ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮਾਸੂਕ ਮਤੀ ਤਿਹ ਰਾਨੀ ॥
sree maasook matee tih raanee |Masuk Mati was his queen
ਰਵੀ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਵੀ ਕੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
ravee chandravee kai indraanee |1|Who was beautiful like the wives of Sun, Moon or Indra. 1.
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਤ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
taa ke putr hot grih naahee |He did not have a son at home.
ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਕੇ ਜਿਯ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
eih chintaa triy ke jiy maahee |This was the concern of that woman.
ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇ ਜਿਯ ਮਹਿ ਡਰ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
raajaa te jiy meh ddar paavai |She was very afraid of the king in her heart,
ਬਹੁ ਪੁਰਖਨ ਸੰਗ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੨॥
bahu purakhan sang kel kamaavai |2|But used to play with many men. 2.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥

ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਸੁੰਦਰੀ ਝਰੋਖਾ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਰ ॥
ek divas sundaree jharokhaa baitth bar |One day that great beauty was sitting in the window (of her palace).
ਮਹਿਖਨ ਕੋ ਪਾਲਕ ਤਹ ਨਿਕਸਿਯੋ ਆਇ ਕਰਿ ॥
mahikhan ko paalak tah nikasiyo aae kar |That this herd of buffaloes came out from there.
ਮੇਹੀਵਾਲ ਸੋਹਨੀ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਗਾਵਤੋ ॥
meheevaal sohanee mukh te gaavato |He was singing the beautiful Mehinwal (the story) from his mouth
ਹੋ ਸਭ ਨਾਰਿਨ ਕੇ ਚਿਤ ਕੌ ਚਲਾ ਚੁਰਾਵਤੋ ॥੩॥
ho sabh naarin ke chit kau chalaa churaavato |3|And the image of all the women was stolen. 3.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਸੁਨਿ ਰਾਨੀ ਸ੍ਰੁਤ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਮਾਰ ਕਰੀ ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ॥
sun raanee srut naad dhun maar karee bisanbhaar |When the queen heard (her) beautiful voice with her ears, Kama Dev (by shooting an arrow) made her impure.
ਰਮੋ ਮਹਿਖ ਪਾਲਕ ਭਏ ਇਹ ਬਿਧ ਕਿਯਾ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥੪॥
ramo mahikh paalak bhe ih bidh kiyaa bichaar |4|He thought in his mind that Raman should be performed with a herd of buffaloes. 4.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਮਹਿਖ ਚਰਾਵਤ ਥੋ ਵਹੁ ਜਹਾ ॥
mahikh charaavat tho vahu jahaa |where he grazed the buffaloes,
ਰਾਨੀ ਗਈ ਰਾਤ੍ਰਿ ਕਹ ਤਹਾ ॥
raanee gee raatr kah tahaa |Rani went there at night.
ਦ੍ਵੈਕ ਘਰੀ ਪਾਛੇ ਪਤਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥
dvaik gharee paachhe pat jaagaa |Husband woke up after two hours
ਅਸਿ ਗਹਿ ਕਰ ਪਾਛੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੫॥
as geh kar paachhe triy laagaa |5|And took the sword and followed the queen. 5.
ਸਖੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਇਕ ਤਹਾ ਸ੍ਯਾਨੀ ॥
sakhee hutee ik tahaa sayaanee |There was a wise friend.
ਤਿਨ ਇਹ ਬਾਤ ਸਕਲ ਜਿਯ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
tin ih baat sakal jiy jaanee |He took all this to heart.
ਜੌ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਪਤਿ ਐਸ ਲਹੈ ਹੈ ॥
jau taa kau pat aais lahai hai |(She thought that) if her husband would see her like this (in the state of having sex with another man).
ਤੌ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਪਠੈ ਹੈ ॥੬॥
tau grih jam ke duhoon patthai hai |6|Then Yama will send both of them. 6.
ਆਗੂ ਆਪਿ ਤਹਾ ਉਠਿ ਗਈ ॥
aagoo aap tahaa utth gee |(She) herself got up and reached there first
ਰਾਨੀ ਜਹਾ ਮਿਲਤ ਤਿਹ ਭਈ ॥
raanee jahaa milat tih bhee |Where Rani was enjoying union with him (Pali).
ਐਚਿ ਅੰਗ ਤਿਹ ਤਬੈ ਜਗਾਯਾ ॥
aaich ang tih tabai jagaayaa |(He) woke her up by knocking over her body
ਸਭ ਬ੍ਰਿਤਾਤ ਕਹਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਸੁਨਾਯਾ ॥੭॥
sabh britaat keh taeh sunaayaa |7|And told him to be the whole of England. 7.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਸਮੁੰਦ ਕੇ ਬਿਖੈ ਬੂਡਿ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਗਈ ॥
traas samund ke bikhai boodd tarunee gee |(Hearing this) the queen got scared and drowned in the sea.
ਗਰੇ ਪਗਰਿਯਾ ਡਾਰਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਈ ॥
gare pagariyaa ddaar tisai maarat bhee |(He) put a turban in his mouth and killed that (Pali).
ਏਕ ਬਡੇ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਸੰਗ ਦਯੋ ਲਟਕਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
ek badde drum sang dayo lattakaae kai |Hanged (him) with a big cross
ਹੋ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਉਤਾਰਿ ਤਰ ਨ੍ਰਹਾਤ ਭਈ ਤਹ ਜਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੮॥
ho basatr utaar tar nrahaat bhee tah jaae kai |8|And after taking off her clothes, she went under it and started bathing. 8.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਅਹਿ ਧੁਜ ਰਾਜ ਤਹਾ ਤਬ ਆਯੋ ॥
eh dhuj raaj tahaa tab aayo |Then King Ah Dhuj reached there
ਨ੍ਰਹਾਤ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਤਰ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਲਖਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
nrahaat mritak tar triy lakh paayo |And saw the woman bathing under the dead body.
ਪੂਛਤ ਪਕਰਿ ਤਬੈ ਤਿਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
poochhat pakar tabai tih bhayo |Only then (he) held the woman and asked
ਜਰਿ ਬਰਿ ਆਠ ਟੂਕ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਯੋ ॥੯॥
jar bar aatth ttook hvai gayo |9|And burnt into eight pieces. 9.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਨਿਜੁ ਧਾਮਨ ਕਹ ਛੋਰਿ ਕੈ ਕ੍ਯੋ ਆਈ ਇਹ ਠੌਰ ॥
nij dhaaman kah chhor kai kayo aaee ih tthauar |(Said that) why have you come here after leaving your home.
ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਤੌ ਛਾਡਿ ਹੌ ਹਨੋ ਕਹੈ ਕਛੁ ਔਰ ॥੧੦॥
saach kahai tau chhaadd hau hano kahai kachh aauar |10|If you tell the truth, I will release you and if you say anything else, I will kill you. 10.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਤਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜੋਰਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ॥
tab triy jor duhoon kar liaa |Then the woman joined both hands
ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਰ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਦਿਯਾ ॥
pat paaein tar masatak diyaa |And laid her head at her husband's feet.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਪਿਯ ਬੈਨ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
pratham sunahu piy bain hamaare |Oh dear! Listen to me first.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਕਰਹੁ ਜੋ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ॥੧੧॥
bahur karahu jo hridai tihaare |11|Then do whatever comes to your heart. 11.
ਮੋਰੇ ਬਢੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਚਿਤ ॥
more badtee adhik chintaa chit |was very worried.
ਧ੍ਰਯਾਨ ਧਰੋ ਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿ ਕੌ ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿ ॥
dhrayaan dharo sreepat kau nitiprat |(So I) meditated on Lord Vishnu every day
ਪੂਤ ਦੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਾਮ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
poot dehu prabh dhaam hamaare |That O Lord! Give (one) son to our house
