ਤਬ ਕੋਪ ਕਰੰ ਸਿਵ ਸੂਲ ਲੀਯੋ ॥

Then Shiva became angry and held the trident in his hand

ਅਰਿ ਕੋ ਸਿਰੁ ਕਾਟਿ ਦੁਖੰਡ ਕੀਯੋ ॥੩੯॥
ar ko sir kaatt dukhandd keeyo |39|

Then greatly infuriated, Shiva took the trident in his hand, and cut the head of the enemy into two parts.39.

ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਚਿਤ੍ਰ ਨਾਟਕੇ ਪਿਨਾਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਹਿ ਅੰਧਕ ਬਧਹਿ ਰੁਦ੍ਰੋਸਤਤਿ ਧਯਾਇ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੧੦॥

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਉਤੀ ਜੀ ਸਹਾਇ ॥

TOTAK STANZA

ਸੁਰ ਰਾਜ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਿ ਭਏ ਤਬ ਹੀ ॥
sur raaj prasan bhe tab hee |

Inder Dev was happy then

ਅਰਿ ਅੰਧਕ ਨਾਸ ਸੁਨਿਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ॥
ar andhak naas suniyo jab hee |

When Indra heard about the destruction of Andhakasura he was very much pleased.

ਇਮ ਕੈ ਦਿਨ ਕੇਤਕ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ ॥
eim kai din ketak beet ge |

Many days passed like this

ਸਿਵ ਧਾਮਿ ਸਤਕ੍ਰਿਤ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ॥੧॥
siv dhaam satakrit jaat bhe |1|

In this way, may days elapsed and Shiva also went to Indra’s place.1.

ਤਬ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਭਯਾਨਕ ਰੂਪ ਧਰਿਯੋ ॥
tab rudr bhayaanak roop dhariyo |

Then Shiva assumed a terrible form.

ਹਰਿ ਹੇਰਿ ਹਰੰ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ਹਰਿਯੋ ॥
har her haran hathiyaar hariyo |

Then Rudra manifested himself in a dreadful form seeing Shiva, Indra discharged his wapons.

ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸਿਵ ਕੋਪ ਅਖੰਡ ਕੀਯੋ ॥
tab hee siv kop akhandd keeyo |

Then Shiva also got angry.

ਇਕ ਜਨਮ ਅੰਗਾਰ ਅਪਾਰ ਲੀਯੋ ॥੨॥
eik janam angaar apaar leeyo |2|

Then Shiva was highly infuriated and blazed like a live charcoal.2.

ਤਿਹ ਤੇਜ ਜਰੇ ਜਗ ਜੀਵ ਸਬੈ ॥
tih tej jare jag jeev sabai |

With the heat of that ember, all the creatures of the world started to rot,

ਤਿਹ ਡਾਰ ਦਯੋ ਮਧਿ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਤਬੈ ॥
tih ddaar dayo madh sindh tabai |

With that blaze, all the beings of the world began to burn. Then Shiva in order to pacify his anger threw his weapon and anger into the sea

ਸੋਊ ਡਾਰ ਦਯੋ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਮਹਿ ਨ ਗਯੋ ॥
soaoo ddaar dayo sindh meh na gayo |

But when he was thrown, the sea did not receive him.

ਤਿਹ ਆਨਿ ਜਲੰਧਰ ਰੂਪ ਲਯੋ ॥੩॥
tih aan jalandhar roop layo |3|

But it could not be drowned and manifested itself in the from of the demon Jalandhar.3.

ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਯੋ ਅਸੁਰ ਬਲਵਾਨਾ ॥
eih bidh bhayo asur balavaanaa |

Thus appeared the mighty giant and

ਲਯੋ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਕੋ ਲੂਟ ਖਜਾਨਾ ॥
layo kuber ko loott khajaanaa |

In this way, this demon grew in strength excessively and he also looted the treasure of Kuber.

ਪਕਰ ਸਮਸ ਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਰੁਵਾਯੋ ॥
pakar samas te braham ruvaayo |

He cried to Brahma by holding his beard

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਜੀਤਿ ਸਿਰ ਛਤ੍ਰ ਢੁਰਾਯੋ ॥੪॥
eindr jeet sir chhatr dturaayo |4|

He caught Brahma and caused him to weep, and conquering Indra, He seized his canopy and swung over his head.4.

ਜੀਤਿ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਪਾਇ ਲਗਾਏ ॥
jeet devataa paae lagaae |

Having conquered the gods, he set his foot on the throne

ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਨਿਜ ਪੁਰੀ ਬਸਾਏ ॥
rudr bisan nij puree basaae |

After conquering the gods, he caused them to fall at his feet and forced Vishnu and Shiva to abide only within their own cities.l

ਚਉਦਹ ਰਤਨ ਆਨਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ॥
chaudah ratan aan raakhe grih |

(He) brought fourteen gems and put them in his house.

ਜਹਾ ਤਹਾ ਬੈਠਾਏ ਨਵ ਗ੍ਰਹ ॥੫॥
jahaa tahaa baitthaae nav grah |5|

He gathered all the fourteen jewels in his own house and fixed the polaces on nine planets at his will.5.

ਜੀਤਿ ਬਸਾਏ ਨਿਜ ਪੁਰੀ ਅਸੁਰ ਸਕਲ ਅਸੁਰਾਰ ॥
jeet basaae nij puree asur sakal asuraar |

The demon-king, conquering all, caused them to live in his own territory.

ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀ ਮਹੇਸ ਕੀ ਗਿਰਿ ਕੈਲਾਸ ਮਧਾਰ ॥੬॥
poojaa karee mahes kee gir kailaas madhaar |6|

ਧ੍ਰਯਾਨ ਬਿਧਾਨ ਕਰੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਾ ॥
dhrayaan bidhaan kare bahu bhaataa |

(Jalandhar) got Shiva's attention with many methods

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
sevaa karee adhik din raataa |

They performed various types of mediation, worship and service day and service day and night for a long time.

ਐਸ ਭਾਤਿ ਤਿਹ ਕਾਲ ਬਿਤਾਯੋ ॥
aais bhaat tih kaal bitaayo |

In this way he spent some time.

ਅਬ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਵ ਊਪਰ ਆਯੋ ॥੭॥
ab prasang siv aoopar aayo |7|

ਭੂਤਰਾਟ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਅਤੁਲ ਬਲ ॥
bhootaraatt ko nirakh atul bal |

Seeing the indomitable power of Shiva,

ਕਾਪਤ ਭਏ ਅਨਿਕ ਅਰਿ ਜਲ ਥਲ ॥
kaapat bhe anik ar jal thal |

All the enemies on water and land trembled, seeing the innumerable forces of Shiva, the lord of ghosts.

ਦਛ ਪ੍ਰਜਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਤ ਬਰ ॥
dachh prajaapat hot nripat bar |

At that time there was a great king named Daksha Prajapati

ਦਸ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਦੁਹਿਤਾ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ॥੮॥
das sahansr duhitaa taa ke ghar |8|

Out of all the kings, the king Daksha was most respected, who had ten thousand daughters in his home.8.

ਤਿਨ ਇਕ ਬਾਰ ਸੁਯੰਬਰ ਕੀਯਾ ॥
tin ik baar suyanbar keeyaa |

He sang once

ਦਸ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਦੁਹਿਤਾਇਸ ਦੀਯਾ ॥
das sahansr duhitaaeis deeyaa |

Once that king held a swayyamvara at his place and permitted his ten thousand daughters.

ਜੋ ਬਰੁ ਰੁਚੇ ਬਰਹੁ ਅਬ ਸੋਈ ॥
jo bar ruche barahu ab soee |

He who likes the water, should take that water now.

ਊਚ ਨੀਚ ਰਾਜਾ ਹੋਇ ਕੋਈ ॥੯॥
aooch neech raajaa hoe koee |9|

To wed according to their interest forsaking all thought of high and low in society.9.

ਜੋ ਜੋ ਜਿਸੈ ਰੁਚਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਬਰਾ ॥
jo jo jisai ruchaa tin baraa |

He took the boon that he liked.

ਸਬ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਉਚਰਾ ॥
sab prasang nahee jaat ucharaa |

Each one of them wed whomsoever she liked, but all such anecdotes cannot be described

ਜੋ ਬਿਰਤਾਤ ਕਹਿ ਛੋਰਿ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥
jo birataat keh chhor sunaaoo |

If I tell the whole story from the beginning,

ਕਥਾ ਬ੍ਰਿਧਿ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰਾਊ ॥੧੦॥
kathaa bridh te adhik ddaraaoo |10|

It all of them are narrated in detail, then there will always be the fear of increasing the volume.10.

ਚਾਰ ਸੁਤਾ ਕਸਪ ਕਹ ਦੀਨੀ ॥
chaar sutaa kasap kah deenee |

Prajapati gave four daughters to Kashap (sage).
