ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਸੋਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਕੀ ਕੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੭॥
chhaadd kai sok trilokee ke lok bilok prabhaa sabh hee bal jaavai |7|The people of the three peoples were overcome by their sufferings and were overwhelmed by seeing (their) beauty. ॥7॥
ਕੋਕ ਕੀ ਰੀਤਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਰੈ ਸੁਭ ਕਾਮ ਕਲੋਲ ਅਮੋਲ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
kok kee reet so preet karai subh kaam kalol amol kamaavai |(He) used to love according to the method of Koka Shastra and performed many kinds of good deeds.
ਬਾਰਹਿ ਬਾਰ ਰਮੈ ਰੁਚਿ ਸੋ ਦੋਊ ਹੇਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਤਨ ਕੀ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
baareh baar ramai ruch so doaoo her prabhaa tan kee bal jaavai |Both used to enjoy Raman again and again. The beauty of their bodies was awe-inspiring.
ਬੀਰੀ ਚਬਾਇ ਸਿੰਗਾਰ ਬਨਾਇ ਸੁ ਨੈਨ ਨਚਾਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੁਸਕਾਵੈ ॥
beeree chabaae singaar banaae su nain nachaae milai musakaavai |They met and laughed by chewing paan, grooming and rolling their eyes.
ਮਾਨਹੁ ਬੀਰ ਜੁਟੇ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਸਿਤ ਤਾਨਿ ਕਮਾਨਨ ਬਾਨ ਚਲਾਵੈ ॥੮॥
maanahu beer jutte ran mai sit taan kamaanan baan chalaavai |8|(It seemed) as if two warriors were engaged in battle and were shooting sharp arrows from their bows.8.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥
chauapee |twenty four:
ਐਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਦੁਹੁਨ ਮੈ ਭਈ ॥
aaisee preet duhun mai bhee |There was such love between both of them
ਬਿਸਰਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਲਜਾ ਗਈ ॥
bisar lok kee lajaa gee |That (they) also forgot the people's lodge.
ਨੋਖੋ ਨੇਹ ਨਿਗੋਡੋ ਲਾਗੋ ॥
nokho neh nigoddo laago |It felt like such a bad, unique love
ਜਾ ਤੇ ਨੀਂਦ ਭੂਖਿ ਦੋਊ ਭਾਗੋ ॥੯॥
jaa te neend bhookh doaoo bhaago |9|Due to which both the sleepy and the hungry ran away. 9.
ਏਕ ਦਿਵਸ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮੀਤ ਬੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
ek divas triy meet bulaayo |One day the woman called a friend.
ਸੋਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਵਤਨਿਨ ਤਕਾਯੋ ॥
sot sang savatanin takaayo |The sleepers saw her sleeping (with her).
ਭੇਵ ਰਛਪਾਲਨ ਕੋ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
bhev rachhapaalan ko deeno |(They gave this) secret to the guards.
ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਕੋਪ ਆਤਮਾ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੦॥
tin ko kop aatamaa keeno |10|He created a lot of anger in his mind. 10.
ਰਛਪਾਲ ਕ੍ਰੁਧਿਤ ਅਤਿ ਭਏ ॥
rachhapaal krudhit at bhe |The guards were very angry
ਰਾਨੀ ਹੁਤੀ ਤਹੀ ਤੇ ਗਏ ॥
raanee hutee tahee te ge |And went where the queen was.
ਜਾਰ ਸਹਿਤ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਲਹਿ ਲੀਨੋ ॥
jaar sahit taa ko leh leeno |Caught him with a friend.
ਬਿਵਤ ਹਨਨ ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਕੌ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੧੧॥
bivat hanan duhoonan kau keeno |11|Planned to kill both of them. 11.
ਤਬ ਰਾਨੀ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰੀ ॥
tab raanee ih bhaat uchaaree |Then the queen said thus,
ਸੁਨੋ ਰਛਕੋ ਬਾਤ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥
suno rachhako baat hamaaree |O watchman! listen to me.
ਮੀਤ ਮਰੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਮਰਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
meet mare nrip triy mar jai hai |With the death of a friend, the queen will also die
ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਮਰੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੋ ਛੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੨॥
triyaa marai raajaa ko chhai hai |12|And with the death of the queen, the king will also die. 12.
ਦੋ ਕੁਕਟ ਕੁਕਟੀ ਮੰਗਵਾਈ ॥
do kukatt kukattee mangavaaee |(He) called for two roosters and hens
ਸਖਿਯਹਿ ਬੋਲ ਤਿਨੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਖ੍ਵਾਈ ॥
sakhiyeh bol tinai bikh khvaaee |And telling his friends, he poisoned them.
ਨਿਕਟ ਆਪਨੈ ਦੁਹੁਅਨ ਆਨੋ ॥
nikatt aapanai duhuan aano |He called both of them to him.
ਮੂੜ ਰਛਕਨ ਚਰਿਤ ਨ ਜਾਨੋ ॥੧੩॥
moorr rachhakan charit na jaano |13|But the stupid guard could not understand the character. 13.
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਮਾਰਿ ਕੁਕਟ ਕੋ ਦਯੋ ॥
pratham maar kukatt ko dayo |Killed the rooster first.
ਕੁਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਧ ਬਧ ਭਯੋ ॥
kukattee ko bin badh badh bhayo |The chicken died without killing.
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਾਸ ਕੁਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਭਯੋ ॥
bahur naas kukattee ko bhayo |Then the chicken perished
ਪਲਕ ਬਿਖੈ ਕੁਕਟੋ ਮਰਿ ਗਯੋ ॥੧੪॥
palak bikhai kukatto mar gayo |14|And the rooster also died in a moment. 14.
ਰਾਨੀ ਬਾਚ ॥
raanee baach |Rani said:
ਸਨਹੁ ਲੋਗ ਮੈ ਤੁਮੈ ਸੁਨਾਊ ॥
sanahu log mai tumai sunaaoo |Hey people! Listen, I tell you.
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਮਰੇ ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਗਵਾਊ ॥
mitr mare mai praan gavaaoo |With the death of a friend, I will give up life.
ਮੋਹਿ ਮਰੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਮਰਿ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥
mohi mare raajaa mar jai hai |By my death the king will die.
ਤੁਮਰੇ ਕਹੋ ਹਾਥ ਕਾ ਐ ਹੈ ॥੧੫॥
tumare kaho haath kaa aai hai |15|(Show good) What will come to your hands. 15.
ਹੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੌ ਜਿਯਤ ਉਬਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
ho raajaa jau jiyat ubar hai |If the king lives
ਤੁਮਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਿ ਹੈ ॥
tumaree sadaa paalanaa kar hai |He will follow you forever.
ਜੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਜੁਤ ਸ੍ਵਰਗ ਸਿਧੈ ਹੈ ॥
jo nrip triy jut svarag sidhai hai |If the king will die along with his wife
ਤੁਮ ਧਨ ਤੇ ਵੈ ਜਿਯਤੇ ਜੈ ਹੈ ॥੧੬॥
tum dhan te vai jiyate jai hai |16|Then you too will be deprived of that wealth while living. 16.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਕ੍ਯੋਨ ਨ ਦਰਬੁ ਅਤਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
taa te kayon na darab at leejai |So why don't you take more money
ਤਿਹੂੰ ਜਿਯਨ ਕੀ ਰਛਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
tihoon jiyan kee rachhaa keejai |And protect the three living beings.
ਜੜਨ ਕੁਕਟ ਕੋ ਚਰਿਤ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jarran kukatt ko charit nihaariyo |(Those) fools saw the character of roosters
ਜਾਰ ਸਹਿਤ ਰਾਨੀਯਹਿ ਨ ਮਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੧੭॥
jaar sahit raaneeyeh na maariyo |17|And did not kill the queen with friends. 17.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਇਸਕਮਤੀ ਇਹ ਛਲ ਭਏ ਕੁਕਟ ਕੁਕਟਿਯਹਿ ਘਾਇ ॥
eisakamatee ih chhal bhe kukatt kukattiyeh ghaae |Ishq Mati showed this character by killing the rooster and the hen
ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਉਬਾਰਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ ਸਹਿਤ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਡਰ ਜੜਨ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥੧੮॥
praan ubaariyo priy sahit nrip ddar jarran dikhaae |18|And by showing the fear (of the king's death) to those fools, they saved their lives with their loved ones. 18.

ਤਿਨ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਚਾਰ ਬਿਚਾਰੇ ॥
tin ih bhaat bichaar bichaare |They (guards) thought like this
