ਹੋ ਯਾ ਸੌ ਨੇਹੁ ਬਢਾਇ ਨ ਯਾ ਕੋ ਕੀਜਿਯੈ ॥੬॥
ho yaa sau nehu badtaae na yaa ko keejiyai |6|Do not do this by increasing love with it. 6.

ਤਬ ਰਾਨੀ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਚਲਿ ਆਈ ॥
tab raanee nrip chal aaee |Then the queen went to the king
ਸਕਲ ਭੇਦ ਤਿਹ ਦਿਯੋ ਬਤਾਈ ॥
sakal bhed tih diyo bataaee |And told him everything.
ਤੁਹਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਦੇਸੀ ਉਹਿ ਦਈ ॥
tuhi dekhat desee uhi dee |She is showing him the gesture as you watch.
ਤੋਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਕਹਾ ਇਹ ਭਈ ॥੭॥
toree preet kahaa ih bhee |7|What kind of love do you have with it? 7.

ਤੁਹਿ ਦੇਖਤ ਇਨ ਉਹਿ ਦਈ ਦੇਸੀ ਸੁਨੁ ਮਹਾਰਾਜ ॥
tuhi dekhat in uhi dee desee sun mahaaraaj |O Maharaj! Listen, it has shown him gestures while you watch.
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਯਾ ਭਏ ਹਿਤ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਿਹ ਕਾਜ ॥੮॥
taa te tumaro yaa bhe hit keeno kih kaaj |8|Then what is the love made with it?8.
ਬੇਸ੍ਵਾ ਤੁਮ ਕੌ ਭਾਵਈ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਤੈ ਮੋਹਿ ॥
besvaa tum kau bhaavee tayaag kariyo tai mohi |You like the harlot and have abandoned me.
ਔਰ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਰੁਚੈ ਲਾਜ ਨ ਲਾਗਤ ਤੋਹਿ ॥੯॥
aauar purakh taa kau ruchai laaj na laagat tohi |9|She likes other men, don't you feel ashamed? 9.

ਜੌ ਇਨ ਕੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਤਿ ਪੈਯੈ ॥
jau in ke raakhe pat paiyai |If keeping this (prostitute) in the house gives honor ('husband').
ਤੌ ਬਰਾਗਿਨਿਨ ਕ੍ਯੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਲ੍ਯੈਯੈ ॥
tau baraaginin kayo grih layaiyai |So (then) why should the best women ('braginin') be brought into the house.
ਟਟੂਅਹਿ ਚੜਿ ਜੀਤੇ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮਾ ॥
ttattooeh charr jeete sangraamaa |If a war can be won by riding a pony,
ਕੋ ਖਰਚੈ ਤਾਜੀ ਪੈ ਦਾਮਾ ॥੧੦॥
ko kharachai taajee pai daamaa |10|Then what is the need to spend money on horses. 10.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਇਨ ਬੇਸ੍ਵਨਿ ਕੌ ਲਾਜ ਨਹਿ ਨਹਿ ਜਾਨਤ ਰਸ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
ein besvan kau laaj neh neh jaanat ras reet |These harlots have no lodge (of any kind) nor do they know the rites of love.
ਰਾਵ ਛੋਰਿ ਰੰਕਹਿ ਭਜਹਿ ਪੈਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ॥੧੧॥
raav chhor rankeh bhajeh paisan kee parateet |11|They can leave the kings for money and play with the rank and file. 11.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਤੁਮ ਸੇਤੀ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੋ ਨੇਹ ਜਤਾਵਈ ॥
tum setee baahar ko neh jataavee |It outwardly shows love to you,
ਨਿਜੁ ਹਿਤ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਟਕਾ ਜੋ ਲ੍ਯਾਵਈ ॥
nij hit vaa ke sang ttakaa jo layaavee |But (its) interest is with him who brings wealth.
ਔਰ ਸਦਨ ਮੌ ਜਾਤ ਜੁ ਯਾਹਿ ਬਤਾਇਯੈ ॥
aauar sadan mau jaat ju yaeh bataaeiyai |If it is told that it goes to someone else's house,
ਹੋ ਤਬ ਰਾਜਾ ਜੂ ਇਹ ਕਹ ਲੀਕ ਲਗਾਇਯੈ ॥੧੨॥
ho tab raajaa joo ih kah leek lagaaeiyai |12|Then O King! One should draw a line on its relationship (that is, the relationship should be terminated). 12.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਇਤ ਰਾਨੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਭਏ ਐਸ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਸਮੁਝਾਇ ॥
eit raanee raajaa bhe aais kahiyo samujhaae |Here the queen explained to the king by saying like this
ਮਨੁਛ ਪਠੈ ਉਤ ਜਾਰ ਕੋ ਬੇਸ੍ਵਾ ਲਈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥੧੩॥
manuchh patthai ut jaar ko besvaa lee bulaae |13|And that friend sent a man there and called the prostitute. 13.
ਚੌਪਈ ॥

ਜਬ ਬੇਸ੍ਵਾ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਗਈ ॥
jab besvaa taa ke ghar gee |When the prostitute went to his (man's) house
ਰਨਿਯਹਿ ਆਨਿ ਸਖੀ ਸੁਧਿ ਦਈ ॥
raniyeh aan sakhee sudh dee |So Sakhi came and told Rani.
ਨਿਜੁ ਪਤਿ ਕੌ ਲੈ ਚਰਿਤਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਯੋ ॥
nij pat kau lai charit dikhaaeiyo |(The queen) showed her character to her husband
ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਧ੍ਰਿਗ ਚਿਤ ਆਪਨ ਠਹਰਾਯੋ ॥੧੪॥
nrip dhrig chit aapan tthaharaayo |14|And the king despised his chit. 14.
ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥
doharaa |dual:
ਮੈ ਜਾ ਕੌ ਧਨੁ ਅਮਿਤ ਦੈ ਕਰੀ ਆਪਨੀ ਯਾਰ ॥
mai jaa kau dhan amit dai karee aapanee yaar |(The king began to think) whom I had made my friend by giving him immense wealth,
ਤਿਨ ਪੈਸਨ ਹਿਤ ਤ੍ਯਾਗ ਮੁਹਿ ਅਨਤੈ ਕਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਯਾਰ ॥੧੫॥
tin paisan hit tayaag muhi anatai kiyo payaar |15|He has abandoned me for money and has fallen in love with another. 15.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਬੇਸ੍ਵਾ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਈ ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
besvaa baahar aaee kel kamaae kai |When the prostitute came out after making love (with a friend).
ਰਾਵ ਲਰਿਕਵਾ ਦਏ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿਮਟਾਇ ਕੈ ॥
raav larikavaa de bahut chimattaae kai |So the king put many boys behind him.
ਕੇਲ ਕਰਤ ਮਰਿ ਗਈ ਤਵਨ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇਯੋ ॥
kel karat mar gee tavan dukh paaeiyo |(She) died in agony while having (forced) sexual intercourse with them.
ਹੋ ਕੈਸੁ ਪੇਸਨੀ ਰਾਨੀ ਚਰਿਤ ਬਨਾਇਯੋ ॥੧੬॥
ho kais pesanee raanee charit banaaeiyo |16|What kind of character did the queen make (to seduce the prostitute). 16.
ਇਤਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਪਖ੍ਯਾਨੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੇ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੀ ਭੂਪ ਸੰਬਾਦੇ ਇਕ ਸੌ ਅਠਤਾਲੀਸਵੋ ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਪਤਮ ਸਤੁ ਸੁਭਮ ਸਤੁ ॥੧੪੮॥੨੯੭੪॥ਅਫਜੂੰ॥
eit sree charitr pakhayaane triyaa charitre mantree bhoop sanbaade ik sau atthataaleesavo charitr samaapatam sat subham sat |148|2974|afajoon|Here is the conclusion of the 148th charitra of Mantri Bhup Sambad of Tria Charitra of Sri Charitropakhyan, all is auspicious. 148.2974. goes on

ਪਰਬਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੋਸਤੀ ਰਹੈ ॥
parabat singh posatee rahai |There lived a village named Parbat Singh.
ਪਾਚਿਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਗ ਕਹੈ ॥
paachisatree jaa ke jag kahai |He was said to have five wives.
ਪੋਸਤ ਪਿਯਤ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨ ਅਘਾਵੈ ॥
posat piyat kabahoon na aghaavai |He was never satisfied drinking poppy seeds.
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਕਵਨ ਮੋਲ ਲੈ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
taa kau kavan mol lai prayaavai |1|Who should take the fruit and water it (postal)? 1.
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਟੂਟਿ ਅਮਲ ਤਿਹ ਗਯੋ ॥
eik din ttoott amal tih gayo |One day his practice broke.
ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਖੀ ਤਬ ਹੀ ਸੋ ਭਯੋ ॥
adhik dukhee tab hee so bhayo |Then he became very sad.
ਤਬ ਪਾਚੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰਿਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਪਯੋ ॥
tab paacho isatrin sun payo |Then the five women heard (that his act was broken).
ਖੋਜਿ ਰਹੀ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਲਹਿਯੋ ॥੨॥
khoj rahee grih kachhoo na lahiyo |2|So even after searching at home, they did not find anything. 2.
ਤਬ ਪਾਚੋ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤੋ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tab paacho mil mato bichaariyo |Then the five cooked the resolution together
ਊਪਰ ਖਾਟ ਦੁਖਿਤ ਸੋ ਡਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
aoopar khaatt dukhit so ddaariyo |And laid that sorrow on the bed.
ਇਨ ਗਾਡਨ ਲੈ ਚਲੈ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
ein gaaddan lai chalai uchaariyo |(They) said let's take it somewhere to press.
ਨਿਜੁ ਮਨ ਯਹੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾਨ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੩॥
nij man yahe triyaan bichaariyo |3|Those women thought in their minds and said. 3.
ਅੜਿਲ ॥
arril |adamant:
ਡੰਡਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਬੀਚ ਜਬੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥
ddanddakaar ke beech jabai triy vai gee |When those women went to the desert ('Dandakar').
ਮਾਰਗ ਮਹਿ ਗਡਹਾ ਗਹਿਰੋ ਨਿਰਖਤ ਭਈ ॥
maarag meh gaddahaa gahiro nirakhat bhee |So they saw this deep pit on the way.
ਆਵਤ ਲਖੇ ਬਟਊਆ ਧਨ ਲੀਨੇ ਘਨੋ ॥
aavat lakhe bttaooaa dhan leene ghano |(At the same time they) saw the way bringing much wealth.
ਹੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਸੌਦੋ ਅਬ ਆਛੇ ਬਨੋ ॥੪॥
ho kahiyo hamaaro sauado ab aachhe bano |4|(They) thought that now our deal will be good. 4.
ਸੁਨਹੋ ਬੀਰ ਬਟਾਊ ਬਾਤ ਬਲੋਚ ਸਭ ॥
sunaho beer battaaoo baat baloch sabh |O our Baloch brothers! listen to us
ਪਿਯ ਗਾਡਨ ਕੇ ਹੇਤ ਇਹਾ ਆਈ ਹਮ ਸਭ ਅਬ ॥
piy gaaddan ke het ihaa aaee ham sabh ab |We all have come here to support our beloved husband.
ਯਾ ਸੌ ਆਨਿ ਜਨਾਜੋ ਅਬੈ ਸਵਾਰਿਯੈ ॥
yaa sau aan janaajo abai savaariyai |Now take good care of its cremation (arthi).
ਹੋ ਹਮਰੇ ਗੁਨ ਔਗੁਨ ਨ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਬਿਚਾਰਿਯੈ ॥੫॥
ho hamare gun aauagun na hridai bichaariyai |5|And don't think about our qualities. 5.
ਉਸਟਨ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਉਤਰਿ ਬਲੋਚ ਤਹਾ ਗਏ ॥
ausattan te sabh utar baloch tahaa ge |All the Baloch went there after dismounting from the camels.
ਨੀਤ ਖੈਰ ਕੀ ਫਾਤਯਾ ਦੇਤ ਊਹਾ ਭਏ ॥
neet khair kee faatayaa det aoohaa bhe |They came there to read the Fatya of Khairat.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਪਰੇ ਸੁਮਾਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਕੀ ਜ੍ਯੋਂ ਨਿਰਖ ॥
taa ko pare sumaar mritak kee jayon nirakh |(Then) seeing him lying like the dead
ਹੋ ਨਿਕਟ ਇਸਥਿਤਹ ਭਏ ਗੜਾ ਕੋ ਗੋਰ ਲਖਿ ॥੬॥
ho nikatt isathitah bhe garraa ko gor lakh |6|Mistaking the pit for a grave, they stood next to it. 6.
ਲੀਨੀ ਖਾਟ ਉਠਾਇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੈ ॥
leenee khaatt utthaae mritak tih jaan kai |They took his bed thinking that he was dead.
ਸਕਿਯੋ ਨ ਭੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਕਛੂ ਪਹਿਚਾਨਿ ਕੈ ॥
sakiyo na bhed abhed kachhoo pahichaan kai |Nothing could understand his secrets.
ਜਬ ਤਾ ਪੈ ਸਭ ਹੀ ਇਸਥਿਤ ਭੇ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
jab taa pai sabh hee isathit bhe aae kai |When they all came (to the pit) and stood
ਹੋ ਡਾਰਿ ਫਾਸਿਯਨ ਗਡਹੇ ਦਏ ਗਿਰਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੭॥
ho ddaar faasiyan gaddahe de giraae kai |7|(Then those women) put nooses around their necks and threw them into the pit.7.
ਏਕ ਗਾਵ ਤੇ ਦੌਰਿ ਆਫੂ ਲ੍ਰਯਾਵਤਿ ਭਈ ॥
ek gaav te dauar aafoo lrayaavat bhee |A (woman) ran and brought opium from the village.
