ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |ARIL
ਭਾਜਿ ਜਛ ਸਬ ਗਏ ਤਬਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਬਲ ॥
bhaaj jachh sab ge tabeh har mahaa bal |When all the yakshas fled, then Sri Krishna performed the great sacrifice
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਦੀਓ ਛਾਡ ਸੁ ਕੰਪਿਯੋ ਤਲ ਬਿਤਲ ॥
rudr asatr deeo chhaadd su kanpiyo tal bital |When all the Yakshas had run away, then the mighty Krishna discharged Rudrastra (the arm in relation to Rudra), which made the earth and the nether-world tremble
ਤਬ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਉਠਿ ਧਾਏ ਸੂਲ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ॥
tab siv joo utth dhaae sool sanbhaar kai |Then Shiva holding his trident got up and ran
ਹੋ ਕਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿਓ ਹਮੈ ਇਹੈ ਜੀਅ ਧਾਰ ਕੈ ॥੧੪੯੯॥
ho kiau har simario hamai ihai jeea dhaar kai |1499|He reflected how the Lord Krishna had remembered him?1499.
ਸੰਗ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੈ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਚਲੇ ਭਟ ਉਠਿ ਤਬੈ ॥
sang rudr kai rudr chale bhatt utth tabai |Rudra and his other warriors started moving alongwith him
ਏਕ ਰਦਨ ਜੂ ਚਲੇ ਸੰਗ ਲੈ ਦਲ ਸਬੈ ॥
ek radan joo chale sang lai dal sabai |Ganesh also accompanied with all his army
ਔਰ ਸਕਲ ਗਨ ਚਲੈ ਸੁ ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ॥
aauar sakal gan chalai su sasatr sanbhaar kai |All other ganas, taking up their weapons, moved along
ਹੋ ਕੌਨ ਅਜਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਭਵ ਕਹੈ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਕੈ ॥੧੫੦੦॥
ho kauan ajit pragattio bhav kahai bichaar kai |1500|They were all thinking as to who was that mighty hero born in the world, for killing whom, they had been called.1500.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |DOHRA
ਕੋ ਭਟ ਉਪਜਿਯੋ ਜਗਤ ਮੈ ਸਬ ਯੌ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
ko bhatt upajiyo jagat mai sab yau karat bichaar |All of them are thinking as to who can be that mighty one born in the world
ਸਿਵ ਸਿਖਿ ਬਾਹਨ ਗਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਆਏ ਰਨਿ ਰਿਸਿ ਧਾਰਿ ॥੧੫੦੧॥
siv sikh baahan gan sahit aae ran ris dhaar |1501|The god Shiva and his ganas, in their fury, came out of their abodes.1501.
ਪ੍ਰਲੈ ਕਾਲ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਹੀ ਆਏ ਤਿਹ ਠਾ ਦੌਰਿ ॥
pralai kaal karataa jahee aae tih tthaa dauar |He who is the doer of the deluge, (he) has come running there.
ਰਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਠੌਰ ॥੧੫੦੨॥
ran nihaar man mai kahiyo ih chintaa kee tthauar |1502|When the god of dissolution came himself in the battlefield, them the field itself indeed became the field of anxiety.1502.
ਗਨ ਗਨੇਸ ਸਿਵ ਖਟਬਦਨ ਦੇਖੈ ਨੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
gan ganes siv khattabadan dekhai nain nihaar |(Shiva's) Gana, Ganesha, Siva, the six-faced (Lord Kartike) look (attentively) with eyes.
ਸੋ ਰਿਸ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਜੁਧ ਹਿਤ ਲੀਨੇ ਆਪ ਹਕਾਰਿ ॥੧੫੦੩॥
so ris bhoopat judh hit leene aap hakaar |1503|Already when Ganesh, Shiva, Dattatreya and ganas were viewing the battlefield, there and then the king himself challenged them to fight.1503.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਰੇ ਸਿਵ ਆਜ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਮੈ ਲਰਿ ਲੈ ਹਮ ਸੋ ਕਰ ਲੈ ਬਲ ਜੇਤੋ ॥
re siv aaj ayodhan mai lar lai ham so kar lai bal jeto |“O Shiva! whatever strength you have today, use it in this war
ਐ ਰੇ ਗਨੇਸ ਲਰੈ ਹਮਰੇ ਸੰਗ ਹੈ ਤੁਮਰੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਬਲ ਏਤੋ ॥
aai re ganes larai hamare sang hai tumare tan mai bal eto |O Ganesh! do have so much strength as to fight with me?
ਕਿਉ ਰੇ ਖੜਾਨਨ ਤੂ ਗਰਬੈ ਮਰ ਹੈ ਅਬ ਹੀ ਇਕ ਬਾਨ ਲਗੈ ਤੋ ॥
kiau re kharraanan too garabai mar hai ab hee ik baan lagai to |“Hello Kartikeya! for what you are becoming egoistic? You will be killed with one arrow
ਕਾਹੇ ਕਉ ਜੂਝ ਮਰੋ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਅਬ ਲਉ ਨ ਗਯੋ ਕਛੁ ਜੀਅ ਮਹਿ ਚੇਤੋ ॥੧੫੦੪॥
kaahe kau joojh maro ran mai ab lau na gayo kachh jeea meh cheto |1504|Still nothing has gone wrong, why do you want to die while fighting in the war?”1504.
ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਬਾਚ ਖੜਗੇਸ ਸੋ ॥
siv joo baach kharrages so |Speech of Shiva addressed to Kharag Singh:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਬੋਲਿ ਉਠਿਯੋ ਰਿਸਿ ਕੈ ਸਿਵ ਜੂ ਅਰੇ ਕਿਉ ਸੁਨ ਤੂ ਗਰਬਾਤੁ ਹੈ ਏਤੋ ॥
bol utthiyo ris kai siv joo are kiau sun too garabaat hai eto |Shiva spoke in anger, “O king! why are you so proud? Do not indulge in strife with us
ਏਤਨ ਸਿਉ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਰਿ ਮੰਡੋ ਅਬਿ ਹੀ ਲਖਿ ਹੈ ਹਮ ਮੈ ਬਲੁ ਜੇਤੋ ॥
etan siau jin raar manddo ab hee lakh hai ham mai bal jeto |You will see just now what strength we have!
ਜੌ ਤੁਮ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਪਉਰਖ ਹੈ ਅਬ ਢੀਲ ਕਹਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨਹਿ ਲੇਤੋ ॥
jau tum mai at paurakh hai ab dteel kahaa dhan baaneh leto |If you have a lot of power, then why are you slacking now, take hold of the bow and arrow.
ਜੇਤੋ ਹੈ ਦੀਰਘ ਗਾਤ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਸੁ ਬਾਨਨ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਹੋ ਲਹੁ ਤੇਤੋ ॥੧੫੦੫॥
jeto hai deeragh gaat tihaaro su baanan so kar ho lahu teto |1505|“If you have greater courage, then why are you delaying, why do you not take your bow and arrows in your hands? You have a very large body and by piercing it with my arrows, I shall lighten it.”1505.
ਖੜਗੇਸ ਬਾਚ ਸਿਵ ਸੋ ॥
kharrages baach siv so |Speech of Kharag Singh addressed to Shiva:
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥
savaiyaa |SWAYYA
ਕਿਉ ਸਿਵ ਮਾਨ ਕਰੈ ਇਤਨੋ ਭਜਿ ਹੈ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਜਬ ਮਾਰ ਮਚੈਗੀ ॥
kiau siv maan karai itano bhaj hai tab hee jab maar machaigee |“O Shiva! why are you so proud? Now when there will be dreadful fighting, you will run away
ਏਕ ਹੀ ਬਾਨ ਲਗੈ ਕਪਿ ਜਿਉ ਸਿਗਰੀ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਅਬ ਸੈਨ ਨਚੈਗੀ ॥
ek hee baan lagai kap jiau sigaree tumaree ab sain nachaigee |With the infliction of a single arrow, all your army will dance like a monkey
ਭੂਤ ਪਿਸਾਚਨ ਕੀ ਧੁਜਨੀ ਮਰਿ ਹੈ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਬਚੈਗੀ ॥
bhoot pisaachan kee dhujanee mar hai ran mai nahee naik bachaigee |“All the army of the ghosts and fiends will be vanquished and there will be no survivor
ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਤ ਸੋ ਸੁਨਿ ਆਜੁ ਧਰਾ ਇਹ ਆਰੁਨ ਬੇਖ ਰਚੈਗੀ ॥੧੫੦੬॥
tere hee sraunat so sun aaj dharaa ih aarun bekh rachaigee |1506|O Shiva! listen, this earth saturated with your blood will wear the red garb today.”1506.
ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ ॥
tottak chhand |TOTAK STANZA
ਸਿਵ ਯੌ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਧਨੁ ਬਾਨ ਲੀਓ ॥
siv yau sun kai dhan baan leeo |Hearing this, Shiva took the bow and arrow
ਕਸਿ ਕਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ਲਉ ਛਾਡਿ ਦੀਓ ॥
kas kaan pramaan lau chhaadd deeo |Hearing these words, Shiva held up his bow and arrows and pulling his bow upto his ear, he discharged the arrow, which struck the face of the king
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਕੇ ਮੁਖ ਲਾਗ ਬਿਰਾਜ ਰਹਿਓ ॥
nrip ke mukh laag biraaj rahio |(That arrow) hit the king's face,
ਖਗਰਾਜ ਮਨੋ ਅਹਿ ਰਾਜ ਗਹਿਓ ॥੧੫੦੭॥
khagaraaj mano eh raaj gahio |1507|It appeared that Garuda had caught the king of the snakes.1507.
ਬਰਛੀ ਤਬ ਭੂਪ ਚਲਾਇ ਦਈ ॥
barachhee tab bhoop chalaae dee |The king threw the spear at once
ਸਿਵ ਕੇ ਉਰ ਮੈ ਲਗ ਕ੍ਰਾਤਿ ਭਈ ॥
siv ke ur mai lag kraat bhee |Then the king struck his lance, which hit the chest of Shiva
ਉਪਮਾ ਕਬਿ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਕਹੀ ॥
aupamaa kab ne ih bhaat kahee |(That) his similitude is thus said by the poet,
ਰਵਿ ਕੀ ਕਰ ਕੰਜ ਪੈ ਮੰਡਿ ਰਹੀ ॥੧੫੦੮॥
rav kee kar kanj pai mandd rahee |1508|It appeared that the ray of the sun was hovering over the lotus.1508.
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਕਰਿ ਖੈਂਚਿ ਨਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
tab hee har dvai kar khainch nikaaree |Only then did Shiva pull out the (spear) with both hands
ਗਹਿ ਡਾਰ ਦਈ ਮਨੋ ਨਾਗਨਿ ਕਾਰੀ ॥
geh ddaar dee mano naagan kaaree |Then Shiva pulled it out with both his hands and threw that lance like a black she-serpent on the earth
ਬਹੁਰੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮ੍ਯਾਨ ਤੇ ਖਗੁ ਨਿਕਾਰਿਓ ॥
bahuro nrip mayaan te khag nikaario |Then the king took out the sword from its sheath
ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਬਲੁ ਕੋ ਸਿਵ ਊਪਰ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੦੯॥
kar kai bal ko siv aoopar ddaario |1509|Then the king drew out his sword from the scabbard and with great force struck its blow on Shiva.1509.
ਹਰ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਗਿਰ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰਿਓ ॥
har mohi rahio gir bhoom pario |Shiva fainted and fell on the ground.
ਮਨੋ ਬਜ੍ਰ ਪਰਿਓ ਗਿਰਿ ਸ੍ਰਿੰਗ ਝਰਿਓ ॥
mano bajr pario gir sring jhario |Shiva became unconscious and fell on the ground like the peak of the mountain falling down with the blow of vajra
