ਰਾਜਤ ਜਾਹਿ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀ ਪਤਿ ਨੈਨ ਬਿਰਾਜਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਸਮ ਮਾਛੀ ॥
raajat jaeh mrigee pat nain biraajat sundar hai sam maachhee |Their eyes are beautiful like doe and their creation and features are like fish
ਸੋਭਿਤ ਹੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈ ਜਨੁ ਖੇਲਬੇ ਕਾਜਿ ਨਟੀ ਇਹ ਕਾਛੀ ॥
sobhit hai brij manddal mai jan khelabe kaaj nattee ih kaachhee |
ਦੇਖਨਿ ਹਾਰ ਕਿਧੌ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਿਖਾਵਤ ਭਾਵ ਹਮੈ ਹਿਯਾ ਆਛੀ ॥੪੫੩॥
dekhan haar kidhau bhagavaan dikhaavat bhaav hamai hiyaa aachhee |453|They are playful like the wandering female dancers of Braja and on the pretext of seeing Krishna, they are exhibiting charming gestures.453.
ਸੋਹਤ ਹੈ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਦ੍ਰਿਗ ਅੰਜਨ ਆਜੇ ॥
sohat hai sabh gopin ke kab sayaam kahai drig anjan aaje |The poet Shyam says that amidst all the gopis, Krishna is looking impressive, with antimony in his eyes
ਕਉਲਨ ਕੀ ਜਨੁ ਸੁਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸਾਨ ਕੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਮਾਜੇ ॥
kaulan kee jan sudh prabhaa sar sundar saan ke aoopar maaje |His beauty is being seen like the pure beauty of the lotus-flowers
ਬੈਠਿ ਘਰੀ ਇਕ ਮੈ ਚਤੁਰਾਨਨ ਮੈਨ ਕੇ ਤਾਤ ਬਨੇ ਕਸਿ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
baitth gharee ik mai chaturaanan main ke taat bane kas saaje |It seems that Brahma has created him as the brother of the god of love and he is so mush beautiful that he is even alluring the minds of Yogis
ਮੋਹਤਿ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਜੋਗਨ ਕੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਜੋਗਨ ਕੇ ਗਨ ਬੀਚ ਕਲਾ ਜੇ ॥੪੫੪॥
mohat hai man jogan ke fun jogan ke gan beech kalaa je |454|Krishna of unique beauty besieged by the gopis, appears like a gana besieged by the Yoginis.454.
ਠਾਢਿ ਹੈ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੋਊ ਮਹਿ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਕੋ ਅੰਤ ਮੁਨੀ ਨਹਿ ਬੂਝੇ ॥
tthaadt hai kaanrah soaoo meh gopin jaeh ko ant munee neh boojhe |
ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰੈ ਉਪਮਾ ਬਹੁ ਬਰਖਨ ਨੈਨਨ ਸੋ ਤਉ ਨੈਕੁ ਨ ਸੂਝੇ ॥
kott karai upamaa bahu barakhan nainan so tau naik na soojhe |The same Krishna is standing amidst gopis, whose end could not be comprehended by the sages, millions praise him for many years, still He cannot be comprehended a little with the eyes
ਤਾਹੀ ਕੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਲਖੈਬੇ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੂਰ ਘਨੈ ਰਨ ਭੀਤਰ ਜੂਝੇ ॥
taahee ke ant lakhaibe ke kaaran soor ghanai ran bheetar joojhe |In order to know His limits, many warriors have fought bravely in the battlefield
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਭੂਮਿ ਬਿਖੈ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਗਨ ਮੈ ਰਸ ਬੈਨ ਅਰੂਝੇ ॥੪੫੫॥
so brij bhoom bikhai bhagavaan treea gan mai ras bain aroojhe |455|And today the same Krishna is absorbed in amorous dialogue with the gopis in Braja.455.
ਕਾਨਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਕਟੈ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗਈਯਾ ॥
kaanar ke nikattai jab hee sabh hee gupeea mil sundar geeyaa |
ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਧਿ ਸਸਾਨਨ ਪੇਖਿ ਸਭੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਕੰਦ੍ਰਪ ਬੇਖ ਬਨਈਆ ॥
so har madh sasaanan pekh sabhai fun kandrap bekh baneea |When all the gopis reached near Krishna, they on seeing the moonface of Krishna, became one with the god of love
ਲੈ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਿਧੌ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਸਾਥ ਬਜਈਯਾ ॥
lai muralee apane kar kaanrah kidhau at hee hit saath bajeeyaa |
ਘੰਟਕ ਹੇਰਕ ਜਿਉ ਪਿਖ ਕੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਮੁਹਿ ਜਾਤ ਸੁ ਹੈ ਠਹਰਈਯਾ ॥੪੫੬॥
ghanttak herak jiau pikh kai mriganee muhi jaat su hai tthahareeyaa |456|When Krishna took his flute in his hand and played on it, all the gopis becam emotionless lke the deer listening to the sound of horn.456.
ਮਾਲਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਸੁਭ ਸਾਰੰਗ ਭਾਵਨ ਸਾਥ ਬਸਾਵੈ ॥
maalasiree ar raamakalee subh saarang bhaavan saath basaavai |
ਜੈਤਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਸੁਧ ਮਲਾਰ ਬਿਲਾਵਲ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਕੂਕ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ॥
jaitasiree ar sudh malaar bilaaval kee dhun kook sunaavai |Krishna then played the musical modes like Malshri, Ramkali, Sarang, jaitshri, Shuddh Malhar, Bilawal etc.
ਲੈ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕਿਧੌ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਹਿਤ ਸਾਥ ਬਜਾਵੈ ॥
lai muralee apune kar kaanrah kidhau at hee hit saath bajaavai |
ਪਉਨ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਰਹੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਥਿਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੈ ਧੁਨਿ ਜੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੪੫੭॥
paun chalai na rahai jamunaa thir mohi rahai dhun jo sun paavai |457|The wind also became motionless on listening to the lovely tunes from the flute of Krishna and Yamuna also seemed to stop in fascination.457.
ਸੁਨ ਕੇ ਮੁਰਲੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਕਾਨਰ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਸੁਧਿ ਛੁਟੀ ॥
sun ke muralee dhun kaanar kee sabh gopin kee sabh sudh chhuttee |Listening to the sound of the flute of Krishna, all the gopis lost their consciousness
ਸਭ ਛਾਡਿ ਚਲੀ ਅਪਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਹੀ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਾਥ ਜੁਟੀ ॥
sabh chhaadd chalee apane grih kaaraj kaanrah hee kee dhun saath juttee |They abandoned their house-work, having been absorbed in the tune of the flute of Krishna the poet Shyam says that at this time Krishna appeared like the deluder-lord of all and the duped gopis have completely lost their understanding
ਠਗਨੀ ਸੁਰ ਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਇਨ ਅੰਤਰ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਮਤਿ ਲੁਟੀ ॥
tthaganee sur hai kab sayaam kahai in antar kee sabh mat luttee |
ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਸਮ ਹੈ ਚਲਤ ਯੌ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਮਗ ਲਾਜ ਕੀ ਬੇਲ ਤਰਾਕ ਤੁਟੀ ॥੪੫੮॥
mriganee sam hai chalat yau in ke mag laaj kee bel taraak tuttee |458|The gopis are moving like does and the creeper of their shyness broke down quickly on listening to the tune of Krishna.458.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਰੂਪ ਨਿਹਾਰ ਰਹੀ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਹੋਇ ਇਕਾਠੀ ॥
kaanrah ko roop nihaar rahee triyaa sayaam kahai kab hoe ikaatthee |Gathering together to women are looking at the form of Krishna and
ਜਿਉ ਸੁਰ ਕੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਕੌ ਸੁਨ ਕੈ ਮ੍ਰਿਗਨੀ ਚਲਿ ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਨ ਨਾਠੀ ॥
jiau sur kee dhun kau sun kai mriganee chal aavat jaat na naatthee |Moving like the deer listening to the sound of horn they are moving on all the four sides of Krishna
ਮੈਨ ਸੋ ਮਤ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕੂਦਤ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਸੁ ਛੋਰਿ ਮਨੋ ਸਭ ਲਾਜ ਕੀ ਗਾਠੀ ॥
main so mat hvai koodat kaanrah su chhor mano sabh laaj kee gaatthee |Absorbed in lust and abandoning their shyness
ਗੋਪਿਨ ਕੋ ਮਨੁ ਯੌ ਚੁਰਿ ਗਯੋ ਜਿਮ ਖੋਰਰ ਪਾਥਰ ਪੈ ਚਰਨਾਠੀ ॥੪੫੯॥
gopin ko man yau chur gayo jim khorar paathar pai charanaatthee |459|Their mind seems to have been abducted like the merger of sandal rubbed on the stone.459.
ਹਸਿ ਬਾਤ ਕਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਗੁਪੀਆ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਭਾਗ ਬਡੇ ॥
has baat karai har so gupeea kab sayaam kahai jin bhaag badde |Very fortunate gopis are talking to Krishna smilingly, they are all getting enchanted to seeing Krishna
ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਯੋ ਇਨ ਕੋ ਪਿਖ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਪਨ ਜਾਲ ਲਡੇ ॥
mohi sabhai pragattiyo in ko pikh kai har paapan jaal ladde |Krishna has deeply penetrated into the minds of the women of Braja
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੰ ਤਨ ਮਧਿ ਬਧੂ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਆਤੁਰ ਅਤਿ ਗਡੇ ॥
krisanan tan madh badhoo brij kee man hvai kar aatur at gadde |
ਸੋਊ ਸਤਿ ਕਿਧੋ ਮਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਗਡੇ ਸੁ ਅਧੰਨਿ ਜਿਨੋ ਮਨ ਹੈ ਅਗਡੇ ॥੪੬੦॥
soaoo sat kidho man jaeh gadde su adhan jino man hai agadde |460|Those in whose minds Krishna abides, they hve obtained the knowledge of reality and those, in whose mind, Krishna has not stabilised as yet, they are also fortunate, because they have saved themselves from the unbearable pangs of love.460.
ਨੈਨ ਚੁਰਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਕਛੂ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ਭਯੋ ਹਰਿ ਠਾਢੋ ॥
nain churaae mahaa sukh paae kachhoo musakaae bhayo har tthaadto |Stealing the eyes and slightly smiling, Krishna is standing there
ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜ ਬਾਮ ਸਭੈ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਨੰਦ ਬਾਢੋ ॥
mohi rahee brij baam sabhai at hee tin kai man aanand baadto |Seeing this and with increased pleasure in their minds, the women of Braja have become allured
ਜਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਿਧੋ ਸੀਯ ਜੀਤ ਕੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਡਰਿਯੋ ਰਿਪੁ ਰਾਵਨ ਗਾਢੋ ॥
jaa bhagavaan kidho seey jeet kai maar ddariyo rip raavan gaadto |
ਤਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਕਿਧੋ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਨੁਕਤਾ ਸਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਕਾਢੋ ॥੪੬੧॥
taa bhagavaan kidho mukh te mukataa nukataa sam amrit kaadto |461|That Lord, who had conquered Sita by killing his horrible enemy Ravana, the same Lord at this time is creating a sound beautiful like gems and very sweet like ambrosia.461.
ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਜੂ ਬਾਚ ਗੋਪੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥
kaanrah joo baach gopee prat |Speech of Krishna addressed to gopis:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਆਜੁ ਭਯੋ ਝੜ ਹੈ ਜਮੁਨਾ ਤਟਿ ਖੇਲਨ ਕੀ ਅਬ ਘਾਤ ਬਣੀ ॥
aaj bhayo jharr hai jamunaa tatt khelan kee ab ghaat banee |Today, there are also a few clouds in the sky and my mind is getting impatient to play on the bank of Yamuna
ਤਜ ਕੈ ਡਰ ਖੇਲ ਕਰੋ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਸਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਅਣੀ ॥
taj kai ddar khel karo ham so kab sayaam kahiyo has kaanrah anee |Krishna said smilingly, “All of you may wander with me fearlessly
ਜੋ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੈ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਸੋਊ ਖੇਲਹੁ ਖੇਲਹੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਜਣੀ ਰੁ ਕਣੀ ॥
jo sundar hai tum mai soaoo khelahu khelahu naeh janee ru kanee |“The most beautiful from you may come with me, the others may not come
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੈ ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਰਸ ਬੋਲ ਕਿਧੋ ਹਰਤਾ ਜੋਊ ਮਾਨ ਫਣੀ ॥੪੬੨॥
eih bhaat kahai has kai ras bol kidho harataa joaoo maan fanee |462|” Krishna, the smasher of the pride of the serpent Kali, uttered such-like words.462.
ਹਸਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਕਹੀ ਬਤੀਆ ਤਿਨ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੋ ਰਸ ਰਾਤੋ ॥
has kai su kahee bateea tin so kab sayaam kahai har jo ras raato |Krishna said such words smilingly and steeped in sentiment
ਨੈਨ ਮ੍ਰਿਗੀਪਤਿ ਸੇ ਤਿਹ ਕੇ ਇਮ ਚਾਲ ਚਲੈ ਜਿਮ ਗਈਯਰ ਮਾਤੋ ॥
nain mrigeepat se tih ke im chaal chalai jim geeyar maato |His eyes are like deer and gait like an intoxicated elephant
ਦੇਖਤ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੀ ਗੋਪਿਨ ਭੂਲਿ ਗਈ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕੀ ਸੁਧ ਸਾਤੋ ॥
dekhat moorat kaanrah kee gopin bhool gee grih kee sudh saato |Seeing his beauty the gopis lost all other consciousness
ਚੀਰ ਗਏ ਉਡ ਕੈ ਤਨ ਕੈ ਅਰੁ ਟੂਟ ਗਯੋ ਨੈਨ ਤੇ ਲਾਜ ਕੋ ਨਾਤੋ ॥੪੬੩॥
cheer ge udd kai tan kai ar ttoott gayo nain te laaj ko naato |463|The garments dropped from their bodies and they abandoned all shyness.463.
ਕੁਪਿ ਕੈ ਮਧੁ ਕੈਟਭ ਤਾਨਿ ਮਰੇ ਮੁਰਿ ਦੈਤ ਮਰਿਯੋ ਅਪਨੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਾਥਾ ॥
kup kai madh kaittabh taan mare mur dait mariyo apane jin haathaa |He, who on being enraged, killed the demons named Madhu, Kaitabh and Mur
ਜਾਹਿ ਬਿਭੀਛਨ ਰਾਜ ਦਯੋ ਰਿਸਿ ਰਾਵਨ ਕਾਟ ਦਏ ਜਿਹ ਮਾਥਾ ॥
jaeh bibheechhan raaj dayo ris raavan kaatt de jih maathaa |He, who gave kingdom to Vibhishana and chopped the ten heads of Ravana
ਸੋ ਤਿਹ ਕੀ ਤਿਹੂ ਲੋਗਨ ਮਧਿ ਕਹੈ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਚਲੇ ਜਸ ਗਾਥਾ ॥
so tih kee tihoo logan madh kahai kab sayaam chale jas gaathaa |The story of his victory prevails in all the three worlds
