ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਬਢਨ ਕੇ ਕਾਜ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਜੂ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰੌ ॥
granth badtan ke kaaj sunahu joo chit mai adhik ddarau |To what extent should I describe it, because I fear the book will become voluminous,
ਤਉ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕਥਾ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਿ ਸੰਛੇਪ ਬਖਾਨੋ ॥
tau sudhaar bichaar kathaa keh keh sanchhep bakhaano |Therefore I am improving thoughtfully the story and describing it in brief
ਜੈਸੇ ਤਵ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਕੇ ਬਲ ਤੇ ਜਥਾ ਸਕਤਿ ਅਨੁਮਾਨੋ ॥
jaise tav prataap ke bal te jathaa sakat anumaano |I hope that with the strength of your wisdom, you will assess it accordingly
ਜਬ ਪਾਰਸ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਰਨ ਮੰਡ੍ਰਯੋ ਨਾਨਾ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
jab paaras ih bidh ran manddrayo naanaa sasatr chalaae |When Parasnath waged war in this way, using various types of weapons, then those who were killed were killed,
ਹਤੇ ਸੁ ਹਤੇ ਜੀਅ ਲੈ ਭਾਜੇ ਚਹੁੰ ਦਿਸ ਗਏ ਪਰਾਏ ॥

ਭੂਖਨ ਬਸਨ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਦੀਨੇ ਦੈ ਦੈ ਬਹੁਤ ਬਡਾਈ ॥੧੧੪॥

ਲੈ ਲੈ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਨਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਰਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
lai lai sasatr asatr naanaa bidh bhaat anik ar maare |He killed many enemies in various ways with his arms and weapons
ਜੀਤੇ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਾਰਸ ਕੇ ਸਗਲ ਜਟਾ ਧਰ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
jeete param purakh paaras ke sagal jattaa dhar haare |In the battle all the warriors of Parasnath were victorious and all those with matted locks were defeated
ਬੇਖ ਬੇਖ ਭਟ ਪਰੇ ਧਰਨ ਗਿਰਿ ਬਾਣ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਘਨ ਘਾਏ ॥
bekh bekh bhatt pare dharan gir baan prayoghan ghaae |With the infliction of arrows, the warriors wearing many garbs fell down upon the earth
ਜਾਨੁਕ ਪਰਮ ਲੋਕ ਪਾਵਨ ਕਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਨ ਪੰਖ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
jaanuk param lok paavan kahu praanan pankh lagaae |It appeared that they were preparing themselves to fly to the Supreme world attaching wings to their bodies
ਟੂਕ ਟੂਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਿਰੇ ਕਵਚ ਕਟਿ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਕਹੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
ttook ttook hvai gire kavach katt param prabhaa kahu paaee |The supremely impressive armours were torn into fragments and caused to fall down
ਜਣੁ ਦੈ ਚਲੇ ਨਿਸਾਣ ਸੁਰਗ ਕਹ ਕੁਲਹਿ ਕਲੰਕ ਮਿਟਾਈ ॥੧੧੫॥
jan dai chale nisaan surag kah kuleh kalank mittaaee |115|It appeared that the warriors were leaving the mark of blemish of their clan on the earth and moving towards heaven.41.115.

ਜਾਨੁਕ ਭਈ ਦੂਸਰ ਕਰਣਾਰਜੁਨ ਭਾਰਥ ਸੋ ਹੁਇ ਬੀਤੋ ॥
jaanuk bhee doosar karanaarajun bhaarath so hue beeto |Parasnath won the war and he appeared like Karan or Arjun
ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਚਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਹਿ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਕੇ ਰਥ ਗਜ ਅਸਵ ਬਹਾਏ ॥
bahu bidh chalai pravaeh sron ke rath gaj asav bahaae |Various streams of blood flowed and in that current the charious, horses and elephant also flowed
ਭੈ ਕਰ ਜਾਨ ਭਯੋ ਬਡ ਆਹਵ ਸਾਤ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਲਜਾਏ ॥
bhai kar jaan bhayo badd aahav saat samundar lajaae |All the seven ocean felt shy before that current of blood (of war)
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਚਲੇ ਭਾਜ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਾਣਨ ਅੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
jah tah chale bhaaj saniaasee baanan ang prahaare |Having been struck by the arrows on their limbs, the Sannyasis ran away hither and thither
ਜਾਨੁਕ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਭੈ ਤੇ ਪਬ ਸਪਛ ਸਿਧਾਰੇ ॥
jaanuk bajr indr ke bhai te pab sapachh sidhaare |Like the mounts flying away, getting fearful of Indra’s Vajra, attaching wings to themselves
ਜਿਹ ਤਿਹ ਗਿਰਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਅਰਿ ਘੂਮਤ ਭਿਭਰਾਤ ॥
jih tih girat sron kee dhaaraa ar ghoomat bhibharaat |The current of blood was flowing on all sides and the wounded warriors were roaming here and there
ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਭਜਤ ਦਸੋ ਦਿਸ ਜਾਤ ॥੧੧੬॥
nindaa karat chhatreey dharam kee bhajat daso dis jaat |116|They were running away in all the ten directions and were slandering the discipline of Kshatriyas.42.116.

ਜੇਤਕ ਜੀਅਤ ਬਚੇ ਸੰਨ੍ਯਾਸੀ ॥
jetak jeeat bache sanayaasee |As many ascetics survived,
ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਮਰਤ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਆਏ ਹੋਤ ਭਏ ਬਨਬਾਸੀ ॥
traas marat fir bahur na aae hot bhe banabaasee |Those Sannysis who survived, they did not return because of fear and went to the forest
ਦੇਸ ਬਿਦੇਸ ਢੂੰਢ ਬਨ ਬੇਹੜ ਤਹ ਤਹ ਪਕਰਿ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥
des bides dtoondt ban beharr tah tah pakar sanghaare |Finding them in countries, foreign countries, Banas, Bihars, they have caught them and killed them.
ਖੋਜਿ ਪਤਾਲ ਅਕਾਸ ਸੁਰਗ ਕਹੁ ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਚੁਨਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
khoj pataal akaas surag kahu jahaa tahaa chun maare |They were picked up from various countries and the forests and killed and searching for them in the sky and the nether-world, they were all destroyed
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਾਸ ਕਰੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਆਪਨ ਮਤਹ ਮਤਾਯੋ ॥
eih bidh naas kare saniaasee aapan matah mataayo |In this way he destroyed the sannyasis and lost his faith.
ਆਪਨ ਨ੍ਯਾਸ ਸਿਖਾਇ ਸਬਨ ਕਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਚਲਾਯੋ ॥
aapan nayaas sikhaae saban kahu aapan mantr chalaayo |In this way, killing the Sannyasis, Parasnath propagated his own sect and extended his own mode of worship
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਗਹੇ ਤਿਨ ਤੇ ਘਾਇਲ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਜਟਾ ਮੁੰਡਾਈ ॥
je je gahe tin te ghaaeil tin kee jattaa munddaaee |Those who were caught among them shaved off their locks.
ਦੋਹੀ ਦੂਰ ਦਤ ਕੀ ਕੀਨੀ ਆਪਨ ਫੇਰਿ ਦੁਹਾਈ ॥੧੧੭॥
dohee door dat kee keenee aapan fer duhaaee |117|The wounded ones, who were caught, their matted locks were shaved off and ending the impact of Dutt, Parasnath extended his his fame.117.

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਫਾਗ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਨ ਖੇਲੇ ॥
eih bidh faag kripaanan khele |In this way, Holi was played with the sword
ਸੋਭਤ ਢਾਲ ਮਾਲ ਡਫ ਮਾਲੈ ਮੂਠ ਗੁਲਾਲਨ ਸੇਲੇ ॥
sobhat dtaal maal ddaf maalai mootth gulaalan sele |The shields took the place of tabors and the blood became gulal (red colour)
ਜਾਨੁ ਤੁਫੰਗ ਭਰਤ ਪਿਚਕਾਰੀ ਸੂਰਨ ਅੰਗ ਲਗਾਵਤ ॥
jaan tufang bharat pichakaaree sooran ang lagaavat |The arrows were inflicted on the limbs of the warriors like the syringes
ਨਿਕਸਤ ਸ੍ਰੋਣ ਅਧਿਕ ਛਬਿ ਉਪਜਤ ਕੇਸਰ ਜਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ॥
nikasat sron adhik chhab upajat kesar jaan suhaavat |With the flowing out of blood, the beauty of the fighters increased as if they had splashed saffron on their limbs
ਸ੍ਰੋਣਤ ਭਰੀ ਜਟਾ ਅਤਿ ਸੋਭਤ ਛਬਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਕਹ੍ਯੋ ॥
sronat bharee jattaa at sobhat chhabeh na jaat kahayo |The glory of the matted locks saturated with blood is indescribable
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸੌ ਡਾਰ੍ਯੋ ਈਂਗਰ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹ੍ਯੋ ॥
maanahu param prem sau ddaarayo eengar laag rahayo |It appeared that with great love, the gulal was splashed in them
ਜਹ ਤਹ ਗਿਰਤ ਭਏ ਨਾਨਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਾਗਨ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਪਰੋਏ ॥
jah tah girat bhe naanaa bidh saagan satru paroe |Enemies killed with spears have fallen in various ways.
ਜਾਨੁਕ ਖੇਲ ਧਮਾਰ ਪਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਅਧਿਕ ਸ੍ਰਮਿਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਸੋਏ ॥੧੧੮॥
jaanuk khel dhamaar pasaar kai adhik sramit hvai soe |118|The enemies stringed with lances were lying hither and thither as if they had been sleeping after the tiring play of Holi.118.

ਦਸ ਸੈ ਬਰਖ ਰਾਜ ਤਿਨ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
das sai barakh raaj tin keenaa |He ruled for ten thousand years.
ਕੈ ਕੈ ਦੂਰ ਦਤ ਕੇ ਮਤ ਕਹੁ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗ ਦੋਊ ਲੀਨਾ ॥
kai kai door dat ke mat kahu raaj jog doaoo leenaa |In this way, Parasnath ruled for one thousand years and ending the sect of Dutt, he extended his Rajayoga
ਜੇ ਜੇ ਛਪੇ ਲੁਕੇ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਚੇ ਰਹਿ ਰਹਿ ਵਹੈ ਗਏ ॥
je je chhape luke kahoon baache reh reh vahai ge |Those who (Jatadhari) were hiding, they were the only ones left and they are the only ones left.
ਐਸੇ ਏਕ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਬੇ ਕੋ ਜਗ ਮੋ ਰਹਤ ਭਏ ॥
aaise ek naam laibe ko jag mo rahat bhe |He, who his himself, remained a follower of Dutt and lived without recognition
