ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਇਹ ਕੇ ਬਧ ਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਉਪਾਈ ॥
eih ke badh ko ek upaaee |There is only one way to kill it.
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੋ ਕਹਿ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥
so prabh to keh kahat sunaaee |“I relate to you the remedy for killing him
ਬਿਸਨ ਆਇ ਜੋ ਯਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਰੈ ॥
bisan aae jo yaa sang larai |If Vishnu will come and fight with it
ਤਾਹਿ ਭਜਾਵੈ ਬਿਲਮੁ ਨ ਕਰੈ ॥੧੫੩੮॥
taeh bhajaavai bilam na karai |1538|Even if Vishnu comes to fight with him, he will cause him to run away without delay.1538.
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਭਾਨ ਬੁਲਾਵਹੁ ॥
eindr dvaadas bhaan bulaavahu |Invoke Indra and the twelve suns
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਗਿਆਰਹ ਮਿਲ ਕਰਿ ਧਾਵਹੁ ॥
rudr giaarah mil kar dhaavahu |“Call Indra and twelve Suryas and in unison with eleven Rudras attack him
ਸੋਮ ਸੁ ਜਮ ਆਠੋ ਬਸ ਜੋਧੇ ॥
som su jam aattho bas jodhe |Moon, Yama and eight basu (also take).
ਐਸੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਹਰਹਿੰ ਪ੍ਰਬੋਧੇ ॥੧੫੩੯॥
aaisee bidh bidh harahin prabodhe |1539|Call also Chandrama and eight Yama warriors,” Brahma told Krishna all such method.1539.

ਏ ਸਭ ਸੁਭਟ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਜੁਧ ਕਾਜ ਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਹੀ ॥
e sabh subhatt bulaae judh kaaj ran pragattahee |Summon all these warriors directly to the battlefield to fight.
ਆਪੁਨੇ ਦਲਹਿਾਂ ਜਗਾਇ ਕਹੋ ਜੂਝ ਏਊ ਕਰਹਿਾਂ ॥੧੫੪੦॥
aapune dalahiaan jagaae kaho joojh eaoo karahiaan |1540|“Move to the battlefield, after calling all these warriors and challenging the king, make your army fight with him.1540.

ਪੁਨਿ ਅਪਛਰਾ ਸਕਲ ਬੁਲਾਵਹੁ ॥
pun apachharaa sakal bulaavahu |Then call all the adversaries
ਇਹ ਕੀ ਅਗ੍ਰਜ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨਚਾਵਹੁ ॥
eih kee agraj drisatt nachaavahu |“Then call all the heavenly damsels and make them dance before him
ਕਾਮਦੇਵ ਕਉ ਆਇਸ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
kaamadev kau aaeis deejai |Allow Kamadeva
ਯਾ ਕੋ ਚਿਤ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧੫੪੧॥
yaa ko chit mohi kar leejai |1541|Command also the god of love and make his mind infatuated.”1541.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਤਬਹਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਸੋਊ ਕੀਓ ਜੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਸਿਖ ਦੀਨ ॥
tabeh krisan soaoo keeo jo brahamaa sikh deen |Then as told by Brahma, Krishna did all that
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸੂਰ ਸਬ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਬਸ ਜਮਹਿ ਬੋਲਿ ਕਰ ਲੀਨ ॥੧੫੪੨॥
eindr soor sab rudr bas jameh bol kar leen |1542|He called all Indra, Surya, Rudra and Yamas.1542.

ਨਿਕਟਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਕੇ ਤਬ ਸਬ ਆਏ ॥
nikatt sayaam ke tab sab aae |Then all came close to Sri Krishna
ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਹੋਇ ਮਨ ਜੁਧਹਿ ਧਾਏ ॥
krodh hoe man judheh dhaae |Then all came to Krishna and getting enraged marched away for war
ਇਤ ਸਬ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਜੁਧ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
eit sab mil kai judh machaayo |Here everyone has created a war together
ਉਤ ਅਪਛਰਾ ਨਭਿ ਝਰਲਾਯੋ ॥੧੫੪੩॥
aut apachharaa nabh jharalaayo |1543|On this side they began to wage war and on the other side, the heavenly damsels began to dance in the sky.1543.

ਕੈ ਕੈ ਕਟਾਛ ਨਚੈ ਤੇਊ ਭਾਮਿਨ ਗੀਤ ਸਬੈ ਮਿਲ ਕੈ ਸੁਰ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
kai kai kattaachh nachai teaoo bhaamin geet sabai mil kai sur gaavai |Throwing their side-glances, the beautiful young damsels began to dance and sing in melodious voices
ਬੀਨ ਪਖਾਵਜ ਤਾਲ ਬਜੈ ਡਫ ਭਾਤਿ ਅਨੇਕਨ ਭਾਉ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ॥
been pakhaavaj taal bajai ddaf bhaat anekan bhaau dikhaavai |Playing on the lyres, drums and tabors etc.,
ਸਾਰੰਗ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਾਲਸਿਰੀ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਨਟ ਸੰਗ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ॥
saarang soratth maalasiree ar raamakalee natt sang milaavai |They exhibited various kinds of gestures
ਭੋਗਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕਿਤੀ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਮਨ ਜੋਗਨ ਕੇ ਦ੍ਰਵ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧੫੪੪॥
bhogan mohi kee baat kitee sun kai man jogan ke drav jaavai |1544|They sang in the musical modes of Sarang, Sorath, Malvi, Ramkali, Nat etc., seeing all this, let us not talk of the enjoyers, even the Yogis got attracted.1544.
ਉਤ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨਿਰਤ ਕਰੈ ਨਭ ਮੈ ਇਤ ਬੀਰ ਸਬੈ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੁਧ ਕਰੈ ॥
aut sundar nirat karai nabh mai it beer sabai mil judh karai |On that side, in the sky, an elegant dance is going on
ਬਰਛੀ ਕਰਵਾਰ ਕਟਾਰਨ ਸਿਉ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਅਤਿ ਕ੍ਰੁਧ ਭਰੈ ॥
barachhee karavaar kattaaran siau jab hee man mai at krudh bharai |On this side, the warriors are engaged in war taking their lances, swords and daggers
ਕਬਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਅਯੋਧਨ ਮੈ ਰਦਨ ਛਦ ਪੀਸ ਕੈ ਆਨਿ ਪਰੈ ਨ ਡਰੈ ॥
kab sayaam ayodhan mai radan chhad pees kai aan parai na ddarai |The poet says that these warriors have come to fight in the war-arena, fearlessly gnashing their teeth
ਲਰਿ ਕੈ ਮਰਿ ਕੈ ਜੁ ਕਬੰਧ ਉਠੈ ਅਰਿ ਕੈ ਸੁ ਅਪਛਰ ਤਾਹਿ ਬਰੈ ॥੧੫੪੫॥
lar kai mar kai ju kabandh utthai ar kai su apachhar taeh barai |1545|Those who die while fighting and the trunks that rise in the battlefield, the heavenly damsels are relating them.1545.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਬਡੋ ਜੁਧੁ ਭੂਪਤਿ ਕੀਓ ਮਨ ਮੈ ਕੋਪ ਬਢਾਇ ॥
baddo judh bhoopat keeo man mai kop badtaae |The king, in fury, waged a dreadful war and all the gods had to face extreme difficulties.1546.
ਸਬ ਦੇਵਨ ਕੋ ਦਿਨ ਪਰੈ ਸੋ ਕਬਿ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਾਇ ॥੧੫੪੬॥
sab devan ko din parai so kab kahat sunaae |1546|Bad days have come upon all the gods, the poet tells about them. 1546.
ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

ਗਿਆਰਹ ਰੁਦ੍ਰਨ ਕੋ ਸਰ ਬਾਇਸ ਦ੍ਵਾਦਸ ਭਾਨਨ ਚਉਬਿਸਿ ਮਾਰੇ ॥
giaarah rudran ko sar baaeis dvaadas bhaanan chaubis maare |The king shot twenty-two arrows to the eleven Rudras and twenty-four to twelve Suryas
ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਸਹੰਸ੍ਰ ਖੜਾਨਨ ਕੋ ਖਟ ਪਾਚਸਿ ਕਾਨ੍ਰਹ ਕੋ ਕੋਪ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰੇ ॥
eindr sahansr kharraanan ko khatt paachas kaanrah ko kop prahaare |He shot one thousand arrows towards Indra, six to Kartikeya and twenty-five to Krishna
ਸੋਮ ਕੋ ਸਾਠ ਗਨੇਸ ਕੋ ਸਤਰ ਆਠ ਬਸੂਨ ਕੋ ਚਉਸਠ ਡਾਰੇ ॥
som ko saatth ganes ko satar aatth basoon ko chausatth ddaare |He shot sixty arrows to Chandrama, seventy-eight to Ganesh and sixty-four to Vasus of gods
ਸਾਤ ਕੁਬੇਰ ਕੋ ਨਉ ਜਮਰਾਜਹਿ ਏਕ ਹੀ ਏਕ ਸੋ ਅਉਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥੧੫੪੭॥
saat kuber ko nau jamaraajeh ek hee ek so aaur sanghaare |1547|Seven arrows were shot to Kuber and nine to Yama and killed the remaining ones by one arrow each.1547.
ਬਾਨਨ ਬੇਧਿ ਜਲਾਧਿਪਿ ਕਉ ਨਲ ਕੂਬਰ ਅਉ ਜਮ ਕੇ ਉਰਿ ਮਾਰਿਓ ॥
baanan bedh jalaadhip kau nal koobar aau jam ke ur maario |After piercing Varuna with his arrows, he also shot an arrow in the heart of Nalkoober and Yama
ਅਉਰ ਕਹਾ ਲਗਿ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਗਨੈ ਜੁ ਹੁਤੇ ਰਨ ਮੈ ਸਬਹੂਨ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
aaur kahaa lag sayaam ganai ju hute ran mai sabahoon prahaario |How to count the others? All those who were engaged in war, they all received blows from the king
ਸੰਕਤਮਾਨ ਭਏ ਸਬ ਹੀ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਨਹੀ ਭੂਪ ਕੀ ਓਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਓ ॥
sankatamaan bhe sab hee kinahoon nahee bhoop kee or nihaario |All become doubtful about their own protection, none of them took courage to see towards the king
ਮਾਨੋ ਜੁਗੰਤ ਕੇ ਅੰਤ ਸਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਿਓ ਕਲਿ ਕਾਲ ਤਿਨੋ ਸੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਓ ॥੧੫੪੮॥
maano jugant ke ant samai pragattio kal kaal tino su bichaario |1548|They all considered the king as Kal (death) who manifested himself at the end of the age in order to destroy all of them.1548.
