ਸਾਠ ਹਜਾਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਹੁਰੋ ਭਟ ਜਛ ਸੁ ਲਛ ਕਈ ਤਿਹ ਘਾਏ ॥
saatth hajaar hane bahuro bhatt jachh su lachh kee tih ghaae |After killing sixty thousand warriors, the king knocked down one lakh Yakshas
ਜਾਦਵ ਲਛ ਕੀਏ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਬਹੁ ਜਛਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਲਛ ਬਨਾਏ ॥
jaadav lachh kee birathee bahu jachhan ke tan lachh banaae |He deprived one lakh Yadavas of their chariots and made the Yakshas his target
ਪੈਦਲ ਲਾਖ ਪਚਾਸ ਹਨੇ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਪੁਰਜੇ ਕਰਿ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
paidal laakh pachaas hane puraje puraje kar bhoom giraae |He scattered fifty lakh soldiers on foot in fragments on the earth
ਅਉਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਲੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਭੂਪ ਕੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਆਏ ॥੧੫੭੯॥
aaur hane balavaan kripaan lai jo ih bhoop ke aoopar aae |1579|Instead of them, the warriors who attacked the king with their swords, he killed them all.1579.
ਤਾਉ ਦੇ ਮੂਛਿ ਦੁਹੂੰ ਕਰ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਸੈਨ ਨੈ ਜਾਇ ਨਿਸੰਕ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
taau de moochh duhoon kar bhoopat sain nai jaae nisank pariyo |The king, twisting his whiskers, fearlessly fell upon the army
ਪੁਨਿ ਲਾਖ ਸੁਆਰ ਹਨੇ ਬਲਿ ਕੈ ਸਸਿ ਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਕੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਹਰਿਯੋ ॥
pun laakh suaar hane bal kai sas ko rav ko abhimaan hariyo |He again killed one lakh horsemen and shattered the pride of Surya and Chandra, even with a single arrow, he knocked down Yama on the ground
ਜਮ ਕੋ ਸਰ ਏਕ ਤੇ ਡਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਛਿਤਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਨਹੀ ਨੈਕੁ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥
jam ko sar ek te ddaar dayo chhit sayaam bhanai nahee naik ddariyo |He did not become fearful even slightly
ਜੋਊ ਸੂਰ ਕਹਾਵਤ ਹੈ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਸਬਹੂੰ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਖੰਡ ਨਿਖੰਡ ਕਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੫੮੦॥
joaoo soor kahaavat hai ran mai sabahoon nrip khandd nikhandd kariyo |1580|Those who called themselves heroes, the king chopped them into bits.1580.
ਰਨ ਮੈ ਦਸ ਲਛ ਹਨੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਜਛ ਜਲਾਧਿਪ ਕੋ ਭਟ ਲਛਕੁ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
ran mai das lachh hane pun jachh jalaadhip ko bhatt lachhak maario |He killed in the war ten lakh Yakshas and about a lakh warriors of Varuna
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਕੇ ਸੂਰ ਹਨੇ ਅਗਨੇ ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਸੁ ਨਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
eindr ke soor hane agane kab sayaam bhanai su nahee nrip haario |He also killed innumerable warriors of Indra and did not suffer defeat
ਸਾਤਕਿ ਕਉ ਮੁਸਲੀਧਰ ਕਉ ਬਸੁਦੇਵਹਿ ਕਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੂਰਛ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥
saatak kau musaleedhar kau basudeveh kau kar moorachh ddaario |He made Satyaki, Balram and Vasudev unconscious
ਭਾਜ ਗਯੋ ਜਮ ਅਉਰ ਸਚੀਪਤਿ ਕਾਹੂੰ ਨ ਹਾਥਿ ਹਥੀਯਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੮੧॥
bhaaj gayo jam aaur sacheepat kaahoon na haath hatheeyaar sanbhaario |1581|Yama and Indra, without taking up their weapons, fled away from the battlefield.1581.

ਜਬ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਏਤੋ ਕੀਓ ਜੁਧੁ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਕੈ ਸਾਥ ॥
jab bhoopat eto keeo judh krudh kai saath |When the king became enraged and waged such a (terrible) war,
ਤਬ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਪਤਿ ਆਵਤ ਭਯੋ ਧਨੁਖ ਬਾਨ ਲੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥੧੫੮੨॥
tab brijapat aavat bhayo dhanukh baan lai haath |1582|When the king waged the war with such fury, then Krishna taking up his bow and arrows came forward.1582.

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਸ ਭਰਿ ਬਲ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਿ ਪਰ ਜਬ ਧਨੁ ਧਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਯੋ ॥
sree har ris bhar bal kar ar par jab dhan dhar kar dhaayo |When Krishna, enraged, came upon the enemy with a mighty bow,
ਤਬ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਬਢਾਯੋ ਸ੍ਰੀਪਤਿ ਕੋ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਯੋ ॥
tab nrip man mai krodh badtaayo sreepat ko gun gaayo |When Krishna, in fury, fell on the enemy powerfully, taking up his bow in his hand, then, getting infuriated, the king eulogised the Lord in his mind

ਜਾ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤਿਹੂੰ ਪੁਰ ਸੇਸ ਅੰਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jaa ko pragatt prataap tihoon pur ses ant nahee paayo |Whose glory is manifest in the three people and whose end Sheshnag has not found;
ਬੇਦ ਭੇਦ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨਤ ਸੋ ਨੰਦ ਨੰਦ ਕਹਾਯੋ ॥
bed bhed jaa ko nahee jaanat so nand nand kahaayo |He whose Glory is known in all the three worlds, even Sheshnaga could not comprehend whose limits and even the Vedas could not know whose myself,His name is Krishna, the son of Nand
ਕਾਲ ਰੂਪ ਨਾਥਿਓ ਜਿਹ ਕਾਲੀ ਕੰਸ ਕੇਸ ਗਹਿ ਘਾਯੋ ॥
kaal roop naathio jih kaalee kans kes geh ghaayo |‘He, who stringed the serpent Kaliya, the manifestation of Kal (Death), He, who caught Kansa by his hair and knocked him down
ਸੋ ਮੈ ਰਨ ਮਹਿ ਓਰ ਆਪਨੀ ਕੋਪਿ ਹਕਾਰਿ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
so mai ran meh or aapanee kop hakaar bulaayo |I have, in fury, challenged him in the war
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਧ੍ਯਾਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਿਤਿ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਧਰਤਿ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਨਹੀ ਆਯੋ ॥
jaa ko dhayaan raam nit mun jan dharat hridai nahee aayo |‘He, who is ever meditated upon by the sages, but still they can’t perceive him in their heart
ਧਨਿ ਭਾਗ ਮੇਰੇ ਤਿਹ ਹਰਿ ਸੋ ਅਤਿ ਹੀ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੮੩॥
dhan bhaag mere tih har so at hee judh machaayo |1583|I am very fortunate to have waged dreadful war with him.1583.
ਜਦੁਪਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਨਾਥ ਕੀਯੋ ॥
jadupat mohi sanaath keeyo |‘O the Lord of Yadavas! you have given me your support
ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਤ ਨ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੂ ਕੋ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਦਰਸ ਦੀਯੋ ॥
darasan det na darasan hoo ko mo kau daras deeyo |Even the saints do not have your sight, but I have perceived you.

ਜਾਨਤ ਹੋ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਸਮ ਮੋ ਸੋ ਅਉਰ ਨ ਬੀਰ ਬੀਯੋ ॥
jaanat ho jag mai sam mo so aaur na beer beeyo |I know that there is no other hero like me in the world,
ਜਿਹ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਰਾਜ ਆਪੁਨੀ ਓਰ ਹਕਾਰਿ ਲੀਯੋ ॥
jih ran mai brijaraaj aapunee or hakaar leeyo |‘I know that there is no other mighty warrior equal to me, who has challenged Krishna in the war
ਜਾ ਕੋ ਸੁਕ ਨਾਰਦ ਮੁਨਿ ਸਾਰਦ ਗਾਵਤ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
jaa ko suk naarad mun saarad gaavat ant na paayo |Whom Sukadeva Narada Muni, Sarada etc. sing, but have not attained (his) end,
ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਆਜ ਰਿਸ ਕਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਿਰਬੇ ਹੇਤ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੮੪॥
taa kau sayaam aaj ris kar kai bhirabe het bulaayo |1584|‘He, who is eulogised by Shukdev, Narada and Sharda and still they are not able to comprehend His mystery, I have challenged him today for war in anger.’1584.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਕੈ ਯੌ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਨਿ ਗਹਿਯੋ ਪੁਨਿ ਧਾਇ ਪਰਿਓ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਨ ਚਲਾਏ ॥
gun gaae kai yau dhan paan gahiyo pun dhaae pario bahu baan chalaae |Eulogizing in this way, the king caught hold of his bow and arrows in his hands and discharged many arrows, while running
ਜੇ ਭਟ ਆਨਿ ਪਰੇ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਨਹ ਜਾਨ ਦਏ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਗਿਰਾਏ ॥
je bhatt aan pare ran mai nah jaan de bahu maar giraae |Those warriors who came in front of him in the war, he did not allow them to go but killed them
ਘਾਇ ਲਗੇ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਨ ਮੈ ਤਿਨ ਮਾਰਨ ਕਉ ਨਹਿ ਹਾਥ ਉਠਾਏ ॥
ghaae lage jin ke tan mai tin maaran kau neh haath utthaae |Those whose bodies are wounded, then the hand was not raised to kill them (i.e. they are dead).
ਸੈਨ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਦਈ ਜਦਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕ ਊਪਰ ਹੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਧਾਏ ॥੧੫੮੫॥
sain sanghaar dee jadavee brijanaaeik aoopar hee nrip dhaae |1585|He did not take up his weapons to kill the wounded and killing the Yadava army, the king fell upon Krishna.1585.
ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕ ਕੋ ਸੁ ਕਿਰੀਟੁ ਗਿਰਾਇ ਕੈ ਬਾਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
sree brijanaaeik ko su kireett giraae kai baan kai sang dayo hai |The king caused the crown of Krishna fall down with his arrow
ਪੰਦ੍ਰਹਿ ਸੈ ਗਜਰਾਜ ਸਮਾਜ ਮੈ ਬਾਜ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਮਾਰਿ ਲਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
pandreh sai gajaraaj samaaj mai baaj anekan maar layo hai |He killed fifteen hundred elephants and horses
ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਲਛ ਜਿਤੇ ਪੁਨਿ ਜਛ ਸੁ ਸੈਨ ਘਨੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਭਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
dvaadas lachh jite pun jachh su sain ghano bin praan bhayo hai |He made twelve lakh Yakshas lifeless
ਐਸੀਓ ਭਾਤਿ ਕੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਬਿਲੋਕ ਕੈ ਸੂਰਨ ਕੋ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ਗਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੧੫੮੬॥
aaiseeo bhaat ko judh bilok kai sooran ko abhimaan gayo hai |1586|Seeing such a war, the pride of the warriors was shattered.1586.
ਦਸ ਦਿਵਸ ਨਿਸਾ ਦਸ ਜੁਧ ਕੀਓ ਬ੍ਰਿਜਨਾਇਕ ਸੋ ਨ ਟਰਿਯੋ ਭਟ ਟਾਰਿਓ ॥
das divas nisaa das judh keeo brijanaaeik so na ttariyo bhatt ttaario |He was engaged in war with Krishna for ten days and ten nights, but did not suffer defeat
ਚਾਰ ਅਛੂਹਨਿ ਅਉਰ ਤਹਾ ਰਿਸਿ ਠਾਨਿ ਸਤਿਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਕੋ ਦਲ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
chaar achhoohan aaur tahaa ris tthaan satikrit ko dal maario |There he killed the four more greatest military units of Indra
ਮੂਰਛ ਹੁਇ ਭਟ ਭੂਮਿ ਗਿਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਬੀਰਨ ਕੌ ਲਰਤੇ ਬਲੁ ਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
moorachh hue bhatt bhoom gire bahu beeran kau larate bal haario |The warriors becoming unconscious fell down on the earth and many warriors were defeated while fighting
ਕੇਤੇ ਭਜੇ ਡਰੁ ਮਾਨਿ ਤਿਨੋ ਕਹ ਜਾਤ ਬਲੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਹਕਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੮੭॥
kete bhaje ddar maan tino kah jaat balee ih bhaat hakaario |1587|That mighty warrior raised such a challenging shout that many warriors, in fear, fled away.1587.
ਟੇਰ ਸੁਨੇ ਸਬ ਫੇਰਿ ਫਿਰੇ ਤਬ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਤੀਛਨ ਬਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
tter sune sab fer fire tab bhoopat teechhan baan prahaare |After hearing the challenging shout, all the warriors came back again, then the mighty warrior (king) inflicted blows on them with his arrows
ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਮਗ ਬੀਚ ਗਿਰੇ ਤਿਨ ਫੋਰਿ ਜਿਰੇ ਸਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਧਾਰੇ ॥
aavat hee mag beech gire tin for jire sar paar padhaare |Their bodies fell down midway, because the arrows penetrated through their bodies
ਏਕ ਬਲੀ ਤਬ ਦਉਰ ਪਰੇ ਮੁਖ ਢਾਲਨ ਲੈ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ਉਘਾਰੇ ॥
ek balee tab daur pare mukh dtaalan lai hathiyaar ughaare |Many sacrificial warriors have run at that time and with their faces in the shields, they raise their weapons (at the king).
