ਰੋਹ ਦਿਖਾਲੀ ਦਿਤੀਆ ਵਰਿਆਮੀ ਤੁਰੇ ਨਚਾਏ ॥
roh dikhaalee diteea variaamee ture nachaae |Great fury was visulised and the brave fighters caused the horses to dance.
ਘੁਰੇ ਦਮਾਮੇ ਦੋਹਰੇ ਜਮ ਬਾਹਣ ਜਿਉ ਅਰੜਾਏ ॥
ghure damaame dohare jam baahan jiau ararraae |The double-trumpets sounded like the loud voice of the male buffalo, the vehicle of Yama.

daano deo anaagee sanghar rachiaa |The demons and gods have started a continuous war.
ਫੁਲ ਖਿੜੇ ਜਣ ਬਾਗੀਂ ਬਾਣੇ ਜੋਧਿਆਂ ॥
ful khirre jan baageen baane jodhiaan |The garments of the warriors appear like flowers in the garden.
ਭੂਤਾਂ ਇਲਾਂ ਕਾਗੀਂ ਗੋਸਤ ਭਖਿਆ ॥
bhootaan ilaan kaageen gosat bhakhiaa |The ghosts, vultures and crows have eaten the flesh.
ਹੁੰਮੜ ਧੁੰਮੜ ਜਾਗੀ ਘਤੀ ਸੂਰਿਆਂ ॥੨੪॥
hunmarr dhunmarr jaagee ghatee sooriaan |24|The brave fighters have begun to run about.24.
ਸਟ ਪਈ ਨਗਾਰੇ ਦਲਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ॥
satt pee nagaare dalaan mukaabalaa |The trumpet was beaten and the armies attack each other.
ਦਿਤੇ ਦੇਉ ਭਜਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਕੈ ਰਾਕਸੀਂ ॥
dite deo bhajaaee mil kai raakaseen |The demons have gathered together and have caused the gods to flee.
ਲੋਕੀ ਤਿਹੀ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ਦੋਹੀ ਆਪਣੀ ॥
lokee tihee firaahee dohee aapanee |They exhibited their authority in the three worlds.
ਦੁਰਗਾ ਦੀ ਸਾਮ ਤਕਾਈ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਡਰਦਿਆਂ ॥
duragaa dee saam takaaee devaan ddaradiaan |The gods, having been frightened went under the refuge of Durga.
ਆਂਦੀ ਚੰਡਿ ਚੜਾਈ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਕਸਾ ॥੨੫॥
aandee chandd charraaee ute raakasaa |25|They caused the goddess Chandi to wage war with demons.25.

ਆਈ ਫੇਰ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਖਬਰੀ ਪਾਈਆ ॥
aaee fer bhavaanee khabaree paaeea |The demons hear the news that the goddess Bhavani has come again.
ਦੈਤ ਵਡੇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਹੋਏ ਏਕਠੇ ॥
dait vadde abhimaanee hoe ekatthe |The highly egoist demons gathered together.
ਲੋਚਨ ਧੂਮ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਰਾਇ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ॥
lochan dhoom gumaanee raae bulaaeaa |The king Sumbh sent for the egoist Lochan Dhum.
ਜਗ ਵਿਚ ਵਡਾ ਦਾਨੋ ਆਪ ਕਹਾਇਆ ॥
jag vich vaddaa daano aap kahaaeaa |He caused himself to be called the great demon.
ਸਟ ਪਈ ਖਰਚਾਮੀ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਲਿਆਵਣੀ ॥੨੬॥
satt pee kharachaamee duragaa liaavanee |26|The drum enveloped with the hide of donkey was struck and it was proclaimed that Durga would be brought.26.

ਕੜਕ ਉਠੀ ਰਣ ਚੰਡੀ ਫਉਜਾਂ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ॥
karrak utthee ran chanddee faujaan dekh kai |Seeing the armies in the battlefield, Chandi shouted loudly.
ਧੂਹਿ ਮਿਆਨੋ ਖੰਡਾ ਹੋਈ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ॥
dhoohi miaano khanddaa hoee saahamane |She pulled her double-edged sword from her scabbard and came before the enemy.
ਸਭੇ ਬੀਰ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਧੂਮਰਨੈਣ ਦੇ ॥
sabhe beer sanghaare dhoomaranain de |She killed all the warriors of Dhumar Nain.
ਜਣ ਲੈ ਕਟੇ ਆਰੇ ਦਰਖਤ ਬਾਢੀਆਂ ॥੨੭॥
jan lai katte aare darakhat baadteean |27|It seems that the carpenters have chopped the trees with the saw.27.

ਚੋਬੀਂ ਧਉਂਸ ਬਜਾਈ ਦਲਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਾ ॥
chobeen dhauns bajaaee dalaan mukaabalaa |The drummers sounded the drums and the armies attacked each other.
ਰੋਹ ਭਵਾਨੀ ਆਈ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਕਸਾਂ ॥
roh bhavaanee aaee ute raakasaan |The infuriated Bhavani lodged the attack over the demons.
ਖਬੈ ਦਸਤ ਨਚਾਈ ਸੀਹਣ ਸਾਰ ਦੀ ॥
khabai dasat nachaaee seehan saar dee |With her left hand, she caused the dance of the lionss of steel (sword).
ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤਨ ਲਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਰੰਗੁਲੀ ॥
bahutiaan de tan laaee keetee rangulee |She struck it on the bodies of many worriors and made it colourful.
ਭਾਈਆਂ ਮਾਰਨ ਭਾਈ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਜਾਣਿ ਕੈ ॥
bhaaeean maaran bhaaee duragaa jaan kai |The brothers kill brothers mistaking them for Durga.
ਰੋਹ ਹੋਇ ਚਲਾਈ ਰਾਕਸਿ ਰਾਇ ਨੂੰ ॥
roh hoe chalaaee raakas raae noo |Having been infuriated, she struck it on the king of the demons.
ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਦੀਆ ਪਠਾਈ ਲੋਚਨ ਧੂਮ ਨੂੰ ॥
jam pur deea patthaaee lochan dhoom noo |Lochan Dhum was sent to the city of Yama.
ਜਾਪੇ ਦਿਤੀ ਸਾਈ ਮਾਰਨ ਸੁੰਭ ਦੀ ॥੨੮॥
jaape ditee saaee maaran sunbh dee |28|It seems the she gave the advance money for the killing of Sumbh.28.

bhane dait pukaare raaje sunbh thai |The demons ran to their king Sumbh and beseeched
ਲੋਚਨ ਧੂਮ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ਸਣੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ॥
lochan dhoom sanghaare sane sipaaheean |“Lochan Dhum has been killed alongwith his soldiers
ਚੁਣਿ ਚੁਣਿ ਜੋਧੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੇਤ ਦੈ ॥
chun chun jodhe maare andar khet dai |“She hath seleted the warriors and killed them in the battlefield
ਜਾਪਨ ਅੰਬਰਿ ਤਾਰੇ ਡਿਗਨਿ ਸੂਰਮੇ ॥
jaapan anbar taare ddigan soorame |“It seems that the warriors have fallen like the stars from the sky
ਗਿਰੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਭਾਰੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਬਿਜੁ ਦੇ ॥
gire parabat bhaare maare bij de |“The huge mountains have fallen, having been smote by the lightning
ਦੈਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਹਾਰੇ ਦਹਸਤ ਖਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
daitaan de dal haare dahasat khaae kai |“The forces of the demons have been defeated on becoming panicky
ਬਚੇ ਸੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਰਹਦੇ ਰਾਇ ਥੈ ॥੨੯॥
bache su maare maare rahade raae thai |29|“Those who were left have also been killed and the remaining have come to the king.”29.

ਰੋਹ ਹੋਇ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਰਾਕਸਿ ਰਾਇ ਨੇ ॥
roh hoe bulaae raakas raae ne |Highly enraged, the king called the demons.
ਬੈਠੇ ਮਤਾ ਪਕਾਏ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਲਿਆਵਣੀ ॥
baitthe mataa pakaae duragaa liaavanee |They decided to capture Durga.
ਚੰਡ ਅਰ ਮੁੰਡ ਪਠਾਏ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਕਟਕੁ ਦੈ ॥
chandd ar mundd patthaae bahutaa kattak dai |Chand and Mund were sent with huge forces.
ਜਾਪੇ ਛਪਰ ਛਾਏ ਬਣੀਆ ਕੇਜਮਾ ॥
jaape chhapar chhaae baneea kejamaa |It seemed that the swords coming together were like the thatched roofs.
ਜੇਤੇ ਰਾਇ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਚਲੇ ਜੁਧ ਨੋ ॥
jete raae bulaae chale judh no |All those who were called, marched for war.
ਜਣ ਜਮ ਪੁਰ ਪਕੜ ਚਲਾਏ ਸਭੇ ਮਾਰਣੇ ॥੩੦॥
jan jam pur pakarr chalaae sabhe maarane |30|It appear that they were all caught and sent to the city of Yama for killing.30.

dtol nagaare vaae dalaan mukaabalaa |The drums and trumpets were sounded and the armies attacked each other.
ਰੋਹ ਰੁਹੇਲੇ ਆਏ ਉਤੇ ਰਾਕਸਾਂ ॥
roh ruhele aae ute raakasaan |The enraged warriors marched against the demons.
ਸਭਨੀ ਤੁਰੇ ਨਚਾਏ ਬਰਛੇ ਪਕੜਿ ਕੈ ॥
sabhanee ture nachaae barachhe pakarr kai |All of them holding their daggers, caused their horses to dance.
ਬਹੁਤੇ ਮਾਰ ਗਿਰਾਏ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੇਤ ਦੈ ॥
bahute maar giraae andar khet dai |Many were killed and thrown in the battlefield.
ਤੀਰੀ ਛਹਬਰ ਲਾਈ ਬੁਠੀ ਦੇਵਤਾ ॥੩੧॥
teeree chhahabar laaee butthee devataa |31|The arrows shot by the goddess came in showers.31.
ਭੇਰੀ ਸੰਖ ਵਜਾਏ ਸੰਘਰਿ ਰਚਿਆ ॥
bheree sankh vajaae sanghar rachiaa |The drums and conches were sounded and the war began.
