ਚੇਰੀ ਕੋ ਲਖਿ ਰੂਪ ਲੁਭਾਯੋ ॥
cheree ko lakh roop lubhaayo |So he was tempted to see the form of the maid.
ਰਨਿਯਹਿ ਡਾਰਿ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਤੇ ਦਯੋ ॥
raniyeh ddaar hridai te dayo |(He) forgot the queen from his heart
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ਭਯੋ ॥੫॥

ਕੇਲ ਬਿਨਾ ਰਾਨੀ ਅਕੁਲਾਈ ॥
kel binaa raanee akulaaee |Rani became distraught without sexual activity.
ਤਾ ਕੌ ਪੈਂਡ ਬਿਲੋਕਨ ਆਈ ॥
taa kau paindd bilokan aaee |Came to see his way.
ਕਹਾ ਰਹੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਨਹਿ ਆਏ ॥
kahaa rahe preetam neh aae |(I was thinking that) Pritam has not come, where have they stayed?

sudh bhoolee kidho kinoo bhulaayo |(He) does not remember or someone has forgotten
ਖੋਜਤ ਰਹਿਯੋ ਪੈਂਡ ਨਹਿ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
khojat rahiyo paindd neh paayo |Or has been searching, but has not found the way.
ਤ੍ਰਾਸ ਦਿਯੋ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਤਿਹ ਆਈ ॥
traas diyo kinahoon tih aaee |No one threatened him
ਭੇਟ ਭਈ ਕੋਊ ਭਾਮਿਨਿ ਭਾਈ ॥੭॥
bhett bhee koaoo bhaamin bhaaee |7|Or a good-looking woman was not found. 7.
ਆਵਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਇ ਕਰ ਗਏ ॥
aavat hai ki aae kar ge |Is he coming or has he come and gone?
ਆਵਹਿਗੇ ਕਿ ਰੂਠ ਕੇ ਗਏ ॥
aavahige ki rootth ke ge |(He) will come or has gone mad.
ਮਿਲਿ ਹੈ ਯਾਰ ਆਇ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
mil hai yaar aae sukhadaaee |(I) will be comforted by the arrival of Sukhdai Yar.
ਬਡੀ ਬਾਰ ਲਗਿ ਬਾਰ ਲਗਾਈ ॥੮॥
baddee baar lag baar lagaaee |8|(Thinking like this) she kept looking at the door for a long time.8.
ਯੌ ਚਿਤ ਚਿੰਤ ਤਹਾ ਪਗੁ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥

ਖੜਗ ਹਾਥ ਗਹਿ ਦੇਖ ਚਲ ਆਂਖੈ ਦੋਊ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੧੦॥

ਤਬ ਰਾਜਾ ਚੇਰੀ ਭਏ ਤਾ ਕੌ ਰਮਤ ਨਿਹਾਰਿ ॥
tab raajaa cheree bhe taa kau ramat nihaar |Then the king saw the maid (and that person) enjoying
ਦੁਹੂੰਅਨ ਕੌ ਮਾਰਤ ਭਯੋ ਸਕਿਯੋ ਨ ਮੂੜ ਬਿਚਾਰਿ ॥੧੧॥
duhoonan kau maarat bhayo sakiyo na moorr bichaar |11|And killed both of them, but the fool could not understand the secret. 11.
