs will be decorated.

ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਸਮਰ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਸਖੀ ਰੀ ਪਾਰਸ ਨਾਥ ਬਰੋ ॥੧੦੮॥
jaa din samar suyanbar sakhee ree paaras naath baro |108|

O friend! the day on which they would wed Parasnath, on that day they would consider their body as fruitful and then embellish it.34.108.
