ਘਨਜ ਸਬਦ ਕੋ ਉਚਰਿ ਕੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

ghanaj sabad ko uchar kai dhun pad bahur bakhaan |

By saying the word 'Ghanaj' (first), then add the word 'Dhuni'. (These) are all names of arrows.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੋ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੦੫॥

sakal naam sree baan ke leejo chatur pachhaan |205|

Saying the word “Dhanaj” and then adding the world “Dhan”, all the names of Baan are recognized by the clever persons.205.

ਮਤਸ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਅਛ ਸਬਦ ਪੁਨਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

matas sabad prithamai uchar achh sabad pun dehu |

First pronounce the word 'mats' (fish) and then add the word 'achh' (eye).

ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨੀਯੈ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਲਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੦੬॥

ar pad bahur bakhaaneeyai naam baan lakh lehu |206|

Uttering the word “Maker” in the beginning, then saying and adding the words “Aksh and Ari”, all the names of Baan are known.206.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਮੀਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਚਖੁ ਰਿਪੁ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

pritham meen ko naam lai chakh rip bahur bakhaan |

First take the names of 'Meen', then say the word 'Chakhu Ripu'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੦੭॥

sakal naam sree baan ke leejahu chatur pachhaan |207|

Uttering the names of “Meen” (fish) in the beginning, then saying the word Chakshu, all the names of Baan are known207.

ਮਕਰ ਸਬਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੈ ਉਚਰਿ ਚਖੁ ਰਿਪੁ ਬਹੁਰ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

makar sabad prithamai uchar chakh rip bahur bakhaan |

First say the word 'Makar', then recite 'Chakhu Ripu Pada' always.

ਸਬੈ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੋ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੦੮॥

Saying the word “Makar” primarily, then adding the word “Chakshu”, O wise people! recognize all the names of Baan.208.

ਝਖ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਚਖੁ ਰਿਪੁ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

jhakh pad pritham bakhaan kai chakh rip bahur bakhaan |

First say the word 'jhak' and then say 'chakhu ripu' (word).

ਸਭੇ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੈ ਚਤੁਰ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੦੯॥

sabhe naam sree baan ke leejai chatur pachhaan |209|

Recognise all names of Baan, by uttering the word “Jhakh” in the beginning and then adding the word “Chakshu”.209.

ਸਫਰੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

safaree netr bakhaan kai ar pad bahur uchaar |

(First) say 'Safari Netra' and then pronounce the word 'Ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੋ ਸੁ ਕਵਿ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ॥੨੧੦॥

sakal naam sree baan ke leejo su kav su dhaar |210|

Saying the words “Safri (fish) and Netar” then uttering the word “Ari”, O poets! Comprehend all the names of Baan correctly.210.

ਮਛਰੀ ਚਛੁ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

machharee chachh bakhaan kai ar pad bahur uchaar |

(First) say 'machhari chachu' and then add the word 'ari'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੋ ਚਤੁਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ॥੨੧੧॥

naam sakal sree baan ke leejo chatur sudhaar |211|

Comprehend all the names of Baan correctly by uttering “Matsuachakshu” and the saying the word “Ari”.211.

ਜਲਚਰ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਬਖਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਚਖੁ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

jalachar pritham bakhaan kai chakh pad bahur bakhaan |

Say 'jalchar' first, then pronounce the word 'chakhu'.

ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਪਛਾਨ ॥੨੧੨॥

Recognise all the names of Baan by saying “Jalchar” in the beginning, then adding and uttering the words “Chakshu and Ari”.212.

ਬਕਤ੍ਰਾਗਜ ਪਦ ਉਚਰਿ ਕੈ ਮੀਨ ਸਬਦ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

bakatraagaj pad uchar kai meen sabad ar dehu |

(First) say the word 'baktragja' (the one before the mouth, eye) and then add the words 'meen' and 'ari'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਿਲੀਮੁਖ ਕੇ ਸਭੈ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੧੩॥

naam sileemukh ke sabhai cheen chatur chit lehu |213|

O wise people! recognize all the names of Baan by uttering the word “Baktraagaj” and then adding the word Meen.213.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਮੀਨ ਕੇ ਕੇਤੁ ਸਬਦ ਪੁਨਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

pritham naam lai meen ke ket sabad pun dehu |

First take the name of 'Pisces' and then add the word 'Ketu'.

ਚਖੁ ਕਹਿ ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਚੀਨ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੧੪॥

chakh keh ar keh baan ke naam cheen chit lehu |214|

Uttering the names of “Meen” in the beginning, then adding and saying the words “Ketu, Chakshu and Ari”, all the names of Baan are recognized in mind.214.

ਸੰਬਰਾਰਿ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਕਹਿ ਚਖੁ ਧੁਜ ਪਦ ਪੁਨਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

sanbaraar pad pritham keh chakh dhuj pad pun dehu |

First recite the word 'Sambarari', then pronounce the words 'Dhuj' and 'Chakhu'.

ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੧੫॥

ar keh sabh hee baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |215|

O wise people! Recognise the names of Baan by uttering the words “Sambrari” in the beginning and then saying and adding the words “Chakshu-dhvaj and Ari”.215.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਪਿਨਾਕੀ ਪਦ ਉਚਰਿ ਅਰਿ ਧੁਜ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਾਰਿ ॥

pritham pinaakee pad uchar ar dhuj netr uchaar |

First pronounce the word 'Pinaki', (then) add the words 'Ari' 'Dhuj' and 'Netra'.

ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਨਾਮ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ॥੨੧੬॥

ar keh sabh hee baan ke leejahu naam su dhaar |216|

Uttering the word “Pinaaki” primarily, then adding and saying the words “Ari”, Dhvaj, Netar and Ari”, all the names of Baan are spoken correctly.216.

ਮਹਾਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਅਰਿਧੁਜ ਉਚਰਿ ਪੁਨਿ ਪਦ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

mahaarudr aridhuj uchar pun pad netr bakhaan |

First recite the pada 'Maharudra Aridhuja', then recite the pada 'Netra'.

ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ ॥੨੧੭॥

ar keh sabh sree baan ke naam hridai pahichaan |217|

Recognise all the names of Baan in your mind by saying the words Maha-Rudra and Aridhvaj” and then uttering the word “Netar”.217.

ਤ੍ਰਿਪੁਰਾਤਕ ਅਰਿ ਕੇਤੁ ਕਹਿ ਚਖੁ ਅਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥

tripuraatak ar ket keh chakh ar bahur uchaar |

First say 'Tripurantak Ari Ketu' and then add the word 'Chakhu Ari'.

ਨਾਮ ਸਕਲ ਏ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਸੁਕਬਿ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ॥੨੧੮॥

naam sakal e baan ke leejahu sukab su dhaar |218|

If after saying the words “Tripurantak and Ariketu” and then uttering “Chakshu-ari”, then the poets know all the names of Baan correctly.218.

ਕਾਰਤਕੇਅ ਪਿਤੁ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਕਹਿ ਅਰਿ ਧੁਜ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਬਖਾਨਿ ॥

kaaratakea pit pritham keh ar dhuj netr bakhaan |

First say 'Kartakeya Pitu' then say 'Ari Dhuj Netra'.

ਅਰਿ ਪਦ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨੀਐ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਪਹਿਚਾਨ ॥੨੧੯॥

ar pad bahur bakhaaneeai naam baan pahichaan |219|

All the names of Baan are recognized by uttering the words “Kaartikya nd Pitra” in the beginning and then saying and adding the words “Ari-Dhvaj, Netar and Ari”.219.

ਬਿਰਲ ਬੈਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਬਾਰਹਾ ਬਹੁਲਾਤਕ ਬਲਵਾਨ ॥

biral bair kar baarahaa bahulaatak balavaan |

Biral Bari Kari (severer of enemies) perennial, versatile, strong,

ਬਰਣਾਤਕ ਬਲਹਾ ਬਿਸਿਖ ਬੀਰ ਪਤਨ ਬਰ ਬਾਨ ॥੨੨੦॥

baranaatak balahaa bisikh beer patan bar baan |220|

“Vairi, Vilarkar, Baar-ha, Bohlantak, Varnanaantak, Balha, Vishikh, Veerpatan etc.” are all spoken of as the names of Baan.220.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਸਲਲਿ ਕੌ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਧਰ ਅਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਬਖਾਨਿ ॥

pritham salal kau naam lai dhar ar bahur bakhaan |

First recite the name 'Salli', then 'Dhar' and 'Ari'.

ਕੇਤੁ ਚਛੁ ਅਰਿ ਉਚਰੀਯੈ ਨਾਮ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਜਾਨ ॥੨੨੧॥

ket chachh ar uchareeyai naam baan ke jaan |221|

Uttering the word “Salil” (water) in the beginning, saying and adding eh words “Dhar, Ari Ketu, Chakshu and Ari”, the names of Baan are known.221.

ਕਾਰਤਕੇਅ ਪਦ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਕਹਿ ਪਿਤੁ ਅਰਿ ਕੇਤੁ ਉਚਾਰਿ ॥

kaaratakea pad pritham keh pit ar ket uchaar |

First say the word 'Kartkeya', then pronounce 'Pitu', 'Ari' and 'Ketu'.

ਚਖੁ ਅਰਿ ਕਹਿ ਸਭ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਲੀਜਹੁ ਨਾਮ ਸੁ ਧਾਰ ॥੨੨੨॥

chakh ar keh sabh baan ke leejahu naam su dhaar |222|

All the names of Baan are spoken correctly by saying the word “Kaartikya in the beginning and then saying and adding the words “Pitra, Ari, Ketu, Chakshu and Ari” in serial order.222.

ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮ ਪਿਨਾਕੀ ਪਾਨਿ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਪੁ ਧੁਜ ਚਖੁ ਅਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

pritham pinaakee paan keh rip dhuj chakh ar dehu |

First say 'pinaki' and 'pani' and add the word 'ripu dhuj chakhu ari'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੨੩॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |223|

The wise people may comprehend all the names of Baan in their mind by uttering “Pinaaki-paani in the beginning and then adding Ripdhvaj and Chakshu.”223.

ਪਸੁ ਪਤਿ ਸੁਰਿਧਰ ਅਰਿ ਉਚਰਿ ਧੁਜ ਚਖੁ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਬਖਾਨ ॥

pas pat suridhar ar uchar dhuj chakh satru bakhaan |

(First) saying 'Pasu Pati' and 'Suridhar', then say 'Ari' and 'Dhuj Chakhu Satru'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਜਾਨ ॥੨੨੪॥

sakal naam sree baan ke chatur chit mai jaan |224|

Uttering the words “Pashupati, Surdhar and Ari” and then saying the words “Dhvaj-Chakshu and Shatru”, all the names of Baan are known by the wise people.224.

ਪਾਰਬਤੀਸ ਅਰਿ ਕੇਤੁ ਚਖੁ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਪੁ ਪੁਨਿ ਪਦ ਦੇਹੁ ॥

paarabatees ar ket chakh keh rip pun pad dehu |

Say 'parbatis ari ketu chakhu' and then add the word 'ripu'.

ਸਕਲ ਨਾਮ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਾਨ ਕੇ ਚੀਨ ਚਤੁਰ ਚਿਤਿ ਲੇਹੁ ॥੨੨੫॥

sakal naam sree baan ke cheen chatur chit lehu |225|

After uttering the words “Parvteesh, Ariketu and Chakshu and then adding the wrord “Ripu”, the wise people know all the names of Baan.225.

ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਾਗ ਸਾਮੁਹਿ ਚਲਤ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਮਾਨ ਕੋ ਖਾਪ ॥

sasatr saag saamuhi chalat satru maan ko khaap |

(Who) moves before Sastra Sang and destroys the pride of the enemy,

ਸਕਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟ ਜੀਤੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਜਪੀਅਤੁ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਪੁ ॥੨੨੬॥

sakal srisatt jeetee tisai japeeat taa ko jaap |226|

Even with the continued blows of the weapons and lances etc. on the front, the weapons which destroys the ego of the enemy, that has conquered the whole world I only utter its name in devotion.226.
