ਆਜ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਭਯੋ ਸਜਨੀ ਉਮਗਿਓ ਨ ਰਹੈ ਕਹਿਓ ਮੋਰ ਹੀਓ ਹੈ ॥
aaj hulaas bhayo sajanee umagio na rahai kahio mor heeo hai |The mother said this, “O friend! my mind is extremely happy
ਆਜ ਕੇ ਦਿਵਸ ਹੂੰ ਪੈ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਅਰੀ ਜਬ ਮੋ ਸੁਤ ਬ੍ਯਾਹ ਕੀਓ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੧੪॥
aaj ke divas hoon pai bal jaau aree jab mo sut bayaah keeo hai |2014|I am a sacrifice to this day, when my son has been married.”2004.

ਦਸ ਦਿਉਸ ਕੋ ਬਾਲਕ ਭਯੋ ਜਬ ਹੀ ਤਬ ਸੰਬਰ ਦੈਤ ਲੈ ਤਾਹਿ ਗਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
das diaus ko baalak bhayo jab hee tab sanbar dait lai taeh gayo hai |When the child was ten days old, the demon Sambar (named) took him away.
ਸਿੰਧ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰ ਡਾਰਿ ਦਯੋ ਇਕ ਮਛ ਹੁਤੋ ਤਿਹ ਲੀਲ ਲਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
sindh ke bheetar ddaar dayo ik machh huto tih leel layo hai |When the child was only tan days of age, a demon named Shambar stole him and threw him in the sea, where he was swallowed by a fish
ਮਛ ਸੋਊ ਗਹਿ ਝੀਵਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਸੁ ਸੰਬਰ ਪੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਦਯੋ ਹੈ ॥
machh soaoo geh jheevar ek su sanbar pai fir jaae dayo hai |A Jhivar caught that fish and then he (sold it) to Sambar (the giant).
ਭਛਨ ਕੋ ਫੁਨਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਰਸੋਇ ਮੈ ਭੇਜਿ ਦਯੋ ਸੁ ਉਲਾਸ ਕਯੋ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੧੭॥
bhachhan ko fun taeh rasoe mai bhej dayo su ulaas kayo hai |2017|A fisherman caught that fish and brought it to Shambar, who, getting pleased, sent it to the kitchen for cooking.2017.
ਜਬ ਮਛ ਕੋ ਪਾਰਨ ਪੇਟ ਲਗੇ ਤਬ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਏਕ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab machh ko paaran pett lage tab sundar baarik ek nihaariyo |When the belly of the fish was torn open, a beautiful child was seen there
ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲ ਵਤੀ ਸੁ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਕਰੁਨਾ ਰਸੁ ਪੈ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਤਿਨਿ ਧਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
hoe deaal vatee su treea karunaa ras pai chit mai tin dhaariyo |The kitchen maid was filled with pity
ਤੇਰੋ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਇਮ ਨਾਰਦ ਸ੍ਯਾਮ ਭਨੈ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਉਚਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tero kahiyo pat hai im naarad sayaam bhanai ih bhaat uchaariyo |Narada came and said to her, “He is your husband
ਸੋ ਬਤੀਆ ਸੁਨਿ ਕੈ ਮੁਨਿ ਨਾਰਿ ਭਲੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੦੧੮॥
so bateea sun kai mun naar bhalee bidh so bharataa kar paariyo |2018|” And that women, considering his her husband, brought him up.2018.

ਪੋਖਨ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦਿਵਸ ਜਬ ਕਰੀ ॥

ਤਬ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਤ੍ਰੀਆ ਕੀ ਧਰੀ ॥
tab ih drisatt treea kee dharee |After being brought up for a good deal of time, he thought about a woman in his mind
ਕਾਮ ਭਾਵ ਚਿਤ ਭੀਤਰ ਚਹਿਯੋ ॥
kaam bhaav chit bheetar chahiyo |(That woman) desired Kama Bhava in Chit
ਰੁਕਮਿਨਿ ਸੁਤ ਸਿਉ ਬਚ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਯੋ ॥੨੦੧੯॥
rukamin sut siau bach ih kahiyo |2019|The woman also, with sexual desire, said this to the son of Rukmani.2019.
ਮੈਨਵਤੀ ਤਬ ਬੈਨ ਸੁਨਾਏ ॥

ਤੁਮ ਮੋ ਪਤਿ ਰੁਕਮਿਨਿ ਕੇ ਜਾਏ ॥

ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਸੰਬਰ ਦਾਨਵ ਹਰਿਯੋ ॥
tum ko sanbar daanav hariyo |You were stolen by the giant Sambar
ਆਨਿ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਕੇ ਭੀਤਰ ਡਰਿਯੋ ॥੨੦੨੦॥
aan sindh ke bheetar ddariyo |2020|The demon Shambar had stolen you and thrown you into the sea.2020.
ਤਬ ਇਕ ਮਛ ਲੀਲ ਤੁਹਿ ਲਯੋ ॥
tab ik machh leel tuhi layo |Then a fish swallowed you.
ਸੋ ਭੀ ਮਛ ਫਾਸਿ ਬਸਿ ਭਯੋ ॥
so bhee machh faas bas bhayo |“Then a fish had swallowed you and that fish was also caught
ਝੀਵਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਸੰਬਰ ਪੈ ਲਿਆਯੋ ॥
jheevar fir sanbar pai liaayo |Jhivar then brought (him) to Sambar.
ਤਿਹ ਹਮ ਪੈ ਭਛਨ ਹਿਤ ਦਿਆਯੋ ॥੨੦੨੧॥
tih ham pai bhachhan hit diaayo |2021|The fisherman brought it to Shambar, where he sent it to me for cooking.2021.
ਜਬ ਹਮ ਪੇਟ ਮਛ ਕੋ ਫਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
jab ham pett machh ko faariyo |When I tore open the belly of the fish,
ਤਬ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਉ ਮੈ ਨੈਨਿ ਨਿਹਾਰਿਯੋ ॥
tab tohi kau mai nain nihaariyo |“When I tore open the belely of the fish, I saw you there
ਮੋਰੇ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਦਇਆ ਅਤਿ ਆਈ ॥
more hridai deaa at aaee |(Then) a lot of compassion came to my heart
ਅਉ ਨਾਰਦ ਇਹ ਭਾਤ ਸੁਨਾਈ ॥੨੦੨੨॥
aau naarad ih bhaat sunaaee |2022|My, mind became pitiful and at the same time Narada said to me.2022.
ਇਹ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਮਦਨ ਕੋ ਆਹੀ ॥
eih avataar madan ko aahee |It is the incarnation of Kama
ਢੂੰਢਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਰੈਨ ਦਿਨ ਜਾਹੀ ॥
dtoondtat firat rain din jaahee |“That he is the incarnation of Kamadeva (the god of love), whom you seek day and night
ਮੈ ਪਤਿ ਲਖਿ ਤੁਹਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ॥
mai pat lakh tuhi sevaa karee |I served you as a husband.
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਮਦਨ ਕਥਾ ਚਿਤ ਧਰੀ ॥੨੦੨੩॥
ab mai madan kathaa chit dharee |2023|I have served you, considering you as my husband and seeing you now I am under the impact of sexual desire.2023.
ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਕੋਪ ਕਾਇਆ ਤੁਹਿ ਜਰੀ ॥
rudr kop kaaeaa tuhi jaree |When your body was burnt due to Rudra's anger,
ਤਬ ਮੈ ਪੂਜਾ ਸਿਵ ਕੀ ਕਰੀ ॥
tab mai poojaa siv kee karee |Then I worshiped Shiva.
ਬਰੁ ਸਿਵ ਦਯੋ ਹੁਲਾਸ ਬਢੈ ਹੈ ॥
bar siv dayo hulaas badtai hai |(Then) Shiva was pleased and blessed me
ਭਰਤਾ ਵਹੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਤੂ ਪੈ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੨੪॥
bharataa vahee moorat too pai hai |2024|“When, because of Shiva’s anger, your body was burnt to ashes, then I had meditated on Shiva, who, getting pleased, had bestowed on me this boon that the same husband would be attained by me.”2024.

ਅਬ ਭਰਤਾ ਮੁਹਿ ਰੁਦ੍ਰ ਤੂ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਦਯੋ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੨੦੨੫॥
ab bharataa muhi rudr too sundar dayo banaae |2025|Now Shiva has made you the same charming one.”2025.
