ਨਿਲਜ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
nilaj naaree |O shameless woman!
ਕੁਕਰਮ ਕਾਰੀ ॥
kukaram kaaree |“O shameless woman! you are the doer of evil acts,
ਅਧਰਮ ਰੂਪਾ ॥
adharam roopaa |O wicked one!
ਅਕਜ ਕੂਪਾ ॥੨੧੬॥
akaj koopaa |216|“Impiety-incarnate and store of vicious works.216.
ਪਹਪਿਟਆਰੀ ॥
pahapittaaree |O pitari of sins!
ਕੁਕਰਮ ਕਾਰੀ ॥
kukaram kaaree |“O the basket of sins! evil-doer,
ਮਰੈ ਨ ਮਰਣੀ ॥
marai na maranee |O dead, not dying!
ਅਕਾਜ ਕਰਣੀ ॥੨੧੭॥
akaaj karanee |217|“You do not die even we wish you to die, you are the performer of misdeeds.”217.
ਕੇਕਈ ਬਾਚ ॥
kekee baach |The Speech of Kaikeyi:
ਨਰੇਸ ਮਾਨੋ ॥
nares maano |O Rajan! (I said) Accept
ਕਹਯੋ ਪਛਾਨੋ ॥
kahayo pachhaano |“O king! Accept my saying and remember your words
ਬਦਯੋ ਸੁ ਦੇਹੂ ॥
badayo su dehoo |According to what was said
ਬਰੰ ਦੁ ਮੋਹੂ ॥੨੧੮॥
baran du mohoo |218|“Whatever you have promised, grant me two boons according to that.218.
ਚਿਤਾਰ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
chitaar leejai |remember,
ਕਹਯੋ ਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥
kahayo su deejai |“Remember rightly and give whatever you have said.
ਨ ਧਰਮ ਹਾਰੋ ॥
n dharam haaro |don't lose faith
ਨ ਭਰਮ ਟਾਰੋ ॥੨੧੯॥
n bharam ttaaro |219|“Do not forsake your Dharma and do not shatter my trust.219.
ਬੁਲੈ ਬਸਿਸਟੈ ॥
bulai basisattai |Call Vashishta
ਅਪੂਰਬ ਇਸਟੈ ॥
apoorab isattai |“Call Vasishtha, your unique spiritual head,
ਕਹੀ ਸੀਏਸੈ ॥
kahee seesai |Say (this thing) to Sita's husband (Ram Chandra).
ਨਿਕਾਰ ਦੇਸੈ ॥੨੨੦॥
nikaar desai |220|“Order the husband of Sita for his exile.220.
ਬਿਲਮ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
bilam na keejai |don't delay
ਸੁ ਮਾਨ ਲੀਜੈ ॥
su maan leejai |“Do not cuase any delay in the task and accept my saying
ਰਿਖੇਸ ਰਾਮੰ ॥
rikhes raaman |Disguising Rama as Rishi
ਨਿਕਾਰ ਧਾਮੰ ॥੨੨੧॥
nikaar dhaaman |221|“Making Ram a sage, turn him out of the home ”221.
ਰਹੇ ਨ ਇਆਨੀ ॥
rahe na eaanee |(The king said-) O Yani! (Why not stay silent)?
ਭਈ ਦਿਵਾਨੀ ॥
bhee divaanee |(The poet says) She was stubborn like a child and verged on madness.
ਚੁਪੈ ਨ ਬਉਰੀ ॥
chupai na bauree |Hey bastard! (Why not) silence?
ਬਕੈਤ ਡਉਰੀ ॥੨੨੨॥
bakait ddauree |222|She did not keep silent and was continuously speaking.222.
ਧ੍ਰਿਗੰਸ ਰੂਪਾ ॥
dhrigans roopaa |I adore your form,
ਨਿਖੇਧ ਕੂਪਾ ॥
nikhedh koopaa |She was worthy of reproach and store of man acts.
ਦ੍ਰੁਬਾਕ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
drubaak bainee |She is going to speak bad words
ਨਰੇਸ ਛੈਣੀ ॥੨੨੩॥
nares chhainee |223|She was evil-tongued queen and the cause of weakening the strength of the king.223.
ਨਿਕਾਰ ਰਾਮੰ ॥
nikaar raaman |To Rama as the shelter of the house
ਅਧਾਰ ਧਾਮੰ ॥
adhaar dhaaman |She got the ouster of Ram, who was the pillar (support) of the house
ਹਤਯੋ ਨਿਜੇਸੰ ॥
hatayo nijesan |and has slain his lord ('nijes'),
ਕੁਕਰਮ ਭੇਸੰ ॥੨੨੪॥
kukaram bhesan |224|And in this way she performed the evil act of killing her husband.224.
ਉਗਾਥਾ ਛੰਦ ॥
augaathaa chhand |UGAATHA STANZA
ਅਜਿਤ ਜਿਤੇ ਅਬਾਹ ਬਾਹੇ ॥
ajit jite abaah baahe |(Women) did not conquer the unconquerable, nor embrace the unconquerable,
ਅਖੰਡ ਖੰਡੇ ਅਦਾਹ ਦਾਹੇ ॥
akhandd khandde adaah daahe |(The poet says that the woman) conquered the unconquered, destroyed the indestructible, broke the unbreakable and (with her blaze) reduced to ashes the indeclinable.
ਅਭੰਡ ਭੰਡੇ ਅਡੰਗ ਡੰਗੇ ॥
abhandd bhandde addang ddange |Stinged those who could not be bitten,
ਅਮੁੰਨ ਮੁੰਨੇ ਅਭੰਗ ਭੰਗੇ ॥੨੨੫॥
amun mune abhang bhange |225|She has slandered him who cannot be calumniated, she has given him a blow who cannot be farmed. She has deceived them who is beyond deception and has disjointed the compact one.225.
ਅਕਰਮ ਕਰਮੰ ਅਲਖ ਲਖੇ ॥
akaram karaman alakh lakhe |Done the undone, wrote the unwritten,
ਅਡੰਡ ਡੰਡੇ ਅਭਖ ਭਖੇ ॥
addandd ddandde abhakh bhakhe |She has engrossed the detached one in action and her vision is so sharp that she can see providence. She can cause the unpunishable to be punished and uneatable to be eaten.
ਅਥਾਹ ਥਾਹੇ ਅਦਾਹ ਦਾਹੇ ॥
athaah thaahe adaah daahe |They did not burn those who could not be found, nor did they burn those who did not burn.
ਅਭੰਗ ਭੰਗੇ ਅਬਾਹ ਬਾਹੇ ॥੨੨੬॥
abhang bhange abaah baahe |226|She has fathomed the unfathomable and has destroyed the indestructible. She has destroyed the indestructible and has moved the immovable as her vehicles.226.
ਅਭਿਜ ਭਿਜੇ ਅਜਾਲ ਜਾਲੇ ॥
abhij bhije ajaal jaale |Neither drenched those who drenched, nor snared those who snared,
ਅਖਾਪ ਖਾਪੇ ਅਚਾਲ ਚਾਲੇ ॥
akhaap khaape achaal chaale |She has dyed the dried one, blazed the incombustible. She has destroyed the indestructible and has moved the immovable.
