ਹਮੈ ਨਗਜ ਸੈਨਾ ਮੌ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
hamai nagaj sainaa mau deejai |Hand us over to the Nagaj (hill) army
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਖਿ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧੨॥
hindoo dharam raakh kar leejai |12|So that we can save (our) Hindu religion. 12.
ਨਾਵਨ ਕੌ ਸੁਭ ਵਾਰੋ ਦਿਯੋ ॥
naavan kau subh vaaro diyo |By pretending to take a bath
ਬਾਲਨ ਸਹਿਤ ਦੇਸ ਮਗੁ ਲਿਯੋ ॥
baalan sahit des mag liyo |With the children (they took the way to their) country.
ਰਜਪੂਤਨ ਰੂਮਾਲ ਫਿਰਾਏ ॥
rajapootan roomaal firaae |Then Rajputanis spread handkerchiefs
ਹਮ ਮਿਲਨੇ ਹਜਰਤਿ ਕੌ ਆਏ ॥੧੩॥
ham milane hajarat kau aae |13|That we have come to meet the king. 13.
ਤਿਨ ਕੌ ਕਿਨੀ ਨ ਚੋਟਿ ਚਲਾਈ ॥
tin kau kinee na chott chalaaee |No one attacked them.
ਇਹ ਰਾਨੀ ਹਜਰਤਿ ਪਹ ਆਈ ॥
eih raanee hajarat pah aaee |(And perceived that) this queen has come to the king.
ਤੁਪਕ ਤਲੋ ਤੈ ਜਬੈ ਉਬਰੇ ॥
tupak talo tai jabai ubare |When they came out of the gunfire,
ਤਬ ਹੀ ਕਾਢਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨੈ ਪਰੇ ॥੧੪॥
tab hee kaadt kripaanai pare |14|Only then did the kirpans fall down. 14.
ਜੌਨੈ ਸੂਰ ਸਰੋਹੀ ਬਹੈ ॥
jauanai soor sarohee bahai |Whichever warrior used to wield the sword,
ਜੈਬੋ ਟਿਕੈ ਨ ਬਖਤਰ ਰਹੈ ॥
jaibo ttikai na bakhatar rahai |So neither the iron cuffs ('jabo') lasted nor the armor.
ਏਕੈ ਤੀਰ ਏਕ ਅਸਵਾਰਾ ॥
ekai teer ek asavaaraa |An arrow for a rider
ਏਕੈ ਘਾਇ ਏਕ ਗਜ ਭਾਰਾ ॥੧੫॥
ekai ghaae ek gaj bhaaraa |15|And one wound (of grace) (was enough) for a big elephant. 15.
ਜਾ ਪਰ ਪਰੈ ਖੜਗ ਕੀ ਧਾਰਾ ॥
jaa par parai kharrag kee dhaaraa |On whom the edge of the sword fell.
ਜਨੁਕ ਬਹੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਪਰ ਆਰਾ ॥
januk bahe birachh par aaraa |(It seemed) as if a saw was running on the blade.
ਕਟਿ ਕਟਿ ਸੁਭਟ ਧਰਨਿ ਪਰ ਪਰਹੀ ॥
katt katt subhatt dharan par parahee |Surveer was falling on the ground after being cut.
ਚਟਪਟ ਆਨਿ ਅਪਛਰਾ ਬਰਹੀ ॥੧੬॥
chattapatt aan apachharaa barahee |16|(And they) were suddenly showered with rain. 16.

ਰਨਛੋਰੈ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੀਨੋ ਕੋਪ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
ranachhorai raghunaath singh keeno kop apaar |Ranchhod and Raghunath Singh were very angry.
ਸਾਹ ਝਰੋਖਾ ਕੇ ਤਰੇ ਬਾਹਤ ਭੇ ਹਥਿਯਾਰ ॥੧੭॥
saah jharokhaa ke tare baahat bhe hathiyaar |17|He started firing weapons under the king's window. 17.
ਭੁਜੰਗ ਛੰਦ ॥
bhujang chhand |Bhujang Verse:
ਕਹੂੰ ਧੋਪ ਬਾਕੈ ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਨ ਛੂਟੈ ॥
kahoon dhop baakai kahoon baan chhoottai |Somewhere beautiful swords were moving and some arrows were released
ਕਹੂੰ ਬੀਰ ਬਾਨੀਨ ਕੇ ਬਕਤ੍ਰ ਟੂਟੈ ॥
kahoon beer baaneen ke bakatr ttoottai |And somewhere the shields of the warriors with arrows were broken.
ਕਹੂੰ ਬਾਜ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਜਾਰਾਜ ਜੂਝੈ ॥
kahoon baaj maare gajaaraaj joojhai |Somewhere horses were killed and somewhere big elephants were fighting.
ਕਟੇ ਕੋਟਿ ਜੋਧਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਤ ਬੂਝੇ ॥੧੮॥
katte kott jodhaa nahee jaat boojhe |18|Innumerable warriors were cut down, who could not be counted. 18.

ਖਾਇ ਟਾਕਿ ਆਫੂਐ ਰਾਜ ਸਭ ਰਿਸਿ ਭਰੇ ॥
khaae ttaak aafooaai raaj sabh ris bhare |After eating four masses of opium, all the kings became angry.
ਪੋਸਤ ਭਾਗ ਸਰਾਬ ਪਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਲਰੇ ॥
posat bhaag saraab paan kar at lare |He fought well by consuming poppy seeds, bhang and alcohol.
ਸਾਹ ਝਰੋਖਾ ਤਰੈ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਦਿਖਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
saah jharokhaa tarai charitr dikhaae kai |By showing character under the king's window
ਹੋ ਰਨਛੋਰਾ ਸੁਰ ਲੋਕ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੧੯॥
ho ranachhoraa sur lok ge sukh paae kai |19|Ranchhod went to heaven happily. 19.
ਰਨਛੋਰਹਿ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਨਿਰਖਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਿਸਿ ਭਰਿਯੋ ॥
ranachhoreh raghunaath nirakh kar ris bhariyo |Seeing Ranchhod (dead), Raghunath got very angry.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਰੈ ਧਵਾਇ ਜਾਇ ਦਲ ਮੈ ਪਰਿਯੋ ॥
taa te turai dhavaae jaae dal mai pariyo |So he drove the horse and reached the party.
ਜਾ ਕੌ ਬਹੈ ਸਰੋਹੀ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਬਾਜ ਪਰ ॥
jaa kau bahai sarohee rahai na baaj par |He who was struck by the sword could not stay on the horse.
ਹੋ ਗਿਰੈ ਮੂਰਛਨਾ ਖਾਇ ਤੁਰਤ ਸੋ ਭੂਮਿ ਪਰ ॥੨੦॥
ho girai moorachhanaa khaae turat so bhoom par |20|He would immediately faint and fall on the ground. 20.
ਧਨਿ ਧਨਿ ਔਰੰਗਸਾਹ ਤਿਨੈ ਭਾਖਤ ਭਯੋ ॥
dhan dhan aauarangasaah tinai bhaakhat bhayo |Seeing them, Aurangzeb also started saying blessed.
ਘੇਰਹੁ ਇਨ ਕੌ ਜਾਇ ਦਲਹਿ ਆਇਸ ਦਯੋ ॥
gherahu in kau jaae daleh aaeis dayo |(And permitted his) army to go and besiege them.
ਜੋ ਐਸੇ ਦੋ ਚਾਰ ਔਰ ਭਟ ਧਾਵਹੀ ॥
jo aaise do chaar aauar bhatt dhaavahee |If two or four such warriors come
ਹੋ ਬੰਕ ਲੰਕ ਗੜ ਜੀਤਿ ਛਿਨਿਕ ਮੋ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਹੀ ॥੨੧॥
ho bank lank garr jeet chhinik mo layaavahee |21|Then they will bring victory in the destruction of the beautiful fort of Lanka. 21.
ਹਾਕਿ ਹਾਕਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਹਾ ਬੀਰ ਸੂਰਾ ਧਏ ॥
haak haak kar mahaa beer sooraa dhe |The warriors were marching forward.
ਠਿਲਾ ਠਿਲੀ ਬਰਛਿਨ ਸੌ ਕਰਤ ਤਹਾ ਭਏ ॥
tthilaa tthilee barachhin sau karat tahaa bhe |They were pushing there with spears.
ਕੜਾਕੜੀ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਮਚਾਯੋ ਆਇ ਕਰ ॥
karraakarree maidaan machaayo aae kar |(They) have come and waged a fierce war
ਹੋ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਾਦਿਤ੍ਰ ਅਨੇਕ ਬਜਾਇ ਕਰ ॥੨੨॥
ho bhaat bhaat baaditr anek bajaae kar |22|And various bells were rung. 22.

ਤੁਮਲ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਤ ਤਹ ਭਯੋ ॥
tumal judh machat tah bhayo |There was a bloody war.
ਲੈ ਰਘੁਨਾਥ ਸੈਨ ਸਮੁਹਯੋ ॥
lai raghunaath sain samuhayo |Raghunath came forward with an army.
ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਸੋ ਬਜੇ ਨਗਾਰੇ ॥
bhaat bhaat so baje nagaare |Bhant bhant nagare hours.
ਖੇਤਿ ਮੰਡਿ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹਕਾਰੇ ॥੨੩॥
khet mandd sooramaa hakaare |23|After creating a war, the heroes started to attack each other. 23.
