savachh nares kahiyo har siau apune bal kop ayodhan mai |In Ran-Bhumi, Swachh Singh, angry with his strength, said to Krishna
ਅਬ ਤੈ ਦਸ ਭੂਪ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਵੰਡ ਨ ਰੰਚਕ ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਕੀਯੋ ਮਨ ਮੈ ॥
ab tai das bhoop hane balavandd na ranchak traas keeyo man mai |On getting furious, with great strength the king Svachh Singh said to Krishna, “You have already killed fearlessly the ten Kings"
ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਕੀ ਓਰ ਤੇ ਤੀਰ ਚਲੈ ਬਰਖਾ ਜਿਮ ਸਾਵਨ ਕੇ ਘਨ ਮੈ ॥
jadubeer kee or te teer chalai barakhaa jim saavan ke ghan mai |(At that time) arrows are shot by Krishna like rain from the change of soap.
ਸਰ ਪਉਨ ਕੇ ਜੋਰ ਲਗੇ ਨ ਟਰਿਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਜਿਉ ਥਿਰੁ ਠਾਢੋ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ॥੧੨੭੮॥
sar paun ke jor lage na ttario gir jiau thir tthaadto rahiyo ran mai |1278|From the side of Krishna, the arrows were being showered like the raining clouds of the month of Sawan, but the king Svachh Singh did not even move slightly by the swiftness of arrows and resisted in the battlefield like a mountain.1278.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਜਦੁ ਬੰਸਨ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਲਰਿਯੋ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਸਵ ਸਿਉ ਜੰਭ ॥
jad bansan so at lariyo jiau baasav siau janbh |The king fought with the Yadavas like Indra with Jambhasura
ਅਚਲ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਤਿਹ ਠਉਰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਜਿਉ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਰਨ ਖੰਭ ॥੧੨੭੯॥
achal rahiyo tih tthaur nrip jiau ran mai ran khanbh |1279|The king stood stable in the battlefield like a column.1279.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਜਿਉ ਨ ਹਲੈ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੋ ਅਤਿ ਹਾਥਨ ਕੋ ਬਲ ਕੋਊ ਕਰੈ ॥
jiau na halai gir kanchan ko at haathan ko bal koaoo karai |As Sumer Parbat does not move, (even) no matter how much force is applied with the hand.
ਅਰੁ ਜਿਉ ਧ੍ਰੂ ਲੋਕ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਕਹੂੰ ਸਿਵ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜਿਉ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਚਰੈ ॥
ar jiau dhraoo lok chalai na kahoon siv moorat jiau kabahoon na charai |Just as the Sumeru mountain is not moved with the strength of the elephants, just as the abode of Dhurva remains firm and the portrait of Shiva does not eat anything
ਬਰ ਜਿਉ ਨ ਸਤੀ ਸਤਿ ਛਾਡਿ ਪਤਿਬ੍ਰਤਿ ਜਿਉ ਸਿਧ ਜੋਗ ਮੈ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਧਰੈ ॥
bar jiau na satee sat chhaadd patibrat jiau sidh jog mai dhayaan dharai |As the best Sati does not leave Sat and Pratibrata Dharma and as Siddhas remain focused in Yoga.
ਤਿਮ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚਮੂੰ ਮਧਿ ਸਵਛ ਨਰੇਸ ਹਠੀ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਟਰੈ ॥੧੨੮੦॥
tim sayaam chamoon madh savachh nares hatthee ran te nahee naik ttarai |1280|Just as the faithful wife does not swerve from her chastity and the adepts ever remain absorbed in their meditation, in the same manner the persistent Svachh Singh is standing amidst the four divisions of the army of Krishna, standing quite steadily.1280.
ਕਬਿਤੁ ॥

ਫੇਰਿ ਤਿਨ ਕੋਪਿ ਕੈ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਮੈ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਬੀਰ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਸਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਹਾ ਬਲ ਸੈ ॥
fer tin kop kai ayodhan mai sayaam keh beer bahu maare savachh singh mahaa bal sai |Then the mighty Svachh Singh in great fury, killed many of the mighty warriors of the army of Krishna
ਅਤਿਰਥੀ ਸਤਿ ਮਹਾਰਥੀ ਜੁਗ ਸਤਿ ਤਹਾ ਸਿੰਧੁਰ ਹਜਾਰ ਹਨੇ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਕੇ ਦਲ ਸੈ ॥
atirathee sat mahaarathee jug sat tahaa sindhur hajaar hane sayaam joo ke dal sai |He killed seven great chariot-owners and fourteen supreme chariot-owners, he also killed thousands of elephants
ਘਨੇ ਬਾਜ ਮਾਰੇ ਰਨਿ ਪੈਦਲ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਭਈ ਰੁਧਰ ਰੰਗੀਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਲਹਰੈ ਉਛਲ ਸੈ ॥
ghane baaj maare ran paidal sanghaare bhee rudhar rangeen bhoom laharai uchhal sai |He killed many horses and soldiers on foot, the ground was dyed with blood and the waves of blood surged there
ਘਾਇਲ ਗਿਰੇ ਸੁ ਮਾਨੋ ਮਹਾ ਮਤਵਾਰੇ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੈ ਸੋਏ ਰੂਮੀ ਤਰੈ ਲਾਲ ਡਾਰ ਕੈ ਅਤਲਸੈ ॥੧੨੮੧॥
ghaaeil gire su maano mahaa matavaare hvai kai soe roomee tarai laal ddaar kai atalasai |1281|The wounded warriors fell down there, getting intoxicated and looked like those sleeping after sprinkling the pearls of blood.1281.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਬਹੁਤ ਸੈਨ ਹਨਿ ਜਾਦਵੀ ਬਢਿਯੋ ਗਰਬ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
bahut sain han jaadavee badtiyo garab apaar |The pride of Svachh Singh was increased very much after killing a greater part of Yadava army
ਮਾਨੁ ਉਤਾਰਿਯੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਬੋਲਿਓ ਕੋਪ ਹਕਾਰਿ ॥੧੨੮੨॥
maan utaariyo krisan prat bolio kop hakaar |1282|He spoke egoistically with Krishna.1282.
ਕਹਾ ਭਯੋ ਜੋ ਭੂਪ ਦਸ ਮਾਰੇ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਰਿਸਾਇ ॥
kahaa bhayo jo bhoop das maare sayaam risaae |O Krishna! What happened, if you got angry and killed ten kings.
ਜਿਉ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਬਨ ਤਿਨ ਭਛ ਕਰ ਲਰੇ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਸਮੁਹਾਇ ॥੧੨੮੩॥
jiau mrig ban tin bhachh kar lare na har samuhaae |1283|“O Krishna! what, then, even if you have killed ten of the kings, it is just like this that the deer can eat the straws of the forest, but can’t confront the lion.”1283.
ਰਿਪੁ ਕੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨੰਤ ਹੀ ਬੋਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ॥
rip ke bachan sunant hee bole har musakaae |Hearing the words of the enemy, Sri Krishna started laughing and said,
ਸਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਤੁਅ ਮਾਰਿ ਹੋ ਸ੍ਰਯਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੀ ਨਯਾਇ ॥੧੨੮੪॥
savachh singh tua maar ho srayaar singh kee nayaae |1284|Hearing the words of the enemy, Krishna smiled and said, ”O Svachh Singh! I shall kill you just as a lion kills a jackal.”1284.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਸਿੰਘ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਕੈ ਜਿਉ ਸਰਦੂਲ ਘਨੋ ਬਲ ਕੈ ਰਿਸ ਸਾਥਿ ਤਚਾਯੋ ॥
singh nihaar kai jiau saradool ghano bal kai ris saath tachaayo |Just as a big lion, seeing a small lion, gets infuriated
ਜਿਉ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਲਖਿਯੋ ਬਨ ਮੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਰਾਜ ਮਨੋ ਅਤਿ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
jiau gajaraaj lakhiyo ban mai mrigaraaj mano at kop badtaayo |Just as seeing the king of elephants, the king of deer gets angry
ਜਿਉ ਚਿਤਵਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਪੇਖ ਕੈ ਦਉਰਤ ਸਵਛ ਨਰੇਸ ਪੈ ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
jiau chitavaa mrig pekh kai daurat savachh nares pai tiau har dhaayo |Just as seeing the deer, the leopard falls upon them, in the same manner, Krishna fell upon Svachh Singh
ਪਉਨ ਕੇ ਗਉਨ ਤੇ ਆਗੇ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਰਥੁ ਦਾਰੁਕ ਐਸੇ ਧਵਾਯੋ ॥੧੨੮੫॥
paun ke gaun te aage chaliyo har ko rath daaruk aaise dhavaayo |1285|On this side, Daruk in order to leave behing the spped of the wind, drove away the chariot of Krishna.1285.
ਉਤ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਸਵਛ ਭਯੋ ਸਮੁਹੇ ਇਤ ਤੇ ਸੁ ਚਲਿਯੋ ਰਿਸ ਕੈ ਬਲ ਭਈਯਾ ॥
aut te nrip savachh bhayo samuhe it te su chaliyo ris kai bal bheeyaa |From that side, Svachh Singh came forward and from this side, Krishna, the brother of Balram marched forward in anger
ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲਰੇ ਦੋਊ ਆਪਸਿ ਮੈ ਬਰ ਜੁਧੁ ਕਰਈਯਾ ॥
baan kamaan kripaan lare doaoo aapas mai bar judh kareeyaa |Both the warriors began to fight taking their bows, arrows and swords in their hands, both were enduring,
ਮਾਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ਅਰੇ ਨ ਟਰੇ ਰਨ ਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਧੀਰ ਧਰਈਯਾ ॥
maar hee maar pukaar are na ttare ran te at dheer dhareeyaa |Both of them shouted “Kill, Kill” but they kept resisting in front of each other and did not swerve even slightly
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਤੇ ਰਾਮ ਤੇ ਜਾਦਵ ਤੇ ਨ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਲਰਿਯੋ ਬਰ ਬੀਰ ਲਰਈਯਾ ॥੧੨੮੬॥
sayaam te raam te jaadav te na ddariyo su lariyo bar beer lareeyaa |1286|Svachh Singh was neither feared Krishna nor Balram nor from any of the Yadavas.1286.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਅਧਿਕ ਜੁਧੁ ਜਬ ਤਿਨ ਕੀਯੋ ਤਬ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਪਤਿ ਕਾ ਕੀਨ ॥
adhik judh jab tin keeyo tab brijapat kaa keen |What did Krishna do when he had fought so much?
ਖੜਗ ਧਾਰਿ ਸਿਰ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਕੋ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੁਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਦੀਨ ॥੧੨੮੭॥
kharrag dhaar sir satr ko maar judaa kar deen |1287|When he waged a dreadful war, Krishna severed his head from the trunk with the blow of his spear.1287.
ਸਵਛ ਸਿੰਘ ਜਬ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ਸਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੀਓ ਕੋਪ ॥
savachh singh jab maariyo samar singh keeo kop |When Svachh Singh was killed, then Samar Singh was extremely enraged
ਨਹ ਭਾਜਿਯੋ ਲਖਿ ਸਮਰ ਕੋ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਸੁ ਦਿੜ ਪਗੁ ਰੋਪਿ ॥੧੨੮੮॥
nah bhaajiyo lakh samar ko rahiyo su dirr pag rop |1288|Seeing the war, hes resisted Krishna with firm feet.1288.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਰੋਸ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਬਲੀ ਅਸਿ ਲੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਭਟ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਜਦੁਬੀਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
ros kai beer balee as lai at hee bhatt sree jadubeer ke maare |Taking his sword in his hand, that mighty warrior killed many warriors of Krishna
ਅਉਰ ਕਿਤੇ ਗਿਰੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਿਤਨੇ ਰਨ ਭੂਮਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥
aaur kite gire ghaaeil hvai kitane ran bhoom nihaar padhaare |Many warriors were wounded and many of them fled away suffering defeat in the battlefield
ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਜੂ ਪੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਮਰੇਸ ਬਲੀ ਤਿਹ ਤੇ ਹਮ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
sayaam joo pai ih bhaat kahiyo samares balee tih te ham haare |(They) went to Krishnaji and said that we have been defeated by Samar Singh.
ਕਾਸੀ ਮੈ ਜਿਉ ਕਲਵਤ੍ਰ ਵਹੈ ਤਿਮ ਬੀਰਨ ਚੀਰ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਡਾਰੇ ॥੧੨੮੯॥
kaasee mai jiau kalavatr vahai tim beeran cheer ke dvai kar ddaare |1289|The warriors shouted loudly, “We are being defeated by the mighty Samar Singh because he continues to shop into halves the warriors like the chopping saw of Kashi.1289.
ਬੋਲਿ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਦਲ ਮੈ ਭਟ ਹੈ ਕੋਊ ਜੋ ਅਰਿ ਸੰਗ ਲਰੈ ॥
bol kahiyo har joo dal mai bhatt hai koaoo jo ar sang larai |Krishna ji said that there is a warrior in the army who fights with the enemy.
