ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੌ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਤ ਯੌ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਧਨ ਜੋਰ੍ਯੋ ॥
bhaat bhaat sau raaj karat yau bhaat bhaat dhan jorayo |Ruled in different ways and accumulated wealth in different ways.
ਜਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਮਾਨਸ ਸ੍ਰਉਨਨ ਸੁਨ ਤਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਤੇ ਤੋਰ੍ਯੋ ॥
jahaa jahaa maanas sraunan sun tahaa tahaa te torayo |Ruling in various ways, the king gathered wealth by various means and wherever the came on know of it, he looted it
ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜੀਤ ਦੇਸ ਪੁਰ ਦੇਸਨ ਜੀਤ ਨਿਸਾਨ ਬਜਾਯੋ ॥
eih bidh jeet des pur desan jeet nisaan bajaayo |In this way, by conquering the countries, towns, and villages, he sounded the bell of victory.
ਆਪਨ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨ੍ਯੋ ਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਿਸਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੧੯॥
aapan karan kaaran kar maanayo kaal purakh bisaraayo |119|In this way, conquering many countries far and near, the king extended his fame and himself forgetting the Lord began to consider himself the creator.119.
ਰੂਆਮਲ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਦਸ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਬਰਖਨ ਕੀਨ ਰਾਜ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ॥
das sahansr pramaan barakhan keen raaj sudhaar |He ruled well for ten thousand years.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਧਰਾਨ ਲੈ ਅਰੁ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ॥
bhaat bhaat dharaan lai ar satru sarab sanghaar |In this way, getting onwards, killing all the enemies, conquering the earth in various ways, the king ruled for ten thousand years
ਜੀਤਿ ਜੀਤਿ ਅਨੂਪ ਭੂਪ ਅਨੂਪ ਰੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
jeet jeet anoop bhoop anoop roop apaar |Conquering the incomparable kings (who were) incomparable and incomparable form.
ਭੂਪ ਮੇਧ ਠਟ੍ਰਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪੋਤਮ ਏਕ ਜਗ ਸੁਧਾਰਿ ॥੧੨੦॥
bhoop medh tthattrayo nripotam ek jag sudhaar |120|Conquering many kings, the king thought of performing the Raajmedh Yajna.120.
ਦੇਸ ਦੇਸਨ ਕੇ ਨਰੇਸਨ ਬਾਧਿ ਕੈ ਇਕ ਬਾਰਿ ॥
des desan ke naresan baadh kai ik baar |Once by binding the kings of the countries
ਰੋਹ ਦੇਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਗਯੋ ਲੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥
roh des bikhai gayo lai putr mitr kumaar |The king alongwith his sons and friends brought the kings of various countries to his own country in fetters,
ਨਾਰਿ ਸੰਜੁਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਿਧਵਤ ਕੀਨ ਜਗ ਅਰੰਭ ॥
naar sanjut baitth bidhavat keen jag aranbh |Sitting with the woman, he started the Yagya with proper etiquette.
ਬੋਲਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਰੋਰ ਰਿਤਜ ਔਰ ਬਿਪ ਅਸੰਭ ॥੧੨੧॥
bol bol karor ritaj aauar bip asanbh |121|And began to perform Yajna with his wife he also invited crores of Brahmins.121.
ਰਾਜਮੇਧ ਕਰ੍ਯੋ ਲਗੈ ਆਰੰਭ ਭੂਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
raajamedh karayo lagai aaranbh bhoop apaar |King Apar started Bhup-medha (Yag).
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਜੋਰਿ ਸੁਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ॥
bhaat bhaat samridh jor sumitr putr kumaar |Gathering his various friends, the king began the rajmedh Yajna
ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਕੇ ਜੁਰੇ ਜਨ ਆਨਿ ਕੈ ਤਿਹ ਦੇਸ ॥
bhaat anekan ke jure jan aan kai tih des |Many different people came to that country.
ਛੀਨਿ ਛੀਨਿ ਲਏ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਬਰ ਦੇਸ ਦਿਰਬ ਅਵਿਨੇਸ ॥੧੨੨॥
chheen chheen le nripaabar des dirab avines |122|People of various kinds gathered there and the king also seized the wealth and property of he superb kings.122.
ਦੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਨੈਣ ॥
dekh ke ih bhaat sarab su bhoop sanpat nain |Everyone saw all the property of that king with their eyes.
ਗਰਬ ਸੋ ਭੁਜ ਦੰਡ ਕੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬੋਲਾ ਬੈਣ ॥
garab so bhuj dandd kai ih bhaat bolaa bain |Looking at his infinite wealth, feeling proud on the strength of his arms, spoke thus :
ਭੂਪ ਮੇਧ ਕਰੋ ਸਬੈ ਤੁਮ ਆਜ ਜਗ ਅਰੰਭ ॥
bhoop medh karo sabai tum aaj jag aranbh |You should start all the Bhumapedha Yags today.
ਸਤਜੁਗ ਮਾਹਿ ਭਯੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਕੀਨ ਰਾਜੈ ਜੰਭ ॥੧੨੩॥
satajug maeh bhayo jihee bidh keen raajai janbh |123|“O Brahmins! now perform such Bhoopmedh Yajna, which was performed by Jambhasura in Satyuga.”123.
ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀਯ ਬਾਚ ॥
mantreey baach |Speech of the minister :
ਲਛ ਜਉ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਾਰੀਯੈ ਤਬ ਹੋਤ ਹੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮੇਧ ॥
lachh jau nrip maareeyai tab hot hai nrip medh |If one lakh kings are killed then 'Nrip-Medha' (Bhup-Medha) yagna is performed.
ਏਕ ਏਕ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਦੀਜੀਯੈ ਭਵਿਖੇਧ ॥
ek ek anek sanpat deejeeyai bhavikhedh |“If one lakh are killed, then the Rajmedh Yajna can be performed and to each Brahmin innumerable wealth,
ਲਛ ਲਛ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਏਕਹਿ ਦੀਜੀਐ ਅਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
lachh lachh turang ekeh deejeeai abichaar |And one lakh horses are to be given immediately
ਜਗ ਪੂਰਣ ਹੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਸੁਨ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜ ਵਤਾਰ ॥੧੨੪॥
jag pooran hot hai sun raaj raaj vataar |124|In this way, O king! the Yajna can be completed.124.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੁਮ੍ਰਿਧ ਸੰਪਤਿ ਦੀਜੀਯੈ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ॥
bhaat bhaat sumridh sanpat deejeeyai ik baar |All kinds of wealth and property should be given only once.
ਲਛ ਹਸਤ ਤੁਰੰਗ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਲਛ ਸੁਵਰਨ ਭਾਰ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
lachh hasat turang dvai lachh suvaran bhaar apaar |“Many types of gifts of wealth and property and one lakh elephants and two lakh horses and one lakh gold coins are to be given to each of the Brahmin :
ਕੋਟਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਿਜੇਕ ਏਕਹਿ ਦੀਜੀਯੈ ਅਬਿਲੰਬ ॥
kott kott dijek ekeh deejeeyai abilanb |Every Brahmin should give (an amount of) crores without delay.
ਜਗ ਪੂਰਣ ਹੋਇ ਤਉ ਸੁਨ ਰਾਜ ਰਾਜ ਅਸੰਭ ॥੧੨੫॥
jag pooran hoe tau sun raaj raaj asanbh |125|“O king! by donating these to crores of Brahmins, this impossible Yajna can be completed.125.
ਪਾਰਸਨਾਥ ਬਾਚ ॥

ਸੁਵਰਨ ਕੀ ਨ ਇਤੀ ਕਮੀ ਜਉ ਟੁਟ ਹੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਰਖ ॥
suvaran kee na itee kamee jau ttutt hai bahu barakh |“There is no shortage of gold and inspite of donating it for many years, it will not go out of stock
ਹਸਤ ਕੀ ਨ ਕਮੀ ਮੁਝੈ ਹਯ ਸਾਰ ਲੀਜੈ ਪਰਖ ॥
hasat kee na kamee mujhai hay saar leejai parakh |Took at the house of elephants and the stable of horses, there is no shortage of them
ਅਉਰ ਜਉ ਧਨ ਚਾਹੀਯੈ ਸੋ ਲੀਜੀਯੈ ਅਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
aaur jau dhan chaaheeyai so leejeeyai abichaar |Take whatever money you need without thinking.
ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਕਰੋ ਸੁਨ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥੧੨੬॥
chit mai na kachhoo karo sun mantr mitr avataar |126|“O minister-friend! do not have any doubt in your mind and whatever wealth is wanted, take it immediately.”126.
ਯਉ ਜਬੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਉਚਰ੍ਯੋ ਤਬ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਬਰ ਸੁਨਿ ਬੈਨ ॥
yau jabai nrip ucharayo tab mantr bar sun bain |When the king spoke thus, the great minister, hearing the words,
ਹਾਥ ਜੋਰਿ ਸਲਾਮ ਕੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨੀਚ ਕੈ ਜੁਗ ਨੈਨ ॥
haath jor salaam kai nrip neech kai jug nain |When the king said like this, then the minister closed his eyes and bowed before the king with folded hands
ਅਉਰ ਏਕ ਸੁਨੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪੋਤਮ ਉਚਰੌਂ ਇਕ ਗਾਥ ॥
aaur ek suno nripotam ucharauan ik gaath |Oh great king! I say another thing ('gath'), listen (carefully),
ਜੌਨ ਮਧਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਪੁਰਾਨਨ ਅਉਰ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸਾਥ ॥੧੨੭॥
jauan madh sunee puraanan aaur sinmrit saath |127|“O king! listen to another thing, which I have heard in the form of a discourse on the basis of Purans and Smritis.”127.

ਰੂਆਲ ਛੰਦ ॥

ਅਉਰ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਦੇਸ ਕੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਜੀਤੀਯੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਭੂਪ ॥
aaur jo sabh des ke nrip jeeteeyai sun bhoop |O Rajan! Listen, others who have conquered the kings of all lands,
ਪਰਮ ਰੂਪ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਗਾਤ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਹਰਣ ਸਰੂਪ ॥
param roop pavitr gaat apavitr haran saroop |“O king! listen, you are supremely immaculate and blemishless You may conquer the kings of all the countries
ਐਸ ਜਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਭੂਪ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸਭ ਪੂਛੀਆ ਤਿਹ ਗਾਥ ॥
aais jau sun bhoop bhoopat sabh poochheea tih gaath |Thus, O Lord of Kings! Listen, ask them all this.
ਪੂਛ ਆਉ ਸਬੈ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਨ ਹਉ ਕਹੋ ਤੁਹ ਸਾਥ ॥੧੨੮॥
poochh aau sabai nripaalan hau kaho tuh saath |128|“The secret about which you are taking, O minister! You may yourself ask this from all the kings.”128.
ਯੌ ਕਹੇ ਜਬ ਬੈਨ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਬਰ ਸੁਨਿ ਧਾਇ ॥
yau kahe jab bain bhoopat mantr bar sun dhaae |When the king spoke in this way, the great minister ran away.
ਪੰਚ ਲਛ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਪੂਛ ਸਰਬ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
panch lachh bulaae bhoopat poochh sarab bulaae |When the king said this, the chief minister then started for the purpose they invited five lakh kings
